WORKOUT DETAILS

Oh man. I had soooo much fun filming this one. My sister did the filming and I did the editing. Thanks to YouTube’s new camera and shotgun mic, I was able to use better equipment to make this. Obviously, still a lot of stuff to learn. I think the shotgun was too good…it even got the tennis balls bouncing in the back. Oh well!

I liked adding in a fun intro in the beginning to give my videos more of a story. What do you think? It makes it more entertaining to watch right? I mean, I’m no comedian or professional writer/producer but today I came to a realization that I don’t have to just make straight up workout videos forever. I love that I can add some flavor this way. That’s why YouTube is so great…you can play with ideas and just publish. No executive director to ask permission from!

This is a video us Next Trainers did for our homework this week. We were all asked to create a video for post holiday workouts or something along those lines. I thought pretty long about what I should do because I had already created the Thankful Thighs video earlier in the week for Thanksgiving, and I wanted to use this opportunity to get a little more creative. Umm so I guess I concluded with food babies.

Hahaha.

Have any of you ever had a food baby before? I bet we all have. It’s when you basically look pregnant from eating. It’s ridic. Just completely ridic. So I thought, hey why not do a food baby banishing workout for a post Thanksgiving “let’s get back in shape” video? So I did!

Some hardships I had were trying to create a pregnant belly. I tried a snow jacket. Didn’t work. Too bumpy. Then a ball of sweaters. Nope. Then a soccer ball. Nope. Then a bed pillow. Nope. I finally ended up using a mini pillow. That worked. Why didn’t I think of that in the beginning.

Try the workout! IT IS TOUGH. I think the hardest workout I have filmed for you guys. The star squats at the beginning killed me. You can see me die at the end…literally. So make sure you make it the whole way through to get to that part.

Also, make sure you are subbed to “BlogilatesTV” because I will be posting all new workouts on this channel from now on. All FOOD Bites and fitness fashion stuff will go here too. It’s just easier for me to manage one channel.

Thanks for watching! Have a wonderful Sunday!

<3 Cassey

Omg, I discovered this workout saturday and loved it so much, I did it three days in a row haha! Could you do more videos like this?
    Love your energy 🙂

  4. If you have to buy all of your current baby supplies yourself,
you can spend a fortune without due cause.

Having access to free baby stuff will make all the difference in the world.
People who like their products would likely stick
to their products if they find it very effective for their
    baby.

who controls the camera in all of these

  7. Libby says:

    I don’t have a dumbbell, what do I do?

    1. Caren says:

If you don’t have a dumbbell you could always use a can of veggies or something. I have dumbbels but I lift heavy and wouldn’t want to throw those around lol, so I will be using a can or something.

  8. Grace says:

I love your workout videos! Have you ever considered making a video for exercises you can do while watching a move or tv show or being on the computer? There would be no excuse in not doing those exercises 🙂

  9. Sarah says:

I just signed up for your newsletter and got the may calender. This is the first one I’m trying…can’t *gasp* breathe… hahaha why did this have to be the first one? Had to stop halfway through to catch my breath. About to push play again. Wish me luck! =D

So I am currently teaching English in Taiwan. I was in great shape before I left, and for the last six months I’ve been eating nothing but rice, dumplings, and noodles. Obviously I gained weight. Now I’m trying to lose it. Half way through this video I threw up, ha. Needless to say, I will keep doing this one until I can do it like Cassey!

Those star squats are so much harder than burpees. Just needs practice maybe.

  15. Lara says:

I did this workout for the first time this morning. Boy, was it hellish but beautiful at the same time. I wasn’t able to complete each part fully or perfectly, but I want to continue doing it until I can. I love that your workouts are original and not boring. A lot of workouts contain the same old, same old. Your workouts are fun and entertaining and go by fast! And boy, do they make me hurt! <3 <3 <3

  16. Lynda says:

    Dear Cassey.

I love you. This is the workout for me. IT IS CALLING MY NAME. For the last few months I’ve been eating too fast, too much, and have been generally bloated after EVERY MEAL. I feel like I’m carrying a 3rd trimester food baby ALL THE TIME. I can’t wait to try this work out omg.

    1. Jen says:

Food babies. WHY MUST THEY COME TO ME D: I’ve been eating too fast and too much too 😀

OOH cool! I also found some info also on how to aid digestion to get rid of that food baby, and wrote a post on it. I think it matches well with this workout 🙂 I hope you enjoy the additional tips! http://www.webebodymovin.com/how-to-improve-digestion.html

    Your workoutclothes is so cute.
And the workout looks great, but I tend to get kneeproblems from those moves. Have you got any ideas, how to avoid the pain or make my knees stronger?

Awesome job on editing this one! It’s a killer workout, and the new equipment makes such a huge difference. I’m an audio/video producer, and my only complaint on your other videos is that sometimes it’s hard to see or hear your instructions, especially on videos shot on a phone. A better mic and a clearer image is great news!

For the mic, if you’re shooting outside, you might want to try a directional mic that won’t pick up all the side noise like the shotgun. Inside, the shotgun would be fine if you turn off fans and appliances. I would recommend trying out different mics – you can rent them on the cheap for a while just to figure out what’s best for you.

    1. blogilates says:

Hey! Thanks for the advice. I used a shotgun in this one. I think that’s why you can hear me breathe more than usual. I am not sure what I should use because the lapels will run against my skin. Are there “Madonna” style headsets avail for filming? Are they expensive?

      1. LP says:

I’m not sure if Madonna-style mics are still “in vogue” but there should be other options. I don’t know what kind of camera/audio setup you’re using, so it might be best to find a local video producer who could give you specific advice on equipment and setup (maybe trade for workouts?). But the easiest step is to point your camera and mic in the direction of the least noise – away from roads, tennis balls, basketball games, etc.

        1. blogilates says:

Haha ok – I guess we just use those in the group fitness rooms then 🙂 OK next time, no more filming at the courts!

  23. Christine Fore says:

Well I asked for a cardio workout and you definitely delivered. I look forward to being able to do this workout without having to pause in the middle to catch my breath. Thanks Cassey, you inspire me.

    1. blogilates says:

No prob!!! This was a hard one, stop of you have to.

  24. Maud says:
