100% Natural Pancakes Recipe – Gluten Free, Flourless, Low Calorie, Easy

This is the easiest pancake recipe you will ever find in your LIFE!!!!! And it’s 100% made out of natural ingredients. No protein powder, no flour, no sugars…not even almond milk! It’s just 2 ingredients!

Check this ingredient list:

– 1 ripe banana

– 2 whole eggs

Bam!!! That’s it. Just blend. If you’re mixing in a bowl, make sure the banana is all mashed. Then spray your pan with some PAM, EVO), or coconut oil on low to medium heat, scoop some of the batter on there, give it about 20-30 sec, flip, and done! Serve and eat!

So simple I couldn’t believe it. I almost died. I must have this again! Here’s the instructional video for your enjoyment:


Under 250 calories, nearly 14g of protein! Wowee and no processed anything! These pancakes are gluten free, dairy free, low calorie, and delicious. My fave part is that I am not using any ingredients that are difficult to access in any country. Please try this today and let me know what you think!       Have you tried a flax egg? It’s a vegan substitute for eggs. For every egg you need, substitute in 1 tablespoon of ground flax seed with 3 tablespoons of water. I haven’t tried it myself yet, but maybe that could work?

    I make these all the time with a little difference

    1 banana
    1 tbsp flour or 1 tbsp ground oatmeal to keep it free
    1 tsp baking powder
    1 scant tsp cinnamon


    frozen strawberries microwave till hot sweeten with agave nectar or stevia
    or fresh berries mashed and sweetened with agave nectar or stevia top with a dollop of fat free whipped topping

    I make these all the time…I add 1 tbsp flour or for free ppc I will grind 1 tbsp oatmeal and add that… It gives it a little more body and not as hard to flip…. I also only add 1 egg…1 tsp baking powder and 1 scant tsp cinnamon.. Baking powder gives it a little more lift and lighter pancake….

    for the syrup I nuke frozen strawberries in the microwave and sweeten with stevia or agave nectar don’t have to use much as it is so sweet or I mash fresh strawberries and sweeten with stevia or agave nectar

    I made them on Monday, they were on the beginners calendar and I thought why not? And they turned out so amazing!! It wasn’t very easy to make them as they basically burn within seconds, but they were soooo fluffy and soft (I made them in the mixer).. it was amazing. Thanks for sharing that recipe! 🙂

      Hey, mine cooked quick too, a lower heat gave them golden rather than dark brown colour/black. It’s handy that they cook so quick 🙂

    I’m having SUCH a hard time making these! Every time I try, my pancakes look like scrambled eggs and not pancakes!

      Are you mashing it enough? And are you making them small enough? I just do two teaspoons per pancake, otherwise I can’t turn them without destroying them!

      I haven’t managed to make average sized pancakes, because they break up when you flip them. I do 2 teaspoons per pancake. 2 eggs 1 banana is perfect for me and I eat more than average

    I was after workout and very hungry when I saw this recipe and I thought I really have to give it a shot. And I did. First I was skeptical – no way this could taste great without any sugar or honey or something – but I tasted it and OMG! It is freaking awesome!     I tried the pancakes today. I followed the recipe and they turned out pretty good. The texture is nice, it’s fluffy, not at all like omelette, but not quite like a “real” pancake. I would suggest using a really ripe banana. Also you can add walnuts, almonds, raisins, cinnamon or oats. They are super filling too, all around great recipe.
    However I can’t seem to stomach well the taste of cooked bananas, it makes me feel ill. That’s the sole reason why I probably won’t make these very often (I’ll make these probably only if I crave sweet pancakes really badly). That’s personal taste really.
    But if you like the taste of cooked banana I say try it. Highly recommending!

      I do not care for ripe bananas. But I tried your recipe using a banana on the firm side. Make sure you remove those dark threads on the banana; that’s where the overly ripe flavor comes from, I believe.
      These were excellent. Reminded me of crepe suzettes; Fit for a king! Next time I will top with blueberries after they are done. I was able to get 5 4″ pancakes. Make sure you put a little of your oil on the pancake turner before flipping. If you have trouble flipping, let them cook a little longer, then try.Well worth the effort!! G’ma Jan

    I have made this several times and my version has evolved to: 1 banana, 1 egg, 1/3 cup of oatmeal, 1 tbsp of ground flaxseeds, 1 tbps gr. walnuts. Very good, a little more substantial.

