  5. Yingster says:

Hi Cassey! The candle from anthropologie is called volcano. I remember seeing Ingrid (missglamorazzi) on YouTube talking about it!

  6. Erynn says:

Hey Cassey! I loved your random facts! We have 6,14,18,19,20,22,23,24,25,26,38,40, and 42 in common and I want to have 33 in common with you so bad! It’s my dream to become a certified Pilates instructor for the mat. Thanks for sharing in a fun way!

P.S. When are you coming to the Dallas area? I will be there!

    Erynn from Texas 🙂

  7. Natalia says:

I loved the video Cassey–next time you do something like this, how about earthquake crunches? Or something fun in plank. That sounds like a good challenge.

But I have a question–I couldn’t do more than 25 rollups simply because my hips started ACHING. Not a good ache like the kind you feel in your muscles, but a dull, powerful arthritic ache. I have somewhat bad joints, and I can’t do double leg lifts because of it. Earthquakes and rollups get me too, but I’m left with few ab exercises to do that don’t hurt my hips. After three years of pilates, it hasn’t gotten better. Is there anything you can suggest? Or is it totally okay that I don’t have high hip endurance?

  8. Leya says:

So as I was watching this I was thinking…. What a great way to say 50 positive affirmations, or positive things about me, or 50 things on my bucketlist to accomplish. Even 50 steps to take to achieve a goal! What a wonderful inspiration! Thank you!

  9. Lea says:

Cool stuff, Cassey! Love #49. Women need to be empowered to throw around the iron as much as possible. Thanks for the inspiration!

    Keep up the awesome work!

  13. Niamh says:

I’m a Capricorn and Tiger as well!! Yay:D

  14. Dakota says:

This was so fun to read! xx

  15. Melisa says:

You are so pretty and have a very positive energy and it’s contagious!!! Love that you share your 50 random facts! Btw, totally random, but do you have dogs?

  16. Colleen says:

I was an RA in college too! Great video!

  17. Anna-Kaisa says:

Haha, ended up being a roll-up/ earthquake workout, but I loved it- went so quickly!
    Two things:

    1) Post a picture of your turtle, Turtle, I wanna see him!
    2) More videos like this! Might be hard for you to come up with 50 more facts about yourself, but a list like this to a repeated move made it fly by so easily! (but my abs are sore today, so obviously it worked!)

    1. Anna-Kaisa says:

Why is it that every time I post here/comment on a Cassey video that every sentence ends with an exclamation mark! … must be that excitement rubbing off 😀

  18. Caterina says:

I know what does it feels when it comes to cardio to be done! I’d rather do 3 hours of arms, butt, back, abs than taking my shoes and sweat my life out. That’s why I’m starting a marathon challenge. Because if it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you, and you taught it to me, Cassey 🙂

And I can’t help but empathize when you say you hate burpees lol

    1. Caterina says:

I see know there are a few mistakes. Sorry, forgive me I’m italiana! 😉

  19. PussCat says:

WHoooo! Bought a power pack 😀 Cannot wait! You’re videos are so wonderful. I can’t wait to start February’s calendar 😀 ooooh and Cassey retweeted and favourited me dfghjklkjhgf!!! Love you Cassey!

  20. Simoné says:

Hello Cassey 🙂 I know this will be non related to the post you made but I am not sure where else to post this..I love doing your videos and you are a great instructor with such a positive energy, it is really awesome but lately over the past month or two I just keep avoiding working out..its like I have absolutely no motivation 🙁 I keep wanting a normal routine day where I work out and keep healthy but I just keep finding myself putting it off all the time..I really want to be fit, strong and healthy but its like I just can’t put my mind to it. I feel like why should I push myself..even though I keep thinking about it and wanting to..I used to work out everyday for about 40 minutes, it was routine for a long time..but then I just lost all motivation and I don’t know why, and now that I haven’t worked out in so long, I just feel I won’t be able to keep up anymore and that’s what makes me just leave it all together. Any ideas how I could motivate myself enough towards the goal? Cassey you are by far the best instructor, Thanks for all the amazing help you give us 🙂

    1. s6milerun says:

      Hi Simone,

My heart completely goes out to you, because I (as I’m sure many of us) have been in your shoes. Keeping the motivation towards fitness is demanding. That is why I know you posted in the right place. Cassey, and her blog here is for getting us fired up about living healthy or your best life!

