Recap on life & Upcoming Trips

Recap on life & Upcoming Trips

OK today’s entry is more like a journal post. I need to take a quick breather for a sec! I am feeling pretty tired. Lots of stuff going on lately. Ever feel like you have so much to do that you just kinda sit there, phased out, and do like 2 things and your day is over and you feel like you didn’t do anything!? Yea. Story of my life.

So yesterday I opened my mailbox to find a sweet surprise mailed from Sweden. I had no idea what it was. I carefully tore the envelope to find a poster collage of motivational pictures wishing me things for the new year.

I like that it says “sleep” 🙂

On the back…messages from our own POPsters from all over Europe!!!! I can’t believe you guys mailed it to each other from Slovenia to Germany to Greece to Sweden…omg! This paper was touched by so many of you. And let me tell you. It touched my heart. I was so happy. The letter was so unexpected and I will keep it forever. Thank you Lea, Tanja, Gwgw, Sara, and Kajsa!

Today I was shipping packages and getting ready for my trunk show at Sports Club LA in downtown San Francisco. It’s such a fabulous gym. If you want ritzy, Sports Club and Equinox is where it’s at. (It’s about $150/mo though! CRAZINESS!!!!) Luckily when I was designing my collection, I knew who my target customer was, so I knew one day I’d be able to get into my dream retail shops. As long as my product is placed in front of the right customer and it can sell, that is all stores really care about anyway. It’s slowly happening…these trunk shows are giving me tons of experience in sales, which I never really did, so it’s good. But it’s definitely draining!

I’ll be in LA end of next week for 2 more trunk shows at Equinox West Hollywood Jan 23-25 and Equinox Santa Monica Jan 26-28. Please come stop by and say hello if you’re coming! Tweet me first @blogilates if you plan on stopping by. Sometimes I may run out so I don’t wanna miss you!

And finally…big trip planned to…(drumroll please) DOWN UNDER!!!!!

AUSTRALIA. Wee!!!!! Yes yes yes! I am going to be going to a new continent I have never ever ever visited before! I am so excited. My sister is studying abroad in Sydney and asked if I wanted to come. At first I was like nah, I don’t need to. Then I remembered back to when I was working in the corporate world and how every day I took off for vacation was like precious gold. Only 10 days I was allowed off in my first like 3 years of work. 10 days. A year. Oh. Em. Gee.

So after coming to the realization that I am no longer imprisoned by work, I said, hey why not hop on a plane and just go!? I can make YouTube videos and blog under the Australian summer sun! And so that’s how the decision came about. Aussies here I come! And you know what? I think we should have a meetup!

As most of you know, I’ve had a slight infatuation with Lorna Jane activewear for the past month or so. We’ve been talking back and forth and when Lorna found out I’d be in Australia, she offered to help me set up a meetup of some sort in Sydney! OMG!!! Yes yes yes. There are no dates set yet but I will be in Cairns at the beginning of Feb and in Sydney mid Feb. I’ll also be filming the first ever POP Pilates DVD out there. How exciting yes!?

I’l let you guys know more details as it comes closer. Aussies, who will come to the meet up in Sydney? For those of you who live in Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane…so sorry it’s far but if you want to make a carpool journey out there with fellow POPsters, that’d be fabulous! I’ll make sure to make the class worth it for you. We can hang out afterwards too and eat something together! If everything goes as planned, I will also make this a live BlogTV class too for those of you who couldn’t make it! Sound cool?

Anyway, that’s my news update of the day. I am excited and kinda dreading all the travel. I hate the actual act of traveling. I like being in new places but airports, lines, waiting, cars, crying babies (I bet you I’ll be next to a crying baby on the way to Australia and back, it just always happens to me) are just horrendous. I want someone to invent teleportation now.

I am also getting sad that I will be missing my classes. I teach 5x a week, so that’s a lot of class. A lot of faces I will be missing. I get really attached to my students so it’s hard leaving them. Even for vacay. Plus I hate leaving during prime gym season which is Jan and Feb…that’s when you gotta hook people for the rest of the year. My classes have been quite full lately and that makes me very happy! Teaching is kind of like performing, so when the audience is feelin it, you’re feelin it – and the more people there are the crazier I get!!!

