Hello and Happy Monday!!!

I have a new workout for you! First time ever featuring a barbell! Obviously a lot of you at home may not have this so just hold heavy dumbbells in your hands.

I use these moves in my Bodypump and Powerflex classes. So if you think it’s similar to your classes, then it is! I started to get comfortable with lifting when I got certified to teach Bodypump. It empowered me to not be scared of the weight room. You guys should really go try a class at your gym if they offer it. Don’t be intimidated, there’s an instructor there to fix your form and the majority of the students are women. Also, YOU CHOOSE what weight you lift with so everyone can do the same moves without feeling left behind.

Also, what I love about these types of classes is the music. No more “4 sets of 15 reps….” – instead we get “go slow, go fast, single it out, pulse!” Then you’re done. Much easier to push through when you use the music to guide you.

I encourage you to try this workout at home with dumbbells – it’s just like being in a class with me. Will be fun. I promise!

      Renee, they are Nike training shoes. I bought them months ago…so not sure if that same style is still available.

    I will def try this workout this week . Love it…
    We don’t celebrate thanksgiving here in germany, but i am thankful to be alive and happy with my family and my boyfriend.
    Also I am thankful that we have good doctors and medicine….
    My Grandma is currently in the hospital after a stroke and we are not sure if she ever will wake up again…

    I did this today Cassey. I didn’t have the large bar bell so I held a 10lb. weight in each hand by my side. Should I do this workout while holding them on my shoulders instead??

      Hands are fine, but if your grip is slippery, then shoulders is the way to go.

    I am a little worried about Thanksgiving–I’ll be in New Jersey, with no access to my healthy vegan fare! My mom is making 4 different vegan dishes, but I am positive they will all be grain-based. I am thinking about bringing tofu, tempeh, almonds, and protein powder with me, so that I can at least have some healthy stuff the day after. Thank goodness I am only staying from the evening of the 24th to the morning of the 26th!

    I must say that I love your style to instruct. I have had some serious knee problems in recent times, so this was not my thing at the moment. Anyway you were so kind and persuasive, that I almost grabbed my dumbbells and started. I had to do a effective mat workout instead, but this looks like a great workout.

        I so agree 🙂 A lot of instructors are either too frantic or too drill sergeant-y. I love your videos because I feel like I’m working out with a normal person who I would like in real life! Keep up the great work, these are helping so many people. xo

    I LOVED this video!!! I used to do BodyPump classes at 24hr. I no longer have 24hr, so I don’t have access to BodyPump classes. I loved those classes. I’m thankful for you, Cassey!
