WORKOUT DETAILS

So ummmm guys!

This just happened. I did 1000 squats non stop and nearly died and went to fitness heaven. It was…EUPHORIC.

You know, I wasn’t going to upload the full length 40 min workout because  I thought it was too long (literally took like 7+ hours to upload to YouTube!!) but since y’all thumbs up’d my comment over 2,000 times…

1000 squats comments

I took some time this weekend to edit the full length video! So far looks like a ton of you crazy POPsters have already attempted and/or completed the challenge. Like seriously, you are LITERAL BEASTS.

This workout is NOT EASY by any means. So if you feel like you’re in pain and you need a break, please, take one. If today you can do 20 and next week you can do 30, then one day you will get into the hundreds then the big 1000. It takes time.

What I love most about your comments on YouTube so far is that you’re posting how many you were able to do! I like that you don’t feel bad that you could “only do 60” or whatever. In fact, POPsters are encouraging each other with each of the comments! It is seriously so amazing 🙂

YouTube usually has a bad rep of random menacing tweens writing super mean comments under a video. This gets to us creators a lot. Sometimes makes us cry. But you know what, I’ve been fortunate that the majority of the Blogilates are not only positive…they are UPLIFTING!

That’s what I love about you guys. You’re different. You’re kind. You’re vibrant. You’re inspirational. I am so lucky to call you my POPsters. I could never ever ask for more!

Hope your weekend was splendid. I took Saturday off and went jet skiing. No pics though, but it was SUPPPPERRR fun! I love bouncing on waves and riding crazy fast on the water! I can’t handle much else though. No roller coasters. No bungee jumping. No sky diving. I can’t even do a hot air balloon.

Haha, so anyway! I want you to try the 1000 squat challenge! Remember, if you don’t make it all the way through it’s OKAY! Your legs and butt will be stronger for next time.

Oh and show me your #sweatypic after you do the workout!

Have fun and good luck!

<3 Cassey

PS – If you’re following the July Workout calendar, today just do either the 1000 Squat Challenge or the videos listed. You are not required to do both. That’s just. Crazy.

I was very intrigued by this challenge as I regularly compete at events like this. I was watching your video to see all the different squat variations you used and did not see you complete a single squat. Can you re-post this challenge where you meet the standard competition definition of a squat, that top surface of the legs at the hip joint is lower than the top of the knees, on all your squats instead of using the micro squats you were doing? By the way, I did complete this challenge using the standard definition of a squat, hips being below parallel.

I DID THE 1000 SQUAT CHALLENGE. 30 WEEKS PREGNANT AND I STILL DID IT 😀

  3. Elizabeth Marie says:

I didn’t believe in myself at first, so yesterday when this was scheduled on the calendar, I was SOO glad I had a 5k to do so that I didn’t have to attempt this. However, this morning when I got up, I felt a bit guilty for not doing it or at least trying.. So I stretched, turned on the video, and was able to complete the ENTIRE thing with no breaks. :O Kinda surprised myself that I was able to mentally push myself as much as I did. My endorphins spiked after it was over! :)))

  4. Sienna says:

This is the first time ive viewed your website and I absolutely love your enthusiasm ! I wouldn’t of done it without your guidance, it pushed me! I have only pushed myself a couple of weeks ago to do as many squats as I could and I did 300. I FINISHED THE WHOLE 1000 im feeling so great, to be honest I stopped the video once about the half way mark at each set of 100 squats for a few seconds around 10 seconds, BUT also during the 900 stage of squats my back was really sore and I couldn’t get up as much as a tired to so instead I did 159 normal ones. I AM ACTUALLY SO PROUD I AM CRYING, i was coming into this aiming to get 350 squats , never thought I could achieve this

Seriously Cassey, when I first saw that you made a video like this, my first thought was: There is NO WAY I can do 1000 squats! Even 500 sounds pretty nuts! I mean, I know Cassey is crazy (in a good way though!), but seriously THIS IS CRAZY. However, I am pleased to say that I was one of those “crazy people” who decided I’d give it a shot. The first time I did it, I was able to get to 500…and now today, I hit the 1000 squat mark! 😀 I am so glad that I pushed past my comfort zone and didn’t give up. It reminded me of your BodyPop story and how you stressed to never give up on your dreams and goals. You never know until you try, and what a better gift to give myself on my birthday than utter satisfaction that I completed 1,000 squats.^^

  6. Ann says:

Omg I was sweating so much at 500 sadly i could only go to 500 but I WILL CONQUER YOU SQUATS!

