POPstar Transformation: Ashley :)

POPstar Transformation: Ashley 🙂

Hey POPsters,

After I shared with you Hayley’s transformation story, I received more inspirational pictures and letters. Yay! These are soooo cool to read – it solidifies that we’re not just working out to One Direction and killing our abs for fun – these workouts WORK. You are sore for a reason. Changes are being made. And it’s awesome.

And guess what?

You’re working out with people all over the world – people who are committed to taking their lives into their own hands and taking control of it. One meal at a time. One move at a time. One video at a time.

Today I bring to you Miss Ashley who tweeted this picture to me:

I was shocked! THIS is amazing. THIS is dedication. And this was all done with drive, heart, sweat, and free YouTube vids. WOWZAAA!!! What a hottie!!! Enough of me talking, let’s see what Ashley did to get that smokin’ bod!

ASHLEY’S INSPIRATIONAL STORY:

Hey! I’m Ashley 🙂 I’ve always been bouncing around from diet to diet and switching exercise programs so I wouldn’t get bored. In the past, the most I was able to lose was about 10 pounds, but I would gain it right back.

I became pretty unhappy with the way I looked and felt, so I started with cutting out all processed foods and sugars from my diet. That gave me a good start, but I still had a ways to go. Exercise was the only thing missing. I’m a stay at home mom with two kids, my husband works nights, and I’m a full time student, so going to the gym was pretty impossible. One day I just typed “cardio” into YouTube and BAM! There was Cassey!

The first month I could only do one video a day and that was just doing the modified versions! Girl pushups :). Cassey really kept me motivated and her workouts never got boring! I wasn’t doing the same workout over and over; there are so many to choose from! I will tell you, she’s right about doing cardio in combination with her Pilates videos!

Thanks for all your hard work and updated videos, Cassey. I feel AMAZING! My total weight loss is 40 POUNDS! I’m smaller now than I have ever been, and I bought a bikini for the first time in about 10 years! Now I’m able to do the cardio videos multiple times in a row, and I hardly ever need to do any modifications. You make it easy to squeeze in a workout no matter how busy I am! Your dedication is inspiring :).

ASHLEY’S FAVE 3 BLOGILATES VIDS:

My absolute NÚMERO UNO video of yours is the HIIT Food Baby! I get a leg workout and cardio at the same time!

Second vid is bikini blaster booty booty booty.

Third one is an older one but I looooove it! Perky butt and long lean legs! Bootie pat!

A SNAPSHOT OF ASHLEY’S DAILY DIET:

Breakfast:
Coffee with coconut milk instead of creamer (no sugar, and I know coffee messes with your cortisol levels…but I have two kids under 2. No way I’m giving up coffee! :))
Cubed sweet potatoes, a few blackberries, and a kale omelette

Lunch:
Grilled chicken salad, a little guacamole as dressing
Sliced tomato

Snacks:
Dried okra, dried zucchini chips, carrots, nuts (but not all at once! Just throughout the week)

Dinner:
Baked tilapia
Sautéed asparagus
Cauliflower rice (cauliflower in food processor until it looks like rice, then sauté with clarified butter and seasonings)

THANK YOU SOOOOOOO MUCH ASHLEY for sharing your story with us! You are truly an inspiration to the whole Blogilates Community and prove that with a strong, focused mind – anything can be achieved! You’re a true POPstar!

If you have any questions for Ashley, you can tweet her at @TangeloFlavored (like tangelo the fruit!) I am sure she’d be more than happy to motivate you to work hard and eat well, just like she did, and still does!

If any of you guys have motivational stories you want to send in, please write me at POPsterpost@gmail.com and put “INSPIRATIONAL STORY” somewhere in the subject and be sure to attach pictures. Even if you weren’t looking to lose weight but Blogilates vids changed your lifestyle, your outlook on life, or helped you overcome tough times – I wanna hear it! And I know thousands of others want to as well. Featured POPstars get cool Blogilates swag btw 🙂

I hope this inspires you to GO HARD this week. Remember, you gotta TRAIN INSANE OR REMAIN THE SAME.

Love from London,

<3 Cassey

I am 2 weeks into my weight loss journey and I am 6 pounds down. I’ve started by eating 3 clean meals and 2 snacks a day(no processed foods, salt or sugar). I measure everything and I decided to “cheat” with 1 thing every 2 weeks. I am a working mom of 2 kids under 2 and a full time student so there is minimal time for workouts. Any suggestions for at home workouts that won’t take much time?

  2. Anada says:

Is it possible to loose 20 pounds in a month? If not, how about 10?

    1. Samantha says:

The most you should lose in a week is two pounds. That means in a month (four weeks), is eight pounds.
Of course, I’m not a doctor and if you’re really concerned you should consult one 🙂
      Best of luck!

I love these stories. Definitely makes me want to keep working on getting fit and healthy. The hardest part of me is the eating clean. I do well during the day and then when I get home I just pig out.

Any advice on eating clean and making it easier?

    Thanks everyone!

    1. Heather says:

I know that when I have end-of-day pig outs, it’s because I’ve felt like I’ve been denying myself all day and then I’m just too tired to fight it. I’ve dealt with it in two ways. a) I front load calories during the day- a good breakfast and a big lunch so that dinner can be lite- that way I’m not battling hunger and cravings at the same time. Also, don’t underestimate the importance of hydration! It can be hard for a body to tell the difference between hunger and thirst. b) I try to find alternatives to satisfy the cravings, so that I don’t feel denied the whole time. Replace a candy bar with a square of 85% cacao chocolate. Bake sweet potatoes and drizzle some maple syrup on them when you want ice cream. Some people like coconut cream in place of coffee creamers or regular cream. Bend smart so you don’t break.

