Spoonable Chunky Monkey Protein Shake

If you’ve ever had Chunky Monkey ice cream, this protein shake is so close to the “real thing.” It’s crazy! Like, you might be wondering if it’s really healthy. It is!

It’s packed with protein and healthy carbs to fuel your workout, or, just satisfy your sweet tooth.

What I love about this shake is that I developed it to be suuupppper thick…like, almost eaten with a spoon-thick so that it kinda tastes like you’re indulging in soft-serve fro-yo. I also wanted textured chunks of goodness.

If you prefer to sip this like a milkshake, just blend instead of pulsing to incorporate everything until it’s smooth and creamy! And add less ice or more milk.

Chunky Monkey ingredients

Banana – I mean, it’s the foundation of anything chunky monkey flavored. I freeze mine beforehand which makes the shake extra creamy and thick.

Protein Powder – I used my Sweet Cream Sculpt & Debloat Protein with Probiotics.

Walnuts– Great for your brain with healthy fats!

Non-Dairy Milk– You decide which is your favorite! I like almond-coconut blends, but oat milk, or straight almond, coconut or even macadamia milks all work.

Freeze Dried Bananas – I highly suggest you add these for the texture and extra banana flavor. I say optional in the recipe, but honestly, I gotta have them in mine every time.

Chocolate Chips – Yes. Grab the sugar-free kind if you want a lower carb count and a little boost of fiber.

  • Place the milk, frozen banana, protein powder and ice into a high-powered blender. Process until thick and smooth. Pulse in the walnuts, chocolate chips and freeze-dried bananas, if using.
  • Pour into a glass and enjoy with a spoon or an extra wide straw.
