For me, one of the hardest things about designing

For me, one of the hardest things about designing products is making sure the design gets me excited but also, can actually sell. And the truth is - I struggle with this a lot.

This print is risky. You either love it or hate it. My personal style is very romantic and feminine, so I naturally lean into flower prints and light hues. But the reality is, and the sales data show that dark colors like black are the easiest to sell.

This time, I decided to test this new gym bag in a print that made my heart happy! I’m obsessed with the crazy contrast between the peach florals and the neon lime!

Sam and I went on a Minimoon for the past 10 days

Sam and I went on a Minimoon for the past 10 days and it was truly an adventure - like, a little bit of the magical kind…but more of the shocking kind than I would have liked. Between all of the luscious guacamole and mesmerizing cenotes, there was us dodging swindlers and then getting swindled, and then almost dying in a minicar almost-accident - TWICE - just to name a few things 😅

Anyway, it was a memorable trip for sure and my favorite part besides getting time to focus on @samlivits and our relationship as husband and wife (not business partners) was getting over my fear of equalizing my ears.

Over 10 years ago I did an introductory dive in the Great Barrier Reef with my sister and the tour guide did not properly explain how to equalize our ears so they ended up popping SHARPLY 🔪 and the pain was excruciating. Since then I’ve avoided diving because I’ve been terrified of that specific feeling.

Anyway, on this trip, I asked our snorkeling guide if he could teach me how to do it and turns out, it’s way easier than I thought. You just hold your nose and blow as you go down. That’s it!!! The pressure relieves itself in a comforting way actually.

Finally, I was able to dive deeper and omg it was so freeing to explore. I felt like a mermaid! 🧜‍♀️ Next step, learn how to hold my breath longer.

Did we truly relax and did it feel like a Minimoon? Well, we tried. 🙃 But when you’re running a business, you’re never off and you know what, I choose this life and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I love what I do and I don’t need a vacation from it - I just need dedicated time to not forget that there’s more to life than the biz and I need to experience as much of it as I can with @samlivits before we can’t anymore.

Ps: For those wondering, we were in Isla Mujeres and then Tulum (which was major vibes) and then Cozumel which is where all of this go pro footage is from. The tour we took was from a nice family biz named @viptoursczm.

It’ll never fit. Well I proved myself SO wrong. ANDDDD it was actually full of water! Now I don’t suggest walking around with a full half gallon in your pocket but I AM saying that this is a serious pocket that can hold A LOT 👍

Ugh. This was supposed to be a trend. Not make me emotional. But my eyes are hurting from the tears I’m trying to push back in.

This is my sketch book from 6th grade. I drew for fun when I wasnt doing homework, studying or playing tennis. I designed dresses for my Barbie’s, dance recitals, Halloween, and even my friend’s prom dress later on in high school. All I EVER wanted was to be a fashion designer.

My parents suppressed my dreams, in hopes of saving me from a risky career, but back then, it completely broke our relationship. I felt so lost, hollow, and purposeless. I had so much anger in my heart for them.

I ended up sabotaging myself so I couldn’t take the MCAT, but still graduated with a degree in Biology, lived a short life in corporate fashion, took random Craigslist jobs, was an eBayer for a sec, taught Pilates on YouTube (while they were constantly asking “when are going back to school?”), and now…

*sigh*

I’m just so grateful. I can’t believe I’m getting to live little Cassey’s dream.

When it comes to dresses, the real question is…BUT CAN I TWIRL IN IT??!?!?

For real though, I was looking for a workout dress for myself but everything that came up was so shapeless or wayyyy too tight at the hips. I actually bought that white one you see in the video. Even though it’s super cute, it HIGHLIGHTED my bloat 🎈

By this time, you know how my life goes:

2. Cassey is forced to solve the problem

I actually really enjoy these design challenges though because, well, I’m now coming to realize I just love challenges in general - fitness ones or fashion ones!
