Sneak peek for something you’re not expecting | Day 24 of 90

Just gonna put this right here.

I’m releasing a video next Sunday that will explain everything about this photo. But this is all I am going to give you right now.

Any predictions on how this one is gonna play out?

DAY 23 RECAP:

Progress continues! As you can see in my Fit Journal, I’ve actually begun to take out dairy for the weekend and after analyzing – it seems that the cheese may have been one of the root causes of my stagnation and bloatation. My stomach feels so much better! I don’t crave dairy anyway, so I don’t feel like I even had to make a sacrifice.

I went to a 7am circuit training class so I could make it in time for my 10:30am interview with Hey B*tch Podcast! The girls invited me on to talk about my 90 day journey and we got super raw. I held nothing back. We talked about all the controversy that’s been surrounding this whole thing. It was a great conversation and we covered BOTH SIDES in depth. The episode will be out in a couple weeks!

If you look back to day 1 and read the title of my first post, it was titled “Doing this for myself“. I force myself to remember anytime I feel misjudged by others for my decisions. The reminder keeps me going strong.

I am so proud of myself for continuing to do things that make me more authentically me, in the face of continual backlash. I set out to get in the best shape of my life and I will not let anyone deter me from achieving that.

I AM going to improve my mental health.

I AM going to improve my physical health.

And you know what? This focus has me THRIVING on a new level. I feel so much more happy and so much more confident than I did just 3 weeks ago. You guys – this whole 90 day journey thing – it’s actually working 😉

Anyway, for breakfast I had chili roasted pistachios and matcha collagen water. I’m kinda addicted to these nuts. They are so good.

For lunch, I made a version of what I made yesterday! Cauliflower rice, sauteéd mushrooms, a soft boiled egg, avocado, fresh cherry tomatoes, and a side of left over shishito peppers. Oh and of course the sriracha drizzle. I actually ended up drizzling like 3x more on there throughout the meal 🙂

For din, I basically had the same thing.

For post din fun – Sam and I wanted to go out and get drinks! Now, when I say drinks, I mean boba. Or matcha milkshakes. (I don’t drink alcohol – I’m basically allergic. It tastes like rubbing alcohol to me and I my skins turns bright red everywhere.)

Sam got a matcha kit kat milkshake with boba and I got unsweetened green tea!

I really thought that the unsweetened green tea would taste fine, but actually it was SOOOOOOO bitter! I couldn’t drink it. I had to go home and add some monk fruit sweetener, and even then it still was too bitter for me. I ended up adding some unsweetened almond milk to to it, and it tasted a lot better! I think I’ll just make this at home for myself. So much easier and cheaper. Unfortunately, Sam didn’t love his either. He thought it was too sweet and the mix of matcha and chocolate wasn’t the best combo. We’ll try again next time!

Oh and yeah, I had more chili roasted pistachios 😛

Have a great rest of your weekend guys! Time to go spend some time with Sam and George!

An “influencer parody” video, maybe? I doubt it but hey. I’ll definitely go watch the podcast

  2. Dany says:

Hey cassey I love your posts! But as an ocean lover I wanted to ask if you could try to use less plastic and more reusable products! That would be an inspiration for a lot of people I think.
    Thank you!

  3. Madelyn says:

Reading this made me so happy!! Cheering loud and proud for you!!!

  4. Katie S says:

I can’t believe people are still down on you for this! You’re only trying to better yourself. Just because someone else thinks you’re perfect, doesn’t mean you have to agree.

I’m finishing up another week tomorrow though I’m doing my weigh-in etc the day after. That’s just how my schedule panned out. 🤷🏻‍♀️ We’ll see how I did my second week into my own 90-day journey. ❤️ I’ve been consistent with my exercise, but the eating has been haaaarrrd. 😞

I’m glad you’re feeling so much better after getting rid of dairy. Stay strong! You’re doing great! ❤️

  5. Ania says:

Sorry Cassey that it’ll be a bit personal, but I have to share with you my little win i my battle of my 90 day journey 🙂 I started to plan my meals and it’s so game changing! I thought that it’s to hard and I can’t do it, but now I feel like it is the best change in my eating routine. Thanks for encouraging me to doing this.

    1. blogilates says:

Don’t be sorry!! That is incredible!!! I am so happy for you!!!

  6. Isabel says:

Thanks for sharing! If you ever crave cheese while you’re trying to cut down on dairy, I’d highly recommend the mozzarella-style almond cheese from Trader Joe’s. It has casein so it’s not 100% dairy-free, but it has an almond base and tastes really great. 🙂

    1. blogilates says:

      Good to know, thank you!

  7. killmotion says:

You’ll probably be playing on the influencer term in showing how destructive it can be to the ones who follow them and how dangerous it is. Kind of like your beauty vid where you photoshop yourself in the mirror.

  8. Stanley R Prentice says:

My wife really loved your site and suggested I let you know what she does to stay in shape. it keeps her in shape and me all revved up. Check it out here. http://bit.ly/2kkpmwV

Loving these updates! Those roasted chili pistachios look so good!

