WORKOUT DETAILS

Hey POPsters!

How goes it!?

Did you get a chance to try the new Victoria’s Secret Model Ab Workout yet? This one is really really fun because it’s chuck full of good moves and good music! I’ve been listening to a lot of Taylor Swift lately, so naturally, she made it into this workout!

I used: “I Knew You Were Trouble” by Taylor from her album RED, then “Die Young” by Ke$ha, and “Let Me Love You” by Ne-Yo.

Having good music REALLY makes working out so much more fun!!!

And you know what else is fun? The end of the video. This is what I do after I film your workouts 🙂 Cept…I kept the camera rolling this time when my playlist looped.

Ooh!

And I did something interesting yesterday. One of my friends was telling me how awesome it is to have a workout buddy to keep you accountable at the gym and to push you harder. I hear about this all the time but personally, I do not have one. If my sister were here, she’d be my workout buddy! Our levels are about the same and I like to so weight training whereas she likes to do cardio so we can push each other in our weaker areas. Well anyway, my friend told me – have you ever thought of just asking someone? I was like uhhh no that’s weird! What!? Who!!!

Well, I started noticing this girl who lifted the same time that I do everyday. She’s always by herself and we interacted a few times before so I took a deep breath and said what the heck. She seemed nice. I guess this is how guys feel when they have to ask girls out on dates!?

So I went up to her and basically asked if she wanted to be my workout buddy.

LOL.

Yea legit.

That’s exactly what I did.

And you know what? It was totally fine! We exchanged numbers and emails and who knows, our chemistry may match, or not, but at least I can give it a try! Maybe this will make my workout routines more diverse.

Ah! And just came out with some new stuff on the ShopBlogilates.com store! Look!

You just gotta keep reminding yourself of that! PUSH PUSH PUSH!!! Sore today Strong tomorrow tank.

BEAST MODE. Is it on!?? It better be!! Beastin tank.

A classic. But now with new fonts and on a slim fitting shirt! Train Insane or Remain the Same tank.

Don’t forget to use your 10% off code “THANKS10” this month which lasts until end of day 11/22. I know I put 10/22 on the calendar and a bunch of other places but I wasn’t thinking! (I made it at 4am)  Obvi it’s 11/22 expiration date and you have all month and you can use the code as much as you want! Great way to stock up for the holidays!

Speaking of holidays I went on a Trader Joes shopping spree yesterday and spent about $43 (usually my bill is $25) and am about to film a food haul! I haven’t bought this much in a while! I ended up buying cool new things to try.

Also, there’s a mini announcement I’ve been meaning to make. It’s kind of big news and I need to tell you – hope you won’t be upset!

I have decided to delay my bikini comp for a bit. I don’t think I can hit January hard the way I wanted it to. There are a few things going on in my personal and professional life that need attention and I was starting to get super crazy stressed out with the contest date shouting at me.

The competition should be something fun to train for. I was finding myself literally LOOKING to find time to sleep and my trainer was telling me that sleep was just as important as the dieting and the exercising. It was a hard decision to make because I’ve wanted to do this Jan comp since last year but it looks like I need to pick a date a couple months after that or something. Yea, I’m pretty sad but what’s the point of competing if I can’t reach my peak level, do better than last time, and not have fun while training <– it’s about the journey. And I wanna enjoy the journey and if I can’t at the least do that, I need to step back and analyze the situation.

It’s kinda hard for me to tell you guys because I feel like I am letting you down. But I hope not because I want you to know that in life, decisions have to be made, and priorities have to be set. Originally I said the comp was a bday present to myself. It’s ok, I can have my bday present in Feb or March. No biggie.

Either way, still eating as clean as possible but not sticking 100% to my bikini diet plan that I wrote out. Right now I will focus on mass building so that when I begin to lean out you’ll see more defined musculature.

So yeah – there it is! I’ve been sitting on this decision for a few weeks now.

I feel relieved actually…which is a good sign that I delayed the comp.

Well! Fun things ahead for the Blogilates Community, more great vids, and lots of other stuff I can’t really tell you about right now! But I’m working hard like a crazy person and I’m loving every second of it. Seeing your nice comments, your smiling pics (or your sweaty pics), your cute tweets, and awesome Instagram tags makes it all worth it.

Love you guys! Have a fab weekend! Off to film now!

<3 Cassey

Thanks so much for this WO, Cassey! It totally killed me! I couldn’t the all of the exercises, but I am getting there. Love your attitude and how you stay positive even when doing such a workout. Thanks for your motivation <3

    How much for a tank?

