Finally a sequel to my 1st stretch video, Stretching for Flexibility which was filmed way over a year ago!

I love this video because I turned on some uber relaxing music from Air and just let myself melt into my mat for these moves. Sometimes the hardest part about stretching is being able to ALLOW yourself to release…to give in to the sweet pain. Just breathe deeply and LET yourself GO.

All you’ll need for this routine is a yoga or pilates strap. If you don’t have one, a belt or towel will do. You will fall in love with these stretches, I promise you. It hurts so bad but feels so good.

Try stretching before and after your workout or when you wake up and before you go to bed. Make a little time and you will see improvement in your flexibility, which will in turn, make your Pilates practice much more effective.

I’ll need to make more videos for you so that you’re not repeating these over and over again. Stretching is great for preventing or healing an injury. Once I pulled my hamstring in college and it took a full year of stretching my leg every night for 10 minutes until I could bring my foot over my head again. Can you imagine that when I first pulled it that getting my leg to 90 degrees was nearly impossible? It was already hurting at 45…

Alone in Kyoto

Let me know how you feel after this one!

I love your stretch video’s! I’ve been doing this 2x a day going on 3days now and my hips feel so great! I have hypermobility issues with my hips and shoulders.. so it’s usually very painful to workout. I was frustrated how the more I’d stay with a workout video series the more the pain in my joints/muscles would grow. I stumbled onto your video’s on you tube a month ago and then became a member! I love how you really care about health and fitness and that a lot of your video’s are gentle on my joints, I haven’t hurt my joints once! (ive been sore but in a good way!) it’s been so encouraging for me and my whole body feels stronger every week 🙂 thank you for your amazing stretch video’s and caring enough to really explain pilates moves and breathing!!

    Hi,
I just want to say that I love all your videos! Exercising very day with Pilates was my new years resolution and so far so good thanks to you 🙂
In this video I had a few questions with the first stretch. I’m really not very flexible but I find that with my leg extended straight out to the side and with my foot pointing forward I can still easily sit back on top of my feet. I find it hard to feel much of stretch. Also, when I thread my arm underneath my thigh later on, press my shoulder into the floor and raise my arm to “open my back” I don’t feel much of anything except neck strain.
I’d really like to be able to do this right. Could you give me any pointers?
    Thank you.
PS: I would love even more stretching videos 🙂
