WORKOUT DETAILS

Hey guys! Yesterday I taught my first ever international POP Pilates meetup class! It was sooooo much fun. Aussie POPsters were so enthusiastic and vocal! I have a ton of pics to show you, will blog on this later in conjuction with my Lorna Jane shopping spree experience. The weird thing about vacations is that you somehow end up either not having time for anything or you just crash on your bed when you try to do something at the end of the day. My check list does not like me this week!

Also, I filmed a challenge video yesterday and we had some awesome scenery…then when I came home to edit it, half of my footage was damaged. I have no idea why?? It was the saddest thing ever. Maybe it had something to do with the downpour Jackelyn and I were stuck in at the Opera House. Oh well. Will try to refilm a quickie one today! But for us POPsters who actually read my blog and aren’t just getting YouTube new video notifications – you’re in luck! I’m gonna tell you what your challenge is this week. Right now. Right here.

WEEK #7 Blogilates Challenge: Kick the Condiment

Your challenge this week is to pick one condiment you’re eating daily (ie. ketchup, mayo, ranch, BBQ sauce, salt) that you think you can’t live without and KICK IT. For 7 days. And just so you feel better, I’ll kick my sriracha hot sauce. Condiments make food taste better but they also have a TON of sugar, fat, and sodium. You can pile it on if you’re not careful. This will also allow you to enjoy what real food tastes like. I’ll talk more about the challenge in the video plus great substitutes. But for now, pick something you wanna kick.

And your mini challenge within this challenge is to tweet me a vote for the Shorty Awards! The nominations end Feb 17 so we only have a few days left to make a difference. Blogilates is one of the top contenders for the #socialfitness award and guess what. We are the underdog. We’re up against celebs and supplement companies – let’s show the judges who we are and why we deserve to be recognized! I mean c’mon, Blogilates is motivating healthy lives through YouTube, Tumblr, this blog, facebook, twitter, and Pinterest! How socially fit can we get!!??? Hahaha. Please please please vote if you love our community. It would mean the world to me.

And tell them why you love Blogilates. The more creative/clever the tweet, the more points we get too!!! So get cray cray!!!

Alrighty, and as you can see, there’s a new POP Pilates workout up!!! How exciting is that? We filmed this is Cairns, Australia which is where the Great Barrier Reef is located. The scenery was excellent. But what you don’t know is that this video was NOT supposed to happen.

Jackelyn and I were at Port Douglas on the beach at 6am SHARP on Friday. We had about 2 hours to get the POP Pilates DVD filmed before the sun came out to scorch me. We set up shop, played the music, starting filming, and just as I was going onto my second song, the water nearly swallowed me up!!! The tide was going up!!?? Umm, ok. We did not do research on the tides, and we should have, because I just ASSUMED that the tide would be low til about noon and come up after that? So dead wrong. We kept moving my mat closer and closer to the drier parts of the shore but before you knew it, the sun was out and sandflies and mosquitoes were attacking me. Yup, so POPsters, our first attempt at the DVD shoot was unsuccessful! The Ho sisters have a lot to learn about beach shooting! The 10 min of footage we did get was gorgeous though…up until the part where I ran away because a small wave was about to eat my hair!

Yup, so we decided to make lemonade out of lemons I suppose and film at least SOMETHING!!!! After all, I was dressed up and everything. So we found a shady pier and did the Long Lean Legs workout you see above.

Something to learn my friends…when things don’t workout, don’t give up!!!! Make the best of the situation, shrug your shoulders, and say hey, life happens. Move on.

Yup, so that’s all POPsters. Watch for my new challenge video later and try the workout above! It also kills your butt too.

<3 Cassey

I meant: For every hour and a half an hour I sit, I do a couple of your videos.

    Hi there,

I discovered your videos in youtube last Friday. I loooooove them. There are so many of them and they are so well organized in your blog… it really helps to create a fun rutine.

I am at the moment unemployed (not for long, I hope), so I spend a lot of time sitting in front of the computer sending cover letters and CV. So this is my rutine: for every half an hour I sit, I do a couple of your videos. I know it’s better to do everything together once a day, but this helps me take my mind of the job hunting and, at the same time, I move and strech a little bit.

I also signed up today in http://www.myfitnesspal.com and I am recording all my meals and snacks. I even include how much water I drink. It’s fun. I am hoping in a few weeks I will have lost those 4 kg I gained when I came back home for Xmas from China (I worked there for a year).

Question: I would like to do a very light POP pilates workout as soon as I wake up. Something short and light, because I usually need to eat soon after I get up. Today I did the ‘POP Pilates for Beginners – Total Body Workout’ but it was a little bit too long. I was starving and I ended up eating 3 slices instead of 2 slices of toast (they are small, but it was completely uncalled). What do you recommend?

Have fun in Australia! I hope I will end up working there soon 🙂

    Greeting from Spain!

  9. Tatyana says:

I think I will have to ditch the salt because just like hayley said: I salt so many things before even trying them :-/ the only ‘sauces’ I use are mustard and sometimes ketchup and I know these two are really low cal.

  10. Maud says:

Cassey I totally love your new workout! and as I’m obsessed with my legs and calves (they’re too bulky..ewwwwww not sexy!) that’s perfect..just a quick question, the last two exercices are NOT gonna make my calves bigger right ? I never know with this kind of exercices;; same thing about the calves raises..some traimers say they make calves biggers, and others say the opposite….I’m lost….
keep going Cassey you’re the best (I don’t have a lot of time, but I’m always here, I don’t write, but I still your blog and your FB page!miss you!)

    1. blogilates says:

Miss u too! Do not worry about bulky calves unless u do a million of them. All it will do is harden them up!

  11. Bella says:

I loved that workout! My legs are burning! Plus, don’t feel bad…I can’t whistle or snap either! Oh well…..at least I’ll have nice legs thanks to your workout:)

  12. Pititemaud says:

Cassey I totally love your new workout!!!! and I’m obsessed with my legs (I think they’re too bulky…so are my claves…ewwww)…so this workout is NOT gonna make my calves bigger (alrger, bulkier) right ? especially the to last exercices!!
Keep going with your fantastic job Cassey! you’re the best!

  13. hayley says:

I salt EVERYTHING, even before tasting it! Actually, it’s Tony’s cajun seasoning, but it’s loaded with salt. And anyway, most things are full of salt before I add it… so out goes the salt for a week! This will be hard 🙁 I love my Tony’s seasoning 🙁

  14. Paige L says:

Oh boy…I know what my condiment will be: peanut butter. I’m addicted. I’ll scoop out a portion to go with my apple, but before I know it, I’m eating out of the jar again! Aghh! I literally go through a jar every 2 weeks- now that’s just crazy!