  7. beautiful jewel says:

So it took me three days 200 first day 400 second day and 400 today but I did it and correctly with a few wobbles here and there #1000squatchallenge #done #blogilates

what song is playing when she is doing the rolling squat?
that’s not like a sneak preview of her body pop song right?
i tried googling the lyrics but got no where….

    1. Elizabeth says:

So I was definitely right! if you watch the video she posted today about the story of body pop, you hear that same song when she previews the video! I knew it!

  9. Tiffany Hamilton says:

I just finished this video man was this intense but I loved it. The hardest set off 100 was def the last not so much because my legs were tired ( even though they were ) but more so because the rolling squat was hard on my back. Anyhow i’m super proud of myself and anyone else who has attempted this challenge. It truly is mind over matter!

  10. Mary says:

I did the whole thing because I was super motivated to be able to tell my crossfit husband that I did 1000 squats.he was super proud so I challenged him to do it……was like “yeah…one day I’ll have to try that…and you can do it with me” haha but he hasn’t been have enough yet. Blogilates: 1 Crossfit: 0

(Just kidding,I like both crossfit and Pilates but I think they are just as challenging as each other)

  11. daria says:

Omg cassey im on the beginners calender and i did the 1000 squats!!!!So proud ♥

  12. Meechie says:

My friend and I got together and knocked this out. It killed us, but now we can say we’ve done a 1000 squats at one time!!! Thanks for the motivation!
P.S. Climbing stairs today is killing me!

  13. Amy says:

i did it the other day we had like the 100 burpees this week and the 1000 squats…seriously I feel like I’m on fire….but lovin every minute…Thank you so much for push me further than I though I could reach!
    Xoxo,

  14. Bahar says:

Oh my goodness Casey!! what did you do?? If i can finish Begginer’s Workout Calendar first and work a lot more and more then maybe i can try this :=)

  15. Merlin says:

    I did it………..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I did a 1000 fri….kin squats…aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah….and it wasnt so bad as i thought it would be…gosssssssssssh…NEED A BATH…

  16. Lenina says:

I did 974 squats!! It was awesome!!! <3

  17. Kathy says:

Did about 550! I’m proud of myself for two reasons: 1. I ate something unhealthy before starting and by that I mean like 10 mins before squatting I finished eating and 2. my right knee hurt my from start on but it got sooo damn much better the more I did.
Sadly my eye-sight turned black when I wobbled through the calve-squats and I had to quit cause I felt to dizzy. Took a break, tried again, but didn’t work so far. I’m thinking of maybe doing some abs after sitting here and drink enough.
I will definitally try again in a few days 🙂

  18. Nicky says:

I did it all 1000, this is just AWESOME. Feel exhausted a bit the following day, but feel so great. I got sweat from head to toes.. Thank you to give us inspiration and make it happen… Love Pilates…

  19. Marta says:

I did it. 1000 squats 🙂 I’m so proud of myself, becauce I start work out 3 weeks ago.

  20. Pressly says:

I told my boyfriend a few weeks ago that I thought I could do a thousand squats…and I guess Cassey heard me because she put my statement to the test! I was right, finished the video all the way through! I’m so proud of myself and my boyfriend is very impressed hehe

  21. Owl. says:

Wow! You are such an inspiration to me Cassey!
    I couldn’t do 1000 but nearly 50. After that I needed a little break 🙂

Oh and hope I don’t annoy you; but can you fix the videos on your website? I still cannot choose other videos than the first :/ Other popsters are having this problem, too and as far as I can tell, your videos are not linked properly. I have to go to youtube to do your videos (which is fine, but I prefer staying on your website :))

Lots of hugs! You are great!

  22. I did the squats challenge video yesterday and my legs are so sore today! I had to take several breaks and did not complete 1000 squats but I’m proud of myself for pushing through. I would’ve never done that on my own so I really appreciate this video!

  23. Lisa says:

I wish you had some pictures of you jet skiing.
    Like seriously 😀

  24. Jackie O. says:

Good to know that we can do either the new workout or the videos for the day but I will do the video tomorrow after I do all the arm workout videos for the day. Can’t wait! Thanks!