    I love these! They taste like real pancakes!
    Sometimes I modify the recipe and add vanilla extract or cinnamon. I also add oat, which makes them thicker.
    Next time I might throw in some blueberries. This recipe is easily varied

    I just made these and they are AMAZING!! I added a bit of cinnamon to the mix and ate them with a bit of maple syrup drizzled on top and some blueberries. So good! I had a really tough time flipping them though, they were way too runny. They ended up looking more like scrambled eggs than pancakes. Does anyone know how to fix this?

      Yep, you can use just egg whites or one egg white and one yolk. I usually use one banana and one egg white and they turn out just as good as when I used one egg white and one yolk. I’ve never actually used two whole eggs so I can’t tell you if the structure of the pancakes changes. But yeah, try different recipes to see which one works best for you 🙂

    Just made pancakes today first time. Didn’t use over ripe banana, just ripe. Mashed banana with a fork in one bowl. Beat 2 eggs with fork in another bowl, then added together. They were awesome! I cant have flour of any kind so have not been able to have pancakes for a very long time. (Maybe they were heavenly to me because of that reason?) I always ate my pancakes with peanut butter and syrup so maybe that’s why they didn’t have banana taste at all. I make my own maple syrup which s WAY cheaper than buying at store. I agree that they turn better when small. And I added about a 1/8 of all spice to my batter-great flavor. Recipe for maple syrup…… 2 cups brown sugar with 1 cup water in pan. Over low heat, bring to a slow boil. Boil up to 5 minutes as to how thick you like your syrup. 1 minute for runny syrup, 5 for thickest. Store in glass bottles in fridge…keeps very long time if you use glass. Almost as simple as the pancakes. Thank you for the recipe!! from someone who has a very hard time to find food to eat. (Not only allergic to wheat, but corn, chlorinated water and all chemicals) These pancakes are a Godsend!

    I made these and in past they have turned out like a banana omelette. but today i mashed the banana super well, added a half scoop (just a little) of plain soy protein powder, and a teaspoon of oat bran and they turned out SO GOOOOOOOOODDDD omg. heat at 4.5 and i let it warm up before i poured. eating them with a huge bowl of raspberries and some walnuts…..soooooooo good

    I made some for the whole family, I used 2 large bananas, 4 eggs, a handful of oats, 1 tablespoon cinnamon (yes a tablespoon.. we love cinnamon) and drop of vanilla extract. Put this through a blender and cook it with oil. Serve with butterscotch syrup for added tastiness!

      I don’t know, why, since the ones I made were really yummy. Make sure to use a RIPE banana and I really love the addition of coconut oil when I’m cooking them. These pancakes are literally what I have every day now for breakfast! Just try again, when I first tried to make them, I used butter instead of coconut oil and I turned the stove on high right away and they didn’t turn out too good. It’s important to gradually increase the temperature of the stove and coconut oil was the best when I was making them.

    At first these came out as more of an omelet with banana flavour, and I could barely get three pancakes out of them. After a few tries, they became more and more delicious and even started looking like pancakes. Now I get 6 out of this recipe, they taste great!       I really loved the recipe. Make sure you don’t just turn the heat on maximum right away, gradually increase the temperature while they are cooking in the pan. I really thought the coconut oil added a great taste as well.

    I’ve been making these for awhile, but I also like to add a teaspoon of vanilla extract and a teaspoon of cinnamon. Mix it up in the food processor. You can also use whipped egg whites to make it more fluffy! SO GOOD!

      Yes when she says EVOO that stands for extra virgin olive oil. PAM is a non-stick cooking spray found in just about every grocery store.

    The key to making the pancakes flippable is to keep them bite-size! I’ve tried to make these over a dozen times and it definitely works the best when they’re kept small, as shown in the video.

    I made them, but mine didn’t look so nice as yours, also, I got just few.
    I mashed them really well, but when I wanted to turn them to the other side the mixture spilled all over the pan, so they didn’t have a shape, and were quite dark, but still tasty 🙂

      that happened to me too, but then I realized that you need to make them small, smaller than the palm of your hand, that way its easier to flip them, I made them like regular pancakes size and it was a huge mess, make sure you use a blender and not try to hand mix them because it wont work, good luck! it took me 2 tries to get them nice looking and tasty.

    Love the simplicity of this! First time, I whipped these up as an evening snack for my daughter, who has celiac. We both loved them! Second time, I decided to experiment a bit. I added 3 tbsp of almond meal flour to the batter, then made some with sunflower seeds and some with semi sweet chips (ok bad, but…). The almond pancakes turned out firmer and thicker, of course. More like a typical pancake. Either way, since I don’t always have almond flour on hand, both ways were delicious! Love the idea. So easy and nutritious, I may never go back to the other way!

