Stop holding yourself back. If you are unhappy, make a change.

Stop holding yourself back. If you are unhappy, make a change.

Hey guys!

Today I want to talk to you about one of my fave quotes of the moment. “Stop holding yourself back. If you are unhappy, make a change.

This one means a lot to me because a lot of us grow up thinking that our parents, our superiors, our teachers, or our bosses have the power to tell us what we should do and what we shouldn’t do. That mentality allows our society to have structure but at the same time, it sculpts an obedience that traps people from living the life they they REALLY TRULY WANT.

You have to take a moment and remove yourself from the situation and understand that you do have control over your life. Who says you have to listen to this person? Who says that they’re allowed to make you feel bad? And who says you have to feel bad at all? This is where your own power comes into play. YOU are the only one in your life who can make things happen for yourself. You just have to want it and want it bad enough.

We turn excuses into shields to protect us from what we don’t know. And sometimes…that’s a barrier to achieving your own success. You are holding yourself back!! Why would you sabotage yourself like that? Why are you scared? You have this one life to live it to the fullest, so do what it takes to be happy. To me, being happy is being successful. It is the same thing.

I hope you like these motivational pep talks. Let me know if you want to see more! It was fun to film.

BLOGILATES MAY DIETBET starts in 12 days!

Screen Shot 2014-04-24 at 10.44.35 PM

Also, next month, I am leading our 4th Dietbet! So far the Blogilates Community has lost over 84,583 recorded lbs! That is AH-MAY-ZING!!! If you are looking to lose weight once and for all, join my May Dietbet. Here’s what it’s all about.

HOW TO ENTER:

1. Go to www.dietbet.com/blogilates to join a community of POPsters who are ready to lose weight with you and support you on your journey!

2. Place a bet of $30 that you will lose 4% of your weight in 28 days. (If you are 150 lbs, that’s 6 lbs total and less than 2 lbs a week which is super safe.) Use my free clean eating meal plans and the Workout Calendar here or in the Blogilates App to make sure you make your goal!

3. May 4th is the official starting weigh-in date! Get in a bikini and take a before picture too! Then start training hard and eating clean. You’ve got this!

4. June 5th is the ending weigh-in date. Again, get in a bikini and take an after picture for memories! If at this point, you’ve lost 4% of your bodyweight or more, you will win a split of the pot! Our biggest game had $150,000 in the pot. Yup. A split of that 🙂

PRIZES:

Every single day starting April 24th til May 20th, I will be giving away a $20 gift card to www.shopblogilates.com for the person who invites the most friends to the Blogilates Dietbet game! These are our “Daily MVPs”!

Then at the end of the game, I will announce who the overall MVP is and that person will win the GRAND PRIZE which is an Apple iPad Mini!

So…encourage your friends and family to do this with you! Like I always say, the more people you have around you who support you, and have a common vision, the more successful you will be…and the more successful they will be too!

Note: This Dietbet game is for POPsters who want to join a weight loss specific community! And even though you are “betting” you are not gambling because you actually have COMPLETE CONTROL over your results! Eating clean and working out is not like being at a blackjack table 😉 The harder you work, the more disciplined you are, the better and quicker the results.

A note on cheating: Dietbet employs a team of people to check through your weigh-in entries to make sure people do not cheat. Either way…why would you want to cheat? Don’t you actually want to transform your body for real?

I WAS ON THE STEVE HARVEY SHOW!

I agree with your opinion that our lifestyle can only be change by our selfs. We are the responsibles of the purposes that we want to achieve and what do we have to do for it. All the decision that we take can change our lifes, it only depends on how you do it. You can obtain very good solutions and results if you put a big effort in it!! If you really want somethig you should work hard till get it.