  10. Jenny says:

You probably already know about this, but I read about goal setting theory this morning (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goal_setting) and it makes so much more sense as to why some goals are easier to achieve than others.

I’m guessing you’re going to post a video with some kind of ~influencer~ parody? At least that’s what I hope it is haha

  11. Katheryn A. Thompson says:

Could you post your recipe for chili pistachios please. I love nuts, but try not to over do it. How about home made greek yogurt (1/2 cup) with sliced dried strawberries, chopped roasted marcona almonds and cinnamon. No sugar. It’s wonderful.

    1. blogilates says:

I just bought the chili roasted pistachios from costco!

  12. Jessie says:

When I was on keto, I always got black tea without sugar instead of green tea! I always found that green tea was waaay too bitter, but black tea was definitely doable.

    1. blogilates says:

      Huh, good to know!

  13. stephanie46 says:

Hi! I read an earlier post about you going out to eat and had a grilled chicken salad with berries and walnuts. I COULD NOT get that salad off of my mind, so I made one at home. I couldn’t find any goat cheese so I used blue cheese and now it’s one of my FAVORITE salads ever!! Thanks for being transparent on your blog. I know your journey is more focused on reaching your goals, but I found some new food ideas.

    1. blogilates says:

      Isn’t it AMAZING!!??

  14. Mandy says:

I think you’re taking all the negative comments the wrong way Cassey. No one in your blogilates community was telling you not to do this, everyone was just concerned for you. And mostly because the way you said/wrote certain things sounded very similar to things people with an unhealthy state of mind say. As time goes on, it’s becoming more clear that this was not the case for you, but no one really accused you of anything- most of it was just misunderstanding.
Here’s my constructive critism for you. I know your past experiences make it hard for you to hear and accept anything that sound like a negative critisim, but try to be a bit more open-minded and give people more credit- they are, for the most part, just trying to be helpful. You’ve created such a generous and giving community around yourself, you should expect nothing less than well-intentioned, honest feedback from them (us).

    1. blogilates says:

Thank you for your honest and open feedback. Yes, I know that some of the comments come from concern. But it’s also hurtful to hear certain people diagnose me as a person with a mental illness and say that I am am embarrassment to all women. I get where they are coming from though…as mean/rude as the way they phrase it is. I would like to think that it comes from a place of care! So that I am grateful for.

  15. Julie says:

I have the same issue with alcohol. I try to drink a bit to fit in, but it triggers migraines (and tomato face) for me. I just wish I unwind with alcohol like others can!

Also, not to be the nut police, but pistachios are on the higher end of carbs for nuts, so just be careful!

  16. Rachel L says:

Can you do some cooking videos on some of these favorite meals? I’m also dying to know how you make you shishito peppers, they looks so intrguing and I’ve never had something like those!

    1. Deanna Lisovich says:

I would love to see cooking videos too!!

      1. Claire says:

Hey lady! A new-ish British follower here. Love your positivity & honesty Cassey. You’re one of my favourite influencers already because you’re real, relatable and genuinely bloody awesome!! 🙂

        1. blogilates says:

AWWW nice to meet you Claire!!!

    2. SOPHIE GINGRAS says:

Oh I would love that too!

    3. blogilates says:

OMG so easy! You literally just throw on on the pan with some oil and let them blister for like 5 min each. Then you toss it in whatever you want!

  17. Damian says:

You are forgetting a big protein intake! You are going to lose all your muscle if you are on a caloric deficit and with that diet that is jot precisely high in protein will cost you all your muscle

  18. Tasha says:

You are definitely a super taster if alcohol tastes like rubbing alcohol!

  19. PeachGummy says:

I’ve been thinking the same thing about dairy suddenly, or at least cow’s milk. I don’t take it in very often as I prefer cashew, oat or even goat milk for smoothies/baking/coffee etc… But I had a lot of ice cream this weekend and I find myself feeling physically miserable. Just bloated and tired and lethargic. I’m wondering if it was just too much dairy…

Anyhow, I wonder if you’re deciding to embrace the positive aspects of the influencer title? You have had an enormous positive influence on my life, for one!

Also I want to try shishito peppers so much but they’re so ungodly expensive here in Ohio D:

    1. blogilates says:

How about trader joes? They are super affordable there!

  20. Amy says:

The key with green tea is to use hot water, not boiling! It sounds weird but it totally works and makes it much less bitter. David’s Tea has some really fun varieties of tea if you’re looking to mix it up!

  21. Myra Torres says:

Predict that you’ve embraced the term “influencer”. I never thought of it as bad but def feel you on how it’s being used by lazy journalists who instead of promoting what you actually do/ your field of expertise. It’s become a general word for “YouTuber” or the like. Downgrading years of study and research you have knowledge on. So people interested in what you actually do will never really know and never find out if they will love your work/ what you do.