    I tried these this morning and they were a sloppy mess. I added two more bananas to the mix hoping that would help but NO…. I completely wasted three perfectly good bananas and two eggs. I used my ninja to mix everything together but not so that the bananas were fully blended… I may attempt these again but with something to hold it together like protein mix or peanut butter.

    Don’t know for sure, but my estimation would be that the calories is for all of the pancakes. Think about it- bananas are usually around 100-120 calories each, and eggs are around 40-50 each. So 2 eggs + a banana would be around 250 calories.

    For those of you who are wondering- just estimate calories based on the size of your eggs & banana. 🙂

If you have a cheap, non stick or old pan and this recipe is not working, buy an actually cast iron skillet. It can be a cheap one but the pan really does make a difference…

    So I found a way to keep these from being too “eggy”; I simply whipped them up in a food processor so the bananas were smooth and evenly distributed. The problem I’m having now is I can’t get them to set well enough to make them flippable. They always fall apart when I try.       Hi Lisa! I haven’t tried this yet, but maybe you can go to 1.5 bananas to the two eggs and that might make it less eggy, and if its too weird keeping half a banana you could make one with 3 bananas and four eggs and save half of it for next time 🙂

    Tried this for the 1st time and made sure the banana really blended into the eggs. I had no trouble cooking them. They came out looking like pancakes and they tasted like fried plantain to me =). I had one pancake that had an eggy aftertaste but the rest of the pancakes were enjoyable and guilt free lol. My husband said it tasted like bananas so he didnt taste the egg. The thing I like the most about this recipe is it’s only 2 ingredients and I always have eggs and bananas at my house, the problem i have with most healthier recipes is i dont have all the stuff to make it and that it takes longer to cook so this is perfect! so next time I’m craving a quick sweet snack I’ll definitely be making these 🙂

    These pancakes were amazing! The only thing is mine fell apart, they were too soft. I changed up the recipe a little, instead of two eggs I only used one and I also used some vanilla essence (1tsp) and some cinnamon. Next time, i’m planning on using a banana and a half so that the mixture is thicker, this recipe got me about 2 – 3 pancakes. These are pretty sweet already from the banana so you won’t need any maple syrup or anything. I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT, delicious! xx

    Wow Casey, I’ve gotta hand it to you! I was sceptical at first thinking it would taste bland and too eggy, but they turned out amazing and exceeded my expectations! So incredibly quick and easy to make too! I modified mine a bit though which could have helped with the taste and texture. I mixed a bit of honey and cinnamon in with the mashed bananas, I put in one whole egg and the egg white of another egg, then I put in a small tablespoon of sifted flour in (naughty I know, but it was only a little bit!) Then walla! Tip: make sure to only pour a small amount of batter each time into the pan because the bigger I made them, the harder they were to flip. Thanks again Casey! 🙂

    I was so sorely dissapointed in these. I’ve been waiting to try them for weeks. I was very careful to mash the banana fully, and even drizzled a little honey on top but to me it tasted like a banana omelet. I also had difficulty with the spongey texture. I may try them again with a little tweaking, but next time I want two eggs and a banana, I’ll likely be having them separately.

      Try to use just banana a skip the eggs all together. It tastes divine with even less calories.I do mine in dehadrator to keep the enzymes alive, but they are just as good on frying pan ;o) Hope it helps. Enjoy!

      Another option is to mix together 1 tbsp ground flax seed and 3 tbsp warm water per egg that you wish to replace, let it sit for 5 minutes or so until it forms a gel-like consistency, then mix in the mashed banana. The flax & water combination is a popular egg substitute for baking. You may need to add a bit more flax or a bit more water to get just the right consistency. Good luck!

      Eggs doesnt have THAT much cholesterol. It is the junk oils and other sugars people consume that are causing your arteries to clog up. I eat 12 eggs a week and my cholesterol came down by eating butter, coconut oil and lots of red meat. Read Mark Sisson website, eat like a cave girl. Iwill definitely try this recipe. Looks yummm!

      There’s a difference between blood cholesterol and dietary cholesterol. Eggs contain a lot of dietary cholesterol, but that isn’t going to cause you to have more cholesterol in your blood. Blood cholesterol comes from other things.

