Blogilates Adventures at Sundance!

Hey guys!

I’m in Utah now in Park City at Sundance! IT IS SOOOOOO COLD!!! OMG OMG OMG. The snow is beautiful but seriously, my toes are turning into ice pops. Was the last time I was in snow when I lived in Boston? Oh man, that was a long time ago.

Anyway, just taught my second Yogalates class at the YouTube House!

It was super chill and relaxing. I’d love for you to come. I’m here Monday and Tuesday as well and am leading the class from 7:30am to 8:30am. It’s free and open to the public! So far my last 2 sessions have been very cozy 🙂 Usually at POP Pilates meetups, I get over 500 of you lovely POPsters and there’s barely enough time to talk to all of you! But if you’re in the area, I would highly encourage you to come, meet some new friends, and say hi to me! I’d love to meet you! You can bring a buddy or your group of friends too. Here’s the addy:

Look for this house! You can’t miss it!

I’m currently blogging at the AirBnB Haus. The natural lighting up here is pretty amazing and there’s chill music playing all the time. I’ve never been to Sundance and am so honored to be here, but I didn’t realize that these cool “hang out” houses are a big part of the event besides the celebrities and the films. I actually found this art nook where I could just paint…for fun!

I mean…when was the last time I got to go into a place with free wifi, free food, and free activities and not be expected to buy anything? This is great marketing!!! OBVIOUSLY being inside the AirBnB Haus and loving the atmosphere made me blog about it to all of you and that is just pure genius for getting their brand out there…so really…they got what they out of it…and so did I!

The  most successful relationships are the ones where both sides feel like they are positively taking advantage of one another, but both are totally ok with it! (This means you don’t feel used…but rather, you want to keep giving to the relationship because it’s healthy and balanced!)

Talking about healthy and balanced…how has my eating been? You know I’ve always said that traveling KILLS my diet and my exercising habits but so far…I actually haven’t been too bad! One of the ways I stay healthy on the go is by eating salads. However, you have to know how to order it. I personally love Mexican salads because they are colorful, veggie-full, flavorful, and very easy to make clean. Here’s how I do it:

– Always order with no cheese or cheese on the side.

– Always ask for dressing on the side, no creamy sauces please!

– Ask your server to have the kitchen remove the crunchy fried things (totes unecessary).

– Order the lean protein – fish and chicken are great. NEVER friend and battered. Grilled please.

Then you’re pretty safe. Above my salad came with crunchies I didn’t know about and a whole tortilla underneath the salad which I just avoided. Be careful – a 12″ flour tortilla has 356 calories, 9g of fat, 60g of carbs, and 9g of protein and it will not fill you up!

Also, thank you so much for all of the amazing bday wishes! I felt your love from all over the world. You guys are the best. You really make me feel happy, confident, and LOVED! Here’s to many more years of healthy friendships! Today is the last day for my flash bday sale btw. It’s 16% off everything in the shopblogilates.com store including clearance. Finally, I’d like to leave you with a picture of this cute Samoyed puppy named “Pola” that I found at Sundance! Isn’t he just the best? So fluffy and soft. Reminds me of a teddy bear.

Ok guys, that’s all for now! Be sure to follow my instagram @blogilates to see all of my adventures! And make sure you’ve printed your week 8 meals for the New Body Makeover Challenge. If you want to start now, you definitely can! New POPsters are starting every single day. Week 1-8 are all up on the blog here. Or you can get the Fit Journal and get the whole meal plan sent to you right away.

<3 you!

Cassey

    Hi Cassie!
I have a question for you. So my lunch time at school is super early. It’s at 10am. I don’t know what to eat at that time. I’ve been skipping breakfast because I’m not very hungry by the time it’s “lunch time”. Should I just eat a regular lunch? Or eat a smaller breakfast and snack at that time? By the time I get home I’m soo hungry, because I haven’t eaten since 10am, which leads to bad snack decisions. I might start snacking in classes that I can, so I won’t be so hungry by the time I get home.

What eating schedule would you follow if you had to have “lunch” at 10am on school days?

    Thanks
    – Miranda

I’d really suggest you to eat breakfast, as it provides energy for the rest of the day and boosts your metabolism! If you’re really uncomfortable with eating breakfast, try making a smoothie or something:)
I really think it’s an early lunch for a school! Make sure to fuel your body and life with nutritious and delicious food:)
If I were you, I think I’d make a small lunch/big snack, and eat a proper, warm meal when I get home. That’s what I do at the moment, at least:)
Do what you are most comfortable with and get to know your body – it’s worth it! 🙂 <3

are you hungry before school? in this situation i might just eat some fruit before school, which is best eaten alone, and then pack breakfast for your “lunch” period, have some more fruit in the afternoon periods, then eat actual lunch after school. maybe after school lunch would have to be light if you eat dinner with your family around 6 or so, maybe a substantial smoothie or a salad. that actually sunds like a pretty good meal plan to me, eat when you are hungry and dont when you aent, no reason to put your body out of whack

Cassey, I know what you mean with regards to tortillas. They are far too high in simple carbs and lack proper nutrients.

I came up with a simple, yet healthy and nutritious recipe that I am sure many would love. Here is the recipe.

I’m glad you’re having so much fun at Sundance! As a native Parkite I have a love/hate relationship with the festival, on the one hand when else would I have the opportunity to be in the same room with the likes of Colin Farrell or Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes) or U2!!! On the other hand traffic is a nightmare!
I’m sad I don’t get to meet you because I go to graduate school in Ohio, but have fun exploring Park City! If you have time be sure to check out the Utah Olympic Park, it’s a lot of fun and there should be a lot of activity with the Olympics coming up so soon. You might even be able to see the Jamaican Bobsled team, they’ve been training at the park, and obviously thats more exciting the the movie celebrities 😉