Of course the hardest part about exercise is getting started when we don’t sleep enough, eat enough, do enough or feel happy enough because the day just sucked our soul dry or whatever.

But maybe I can help you keep a few things in mind:
      1. Exercise is therapy for the mind. Your mind will go to a happy place.
      2. Exercise to impress yourself. Just think about the life you are building for yourself.
      3. Exercise will help you find your motivation. It IS torture to debate doing it, but is NOT torture when you start doing it. That’s my promise to you. Exercise = Loving your body!
      4. Exercise is Self Love, Improving Digestion, Improving Sleep Quality, Decreasing Stress, Owning your Power, and Discipline that will seep into all areas of your life.

Here on the east coast, it is snowy, below freezing temperatures, dark, crappy-like and at the end of my work day, I cannot fathom why the hell anyone would want to exercise. But, I target my drive to the gym anyway and just start. Then, I go nuts. After, I feel strong and great. I know the pain another work day can bring, but that is all the more reason to hit the gym. It melts away the bad feelings.

So keep posting your comments like you do, because others here will keep your spirit afloat. That’s why we’re all here.

      1. Simoné says:

        Thanks so much s6milerun! 🙂

This really is motivating, Its now or never. If I don’t keep healthy and fit now I am sure 10 years down the line I would have wished I had..I just need to believe in myself. As soon as I feel I can’t do a specific workout yet, that’s when I give up as I feel I’m doing a “half job”. However with thinking like that I will get nowhere..thanks for your comment though, it really does help. 🙂

        Best of luck

      2. Kathy says:

I came to stop and read your comment here. It’s true many know this situation – me too.
last year I was trying to get into working out the whole year but everything else in life took just too much time and I was ill quite often so I had no power at all which frustrated me.I started doing her wo in Summer last year, trying to do something every day, but never a calender. This year I am having a good start already because I decided to do Casseys January calender. 🙂 It was a struggle to get myself starting, but when I started everything just worked out fine.
but I dunno what I should do with next months because I will be away for 4 days and have no time to workout then. does it make sense then to do the February calender (if there is one)?

  21. Tori says:

Oh my gosh! You were a bio major in college??? Goodness girl! Haha I am a biomedical sciences major studying to be a doctor… And I am always struggling to find time to work out! But now I have no excuse! So cool that you got certified in college! Such an inspiration! Love you!

  22. Julie says:

It makes me feel good to know that I’m not alone in using my majors in college. I actually studied Japanese and Comp Lit…. granted I live in Japan now, but the plan was to get good enough at speaking so that I could translate for a company or something. Sadly working at an English Conversation school 6 days out of the week kinda cuts into the actual speaking Japanese thing. Get up, work out, eat lunch, go to work, come home. Sometimes I don’t even speak Japanese in a single day haha. But This job helped me find what I’m passionate about: teaching and motivating people. Helping them see that they can learn despite their busy schedules or their age or whatever other excuse they have AND they can have fun doing it. I’ll be pursuing a MA in TESL (Teaching English as a Second Language) when I get back to the States next year.

So thanks Cassey ^_^ For reminding me that what I did or studied in the past doesn’t set my path for me. We can change at any time <3

  23. Shannon says:

Do more moonwalks, Cassey! hehehe. Good burn on this one.

  24. Rachel says:

If you weren’t already focused on health, that sleep average could be an issue for anyone else 😛

  25. kai says:

So… Can we expect a cheap, clean mapo tofu recipe in the near future? 😀

    1. Angie says:

      Yes! I’d love that too!

  26. Maggie says:

I know you said you wouldn’t post any more equipment free exercise videos, but I would ask you to please reconsider. I live in Guatemala and getting exercise equipment is super expensive here (last time we bought dumbbells, they cost almost a hundred dollars) and if I order something from the States, there is no guarantee it’ll get here. It’s been nice having your workout videos and I really want to continue doing them.