I love the pep talk. I really needed it. Having lost weight before mostly due to the fact that I HAD to exercise and prove I was so I could get my last credit for PE for a homeschool course, I know I can do it but I often find myself just forgetting about it and doing something else. I’ve been overweight most of my life so I get complacent and really my only reasons for losing weight have nothing to do with how I feel in my own skin. I’m so used to bulges here and there. I want to lose weight because I know I’m unhealthy. My family on both sides have histories of diabetes and heart problems. I want to get healthy and be a role model for my son who is at risk even more than I am for health problems related to obesity due to his Northern Native genetics. Also, I want to lose weight because I REALLY miss the cute clothes!!! They just really don’t make cute or flattering clothes for big women and it sucks. And I have a problem of loving ruffles but not only am I plus sized I have the boobs to go with it so I absolutely cannot wear ruffles on my tops, it looks ridiculous.

  6. Dear Cassey,
Thank you! I LOVE your motivational talks! I also keep a book in which I write quotes that inspire me. One of them I heard/read from you once: “Don’t let small minds convince you your dreams are too big”. I also agree completely with what you say about you being the one in charge of your life. Every moment of your life you are choosing what you are giving your attention. In the end your life consists of all those moments, all those days. So don’t wait. What are you waiting for? Let yourself be led by your heart, by what you truly want, love, and know to be right for you. Fear will be there. Let your actions be inspired by love instead.

    Love outshines fear, always.

“Don’t move the way fear makes you move.
Move the way love makes you move.
Move the way joy makes you move.”
    -Osho

    Much love, Stephanie

Love this Cassey. It’s such a good reminder. I feel like it’s easy to get caught up in the “Someday I will…” or “If only things were like this then….” when it comes to our goals/motivations/dreams. I’m very guilty of getting caught up in the planning instead of the DOING when it comes to my goals, so reminders like these are always helpful. You just gotta fake it til you make it and just DO IT to make things happen <3

Wow. Just saw the Steve Harvey segment with Cassey. I felt like he could have been a little more of a good sport about trying the exercises. After all, he wanted her there!

I think Cassey handles herself very well no matter what the situation. In fact, you can see her gracious maturity as she tries to accomplish her thing. We need more Cassey’s in the world!!

  12. Isabelle says:

I just has this insight after coming back from my run this morning.
Nine years ago I moved from Switzerland to Mexico. Back home I really liked “Nordic Walking” as my exercise. I could walk for hours without feeling tired and I got a complete body workout (not that I was a regular, but I liked it). Anyway in Mexico that is not a known exercise and there is no equipment to be found. The point is though, that for about eight years I would use that as an excuse not to work out. I suffered constant back and neck pain and just kind of accepted it. Would get a massage every now and then, even went through a set of chiropractic therapy. Deep down I always knew that I needed to start working out on a regular basis to overcome those health issues. I also knew there was nothing seriously wrong with my spine or bone structure that would hinder me on working out.
A couple of years ago I came across Cassey’s workouts on youtube and loved them, but still was no regular. I kept finding excuses and at the same time would feel frustrated not to be more disciplined about it. I wanted to work out, but somehow I just couldn’t get myself to it. What most concerned me was that I really wanted to have a workout routine when I would get pregnant ( I’m not yet but gotta plan ahead, right). I am determined to have a healthy and active pregnancy. Also I don’t want to be a mom that is all worn out after running around with my two or three year old in the park. Plus everybody talks about (they are right btw) how exercising makes you feel better about life and you are healthier etc., not to forget a little bit of vanity by getting a nicer shaped body.
Well, finally a year ago I found my motivation and started running. About three weeks ago I picked up Cassey’s routines again in addition and I have never felt better.
My insight this morning was, that how long I would actually let the excuse of not having my “Nordic Walking Sticks” holding me back. I’m not beating myself up about it, because I am exercising NOW. I also know that there are stages you go through in your life where you need to choose your priorities. But I believe that it’s those priorities that make you be successful. Having goals and working towards them will make you feel that you are in the drivers seat of your life. Therefore you choose what you do and when you do it.

Thanks Cassey for your tireless work of making this world a more positive place.

      1. Rebekah says:

        Now it’s working! Yay!