Lemme know if these help you!

      Good luck!

      1. Karin says:

Bend smart so you don’t break… love it!! Thanks for your tips 🙂

    2. Julie says:

I’m a little late to blogilates and to this thread, but if you happen to see this, one of my tips for eating clean is to drink more water! Many people snack throughout the day or when they come home but usually it’s just dehydration. So make sure to drink lots and lots of water throughout the day! Hope that helps! 🙂

  4. Angie says:

Hi I was just wondering if anyone knows if dried orka tastes good and where can I buy dried orka or if I could make it myself.

    1. Angelie says:

I can’t tell you if it tastes good or not, but I’ve seen it at Trader Joes.

  9. Amy says:

I just don’t want to lose too much weight or do something stupid. I could lose 30 ish pounds, but it might be too much at one time. I am about 155 right now because I gained weight while on a medicine I am still on. I was 135 pounds before and looked better, but I felt sick a lot, I think.

    1. Ash says:

This is an excuse not to do anything! That you “might lose too much weight”..

You can make excuses or make progress, but not both. <3

    2. Jaime Jones says:

Go girl! Do it anyway! I am on a medication that makes you gain weight too! I didnt want that to stop me…….I went from 175 to 139, did it anyway and still on medication 🙂 still working hard too! Yay!

Amazing story, Ashley! It just goes to show that the whole “I don’t have time” excuse is just an excuse. If you can find the time to workout and eat right with everything you have going on, then so can I. Thanks for sharing your story!

  17. katrina says:

    Great work, Ashley!
I have a 15 month old and our second baby due in October , so just 18 months apart. I started doing POP pilates the year before I got pregnant ( to get in shape for my wedding! ) and was able to not only have endurance for a 94 hour labour, but also ( with the help of breastfeeding) get back into bikini shape 6 months after I had my baby! I know keeping myself strong and healthy is SO important, and this is inspiring to me to stay motivated to be in shape while I’m pregnant and after.

Cassey, thanks for featuring Ashley, and I think she deserves a free tank, to 🙂 !!!!

    But today i will.
Wish you a healthy happy life.

  27. valerie says:

such an inspiration! i am a stay-at-home mom to a seven-month old, and there are lots of days where i “don’t see the point” of working out, because i’m “so busy”. but damn, a full-time student with two little ones? i can find time as well. thank you for inspiring me!

  28. Maria Delaney says:

    Congratulations Ashley, truly inspirational! 🙂

  29. Michelle says:

    WOW! Congratulations, Ashley :))

I currently work full-time (often having to work crazy overtime. 50 hour weeks, blurgh!), and in a couple of months I’m going to be going back to school for my Master’s degree, which will not only mean having to schedule around classes but also homework and studying. I started freaking out about how I’m possibly going to fit in exercise with all that! It helps to know that someone else with a busy lifestyle managed to do it. Even if I can only do one or two short workouts each day, it’s good to know that, however much that will slow down my progress (versus now when I can do the full 1hr+ workouts), I will still see the results in the end if I just keep at it! Thank you!!

  30. Brooke says:

Wow, that is a huge transformation in 6 months! You go girl (: I have a 9 month old baby and am a full time student, to know that you can make such a drastic change in 6 months with 2 young children tottally gives me the inspiration and motivation to change myself. Thanks Ashley and Cassey!

  31. MelodyJ says:

Great story! Congrats on your lifestyle change. How long did the weight loss take? Are you doing any other workouts?

  32. Eleonor says:

    Ashley,
Did you get so tired after working out so you couldn’t do anything else like playing with your kids or taking them to a walk, because I do and i workout everyday for 40-45 min.
Cassey why is that? I weight 60 kg and my hight 168cm.

    1. Ashley says:

I found that creating a balance is what worked for me. I first started off with a few videos a week until I worked up enough endurance to be able to keep my energy stable throughout the day.

  33. Wow! What an amazing story! Thank you for sharing 🙂

  34. Ashley says:

Thank you everyone!! Diet am exercise is a gradual process, but the results you get afterwards can’t be taken away from you! Creating a healthy relationship with food is the key!

It really has changed my life! It’s not just a diet anymore, it’s a lifestyle!

  35. Ashley says:

Keep up the amazing work, Ashley! 🙂 You look amazing. How long did it take you to lose 40 pounds?

    1. Ashley says:

It took me 6 months! I changed my diet first, and as soon as I felt comfortable with my food changes, I introduced exercising! For me, it’s easier to stick to a workout plan when I make gradual changes.

      1. Buggles says:

Congratulations Ashley!! What an inspiration..I had a couple of questions for you. How often do you workout and for how long? Do you do other types of cardio or do you strictly stick to Cassey’s workouts? I recently lost some weight and am still trying to lose those “last 10 pounds” and tone up,but come september I am going to get super busy as well (probably working/schooling 50-60 hours a week) and I want to map out a plan I can stick to so I don’t gain back the weight I have already lost…I am quite nervous!

  52. Wow, I didn’t even know you had videos like that onYouTube. I just randomly found your blog a few days ago. Gotta try them out! 😉 Congratulations to Ashley 🙂

  53. Monica says:

How long did it take from she started doing the videos until now? Those are exactly the results I am hoping to achieve!

  59. Heather says:

How many workouts do you do a day Ashley?

    1. Ashley says:

Once or twice. Depends on how cooperative the kids are! 😉 and I usually take 1-2 “rest days” a week to let my body recover.

  60. Hayley says:

SO SO happy for you Ashley <3 From one person who found success doing this, to another, you look INCREDIBLE! And I bet you feel even better. Keep on pushing yourself and inspiring all of us .