I finally got to make my Class Schedule for 2012, you can check it here. Come take my class if you’re in the Bay Area! I’m even more ridic in real life.

K love youuuuuu!!!! Once again it is 2:30am. Geez Cassey. Get to bed. Ok, I’m going. Bye!

I just got back to TN 2 days ago, after being there for 3 weeks! It’s an amazing place!! I LOVED IT! But, traveling there sucks. For me it’s a total of 20 hours flying, and coming home, the lay overs made it a 30 something hour flight. 🙁

Cassey this is Fantastic!! I just had one of my kickboxers asking me today if you ever do another live workout she wants to be there. So happy you get to go on Vacation! Had no clue you had another sister!

Oh my goodness, this is so exciting! I’ve been following your blog for about 2 months now and I live in Sydney! Hopefully my exams won’t coincide with the meetup, but there is a good chance I can make it! I’ve been on and off with your videos though (so I’m pretty sure I’ll end up being the lonely person flailing around in the corner) but this is great motivation to start watching your videos consistently again 😀
Can’t wait to see you down under!!

Awww I envy Australian Popsters:) You should have brothes studying in Europe :D!! You had just 10 free per year?? For 3 years? What was your job Cassey?

Oh another sister:)? So you have 2 just like me:)? And wow…DVD:) I don’t need it cuz Tanja download your videos with Youtube downloader and we have all videos on CDs. But I think this is great idea! I can’t wait to buy new shirts/tops:).

Also, I used to weigh about 40 lbs more than I do now. I feel like I’ve lost weight in my thighs, core, and arms, but my calfs refuse to shrink! I can feel the muscle underneath but they seem to get bigger and bulge but they don’t shrink. Any advice?

  11. Sunny says:

Yes! I would totally buy a blogilates workout tape! Keep us posted if/when it happens.

That is sooo touching that all those European popsters sent you a motivation board! What a lovely gift! 🙂

When I lived in NYC after college, I was a member of Equinox – just starting out in the workforce, living in Manhattan, crazy expensive gym…yeaaa I was poor. But it was worth it! Equinox is like my heaven 🙂

    hey cassey!
i’ve been following you for the past year or so, and i was super bummed because at the end of november i came to backpack around aus (currently perth) and had to give up the luxury of blogilates in a clean living room. but maybe you coming here will motivate me to try it out in a perhaps dirty, though exciting, hostel dorm room. ah and now i’m going to be on the lookout for you when i travel east!
also, many thanks for the water challenge… couldn’t have come at a better time when it’s 35degrees C at night and you wake up drenched in sweat.

    1. blogilates says:

Wow!!!! I hope to meet you in feb!!!

  14. Hanna says:

Hi cassey ^^could you please do a workout for the gym, like what to start with and for how long and how often. I’ve just started going to a gym and I have no idea what to do to get best effect. So please help me.

Try my printable called simply slimming circuit! Or the best thing to do is take a class! The instructors are there to answer any questions you have and they’re free!

    Hi Cassey!
I’ve been meaning to drop you a note and tell you how much I LOVE my Ogorgeous sparkly black bag…it’s seriously so pretty! And, fits in all my stuff I need for the gym (which is a lot!) It arrived at my post office just before Christmas, and of course, I waited til Christmas Day to open it and it was my BEST gift for Christmas. I may need the silvery sparkle one too…. 🙂
Thanks so much for the blog, it’s really awesome. I’m here in snowy, cold, Canada – but I’m living vicariously through you as you travel to Australia!
Can’t wait to hear all about your travels and read your blog posts while you’re there. Wishing you safe and happy travels, and no crying babies. Tip…take some earplugs (the kind that are moldable to your ear), and a sleep visor, and a really soft blanket (or Lulu vinyasa scarf). Last time I travelled, I even made myself a tiny little aromatherapy spray (very mildly scented). It was a tiny misting bottle filled with water with a drop of lavender oil, and a drop of peppermint oil. Then you can mist it on your blanket and sniff that to take away any other unpleasant smells there may be around you
All the best to you, and HAPPY TRAVELS!!
    Dawn <3

You have ANOTHER sister? I suppose Jackelyn is not studying in Sydney 🙂 and please, sleep more, stress and not enough resting is really really bad for you. And you know it too, right? 🙂