    These are my go-to snack when I’m out of ideas. Love them! Personally, though, I find them a little bland, so I add in half a teaspoon of cinnamon, Splenda, and vanilla extract. I’ll also throw in a dash of baking soda to make them fluffier, and then I’ll drizzle them with honey!

    I tried these out this morning. It’s probably the first time in a long time that I have willingly tried something that was so egg based (I don’t like eggs by themselves).

    These were really good. I wasn’t getting enough protein in my breakfast, and these beat eating sausages that are always a bit greasy.

    I had trouble flipping them over especially since I use an iron cast pan and really don’t want to use a non-stick pan.

    From the tips I have seen, it looks like I need to add oil to the pan every time I make a new batch and then make the pancakes around the edges of the pan. I was making the pancakes in the middle of the pan at first. I will try again on Sat.

    I’ve been wanting to make these since I first saw the post awhile back but I completely forgot about them until one of my roommates ate my food. I just made them right now and even though they don’t look like the pic, they are delicious!!! I did add some cinnamon and a tiny bit of vanilla. It is challenging to flip them, but it just takes patience and PAM! They don’t even need any kind of syrup, I just put some smart butter on them and they were good to go! A new fav =)

    These were hugely disappointing. They absolutely would not flip and just broke into pieces; even after I let one sit for 10 minutes on medium heat, it still wasn’t cooked through. And the taste was exactly like one would expect- they just tasted like egg and banana. I get that people want super healthy and easy recipes, but this is taking it too far, there is no way these can be called pancakes.

      Did you try to make one big one? I suggest you make small ones around the edges of the pan if you only have a big pan to use. Just pour areas of the dough around the sides of the pan so that the pancakes dont connect with each other, wait til they get solid and flip.
      I’ve had absolutely no problem flipping them while making them like this, so I hope it works for you. They taste gorgeous when you get a little colour on them. For me they taste like pancakes, absolutely delicious.

    These were so delicious, you must try them! I added some cinnamon, walnuts, and a teensy bit of vanilla. They come out a little smushed if you make them too big…What I did was made them a little smaller, but also put a lid on the pan so that the top side would cook a bit, making them easier to flip. While I was cooking them, I realized you could also use this recipe to make a pancake omelette, stuffed with all sorts of yummy goodies. I’m definitely trying that next time!

    Super easy to make, I even added some cinnamon to the mixture.
    I noticed when I read other peoples reviews that they had trouble flipping the pancakes, what I found helped was making the pancakes small so that it fit on the spatula better and was easier to flip.

    For those who cannot flip it, what helped me is using two spatulas at the same time, and then flipping both over towards me quickly. After two failed attempts, this helped me create letters. I dont have that much trouble flipping small circular ones though. Great recipe <3

      look in your local Walmart (most walmarts have it) in your peanut butter section there is a product called walden farms whipped peanut butter spread. it has no calories nothing in it. that may solve the extra sugar problem

      Along with cooking them longer, you might have to make them a bit smaller if you poured them out to be a bit big. With different recipes like these, you definitely have to be mindful of the size so that you can control it with a spatula more.

        Pureeing the banana makes the batter a lot smoother and easier to flip. Putting a lid on top of the pancakes while they cook also makes it a lot less of a challenge, since the top of the pancake cooks as well. As the other two commenters said, greasing the pan in between batches makes things more manageable, along with making little mini cakes instead of regular sized ones.

    Just made this. I only used one large egg and added cinnamon (and topped with shredded coconut and a little light syrup). It came out a little soggy, and they were very hard to flip. I can’t imagine using two eggs. Next time, I think I’ll just do the same thing I did this time but make it like scrambled eggs instead of pancakes. The flavor is amazing! If you’ve ever had fried plantains, it’s a lot like that. It’s definitely worth playing around with to get it right.

    Made these exactly as specified, very ripe mashed banana, 2 beautiful pastured eggs. Tasted like a flat banana omelette. SAVED by adding 2 TBS of coconut flour, a dash of cinnamon and a dash of vanilla extract. Served with walnuts, blueberries and organic maple syrup.     WOW!! i JUST had these, they were easy peasy to make and PACKED with banana flavor! The person that commented before me said they used a frozen banana and egg whites. Maybe that’s why it didn’t work?? I just mashed the ripe banana on a plate with a fork really really well, then put the banana in a bowl and cracked two whole organic eggs in. Whipped it well with a fork and poured small ladle fulls onto a hot greased griddle. Remember, it’s eggs! So flip it within a minute. I found once they were cooked enough on the bottom and didn’t rip just FLIP over and cook for a few more seconds on the other side. Take them off when they have the markings like regular pancakes…..Yummmmmmmmmmmmmm!! Thanks for the recipe!!!!