    1. Rebecca says:

I think you misread, she said that she wasn’t going to stop equipment free workouts.

    2. Natalia says:

Also, I’m sure you can make some homemade exercise equipment somehow. After all, the original pilates ring was just the metal band around a barrel! Dumbbells are the easy ones–they’re exactly the same thing as a bottle full of rocks and sand. Exactly the same. Or a big bag of pet food for heavier stuff. For a resistance band…I’m not sure, but there’s got to be something stretchy out there.

  27. Alexa Wilansky says:

I love all of these random facts, we have tons in common 🙂 Huge fan! xoxo

  28. Laura says:

    I’m also a capricorn/tiger! Woop woop.

  29. Maja says:

I did this at the end of today’s WO thinking I would just chill out. But this is actually pretty difficult! Though I loved it. Thanks!

  30. Natalie says:

I love the concept of this video, it prevented me giving in to the burn so I was able to fuel through. Such a good idea!

    http://njcdesigns.blogspot.co.uk/

  31. Cheryl says:

I struggle to do cardio but I love lifting weights and doing most pilates exercises!! The new tools look awesome , can’t wait for them to arrive 🙂 .. is it possible to do some exercises using a gym ball please, I have a gym ball and I think its great for core workout but I don’t know much moves for it. I would love to learn some new pilates moves using a gym ball. That would also be a great tool, a gym ball in a vibrant colour with some motivational quotes 🙂

  32. rekha says:

The Anthro candle is the Capri Blue brand in Volcano. I used to work at Anthro and people would ask about it all the time!

  33. scarlett says:

    20. I used to be infatuated with Michael Jackson and taught myself how to moonwalk.

    I. LOVE. MICHAEL. JACKSON.
lol every time i see your video and I see Thriller in the back or you use a song i squeal hahaha

  34. Claudia says:

“#25: I love seawood even more.”

Haha, oh really? Please don’t choke to death on driftwood, Cassey; we need you!
(Unless, of course, you meant seaweed.) 😉

  35. Ella says:

Doing the roll ups along with this video really made my hips hurt, every time I rolled up… should that happen or am I doing something wrong?

  36. Kathy says:

Okay… I am always cold too, living in a cold place and my toes are naturally purple-blue if I don’t wear socks, even in summer. I love drawing even though uni/college is killing it cause I rarely have time and I decided to workout instead haha… I love workout and I too would rather lift weights than do cardio. I don’t like to drink alcohol and chocolate except for the confect my mum makes but only for Christmas because she uses high quality and it’s not too sugary. I don’t like bought chocolate… so I can avoid chocolate the rest of the year 🙂
ehm yeah… I don’t do make up and my hair got a mind of its own. I forced my hair dresses to make an ombre so it looks nice when I wear an up-do.. in school i was in the natural science class but now I ended up studying ancient history and archaeology (but still have no clue what to do with that afterwards. my heart beats for many thing…)-
great workout, Cassey, I managed to stop everytime you did except for one cause I was too fast XD

  37. Tamara says:

I really love lifting weights and doing ab workouts etc. But i also hate cardio so mutch! Mainly because i have some sort of weird form of chronical hyperventilation which makes cardio even harder for me…
I haven’t done the video, but i’ll do it in a few minutes!

  38. Mary K says:

I love to draw too!! I majored in Medical Illustration, with a Pre-Med concentration and a minor in biology and chemistry. Organic chemistry can sure be a pain in the butt! But also interesting if you have an artistic mind I think…anyways, your videos are helping me improve my strength, because I’m actually a cardio lover! Cardio is great for endurance, but then my arms feel weak -_-

  39. Jodie says:

I loved this video! Confession… I did not do the roll ups! But I was watching this as I got dressed to work out, so that’s all good right?

