The Popflex On a Vacay Set
The challenge was to design a matching set that feels like a t-shirt and shorts… but can’t look like a t-shirt and shorts. So I elevated the neckline to a wide boatneck, and then created a low back inspired by Regency era gowns to balance out the high neck.
The length and high slit on the top were actually inspired by the Vietnamese traditional dress called the Ao Dai. I’ve always loved how feminine and unique that high side slit looks, so I had to bring it over to this design… except in a more casual, flirty, summery way.
OH and get this.
This set is actually MORE comfortable than an oversized tee and shorts because the ribbed fabric is soooo stretchy. There’s also a built-in bra which means you really don’t have to think about A THING when you wear this.
I’m wearing size XS and I’m 5’5”. I AM OBSESSED. I LOVE SETS. The less I can think about matching, the more time I have to think about what to eat next.
