Pumpkin Season, Smoothie Challenges & 3 Min Lower Belly Workout!

Pumpkin Season, Smoothie Challenges & 3 Min Lower Belly Workout!

Hey guys!

TIS the season of the pumpkin! I actually appreciate that stores give us pumpkin once a year and then take it away from consumers at the end of Fall because it makes it THAT MUCH MORE EXCITING! I know it’s super sad when it’s gone…but don’t you just love that surge of feelings around October that just makes Autumn super special?

I went to Trader Joes and bought up a TON of pumpkin flavored things this weekend. Here are my reviews so far:

  1. Pumpkin Pie Mochi Ice Cream: This is very good. The mochi is fairly big and the pumpkin pie taste is not overwhelming. Loved the chewy outside with the cold, creamy inside. A lot of times, manufacturers go crazy with the cinnamon-y flavor and it tastes like potpurri and I can’t taste anything else.
  2. Pumpkin O’s:  This cereal was SURPRISINGLY crunchy! It almost tastes like it is fried! In fact it took several minutes before any of the Os got soggy in the milk. Tastes kind of like Apple Jacks. Very sweet.
  3. Pumpkin Macarons: I didn’t like these. They tasted like they had a bunch of saffron in it. But I looked at the ingredients and there wasn’t anything like that in there. Perhaps it was just too packed with pumpkin pie spices. Also, the cookie part is very soft. It crumbles when you hold it, frozen.
  4. Pumpkin Pie Spice Cookie Butter: THIS I have not tried yet. But the cashier at TJ’s told me that all I need is a spoonful. I am very excited to give it a try!

NOW! For some more fun fall things. Have you downloaded your October Workout Calendar yet!?? Here’s a lil sneak peek but to get the rest of it, please sign up for my free newsletter and I will send you the password immediately. Once you get that, click here to type in your password.october calNow…a new short 3 min 30 sec workout for you! It’s a POP Pilates TURBO that will BURN your abs like crazy! Ready for it? Here!

My abs were legit DYING after I filmed this for you. So, I highly recommend you do this RIGHT now. You will love love love. And in the spirit of the new season, I have a new series for you called “The Smoothie Trivia Challenge“. One of my hobbies is doing trivia…I love using random bits of knowledge in a competitive setting. It gets me all riled up and excited! So I thought, what a better way to hang out with some of my YouTube friends than to have a friendly battle and make smoothies while we’re at it!

This is the first episode with my good friend Rosanna Pansino from Nerdy Nummies! You will learn 7 very interesting facts and may also laugh (or gag) at what we had to put in our smoothies. Right answer gets a good ingredient. Wrong answer gets a bad ingredient. Have fun watching! (At least you don’t have to drink it!!!)

PS – omg these work outs KILL MEEEE. I actually had a rough few days Sat/Sun/Mon because my thighs were soooo sore. Feeling better today! Push through, right?! 😀

** I posted this on youtube, but it probably has more chances to be noticed here **

Hey Cassey, I’ve been a passionate blogilates fan for 3.5 years and I absolutely love everything that you share with us! Except the smoothie trivia challenge 🙁

As you say, both of these smoothies ended up in the waste bin at the end… So I hope that you understand that this video promotes food waste… Although you might think that this challenge is funny, honestly, for me, there is nothing fun in playing with food and then throwing it away. We live in a world where the majority of the population is malnutritioned (if not dying from hunger), where food production creates so much polution (like cattle breeding), where full eco-systems are jeopardized by human exploitation and species are getting at risk of extinction (like tuna and salmon), where food retailers already throw away so much food that can not be sold, and where workers on farms in some countries work literally in a slave-like conditions so that we can have our delicious bananas and coconuts every day… Knowing this, I think that noone in this world is in a position to promote food waste!!!

So please Cassey, please don’t play this challenge any more, it’s even painful to watch. I appreciate you so much for teaching us how to live healthy and how to be confident… But just as you are teaching us that body shaming is dangerous, you should also teach us that shaming the goods that this planet generously gives us is arrogant and hypocritical… And I think that living well, besides exercising and eating clean, means being aware of the nature and being compasionate with it.

Cassey, you are in a privileged position where you have a lot of influence over a full generation… Well, you have a great influence on me 🙂 I really do hope that you will use it to promote values that will make us better and more caring and responsible people! Just as you have always done! 🙂

p.s. Trivia is indeed fun, this I completely agree 🙂 So why not play it in a way where you have only “good” ingredients and the one who guesses the correct answer gets to choose his ingredients and the ingredients of the competitor… I’m sure some unexpected, but at least tasty combinations will turn out 🙂 Being able to enjoy your creation at the end is 100 times funnier!!!

      1. Cassey;s going to do caey and she has good intentions. I see your point but also Cassey lives her life the way she wants to live and can post whatever video she wants without obligation to justify herself. I love all her videos, and very much enjoyed this food challenge!

Alivia, I’m glad you raised this issue and so respectfully too! It’s refreshing to see people think beyond themselves and how their actions impact others–and the our planet. The more awareness we have about food waste, the more conscientious people will (hopefully) become.