  18. Rebeca says:

Thanks for those amazing words, Casey! Yo don’t know how much I’ve appreciated them! Right now I’m having one of the most saddest moments! I feel like a total failure because of myself. I’ve imagine a lot of things that I should have done by the time I turn 28 and I have not accomplish any of my goals. I felt like those words are really important right now, I’m gonna change my attitude and start seeing things in a different way! I feel so motivated! Thank you very much Casey! Love you! Regards from Venezuela!

  19. Di says:

While I love the motivational videos you’re posting, I think this dietbet is unhealthy. In general, making up a blanket rule for all individuals is bound not to fit or be appropriate for many people, and as you’ve said in videos before, it should be fitness that we all chase for, not lost weight.

    1. Ginger says:

I agree. Also, why would you diet if you already have a healthy weight?

    2. Robin says:

      Hi,
      A few weeks ago,
I signed up for Cassey’s Dietbet and the Transformer six month diet bet, which has already started. I did a lot of research and read reviews before signing up. The six month one I want to lose 20 lbs. I’ve already met my first months goal. This program has given me no excuses about eating healthy and working out. It has motivated me to eat a healthy meal instead of binging on bread or cake. I’ve made time to get up early to jog on my treadmill and to workout doing Cassey’s workouts; before I would tell myself I’m too tired. My fibromyalgia is acting up, etc…

Dietbet helps a person like me to get off the couch and get moving. I will also be competing I my first 5k run next month. :). This is the first time I’ve been this excited about working out!

  20. Kristine says:

Can you create or pair workouts for body types. I’m a pear body type and want the best exercise to target those places. I have found some from another YouTuber that have helped me tone up fast, but I miss using your videos. You’re so positive and I love your energy!

  21. Tricia says:

Is there already a place on MyBlogilates where we can talk about the day’s workouts? I don’t see a place to comment under the calendar. I would think this would already be a topic but I don’t know where to look.

  22. Jamie says:

Watching Steve Harvey interact with you… so funny!

  23. Leah says:

    Hi Cassey,

This motivation post was just what I needed today; thank you so much. I love your workouts – I’ve been following Blogilates for two years now! Unfortunately I’ve hit a snag – I sprained my ankle really badly. My doc says I’ve ripped ligaments so I should keep off it for at least four weeks. Running is my main form of cardio 🙁 Do you have any suggestions for cardio that doesn’t involve lower-body impact?

    Thanks 🙂

  24. Caitlin says:

    Hi!
It won’t let me sign up for the Dietbet Cassey!! Can I still sign up?
Please message or email me back so I know if I can place my bet or not!

    Thanks
    Caitlin

    1. blogilates says:

      hm, what’s going on?

  25. Erin says:

Just joined the bet!! I am excited to see what I can do! I will have some challenges with weekends on the road in May, but I am going to do my best. Thanks Cassey for all your help! I am really enjoying Pilates!

  26. Megan says:

    Great motivational video!

  27. Emily says:

I love the motivational video! Totally relating. It’s hard to realize that while people in your life, especially your parents, want the best for you they may not necessarily know what your heart needs. I’m getting ready to move (back) to Chicago and I think it’s the first time in my life my parents haven’t approved of my choice but I believe it will be the best for me.

Thank you for everything, Cassey! Steve Harvey seems like a riot, that video was great! And I’m loving the clothes you’re wearing and releasing! Keep it up =)

    -Emily

  28. that was hilarious, what an awesome opportunity!

  29. Zuzanna says:

Hey Cassey! Great motivational post! An I love your happy expression:) Although I don’t want to take part in DietBet , because I’m already thin and I’m even underweight. So I have an idea of DietBet in which you can also gain weight! eg 4% of your bodyweight for those who want to tone up or recover from ED 🙂 I love you so much , and fingers crossed for other POPSTERS!

  30. Carmen says:

So needed this motivation. I managed to lose weight how I wanted. Now my goal this year is to maintain the weight, but also to have flat abs and slimmer thighs. Either way, I am so proud of myself that I managed to lose 22 lbs in 6 months with Cassey! And eating clean of course.
