Jackelyn and I are really trying to do our stretching classes at least 2 times a week, and so far, so good! I am beginning to get lower in my middle splits which is so cool! It’ll take a long time but I am happy there is progress, no matter how small. Honestly – I really never thought I’d ever get there in my lifetime. It just seemed so impossible.
But you know what? I really do believe that if you keep trying hard enough at something, it will happen one day. But to a point of course. This would not apply to things that cannot be changed like your ethnicity and your age, for example. Hmmm…but who knows actually…maybe one day people might choose to identify age fluid? You never know!
DAY 8 RECAP:
First of all, I am SO SAD that my Fit Journal got wet! I accidentally threw a bag of frozen veggies on top of it and didn’t notice until 5 minutes later 🙁
Anyway, yesterday I did weight lifting at 7:15am with Sam and then later took Stretch class with Jackelyn at 11:30am. After Stretching, my sister and I went to Mendocino Farms and ordered salads for lunch! We devoured them while discussing POP Retreat 2020. Which by the way guys…I’m going to announce the date and location in the next couple weeks! GET EXCITED!!!
I ordered the Chicken Cobb Salad and it was delicious! I took the bleu cheese off because I cannot stand bleu cheese! To me it smells like stinky armpits. Eew.
A couple hours later, I tried the Blueberry Keto Smoothie from Lassens, a local health food store. It was absolutely incredible! But also…$8.99! So I went on their site and checked out the ingredients because I am TOTES going to make this at home.
Blueberry Keto Smoothie Ingredients:
- Organic Blueberries
- Nuzest Vanilla Protein
- Organic avocado
- Unsweetened almond milk
- MTC oil
Total Net Carbs: 16g
For dinner, I had the leftover koobideh with a ton of asparagus. I squeezed Sriracha all over it and it was SO YUM.
There you go guys! I’m currently playing Settlers of Catan and trying to write this blog post at the same time (in between turns). I’m getting very close to maybe winning, so I need to focus! Anyway, I’ll let you know what happens tomorrow! Have a great start to your weekend!

That’s Jackelyn on the first pic!!?! Damn, I didn’t recognize her :O You almost make me want to work on my splits even though that’s not my priority. I still like your lunch and dinner meals. That smoothie might be good but shit, $8.99 is way too pricey!!!!
really nice content. the real secret is not what we do but what we eat. clink on the link if you wanna try the amazing keto… https://bit.ly/2PnL1D4
I can’t wait my sister’s return from Holland. We are a great team like you two. 💞
LOVE settlers of cation!
Your positive attitude is so motivating 🙂 Can’t wait to hear about the rest of the 90 days!
Thank you for the recipe! I’ve got everything but the MCT oil…but bet I can sub something for it.
Try coconut oil 🙂
You go girl. You have totally changed my attitude towards strength training. The way you give instructions prove that you are passionate about the physics of it all. I have never heard any one be so precise, succinct and effective at the same time. I love you.
To those who don’t like these posts, it is great you have the option not to follow her, you can follow, like and support the type of person you admire and inspire you! I do love you Cassey! You are so brave and transparent! You are much younger than me and I look forward to your posts every day!
People who use ‘TOTES’ and have the luxury of spending small fortunes on over priced smoothies need a reality snap. Normal people don’t have time to casually go to stretch classes and go to cafés for salad and smoothies. This is one of those ‘hey look at me and my Instagram influenced life’ vlogs that makes me wanna spew
People who deliberately interact with content that makes them angry need a reality snap. Why do you care so much what other people do? Worry about YOUR life and doing the things that make YOU happy instead of trying to tear others down. Go outside, pet a dog or something. Lol
Was there anything positive at all in that post?
Hi, Cassey! Just wanted to keep it short after reading some of the preachy, negative comments you have to endure, please know that you have immeasurably changed many lives and given a precious gift to millions of us. Please, please don’t give a voice in your head to those who thoughtlessly judge.
Blueberry Keto shake recipe, thanks for the recipe. i am going to buy the ingredients and make it. I have to look up MTC oil. never heard of it or used it. doing day 22 of the #100gluten challenge. See how it goes.

Thank you for sharing . I was wondering if you had some good recipes for presbyterian ?
Hey Cassie!! Wanted to know what stretches you do
I go to a specific class where they do tons of front split and middle split stretches. A lot I have done in my splits challenges on the blog! Here it is: https://www.blogilates.com/30-days-30-stretches-to-splits-journeytosplits/
That is cool to share your blueberry keto shake recipe. I am starting my own workout journal, you can get it soooooo much cheaper at Walmart for even half the cost you paid for the one you have. It looks just like yours.
I absolutely love that you play Catan. My coworkers taught me last year and I am hooked!
It is actually so much fun!
Hey Cassie! I just wanted to say you’re such an inspiration to me. I have struggled with body image for a pretty long time. And you are the one who helps me realize I AM IN CONTROL, every time I think I lost it or that I never had it. Thank you. And I love what you’re doing with this 90 days challenge, after all the support you have given me, it is amazing to see you doing stuff for yourself and your overall health. You are one of the strongest people in the media I have ever seen. You go girl!