    Cassey,
Thanks for sharing the info about your bikini competition. I have always been the type of person who feels like I need to constantly be doing activities in order to be happy. At one point I was working full time, had a new boyfriend, babysitting on the side and in a semi professional hip hop dance company. I would rehearse 2 times a week until 1am, go to work from 7-4 babysit from 5-10 2 nights a week, and try to spend time with my family/boyfriend and friends. 3 years later, I still work full time but with a new company and better pay, I no longer babysit, I take dance classes on the side (the hip hop company fell apart) and I have time for the Gym. Not to mention I am engaged (to that boyfriend) and planning our wedding, but it’s not too stressful yet. I have better work hours, and we have more time together. I realized what my priorities were (him and my health) and I took steps to make time for those things. Now, I am so much happier hitting the gym with him, making dinner every night and watching something on the DVR after all that with him. I never knew having more “free time” to “be lazy” with the love of my life would so profoundly effect my happiness. 🙂

When the time is right, you will have time to train for your contest! Don’t beat yourself up!

    xoxo
    Stephanie

    thank you and fail well

I have a 4 and 1/2month old baby and it has been a journey getting back in shape! I still have a ways to go. I went from very fit pre baby, to a long recovery only taking a few steps a day, to walking, to jogging. I kept at it even when I was frustrated and ran my first 5K race 2 weeks ago! I was slow, but it felt great to reach my goal.
Now that I’ve got some endurance back, I’m wanting to get toned up. I’m nursing so I have to take it slow. It can be frustrating when what used to be easy is now a challenge. Your positive fun videos help me stay motivated, even if some of the moves are a challenge, I remind myself I could barely take a few steps just 20 weeks ago!
I love your workouts especially the VS abs. Thank you!

I don’t have any workout buddy! Lol some people say that having a workout buddy gives you motivation. When I used to go to the gym back in my hometown in Texas we will workout and seeing her going faster in a tredmill it will push me to go faster too, but then after that we will chat workout chat workout chat chat workout and I didn’t see a lot of change in my body like I have now that I workout at my apartment alone!
    &
Cassey do what you gotta do! Every achievement its awesome but what matters the most is the journey!

  9. Jenifer says:

Your workouts are great for off season triathlon training. I’m going for my first full Ironman next summer! How about an ‘iron-girl’ work out?

  10. Ella says:

OMG OMG OMG SHE FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY MADE A VS AB WORKOUT!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHH :O

  11. Sarah says:

Cassey you should totally do more Victoria’s Secret type workouts! Their fashion show is in 30 days, so a month of VS themed workouts for total empowerment and sexyness. PLEEEEEASE

  12. Ceny says:

My dog is my workout buddy, no lie! She’s been with me throughout my fitness journey, which began a few months ago. We’ve always taken daily walks around our neighborhood, but we’ve both gotten to the point where we can now jog for 35 min, 3 times a week together. I’m sooooo convinced that I couldn’t have done it without her! She’s always up for it, no excuses.

I also gotta say that I vent with my dog sometimes as I’m doing Pop Pilates in my living room. It helps. She doesn’t mind the occasional cuss word either 😀

Hope things work out with your new workout buddy!

  13. Jenn says:

    I am SO. MAD.

Kidding, of course…. obviously you need to do what’s right for you! You are smart to figure out that the timing is not good right now and readjust instead of making yourself miserable. Lots of people wouldn’t have been able to admit that to themselves, so good work. 🙂

  14. Alyssa says:

Don’t feel bad!! You’re so right:
“Yea, I’m pretty sad but what’s the point of competing if I can’t reach my peak level, do better than last time, and not have fun while training <– it’s about the journey."
    Advice I needed-thanks !:)

  15. Tiff says:

my favorite ab workout by far!! I’d love more tough, VS inspired workouts like this! 🙂

  16. Kelly says:

OMG! I think this is my new favourite ab workout! It really is fun and challenging at the same time.

And don’t worry about disappointing us with delaying the bikini comp. This is something you do for yourself, not for us. You have to take care of yourself, and you’re really setting an example for us, by showing us it’s ok to take a step back sometimes and wonder if you’re not overdoing yourself. Because we love every initiative you throw at us, but we love seeing a happy Cassey even more.

    So please take care,

    Kelly

  17. Sydney says:

Good for you for making a decision like that. I think you should do whatever you have to if you’re that stressed out. There will be another compition for you to kick butt at.

  18. teilzeitDAU says:

Oh Cassey, please don’t be sad about your “giving up”.
You know, i’ve somehow been having a gut feeling that there was something “wrong” w/ regards to the comp. you stopped tweeting/posting updates on how it was going etc. And knowing that you’re working on so many other things too, i started to really get a bit worried if you weren’t heading for another phase of complete overworking. so this post kinda feels like a relief to me, too, bc now i know you’re good. 🙂

please don’t think that you’re letting us down. you’re not!
and even more importantly: don’t you EVER think that you’re letting yourself down, either!!! i can imagine that you’re feeling disappointed with yourself at the moment bc you feel like you’ve just given up, and you don’t usually give up on things so why did you give up now etc etc. (I can so relate!)

