Perfect Summer Salad + White Crops

IMG_1940

Hey guys!

Happy hump day! How are your workouts going? I’ve recently startedĀ getting super crazy excited about my workouts at the gym again. I mean, not that I wasn’t excited before…I just wasn’t super CRAZYĀ excited. I know, it sounds weird that even your instructor sometimes wants a lazy day once in a while! But it’s true. Being overwhelmed with work, the only place that I was able to sacrifice from was workout time for the past couple months. Ah! So horrendous. I’m confessing now šŸ™ I feel bad for not committing to my usualĀ 6x a week. How could I let myself slide!? And to add to it, I let my diet slip a little too! Oopsies.

But you know what, sometimes you mind and your body need a break. Things happen for a reason. I’m so happy I’m over that slump now because now I’m back with a bang!! I feel so much more energetic and happy! That endorphin rush I get after an amazing workout is what keeps me pumped! I’m back on my game!

The reason for the change? Motivation from friends, new workouts, better eating, and of course tiny results little by little!

Example of my latest salad creation for your culinary inspiration, theĀ Balsamic Chicken Strawberry Summer Salad!

summersalad

INGREDIENTS:

– 1 chicken breast

– 1/4 cup of soycutash (mixture of edamame, corn, and red pepper – you can get this at Trader Joes in the frozen section)

– 1 TBS of balsamic vinegar

– 1/2 avocado

– 2 strawberries

– 2-3 cups of organic spring greensĀ

DIRECTIONS:

1. Boil the chicken breast until nearly cooked, then chop it up into mini chunks.

2. Sautee the soycutash in a pan over high heat. If you have a nonstick pan, no need to use any oil.Ā

3. Then add in the chicken breast chunks. Pour about 1 TBS of balsamic vinegar and make sure everything gets a piece of the action! Do until corn has some slight browning on it’s surface.

4. Cut strawberries into circles. Cut avocado into slices.

5. Plate by grabbing a few handfuls of spring greens and creating a bed. Then pour your chicken/soycutash mixture on top and decorate with the strawberries and the avocado.

I hope you choose to try this combination! It’s amazing how great fruit tastes along side more savory things. If you end up making the salad hashtag it #blogilates so I can see!

Today I also want to share with you a fun fitness fashion photoshoot I did the other day with my new lens and my new white capri! At first I was like who wears white workout pants!!?? Then I put them on…

Help us, and help us to help you šŸ™‚ <3 Keep up the awesomeness! Going to do today's workout now!

It’s comforting to hear how someone as fit and motivational as Cassey do slip from time to time as well! But glad you’re over that hump šŸ™‚ and you look gorg <3

Looking good Cassie šŸ˜‰ I can’t tell you how much good you’ve done my body! It’s been about a eye and a half since I dropped 50 pounds and last fall was when I started blogilates. Now I can tell I’ve been toning up so great! Never even knew I could be so close to getting abs ^-^ just finished watching the vid on juicingb and I’m just wondering if tomatoes fall under the category of fruit. I know they technically are, but they’re treated like a veggie as far as cuisine goes, so nutritionally, I wonder. ALSO I NEED SOME HONEST OPINIONS PLEASE!!! This is pg rated so don’t be grossed out because I warned you. Before I lost weight my period would give me extreme cramps. They’d cause me to feel feverish and shaky to the point is throw up. This only happens the first day tho. After losingn weight and getting for it stopped. However it’s starting to come back, and I just know I can’t take off every month from classes this fall. I know I’m prbly going to be out on birth control. The thing is tons of people says it makes them gain a lot of weight while science says there’s no direct link to bc and weight gain. However, a lot of testimonies have me almost too nervous to even consider it, because I just would not be able to mentally handle it if I gained the weight back. So please, someone lend me some advice. The only other possibility besides regulating my hormones would be some vitamin deficiency which I doubt. What I want to hear is whether the pill REALLY makes u gain weight, or if it’s just being blamed for women who don’t realize they’re eating unhealthy

Also, screw autocorrect -_- I promise I know how to spell.