Yes, you are in control!
Do you like century eggs if you dislike blue cheese?
What exactly are century eggs?
Cassie, I’m so, so, so happy you’re doing this. I was there when the whole “abc abs” situation happened and the one thing I admire the most of you is your positivity and your attitude. There’s people who support you and want to see YOU become YOU again. Remember that the happier you are your “happy vibes” stock that you share with us popsters increases. Keep rocking on!
Cassie, the blueberry keto smoothie sounds great, blueberry is a super fruit. Please let us know the amounts if you know them because I think the amounts are really important for keto carb counting. Also I feel like I am talking to my better but I hope you are making sure you get enough sleep too. I remember you made a vid on that once also love you so much Cassie!
Hate to say it but that’s not keto, not with those net carbs. That’s why blueberries typically are not keto friendly. Swap for strawberries, blackberries or raspberries and you’ll have a better keto recipe.
In her first post, she said she was doing lazy keto, not full on keto 🙂 she specifically mentioned not wanting to be restricted by what fruits she eats.
Getting into the splits is very exciting! Daily yoga got me into the front splits and middle splits way quicker than I ever expected! One day, they just happened!
I’m 35 kg over weight ,I don’t lose weight what ever I do ,, can you help me
That is so cool!!
I love that you are blogging daily! It is so motivating to read through! Thanks and good luck with your goals 🙂
I remember a news story from Europe last year where a man in his 60s was trying to legally change his age because he “felt younger” and that if he could legally say he was in his 40s he would be able to get better dates on Tinder. It was pretty absurd. I’m all for gender and sexual fluidity but this was a bit much.
Also, never would have expected you to play board games like Settlers of Catan. Love it!
What? That is crazy. What ended up happening with the guy?
The courts ruled he couldn’t do it. I don’t remember much else but yeah, so strange.
I actually have all of those ingredients in my house already so even though I’m not doing keto I can basically make that smoothie. I’m all about the berries in my smoothies.
I’m very impressed that you continue to be so open about your feelings, thoughts and daily training/food routine despite all the negativity you get. Thank you so much for this!
At the same time seeing that almost all you eat is animal products + fruit/vegetables makes me very sad. You wrote that vegan food made you feel lethargic but maybe you didn’t get it right at first try. Often people just leave out the meat/eggs and that’s about it. You should introduce legumes, nuts, seeds and whole grain foods into your meal plan instead. A (lazy) keto diet helps to lose weight in the short term but if you did it for a lifetime you would create a HUGE impact on the environment using so much more space, water, plants just to birth animals so that they can be killed for humans to eat them.
– It takes 2,500 gallons of water, 12 pounds of grain, 35 pounds of topsoil and the energy equivalent of one gallon of gasoline to produce one pound of feedlot beef.
-Because of over-consumption of fish, all 17 of the world’s major fishing areas have reached or exceeded their natural limits. One-third of the world’s fish catch is fed directly to livestock.
-70% of US grain production is fed to livestock.
-5 million acres of rainforest are felled every year in South and Central America alone to create cattle pasture.
-Roughly 20% of all currently threatened and endangered species in the US are harmed by livestock grazing.
-Animal agriculture is a chief contributor to water pollution. America’s farm animals produce 10 times the waste produced by the human population.
If every person ate like you it would not leave space for us to live and breathe because it would all be used for mass livestock farming. Despite all the environmental aspects we have increasingly strong scientific results that show how animal products are not healthy if consumed daily. You can tolerate small doses but are healthier on a whole food plant based diet. Sure, a sausage per week (a processed meat, part of class one carcinogens = known human carcinogens aka definitely cause of cancer as e.g. smoking, alcohol or radioactivity) won’t kill you but it also won’t be good for you. Because there are not only proteins and Vitamin B12 in there but also saturated fat, residue of antibiotics, faecal residue/faecal bacteria, curing salts and more stuff that has not yet been identified. Have a look at Dr. Michael Gregers books/videos. https://nutritionfacts.org/ https://nutritionfacts.org/topics/weight-loss/ On top of the sustainability and health issues of an animal product heavy diet those creatures are forced to suffer for us. Impregnated, milked, tortured, killed. We just decided to call that normal and ignore their suffering. Yeah, I know: But bacon though!!!
We don’t see pigs/cows/chicken/fish as animals but food. Imagine Sir George was used to impregnate little female puppies so that the bear more cute doggies which we would take away to have very tender baby meat and drink their milk. And of course the meat of the adult animals would be eaten to. Minced meat makes even older meat delicious, right? Sorry for being slightly cynical. I’m just having a hard time at understanding how people still ignore this topic. On the other hand I used to love meat too. But even tough I might still like the taste just knowing what the consequences of eating animal products are stops me from doing so.