BUT: i think it’s exactly this fact – i.e.: the fact that you don’t usually give up on your plans – that proves that your decision was right. if even YOU give up on something, then there really must have been a good reason for it and so “giving up” most certainly the right thing to do.

    love ya! 🙂

  19. Lyn says:

That was an incredible ab workout! More painful than P90X abs!! Thank you! I will be sharing on my blog this week for sure xx

  20. fado says:

    hey Cassey
maybe you could make a vs leg workout?

  21. Elle says:

We’re SO PROUD of you Cassey! You inspire us every day to make the same good decisions for our bodies and our health, and if it doesn’t feel right, then it can wait! You put your heart into blogilates for us, and you deserve the same attention from yourself!

LOVED the Victoria’s Secret Abs video. Could you do a Victoria’s Secret sequence of videos? IE: arms, legs, butt, back. They all have such amazing bodies and the fashion show is coming up, so I think a TON of girls would love that. #blogilatesbombshells because they use the word ‘bombshell’ a ton too. You could use Bieber, Bruno Mars, and Rihanna in your VS workout videos because that’s who’s performing at the fashion show this year!

    Love YOU!

  22. Melanie says:

Ah, I can’t get the new calendar password to work. I’ve tried like a million times :((

    1. Winnie says:

me too!! the password isn’t working for me either =(

  23. J says:

Don’t worry! No one should be mad – competing and the training is personal and you have to do it because you want to. It’s hard to understand until you’ve put in all the time at the gym, planning for the comp, hours prepping food, etc. how much you have to invest in it. Just focus on the other issues and if you’re ready later, then you can do it later.
The videos are awesome and so inspiring and for that I’m sure we’re all thankful and so excited when we see a new one to try.
    🙂

  24. Cassie, you’re feeling stressed because you set such high expectations for yourself. But we’ll never be disappointed by you as you continue to grow not only physically, but internally as well 🙂 We love you, and I hope some days you’ll look into the mirror and remind yourself of how much good you do for the community. You encourage a healthy lifestyle and you make so many of us feel better about ourselves. Beyond that, you push us all to keep training, and I think that discipline extends to other areas of our lives as well. The will to keep training regardless of how tired/lazy we may be feeling is mental training. Your videos have helped toned our muscles… and minds. 😀

    Thank you Cassie <3 <3 <3

  25. Maricella Macias says:

I loved that ab video it’s by far one of my favorites now.
I could have never done what you did, I wish I had a workout buddy but my sister is more into video games rather than working out. you help me push myself though so that’s all that matters 🙂

You’re not in anyway letting us down! you have so much on your plate already that you deciding to dely is a smart choice. Don’t ever feel afraid to tell us anything, you know we’ll always support you in whatever it is that you do.

  26. Lisa says:

We’re all so proud of you Cassey! You don’t have to justify wanting to put this off to us. You work so hard and are an inspiration. You’re doing the right thing. Take care of yourself and wait until you’re in a good place to focus on the competition. You don’t have to rush it. 🙂

    xoxoxoxoxo

  27. linda says:

Hey, Cassey, I think the POPsters are all very thankful for the hard work you are giving out to us and are supportive of your decision, whether you decide to go forward with the contest or not. You have lots of things going on and need to decide what needs to be taken care of first and I am proud that you are taking care yourself first. LOVE YAH!!XOXO

  28. Zoe says:

Cassey, please don’t feel like you’re letting us down! We want you to take care of yourself and do what’s best for you. If delaying the bikini comp is what you need to do, then of course we’re happy about that. Just keep being strong and looking after yourself. The blogilates community will always support you in what you do <3

  29. Chloee says:

Hey, I think it’s really good that you decided to not do the competition in January if it’s tolling on you that much because it needs a lot of attention and it’s good to step back a bit and handle the other areas of stress in your life first.

Also, for the past few days I have been getting lower back sores which aren’t like pain all the time but in the FOOD BABY video, the curtsy lunges (forgot what they were called) make my lower back hurt quite a bit (but oddly, my lower back doesn’t hurt that much doing ab workouts). I was just wondering if there are any lower back stretch videos you can do for people with lower back issues?

    Thanks =]

  30. Hi Cassey,

I try to do the workout every morning. I am 48 with 4 older kids and 4 grandkids and everyone is telling me how fit I am starting to look (it’s been a month!). My friend even told me last night ‘you’ve got abs!’. (No one has ever ever told me that)
I totally understand you not doing the comp so don’t feel bad. I read tarot and I see many people daily and I know for a fact this is an intense time on the planet. We need to feel calm and focused and centred while all this craziness is around. Lots of Pop Pilates! 🙂

  31. Ashlee says:

Of course we’re not upset, we are proud of you!

