POP Pilates Meet Up Recap

POP Pilates Meet Up Recap

(sign above created by sister Jackelyn!)

Hello! It’s been a long long weekend and Monday away from the computer! Sorry for the hiatus in blog posting but I am back now!

As you know, the first ever POP Pilates meetup happened this weekend in SF! I was so happy to see a bunch of my fans in the Bay Area and 2 that flew all the way from LA! I am shocked and way too flattered for my own good. SUPER BIG THANK YOU to all that took the time out of their weekend to come and do Pilates with me. It was awesome to have the live stream going on at the same time on BlogTV so that more people could benefit from the workout from all over the world. Seeing you guys chatting and getting excited was so cool for the people watching your comments too! Below is my photo recap!

While we were setting up I was greeted by one of my youngest fans, Madison!! 6 years old. Remember her? She wrote me a cute note after she spotted me at the Nike Women’s Marathon. On Saturday, mother and daughter stopped by to say hello. Madison even made me a hand drawn card! It was such a perfect start to the meetup.

One of the most exhilarating parts of the meetup was when I got to finally “MEET” my ambassadors!!!! We have never ever ever spoken in real life so when we all saw each other for the first time, talking, and breathing together, I felt chills down my spine. It was so crazy to see their faces light up the moment the cam from SF went live. From left to right we have the Cari, Becky, Amber crew from Chicago, us popsters in SF (Janice from LA and Vanessa from San Jose were there), Kajsa from Sweden, Lea from Slovenia, and Sara from Germany. Missing some peeps…ahem…you know who you are…j/k no one’s mad! We will have to resched another google hangout soon.

Sports Basement Bryant St. not only sponsored the space for us to use, but they were kind enough to provide healthy snacks. I am deeply appreciative of this. Everyone loved the mini muffin things and kept asking me for the recipe because it tasted “healthy” – in a good way of course! Unfortunately I did not bake them! They also provided the laptop and projector for the live stream! Thank you SB, you made this all possible.

Is that a pile of Miracle Noodles I see? Well yes! Super huge thanks to MN for sending me these packs for the fans. I can’t wait to see what you guys whip up! Some Pad Thai maybe? Pho perhaps?

The workout started with The Hundred of course! To warm up those abs. Look at that perfect POPster form!

We did an awesome hour long workout and of course I thew in some of my faves like the 1/2 cobra pushup. This is my “MUAHAHA” face right before saying “…just so you know, we’re going to kill your triceps now.”

Group shot!!! We also all filmed a massive group burpee for the Burpee World Tour video.

Umm, matching much?

Chillin after the event. Or…more like we tried to have a sexy photoshoot but no one could keep a straight face.

After everyone left, a group of us went to go eat. Being the healthy active people that we are, naturally we ditched the cars for a 2 mile walk to Gracias Madre, a vegan Mexican restaurant. Ok fine, the 2 mile walk was unintended. We took the long way.

We were able to get a table for 10. Thank goodness because we were STARVING from a tough workout!!! I was actually very surprised that none of the boys objected to eating Vegan. The times are changin’

The best on the menu! Butternut Squash Quesadilla. This isn’t what I got but I tried it and it was FANTASTIC!!! I have some butternut at home…maybe I should try a version of it soon. Perfect blend of sweet, salty, and creamy!

Overall, I had such a spectacular time getting ready for this event and teaching at the event. I was really stressed about the whole technological aspect of the meetup (like wuld BlogTV cut out? Would internet work? etc.) but everything was fine. My bf set up the laptop and projector and Janice’s bf helped patrol/ban the trolls on BlogTV. Apparently things got “bad” on BlogTV as in lots of pervs joined in on the livestream. Great. I believe at one point there were up to 580 live viewers. I later saw that BlogTV tweeted our event to their followers (and they have over 100,000 followers) – so that’s probably when the wave of watchers and weirdos came in. Sorry if it made you feel uncomfortable! You should have been paying attention to the workout only right!!??

Thank you again to EVERYONE who helped make this event possible. I love you. To see more pics and fan photos, please visit the complete album on the Blogilates Facebook page here. If you took your own, please be sure to share it with us too!

I knew you were all going to have a wonderful time and I’m glad everything turn out as expected. I feel SO BAD that I missed all this. I SUCK. *sad face* “Dobby is always having to punish himself for something, sir. They lets Dobby get on with it, sir.” *sad face*

    1. Oh, I forgot, can you record your streamings on BlogTV? I think BlogTV allows it.

Becky, Myself and the rest of the 10 of us were to busy doing the workout so we did not even notice the pervs…and afterwards we were soo excited about being able to talk to the rest of the ambassadors we had no clue that was going on lol….it was great and awesome and I can’t wait to do it again!

Thank you for arranging this meet up, Cassey – it looks like everyone had a lot of fun and I would have loved to be able to participate! However, I just wanted to comment on what I’ve been reading in the blogilates community lately. Although usually positive, I was both shocked and saddened by what I read on the blogilates Facebook page in particular, especially the comments that were made in response to 48 versus 20 percent issue. It’s sad when you log online and have to read such negative (and often disgusting) comments in what is usually a supportive and uplifting community. I just wanted to express my disappointment, but realize that this is no reflection of you or the things that you do (I think you’re great), but again, I was just very surprised to see this.

Hayley thanks so much or bringing this to my attn. I hadn’t checked the thread in a few days but am so glad I did because I am disappointed in the randoms that came in and started cussing and calling people fat. Horrible. About to do a big time blog post on this!