      1. mimi01590 says:

I am french so sorry if my english is bad. I am not a doctor but I have a little experience with pills, so many it can help you. Pills are hormons so the effects can be different between people. Some people can gain weight, others don’t. It depends of pills too, some can make you gain weight or acne and others don’t. Some pills are stronger than others, so if you have acne or gain weight with a strong pill may be you can try with a pill less strong. I think if you eat healthy, and do some work out, you don’t gain a lot of weight. Women are made to stock foods in order to have babies in good health (when they are humain in cavern), the progress is faster than the genetics so even if we don’t need to stock food for babies because our life is more confortable than at the time of cavern it is still true. Men can easily have muscles and women can easily have fat. When you take pills it is women hormons so it can make you easily make fat. But if you are eating healthy you may not have big problems. And you can change of pills if you see that you have gain weight, to find the pills that works the best on you. It is a bit like somniferes. One pill can work very well on your best friend and not on you because you are different. you just have to find your best way.
I think people who have gain a lot of weight because of pill, is because before the pill they don’t have very good food habits, and they don’t gain weight but they gain cholesterol or things like that. And when they took the pill, the cholesterol become fat on your belly and you can see it. So I think it is more a problem of bad food habits than really pills.
But don’t be scare, if you are eating healthy, may be the bad pill can make you gain a little weight but not too much and it can really easily go to the normal if you change.
I wish my opinion can help you, and sorry for my bad english, I wish you can understand me.

  10. Charlesthefirst says:

Hi Cassey, do you have any 30day challenges or even 60 day challenges for abs and thighs? Because I want to have a thun stomach and a thigh gap befor summer ends! Can you please make one if you don’t have one?

  11. You look stunning Cassey! Gotta get me some white capris too. Please kill us with another cardio video šŸ™‚

  12. Estelle says:

You look great in those photos Cassey! I can’t wait to try that salad. I might have to wait until it’s summer here though as I live in New Zealand and it’s winter…brrr x_x I hope you come to New Zealand one day, it’d be so much fun to work out with you šŸ™‚
Also I’m glad you wrote that bit at the start about needing a break. Something like that happened to me a couple of weeks ago. It was a friday afternoon and I was going to work out but I had just been getting so sick of pushing my mind and my body, even with my diet, so I had a complete break weekend! I slipped up with my diet and didn’t exercise. It actually really recharged me and a few days later I was excited about starting to eat clean and work out again!
Thanks Cassey for all that you do šŸ˜€

  13. Faye says:

    Hey Cassey!

It’s always hard for me to tell between a full on slump, and simply my body needing some TLC and rest. Honestly, I felt pretty awesome when I did workouts 6 days a week, but it was not uncommon for me to feel random shoulder pains or knee pains, even with good form. Lately I’ve been barely doing any exercise other than bike riding and long walks. I don’t think that’s good, and I totally need a way to motivate myself to do pilates and strength based exercising again, but it’s hard to find motivation. It’s hard to find my personal ideal workout rhythm, and even more so, a comfortable place to work out!

    PS You look adorable!

  14. Cara says:

Thank you for being so real. It’s refreshing and motivating to hear a fitness instructor and (in my humble opinion) icon in the making be so forgiving and generous toward her body. šŸ™‚ your workouts are challenging, your enthusiasm is catching, but it is your promotion of body positivity (for EVERYONE at EVERY size and stage of their journey) as well as your promotion of flexibility in life and fitness terms that really sets you apart. Thank you for everything that you do. You are a source of light and goodness.

  15. Greta says:

Sooo, for the chest presses/pulses… Last, most delicious, cookie ever in the world is between your forearms. Don’t drop it! xD

  16. Katie says:

    Hey Cassey,

it really motivates me, that you find back after struggling (never thought you would even struggle). But this makes me feel better. I did April and May calendar, all vids daily but then I got injured and couldn’t do all vids and my wedding was somewhere in between and I lost track of working out daily – but since two weeks I am slowly getting back on track I guess. I’m doing every day a little bit, (the last two days it was 2 vids each). Well I guess thats a good start.

Thanks for being such an inspiration and for all those inspiring vids. They make me feel soooo good šŸ™‚
    Love,
    Katie xxx

  19. Alexis says:

Cassey those pictures look amazing! What lens/camera did you use?!
Thank you for being such an inspiration and for allowing me to find workouts that I ENJOY doing and completely changing my lifestyle for the better.

  20. Kat* says:

Firstly, Cassey you look BEAUTIFUL in those photos, that colour-combo is so fresh and vibrant but still perfectly feminine – LOVE!
Secondly, I have also really been struggling with motivation recently; I was on holiday and then unexpectedly moved to take up an internship position and have really been struggling to keep my diet and exercise on-track. It’s so nice to know I’m not the only one who has these “lapses”, and I really hope that like you I can find my groove and get back to working out super hard! Thank you for your help and support through everything, you are such an inspiration! <3 <3 <3