  32. Liz J says:

My mom always says you know you made the right decision if you feel relieved after. So you made the right decision! I went to Trader Joe’s for the first time today! There isn’t one in my city, but I was in a nearby city that had one and had some extra time. It was so unbelievably busy! But I got a pound of tofu for a 1.99 and a pound of grape tomatoes for 3.50 so it was worth the wait in line!

  33. Jessica says:

Don’t feel bad at all!!!! I think that you’re setting a fantastic example by following what your body is telling you – training should be fun and it shouldn’t take over your life. I’m running my first half marathon tomorrow (!!) and after talking to my brother, who was a competitive cross-country runner in high school, I’m glad I waited until I could enjoy my training and be excited to run the race.
Thank you for showing everyone that you can train like a beast but still make exercise work with your life, rather than take over your life. Balance!!! haha
I’m so grateful I found Blogilates! (I’ve been following since May.) Thank you for all your hard work. =)

  34. Ashley says:

i totally understand needing to delay the contest. life is crazy for me too, and i’m not disappointed in you at all!!!!!!!!! AT ALL!!! YOU’RE AWESOME!

  35. gaby says:

Treat yo self! Inspired that you are taking the time to take care of business and realizing the stress before it got out of hand. Not easy but it will be for the best

  36. Bhavini says:

You made the best decision for your life. I’m looking forward to following your journey to your next bikini comp no matter when is it!

I’m definitely buying one of your awesome tanks soon! Motivation :]

  37. ruthie says:

Cassey you can never ever let us down! You have to do what is best for you! 🙂

  38. celina says:

That’s a good choice Cassey, as long as you are not putting so much stress on yourself we are happy for you and we are only here to support you on your decisions, I for one am not disappointed at all! Whatever makes you happy 🙂 Continue making your videos because many of us are very thankful for all of your hard work. Don’t lose your perk! Love yoy Cassey!

    1. Mishy says:

Totally agree! You deserve to have some rest! I mean look how much things you do on a daily basis! You’re not letting anyone down… You’re just letting us look to the future! I love how you’re so energized and full of life! Don’t worry, you’ll hit hard a couple of months later! It’s not a big deal!

  39. Victoria says:

Definitely sounds like your body needs a rest, so don’t worry about us — we understand! 🙂 Take all the time you need. Put yourself first.

  40. Pam says:

I like you just the way you are. I do not follow your blog because of the bikini competition. I think you are a sweet girl who is really into health and fitness, and I admire that.

  41. Jerry says:

Of course we’re not mad! We’re happy when you’re happy!

  42. Helle says:

Cassey, I know it is none of my business, but I am actually relieved and very happy that you are postponing the competition. You will find a better time.

Thanks so much for your great videos, the work out plans and your never-ending inspiration for us.

Have lost 8 pounds since training with you online and am now in better shape than before pregnancy.

    H

  43. Ren says:

That girl does not realise she is getting the dream workout buddy! She is going to get ripped with you pushing her! haha.

and no biggie about the contest. Life should be fun!

  44. Courtney says:

I think you made a wonderful decision. There are just some things that have to be taken care of first and it wouldn’t be fun anyways if you were stressed out about it.

I don’t know if you saw this comment before, but do you think you will be offering any of your tanks and sports bras in plus sizes?? I can pay extra for them of course and I think it would give us “big girls” who are trying to lose the weight an even bigger boost !! ♥

    1. blogilates says:

hey courtney!! i’m working on getting cute plus sizes, so bear with me! i hear u!

    2. Megan says:

I check all the time to see if you have added bigger sizes. I’m working on getting rid of the baby weight I’ve accumulated from having three kids. I think your shirts are great, and great motivators! I just wish I could fit into them right now.

  45. ThaciaS says:

We are totally behind you on this and can’t wait “do” the journey with you! Please make more printables! I love taking them to the gym with me!

  46. LeaA. says:

Oh having a gym buddy is great. My lovely sis Tanja wrote me 2 training for this week (she doesn’t live in the same house) and omg so different style! And I have gym buddy, my friend Mojca and we are beasts together:)
Cassey, stop torturing me with all those tanks! I want them all:))!
Take your time with all those comps, it is your life, don’t feel bad because of us, duh:)!

    Love*

  47. Joan says:

Being honest to yourself is the most important thing. It shows great maturity to step back and recognize your priorities at the moment. Ultimately, you were competing for yourself and the challenge will still be there for you whenever you are ready. No need to feel bad about anything. 🙂

  48. Laur says:

Just wanted to say I am very proud of you being true to yourself! And being so honest always on your blog. Do what you need to do & get to that bikini comp when you have time! Hope all is well with you Cass xxxxxxxxx

  49. Gabbie says:

Don’t worry Cassey!! You’ll be able to do one again sometime soon