    Tried these this morning and man, they were tough to make! I usually don’t have a difficult time trying new recipes, but these just turned out pretty terrible. I used 2 egg whites and a banana (which was frozen). I do want to try these again, because I think they can be good. Next time I will try cooking on a lower heat (so the sugar in the banana doesn’t burn too quickly), 2 egg whites, a non-frozen banana, and add 2 tablespoons of flax seed. We’ll see if that prevents them from becoming a soggy, burnt mess

    Oh my gosh, so many negative comments for such a delicious recipe! I mashed my banana with a potato masher and then wisked in the eggs. I used a large spoon to pour the batter into a well greased (with coconut oil) cast iron on medium low heat. I also made sure the bottom of the pancakes were clearly set before flipping. It took a bit longer to cook (about a minute to minute and a half on the first side) but the combo of smaller size, lower heat and solid base made flipping easy! As far as the “eggy” taste, make sure the banana is very ripe! I find when making pancakes with bananas, having them a little before “over ripe” does the trick – lots of flavor and the heat brings out the sweetness.

    Note: the texture will be different than flour pancakes! But once you get over that, it’s an amazing recipe, will definitely be making these again!

    Eating these as we speak, and they’re absolutely delicious. Only problem is that they’re more like pancake chunks than pancakes, since they didn’t exactly flip very nicely. At all. They’re too delicious to give up, though, so I swear I will perfect this.

    For those of you having problems flipping the pancakes, it’s probably because the batter is too lumpy. Banana tends to do that. I used a fork to mix this, but next time I’ll use a whisk and see if I get better results. A mixer might be a good idea as well.

    Another thing to note is that I only used one egg to avoid having an overall egg flavor in my pancakes. I imagine using two eggs would make for more easily flipped pancakes. I also added some cinnamon and a dash of sugar for more flavor.

    – This is fabulous! Breakfast is interesting again 🙂
    – I cut up the green ends of scallions and add them to make a wonderful pancake that is a bit more savory, nicely balancing the sweetness of the bananas. I also found that cooking at a lower heat for a longer time creates a nicely browned crust that can be flipped more easily.
    – Here’s a crazy hint for flipping: slip the spatula under the pancake under all edges, gently lift up while inhaling and just before you flip – hold your breath! Not quite sure why it works or if it will work for you but it does for me.

    Not sure why so many people are posting negative things about this recipe. I for one thought it was AMAZING! Quick side note though: After reading that a lot of you thought this recipe was too “eggy” and “omlete-like,” I decided to add only ONE egg (to the one banana.) I think that might be the solution to the eggy-ness of these. I honestly couldn’t imagine using two like the recipe says. A lot of you also complained about lack of flavor; I added about a teaspoon of vanilla extract and a teaspoon of cinnamon. Sooo good. Even if you don’t like cinnamon (like myself), it is still good with the cinnamon just because it adds a new level of flavor. For those of you talking about how it stuck to the pan and were difficult to flip, I did find that I had to re-grease my pan quite often, maybe because these ingredients tend to absorb things easily, idk.

    But yeah just a few tips on how to improve this recipe if you weren’t too pleased with it the first time around! :] Now let me just say, using one egg, some additional flavoring, and frequent coconut oil-ing, I was able to make the most addicting, delicious, sweet, scrumptious pancakes in the world. Absolutely in love with them, I make them all the time. Thanks soooo much Cassey for this recipe, I woulda never thought about mixing these two ingedients together!

    I used my magic bullet to mix the banana and eggs. I added 1 extra banana and threw in some blueberries. They were very easy to flip and if you use half of the batter it works out to only 2pts if you are doing weight watchers.My 2 grandchildren ate them plain I made them small so that they could hold them in their hand like a snack. You could put peanut butter on them and roll them .

    Just tried this and it turned out perfectly!! Don’t make your pancakes too big.. make them small, like the size of a chocolate chip cookie 🙂 They taste delicious and look kind of like pancakes! They weren’t runny and flipped easily… Maybe you need to mix better lol make sure the bananas are completely smooshed. 🙂

    Also I had no difficulty flipping these. I suggest you just keep an eye on them, if the heat is lower you are going to have to wait longer than 50 seconds. Coconut oil really helps cook them as well if you add a little to the skillet.

        Hey, I added 1 table spoon of all purpose flour just to give it a little something extra. i also sprinkled some cinnamon in the batter and the pancakes came out great! i did not have a problem flipping them and they tasted great!

