10 years ago today… | 51 of 90

10 years ago today, I uploaded my first YouTube video thinking only a few people would watch it. I was moving cross country so it was a farewell workout video meant only for my Pilates students at the gym. I didn’t even really think too hard about my username “blogilates” – I just picked 2 things I loved: Pilates and blogging and mushed it together!

Today we have over 4.7 million Popsters on YouTube!!! Why? I want to think it’s because the foundation of my channel came from a place of simply wanting to teach. And I’m so fortunate that you were willing to watch and learn!

Back then trainers on YouTube were looked down upon by the traditional media, you were seen as a joke even if you were properly trained and certified, and other instructors saw you as illegitimate. Oh how times have changed. 😊

Thank you for believing in me from the beginning!!!! I can’t believe there’s now a decade of Blogilates videos! I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon! My plan is to GROW OLD WITH YOU AND DO SENIOR CITIZEN PILATES WITH YOU!!! 👵🏼

Yesterday’s Recap:

BREAKFAST:

0% carbs, 0% fat, 100% protein

35 calories

For breakfast, I had a collagen matcha drink.

LUNCH:

15% carbs, 61% fat, 24% protein

470 calories

For breakfast, I had a bit of a disaster of a meal. I totally burnt like 50% of my cauliflower flatbreads (SO SAD) but the top was good at least! I topped my flatbreads with lox, avocado, and egg! I ended up adding in a coconut wrap to replace the burnt flatbread.

AFTERNOON MEAL:

24% carbs, 52% fat, 24% protein

341 calories

Post lunch and pre dinner, I had half a cauliflower pizza with some seaweed salad! Sam shared the veggie pizza with me and said that it tasted better than yesterday’s margherita flavor.

DINNER:

21% carbs, 53% fat, 26% protein

745 calories

One of my fave meals in the world! Salmon, avocado, lime cilantro cauli rice and a side of shishito peppers! I need to go back to Trader Joe’s to buy more peppers. I ate all 3 bags this week!!!

In total, I came in at 20% carbs (77g), 54% fat (95g), 26% protein (104g) and 1,591 calories.

Sam and I are headed to the beach to go jet skiing to celebrate our 10 year Blogiversary and our 1 year wedding anniversary (tomorrow). I’m literally hotspotting my laptop to my phone and blogging in the passenger seat! Ha!!

    Perfect legs. Cause that’s what I wanted LOL. But you have actually helped me realize it is about being fit. So although I’m still working on the perfect legs I am no longer mad that I don’t have them.
    You are the best workout instructor ever

  4. My first video was a bikini body ab workout. I wanted something challenging and you delivered! Countless nights I would put my kids to bed and rush downstairs not wanting to workout. I knew that if I started with your videos you’d get me pumped up and I’d end up with an hour of workout time done and feeling so much better than when I started. Thanks, Cassy!

    Cassey!! My first video was your beginners one that I did like 6 years ago after baby # 4 because I needed to feel strong again and my core was shot from pregnancy. I went through the beginners calendar two times before I felt like I could move on the the other calendars/PIIT stuff, but what an accomplishment I felt. You made me love working out again! I’m still here with you after two more babies and loving it! I love your positivity and how you focus more on inner and outer strength than how you look. Thanks so much Cassey!!

    Oh, I’m so getting emotional too Cassey… In a month it’s going to be my 8 years anniversary working out with you! I found pop pilates videos just by googling for workout videos to start exercising at home. I still remember the video that killed me and hooked me to your workouts forever: it was Inner Thigh Insanity! It’s crazy that even after all these years working out to your videos on average 4 times a week, I still have a lot of fun and they do miracles for my body, mind and soul! The other day I celebrated the 10 years Blogiversary with another favourite classic: Abominable Abdominals (your video titles really stick to my mind :D). I’m looking forward to the senior citizen pilates one day 😀 Much love from Switzerland! <3

  11. My first video wad the total body banging video! I was super bored and got lost on youtub e…lol. thank goodness I tried it because it got me started and I didn’t stop. I was hooked to the endorphins!

    When do you plan on going on your honey moon?! I remember you mentioned jumping straight back into work after your wedding!

    I started following in October 2014. I was processing a failed “almost engagement.” Whenever I felt grief or self pity or any kind of overwhelming emotion, I would just throw myself down on the mat and do your workouts of the day. Seriously, your calendars and God are the only things that got me thru that time of my life. I learned how to love myself for ME. I learned the impact of positivity. I learned discipline. I’ve starting to do your workouts about 3 years ago (starting with your book – french version) and can’t remember what was the first video I watched but I tried to follow the month calendar and it was sooo hard 😅Now I’m totally addicted and I can’t wait for senior pop pilates 😄💜

    I think my first video was POP Pilates for Beginners – Total Body Work Out – The one that was filmed 8 years ago! I started about 7 years ago and haven’t stopped since! Cassey, your positivity inspires me and has gotten me through some tough times – I’ve counted on Blogilates more than I even realised until recently. Although this 90 Day Journey is not my favorite chapter, as I’ve struggled with disordered eating from a young age, and have a low body image so lots of weight loss talk can be triggering, I appreciate your reasons for doing it. It’s also wonderful to hear more from you in blogs again!

    For me, it was more of the schedule. I needed a work-out schedule and was happy to see the blogilates calendar. This really made me disciplined and I still continue working out from the calendar every single day.

    Hi there! I discovered you with the mini series you did with live strong woman. I was bored and looking for something fun and different, and it was like love at first click! Then I suppose the first real blogilates video I followed entirely was the first video of the beginner’s calendar back in 2014. Thank you for everything Cassey!     I wanna say my first video was “Abs on Fire 1”. I was like, “This woman is insane!” (In a good way, of course.) Now I’m 6 years wiser and understand how important moving your body is so I complain (a little) less lol. Plus, I love supporting women of color in wellness.

    I started tearing up watching the video. So proud of you! When seeing the beginning of the video, I realized I’ve probably been with you for 8 of those 10 years. Damn. I think the first Blogilates video I saw was one of your stretching videos. I remember the yoga mat was orange and yellow striped. I loved that routine!

    Congratulations on your 10-year anniversary! I know I speak for a lot of other Popsters when I say thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the love and work you put into what you do. You are literally helping millions of us live our best lives! I stumbled on Blogilates eight years ago as a college student, recovering from a knee surgery and unable to keep fit by running or playing soccer like I had in the past. Your videos and calendars kept me sane and healthy, even though I couldn’t afford fancy work-out classes or subscriptions as a student. And in the past few years, your videos kept me fit in spite of my time-crunched schedule as a med student. Seeing you work through your 90-day journey is so inspiring and I’m really happy to see your journey as you achieve your goals! Thank you for everything, Cassey!