When going vegan I started cooking daily whole plants (whole grains, vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, legumes) and, eating the same dish for lunch and dinner. Over the course of a year I went from 86kg (189 pounds according to google) to 77kg (169 pounds) being 1.78m tall (5.8 foot) and having quite a lot of muscle for a female. I never went hungry, I never counted calories or did restrict my food. I just ate plants until I was full. All those years before I’ve tried eating no carbs, running, more sports, less food – I never lost weight permanently, I just went down 2-3 kilograms for a period of a month or two. I’m heavily convinced that a plant based diet is best for our body, the planet, the animals and to curb climate change. I’d love you to read more into this topic. I know, you don’t have much time as a busy entrepreneur. But this could change your whole life and make you an even more inspiring role model. Sorry if I sounded preachy. This ist just a topic very close to my heart and it makes me almost depressed how people eat tons of animal products without knowing the consequences of it.
Wish you all the best!
To each their own. Different things work for different people. Just because plant based diet works for you, it doesn’t have to work for others. Cassey doesn’t eat meat all that often, so please, just leave her be. We are all doing our best. It doesn’t have to be all or nothing, if you cut one portion of meat a week, you are still doing great! Stop making people feel guilty about what they eat.
“To each their own” sounds rational and compassionate – but is it really when you’re talking about a choice that negatively impacts our environment, and even more obviously has a victim, which is the animal that is abused and killed for food?
And additionally, we’re not talking about one small portion of meat a week (not that that would be okay in my opinion, I’m pointing that out just for reference). Cassey includes meat or animal derived products in every meal she eats and almost every snack as well, as I too have noticed.
If you feel guilty after reading these kinds of comments – or feel like they make others feel guilty – let me say that what I’m trying to do, and I assume Franziska as well, is help spread information and knowledge because I’m convinced that people are inherently kind and compassionate and do want to make choices that reflect these feelings. It’s just really difficult to imagine why someone wouldn’t want to make that choice – all the more so if you’re a public figure and role model. And yes, a balanced vegan diet is considered adequate for all stages of life, so it’s quite probable that it does “work for others” as well when you’re doing it right :).
stop preaching, jeez. i’m sure cassey, as a fitness instructor and all around healthy person, knows the benefits of a vegan diet. but again, vegan diets do not work for everyone. not everyone can afford vegan diets (have you heard of food deserts?). to say that you can’t understand why someone wouldn’t want to make that choice is very privileged of you. there are tons of reasons why some people CANNOT make that choice. there are tons of people who can and simply don’t want to, but help the environment in other ways. kindly worry about yourself, thanks!
Nobody likes to be told what to do. Even if those facts you are told are scientifically proven. There are always exceptions but there are always excuses, too. Each to their own sounds very liberate but actually we all live on the same plantet and so it’s our shared responsibility to care for it. I have no idea what a food desert is but I know that vegetables, fruit, legumes/beans (especially when bought dried), seeds, nuts and (whole grain) pasta/rice are a lot cheaper than buying meat or processed food. Yes, if you want to substitute everything you ate with a vegan alternative it is going to be expensive. You might need to learn how to cook and season your own food so that you don’t have to buy a beyond meat burger with plant based cheese and a vegan yoghurt for every meal. I prepare multiple servings of vegan food at one time which saves me a lot of time and money.
I totally understand that people are lazy and like to stick to their habits, changing and learning takes effort. But our climate is changing rapidly and there is just no denial to that. Hence we have to make a change. I’m just worrying about the planet we all live on, you know.
I love settlers and we have played it for years 😊
Hi Cassey!! So proud of you, thank u so much for inspiring us !!! From Paris, with love
16 net carbs is a lot when your only allotted 20. Looks good and sounds good but no thanks
It’s sound you are doing a great job at the diet and exercise. Keep up the great work. I am sure it will get better and easier the most you do it.
That smoothie sounds delicious.
Thank u so much ❤ Love u a lot
All kind of splits seems to be impossible for me, but after reading this who knows, maby one day… But it hurts so much… 😭😅
dear Cassie, thank you so much for sharing your latest journey with us. I have been doing your work outs (off and on) for a few years now and just love your energy!! while I have struggled with my weight for many years, I do know that loving ourselves how we currently are, while also demanding/requiring self-improvement is vital to overall physical, spiritual, mental & emotional health & wellness. Thank you so much for not listening to ‘the haters’ and instead being real (and vulnerable), and sharing your thoughts with us on your blog. I am inspired by you, your positive energy and zest for life. thank you so much for crafting accessible and fun workouts, delicious and healthy recipes, and beautiful exercise clothing, etc. with your fashion lines.
(p.s., I really want to get one of your awesome (and super cute!) fitness journals, but I’m lefty and can’t stand journals with giant spirals because they are more difficult to write in. any chance you’ll be able to sell a ‘lefty’ version, or spiral-free version in the future that lays flat when open? just a thought. thanks for reading & considering it.)
yours truly in Utah
Hey Patrina! Oh no, I am sorry the spirals bother your hand! Hmm I will need to look into flat style journals next!
Omg! Retreat 2020!!! I can not wait to go. I had so much fun at this last one. I have already started looking at dresses in my closet and on line for POP prom. O cassey, all the feels girl, all the feels.
SO MANY FEELS
Hahaha age fluid I love that! 😆
I mean, you never know!