  25. michaela says:

So excited to try this!!! Going to go swimming with friends in a few weeks so I’ll either do this video tomorrow, or a few days before the swimming (i think accomplishing 1000 squats is a good confidence booster haha) or maybe both? Hope to see a 1000 sit-ups/crunches video later on! 😀
Congrats everyone who has done it!!

  26. Irene says:

OMGSH I cant believe I did all 1000 squats!! It started to burn at the Back Kick one and I definitely hate the Froggy ones the most XD I also did cardio videos in between and Inner Thigh Clairity in the end of the squat video followed by practicing my planking and doing 110 Arm Press Pulses 😛 What an accomplishment!

  27. Beth says:

Whew! That video was a toughie. I thought, 1000 squats? What the heck, I’ll try it out. Got to squat #4 and needed a break! By the time the rolling squats came around, I was finished. I might have gotten about 30 of those out, haha! Did anyone get to the other workouts after this challenge? I surely did NOT 😛 my legs were like, “Oh you want us to do more? Nope.” If you did, you are a boss!!

  28. Valeria says:

I DID IT!! I didn’t think I could, but I did it!! 😀 I feel so happy and accomplished! 😀

  29. Anna says:

Done! I took a few 1 minute breaks (about 4 I think).. one was to move outside onto the balcony because +30 still air inside was just resulting in a serious loss of fluids! haha

…I’m curious to see what kind of soreness I’ll be experiencing tomorrow!

  30. Niki says:

Ahh Cassey that was crazy! Some of the squats were really hard on my knees (the froggies and the rolling squats) so I just couldn’t finish them. But I’m so proud of myself that I did over 800 and I never thought I could do it 🙂

  31. Wow. That’s an insane video. You did a great job. Now I want to challenge myself to do the same. I’m nervous but excited. Wish we luck!

  32. D says:

I did this like a crazy girl! Oh my. I died. I took a few minutes break every thirty squats or so. I completed the last 100 consecutively. They were my favorite. I liked the regular squat with calf raise the second best and the narrow squat the third best. The regular squat burned more than the narrow squat. Thanks, Cassey. Can you do something insane for abs/muffin tops/obliques? That’d be great!

  33. Ricarda Lieb says:

Thanks Cassey, I just finished the whole workout without stopping! One year ago I wouldn’t have been able to do this, just because of hard training with you and by following the calendar strictly I could make it! You’re inspiring!

  34. Ricarda Lieb says:

I just finished the whole video without stopping! It was hard, but not impossible! Thanks Cassey, one year ago I wouldn’t have been able to finish the challenge, but by doing your calendar every single day for almost one year now I am stronger than ever! You’re inspiring!

  35. Laura says:

That’s an awesome challenge! Going to try it tonight, just need to write my last will before that :D. And thank you for uploading the full length video!

Are you going to do try a 1000 sit-ups challenge? Please, please :).

  36. Jackie says:

That was crazy awesome Cassey!! Thanks. It was also great to see u having a rough time at parts too, didn’t make me feel alone 🙂

  37. Linda says:

Just finished the challenge. The frog ones were hard but so were the rolling ones! But I did it!

  38. CC says:

I’m glad there weren’t any jumping squats thrown in there. 100 jumping squats = instant death

  39. bri says:

HELP! I’m so confused! I have the July secret password that was emailed to me.. Where do I type it in? And i also have a number code I got when i linked twitter to the blogilates app… Where do I put that one in at???

    Thanks for the help!

  40. YOU are slendid, Cassey! I did the challenge and my legs were shaking by the end of it, although the last move shoudlve been extra hard but it was easier than the others. Can we do a 1000 abs or cardio workout sometime?

    1. Amber says:

      Glutton for funishment, eh??

  41. Jessica says:

Hi cassy, I was wondering if you could fix the FAQ page, there seems to be a coding error. Wish me luck on this challenge!

    1. Mao says:

I told myself I’d do at least 250, so I put on Lord of the Rings (return of the king) and used the gifs as reference and ended up doing 650 and am now more sweaty than Frodo (and let me remind you he hasn’t seen a shower in months!) Had to stop before the ring got destroyed because my of my knee but I’ll surely try it again some other time
