WORKOUT DETAILS

Hey guys!

Hope your Monday is off to a fantastic start! Let me ask you a question:

panda

I did! I did! Did you? If not, pick your booty up and get on it! Sometimes you may not feel like it but afterwards there is no regretting a good sweat sesh. Post workout happiness is what I live for!! CLICK HERE to go to today’s workout.

headstand

Also guys! Lookie lookie! If you’ve been following me on Instagram, you saw that I have religiously been practicing my headstand for about a month now. Majorly wobbly in the beginning. Majorly scared of falling and whacking my body into the ground. Majorly timid. But you know what? Falling aint so bad as long as you can get up and try again! Many times I failed. But here I am! Upside down!

Yesterday when I was practicing and I FINALLY found my inner balance. I did it guys! Never did I ever think this was possible for me. I’m not a gymnast (my own parents kicked me out of gymnastics when I was a wee child after they saw how bad I was!) or an acrobat…but you know what? I am a hard worker and I am persistent! From only a 3 sec hold a a few weeks ago to yesterday where I was able to kick up by myself, balance, and hold for over 10 sec!!

YAY!! I am sooooo happy! It feels like I am a child again because the more I practice, the better I get each time! The feeling is so rewarding. It’s purely the simple joy for LEARNING SOMETHING NEW. I’m going to keep working on this one until I can do a handstand and then of course other more poses that will require more flexibility! Will update you soon. Oh btw, many of you have asked for a video on how to do this but until I am much much better at this I can’t show you just yet 🙂

Now! Since you all loved EXTREME ABS so much, I decided it was necessary for me to do EXTREME INNER THIGHS!! So here it is. Do it.

Also, if you don’t have a power ring you can either GET IT HERE, use a mini ball, or use nothing at all and just simulate the movement. A pillow maybe be good too. But don’t use a hula hoop. You’re going to crack it!!

Also, did you have a chance to see my protein peach cobbler with Kevin (from Fitmencook on Instagram) last week? If not, watch! Obviously!! This recipe was so delish. Plus it was super cool to meet a new friend on set.

Alrighty love ya guys! Keep training hard and eating well!

<3 Cassey

I’ve mentioned my first hand stand against the wall today. Before I was always too afraid. But now I definitely wanna do it without the wall!! :-).

That headstand picture is inspirational beyond belief.

I would love to do such arm balances but I am too stupid and scared of falling 🙁 need so much training..

Hi, Cassie! I noticed a lot of your workouts aren’t one weighttraining.com and was wondering if there is some other way that I can find out how much calories each workout burns? thanksss

Is there a best way to start out practicing the head stand? That’s something I would like to learn to do as well!

    1. tinny says:

Just remember that even though you are in a headstand, the weight should be evenly distributed between your arms with as little as possible weight on your neck. Do dolphin pose, and walk your feet in close, and hold your pony tail! That is really a good cheat for learning! Bend your knees (Can you do teddybear pose? With your knees on your triceps – half headstand?) Progress from there; try just putting your knees into your chest, not extending your legs at all.
Some people find it easier with forearms on the ground (progress from Dolphin pose) while others find it easier to balance with hands flat on the ground so you can use your biceps and triceps for balance.
      HOPE THIS HELPS! 🙂

Hi Cassey, I love your blog, I totally understand your excitement about handstands and learning new things in general as I am into pole dancing so I am going through a similar experience (I have no gymnastics nir acrobatics backgrounds either. In fact, I have always been sort of a couch potato instead!). I would like to ask you a question about Stevia as I read there are maximum daily intakes that should not be exceeded. Could you please ket me know what uou think about this? How much stevia do you recommend? I see you use it quite a lot in your recipes. Thanks!!

I would like to try the food, but I don’t have dishes like that (I don’t think so at least) and I keep spending too much money trying new things like this. I really want to though because it doesn’t sound too expensive.

  8. What perfect timing! I was just trying to do a headstand last night and I got discouraged pretty quickly. I watch my friends who are former gymnasts who just crush yoga poses on their first try and I get so frustrated when it takes me forever to get every pose! I’ve been doing yoga regularly for 2 years now and I still am nowhere close to any type of split or headstand. I’ve never been flexible or particularly strong in the upper body. I’m going to give it another try after my run tonight, though – you’ve inspired me! Thank you for writing about exactly what I needed to read!

