Not all leggings are created equal. But, it’s ha

Not all leggings are created equal. But, it’s hard to tell from online photos…especially with shady “dupey” brands photoshop everything from colors to bodies so you don’t even know what you’re getting.

I’m going to tell you an insider piece of knowledge: fabric is one of the biggest raw costs of a legging. There’s no getting around that. So if you see 2 leggings that look fairly similar, but one is way way wayyyy cheaper than the other…beware of fabric. When brands cheap out on fabric, you can’t tell in a pic, but once you get into any real activity, that thing will most likely not be squat proof and you’ll be pulling on it all day to stay on.

One thing about me that you don’t know is that I’m not someone who gets stressed easily. I don’t really get nervous either. But it wasn’t always like this. When I was younger, my body would physically shake when I got up to speak in front of the classroom.

How did I overcome my fear, stress and anxiety?

Well first, it took years and years of practice facing my fears head on…but…in doing so, I came up with a 3 step routine that helped me calm down in high stress situations.

EMOTIONAL: I talk it out with someone I trust. I’m so lucky to have @samlivits to vent to and cry in front of. It’s so important to allow yourself to feel the feels. Don’t suppress.
MENTAL: Once I get most of the feels out, it’s time to be logical and come up with a game plan. When I have a solution, immediately I feel better because it helps me know that the state I’m in is just temporary.
PHYSICAL: With a solution in place, now all I have to do is just do something about it. Whether it’s literally executing the game plan, making space between me and the problem, working out, getting a massage or giving myself a massage with my @therabody Theragun mini (which is on sale for Black Friday btw - it’s $40 off!) DOING is the final step. #therabodypartner

For my fear of public speaking for example, here’s how I dealt:

EMOTIONAL: I was in 5th grade, body shaking, terrified to be speaking in front of people. At this point in my life, I talked to my mom and dad about how much I hated giving speeches.
MENTAL: I told myself I wanted to get over this fear. I told myself I needed to find a way to get better at public speaking. I started searching for classes.
PHYSICAL: In 6th grade, I signed up for Speech as my “fun” elective. Then I entered my middle school’s speech contest. I ended up winning 2nd place. I would later go on to be a part of the speech and debate team in high school.

These days I use the same formula when I’m faced with a challenge. I’m running a business that’s rapidly growing, so literally everyday there’s new problems 🥲 But hey, I’m grateful for these problems because they force me to grow, get better, and get stronger.

Guess! It’s my favorite number.

When I was __ I entered a pageant, my contestant number was __, and I ended up winning the crown that night. These days when I see the number __, I feel like the universe is telling me it’s going to be a great day (not a good day😉).