  22. Katie says:

Cassey I am so proud of you for stick with this even through the backlash. You have inspired me to take back control of my health too. I’m 5’2″ 136 lbs. While it is a healthy weight I’ve always been between 115 and 120. I’m starting small, focusing on getting under 130. I’m also trying 30 days no beer (this is super hard for me I love my Colorado craft beer) and cooking a lot more than I have all summer. All of this will also help with my blood sugar since I am prediabetic. Lastly I’ve started yoga and meditation to help me mentally. While I’ll never be a yogi I’ve seen improvement in my downward dog in just a week. Keep rocking Cassey!

    1. blogilates says:

      That is awesome!!!

  23. nunzio says:

all I read is perfectly true, but unfortunately physical activity is not a thing for everyone .. many are defeated by it because they do not want to fight when in the end it would take little to feel good both physically and mentally …. . https://bit.ly/2m8I37h

  24. Fiona says:

I usually put in some fresh lemon in my green tea – helps with the bitterness without having to add a sweetener. Obviously you could try a combo of both if you prefer your tea a bit sweeter 🙂

  25. Shelby says:

Where are you getting all these yummy nuts? TJs?

Looks amazing, congrats on your progress!!

    1. blogilates says:

Costco! For the chili roasted pistachios!

  26. Diana says:

Please let me know the second that podcast episode comes out. Alcohol tastes like rubbing alcohol to me too. I don’t understand how people drink that poison. It gives me a headache. Anyways, I think you might have metabolic damage still.

    1. Anh says:

The reason why some people (including me) get strong headaches and the faces go red as a tomate and swollen is because we lack the enzyme that breaks down acetaldehyde which is a metabolic product of alcohol being broken down in our body. Normally, acetalydehyde would be then broken down further into carboxylic acid (acetoc acid in specific) that in not “toxic” as acetaldehyde.
A lot of people didn’t believe me that I react this seriously to alcohol, but hey science!
Regarding the taste, I guess it’s just a personal opinion.

    2. Tasha says:

      You might be a supertaster.

  27. Laura says:

Mmmm, that meal looks amazing! 😍

  28. OfeS says:

If I get a boba tea without sweetener I usually get a milk tea. Try it with coconut milk. My favorite is unsweetened Thai milk tea. It isn’t for everyone though, I’m the only one who likes it in my family.

    1. blogilates says:

      That sounds amazing.

  29. Nikki says:

I am so proud of you, Cassey! I’ve been following you for many years now and I am really really happy that now, you are doing something for yourself. Don’t listen to all the negative comments! Huge following or not, we all get negative comments from people. As long as you’re not hurting anyone/yourself, you can do whatever the f you want specially if you feel it’s for the better. I am so inspired and I feel the positive energy ‘til here! I, too, am struggling with my eating habits and overall physical fitness for months now. I just can’t seem to find the motivation again and have been eating whatever I want. Everytime I see old photos of me being so fit, I get lost and just feel like who I am right now is not me. I am the heaviest I’ve ever been and it’s just affecting my mental health as well. I’m hoping to start a challenge like this as well, and I’ll take you sharing your journey as inspiration. I want to feel like myself again!

    1. Elena says:

I’m sorry you are struggling with this 🙁 I struggle with the same thing, but I have also managed to stay on a healthy eating lifestyle for over two months now! Which is a long time for me considering I would quit after one week. One thing that helped me not quit is continuing even when I’m not motivated. If you wait for motivation chances are you will never achieve your goal because we’re just not motivated all the time, unfortunately but you can do this!

  30. Elena Penny says:

I honestly have been thinking you were being too hard on yourself for the past couple of blog posts, but now I really see that this is what works for you. I was just worried since I’ve been a long time fan watching about your struggles with rebuilding your metabolism and dieting. I hope you continue to enjoy your journey! And I can’t wait to see you reach your goal!

  31. AJ Weddy says:

Hi Cassey! I love you and your posts and am so glad to be reading one every day. Keep being the positive person/leader that you are. Anyone trying to steer you off track of your intentions needs to focus on themselves and their own dreams and goals. Btw – I went to Bon bon today too! I got a matcha green milk tea with boba – half sweet and let me say, it was delish. Perhaps you’ll try it next time? :O)

  32. MG says:

Have you posted the recipe anywhere for the chili roasted pistachios? Or do you buy them like that? I love plain pistachios already & I think those look and sound amazing!

  33. Jenn says:

The term “influencer” literally just sounds like the name of the villain in a fantasy novel. The “Influencer” desires power and followers… almost entirely like influencers nowadays. YouTube and Instagram is literally a breeding ground of fantasy villains in the making.

    1. Nnewiam says:

THIS IS SO WONDERFULLY TRUE. Thank you for writing this comment, it’s merely 7am in France, and yet you’ve already made my day. (PS: fantasy rulz!!)

    2. Katelyn says:

Omg Jenn!! You’re so right!!! I love this comment!!!

  34. Is the new video about how being an “I fluencer” discredits your expertise as an instructor and expert?:) that’s my guess.

I love that you love your meal so much you’re having it again haha!

    1. blogilates says:

I am addicted to my meal. It is legit my fave.