  9. Coolio! Haha, love the picture of your headstand. I’m working on it but I know I def. have to be more consistent with it. Do you find that you have to lift from your core when you do it? Or just your legs, etc.? It’s tough figuring out what exactly I need to tense up to actually get up without assistance.

    1. Madinah says:

A POPster Promise on the burpees! 🙂

  11. Arianna says:

Hi Cassey. Can you please come to the ATL. It would be extremely fun and great to see you.

  12. Gera says:

I absolutely love your workout videos and recipes!!! Thank-you

  13. Christine says:

What’s the song used in the extreme thigh workout? 🙂

  14. Shannon says:

    Come to St. Louis, Missouri!!

  15. Sarah says:

Cassey, you should include Montreal, Canada in your tour! My best friend and I love pilates and you have honestly changed our life! There are some really great healthy vegan restos in Montreal also great shopping! It would be sooooo fun!!! Love you <3

  16. Sarah says:

Cassie!!!! Help – you’ve started doing recipe videos with all kinds of processed ingredients, like protein bars and protein powder and butter extract! Have you really looked into what these items contain and where their ingredients come from? Are they really truly “clean”?
I loved your Cheap Clean Eats – was my favorite!

    1. Ela says:

Quest bars (the protein bars she uses in the recipes) and many (but obviously not all) protein powders are all clean 🙂 Just because it’s processed doesn’t mean it isn’t clean! I don’t know about the butter extract though. It’s probably not the greatest but a tiny bit as opposed to tons of butter in a recipe won’t hurt you in the grand scheme of things as long as you’re eating clean.

    2. Aenia Amin says:

If you look at the ingredients of quest bars and the protein powders that Cassey uses, they are simple to understand, and there are no long lists of unknown ingredients. I agree with Ela, processed doesn´t mean it is not clean. Garbanzo beans, natural peanut butter, cottage cheese, etc. all come in prepackaged containers, but they are clean. Quest bars taste great and are way cleaner and healthier than many other protein bars on the market. We live in a society of processed food, and it is imposible to avoid processed food 24-7. The best we can do is to find the best alternatives and the best options among them all. In my opinion, even if it contains certain questionable ingredients (sucralose, non-hydrogenated palm oil, etc.), I always ask myself if it is the best alternative to its nonhealthy counterpart. For example, Justin´s Chocolate Hazelnut Butter contains palm fruit oil, but it is still clean, because it is way healthier than Nutella (and its many knockoffs like Nocilla). When one starts to obsess over tiny details like this, life becomes tedious, and it is hard to enjoy life (in my opinion). As long as we do our best, the rest will follow. And in the grand scheme of things, making substitutes (even if they do not seem 100% clean- which the majority of foods nowadays are not) is much better than the original. For example, butter extract to give the flavor instead of the traditional tons of butter. I hope this helped!!

You should tour to St. Louis, Missouri!!!!!

  18. Angela Kim says:

Hi Cassey!!! When you go on your tour, please please please come to Grove City College! I’d totally organize a big pilates workout event and make all of the Grovers into Popsters. 🙂 🙂

  19. Tina says:

Cassey, you should totally come to Romania. But if you come, can you please NOT go to Bucharest and actually come in the western part? The area is more beautiful and the people are way nicer. And if you would come, i suggest going Cluj, or my home town, Hunedoara. If you decide to do an international tour, it would be a dream come true to meet you in person. I love you Cassey and you actually changed my life. Thank you for everything you have done

  20. Kathy says:

Hey Cassey! The new workout video is nice, but unfortunatly I don’t have a power ring. Is there something else I can use or replace this workout with?

    Thank you so much!
    Kathy

    Hi Cassy!

Repeating what Owl is saying, we are not able to choose different videos on the blog, I can only watch the “main” one! 🙁
    On youtube it is working.

    Thanks!

  22. Hey I’m working on my headstand too! Can you do the tripod? Its easier.

Also, I’d be super psyched if you did a cardio series. Like a cardio HIIT, cardio never stop, cardio pylometrics, etc. 🙂

  23. It’s like you read my mind – these stubborn inner thighs :/

I already worked out today *raises hand* but I’m definitely going to try this out tomorrow.

    Thanks!

  24. Owl. says:

Great new vid! Thanks a lot! It was great fun! 🙂

Not sure if you ve seen my comments (and other popster’s comments) on not being able to choose different videos on blogilates 🙁

    Can this somehow be fixed?