I can definitely relate to you when it comes to following your dreams. I’ve actually known what I wanted to do since I was a little girl, and I followed this desire all through high school, college, and now grad school. Recently I’ve been feeling down because I will graduate in May, and my decision to pursue a creative path means there’s no obvious next step, especially for earning a decent living. I don’t regret any of my choices, and I have felt more fulfilled in the last 6 years than many of my friends, but it’s tough to ignore the judgment from business majors who like to “joke” with me that I’m going to be unemployed for a long time and that I shouldn’t have studied something just for “fun”. Hearing you say that you hated corporate work does reassure me that I’m going in the right direction!

Also, I grew up in the UK but I still detest the cold! That’s why I moved to the South. 😉

  40. Joanne says:

Ohh I wish I hated chocolate and couldn’t drink would make healthy eating so much easier.
im always cold! And hate it!
Loved your 50 fave things. Will watch the video after my goats cheese and mushroom burge, chips oh and sticky toffe with cream has settled.. eek. Yolo! Xx

    1. Tricia says:

Same here! I love beer and going to breweries with my hubby is my favorite activity, so it’s hard since the carbs are so bad for me! Your facts are so fun, and it was great to learn more about you Cassey. I liked the one about your name. I was named after my mom Patricia, but if I was a boy I would have been named after my dad Benancio. I think that’s a cool name, but I like being a girl. Lol

  41. Steffi says:

I have a hard time believing that cardio kills you. I mean, when I do cardio with you, you’re in better shape than me! xD

  42. Alisa says:

Cassey, Volcano No. 6 is the candle! I absolutely love it too!! Smells soooo good.

Thanks for sharing and being an inspiration! <3

  43. Eni says:

you average 5 hours a night? i’m pretty sure that’s the first time you’ve mentioned an unhealthy habit… O.o

  44. Leah says:

Pretty sure it’s the Anthro Capri Blue Volcano candle you are referring to! OMG, they smell heavenly! I am currently staring at mine in my office:)

  45. V. says:

Oh my gosh, my fav number is 16 cause my birthday is feb 16, I can’t drink either but I’m glad cause my body doesn’t need that and looks better haha, and I can’t stand chocolate either! egh!

  46. Smriti says:

I love your drawings and designs 🙂

  47. Jill says:

I don’t like chocolate either and everyone things I am an alien for not liking it. I am glad that I am not the only one! Great video Cassey!

  48. Sabine says:

Oh my gosh, I thought: Ooh fun a personal talking video! And then I was tricked into doing a workout video afterall! Well, I have to admit, this way turned out to be even more fun than I expected. I feel my abs!!! (And I love it.)

  49. manganika says:

Maybe also something in honor of your turtle “Turtle”, inspired by the ninja turtles raphaelo, donatello michelangelo and leonardo 🙂

  50. manganika says:

    Hey Cassey 🙂
What about a superhero video series , I thought about “the BUTTMAN” workout (batman ,haha),which would be a butt-killer and “SQUATWOMAN” ( catwoman ), for the thighs as a start , what do you think ? Does anyone have other ideas to complete the series ?

    1. manganika says:

And I forgot, maybe also “SUPER – GROOVY” (super-goofy) , a super dance workout and
“SUPER-TONALD” (like super donald)a super toning workout 🙂

    2. Anna-Kaisa says:

I like this idea! And if not a whole series, then maybe just a total body video. First idea I got was Spider-Man- could be some spider-pushups (even though they KILL me!)
A ‘Thor’ -core workout, Aquaman- could be some swimmers.

Heh, not sure, but something with superheroes could definitely work! 🙂

  51. Annaoko says:

    Hi Cassey!
Really enjoyed all your little secrets 🙂 ! I feel like i know you better! You are so wonderful, so beautiful (inside and outside)! You changed my life, i’m stronger and feel at peace with myself! I read all of your posts, i love your dvd and all of your youtube’s videos!!! I like working out with u and being sore the next days (feel so good!). I could do pilates for hours (not like cardio…).
Don’t listen to all the haters with their bad comments, we don’t need this kind of bad feelings, they just don’t get it! I think all of your beloved popsters will agree with me!
    With so much love! xoxo
    Annaoko

PS: and thanks for shipping international (i live in france) !