    Wow – just made these for breakfast, and they were delicious! My boyfriend and I loved them! It is kinda like banana quiche/scramble, but it doesn’t matter – tastes amazing! I added a dash of cinnamon and vanilla as some of the other commenters stated.

    Also, in the middle of my batch, I threw a handful of rolled oats in to experiment. Those pancakes were a little denser. I liked them both with and without oats. They taste great by themselves or with a bit of almond butter, jam or honey. Thank you Cassey!!! <3

    Wow, you don’t know how long I have searched for a recipe that uses 1 ripe banana and none of the other ingredients that aren’t on our diet. Who knew I would find a way to cook it with just two ingredients. I used a potato masher on the banana, then a wooden spoon to mix, but then I switched to a whisk because it seemed like it might be too lumpy. I may have whisked it too much though because although it added a bit of airy fluffiness, I had a little trouble flipping them as well; they were a little watery on top compared to the cooked texture underneath. Also, keeping my skillet at a lower temperature meant it takes longer to heat to the right degree. By the time I got to the third and last (mini) pancake, we were finally rocking. Like any pancakes, it takes a little practice to get the flip just right. The texture was very close to regular pancakes…which is pretty amazing considering there is no flour used!

    Like any pancake, you know it’s ready to flip over when little bubbles appear on top. But that means going longer than the 20-30 seconds unless your pan is very hot.

    I sprinkled a little coconut on top to serve, in lieu of powdered sugar, put some maple syrup in hot water to heat it up a bit and voila. The husband really liked them. Yes, you do taste the egg flavor, and the banana was dominant as well, but I think that is to be expected with nothing else in there. With pure maple syrup drizzled on top, the first bite really tasted like a pancake and I agree it is equally good without. I think next time I will experiment with adding a little vanilla extract to tame the egg and banana flavor from being too potent. But even split between my hubby and me…what an incredibly low-calorie treat! We’ll never be putting overly ripe bananas in the green barrel again!

    Is one serving one pancake? They are pretty small and I’m wondering how one pancake can be 248 calories when the sum of all the ingredients is only 240. (1 banana=100, 2 eggs=140). I also added another banana because the batter was too thin. Still very yummy 🙂

    These really shouldn’t be called “pancakes” as the only resemblance to real pancakes is that they are both round. What there truly are are paper-thin, flat discs of a very odd texture. The taste is ok if you really like bananas, but these fall apart in the pan and disintegrate in your mouth. They are fine, I guess, if all you care about is nutritional stats not taste.

I’d really like to see how many syns Coconut Oil is and if I can find it in the UK, because I’d really like to try that. Now that I am on this diet I have thought to put Fat Free/Light Yogurt on top (which is all free) and fruit like raspberries or blueberries ontop with a bit of sweetner 🙂

    My 6 year old told me these were the best pancakes we have ever made at home, she usually barely eats one and she ate 4! I added 1 TBSP ground flax for texture and that made it more interesting to me. Its a nice, and fantastically inexpensive way to keep the kids full through to lunch when they go to school. If they eat cereal they are starving by lunch time. But this way we avoid wheat and get some great protein into the diet. Thanks for sharing!

    I’ve tried making these twice, and both times it just doesn’t come out right. I blend them in a blender and they never flip properly…they just splatter everywhere, no matter how long I let them cook on one side 🙁 any suggestions?

      Your issue may be the fact that you’re doing it in the blender.. I mash the bananna up and leave it kind of chunky.. then i wish the 2 eggs into it with a fork… I put it in a hot skillet and let it setup to almost done all the way through on both sides, then i flip it over.. i’ve never had a problem with cooking em, or flipping them… I think putting it in the blender is making your mix too runny and watery… the chunky state of the bananna helps it to stick together.

        I made mine in the blender and it that is not the issue. You will have to increase the egg in your batter. The first time I made it, I had too many bananas (because I thought it would maker them thicker. ) However, it’s the eggs that solidify when cooked and hold the”pancake” together

    I should have read the comments before I began. I used two very ripe bananas and 1/2 cup Egg Beaters (the equivalent of 2 large eggs). I mashed the bananas with a fork, then used the fork to whisk in the eggs. I added a few dashes of cinnamon and a splash of vanilla. I cooked them in coconut oil. They turned out more like banana omelettes or scrambled eggs. Delicious, but definitely not the texture of a pancake. Next time I’ll try a large banana per egg and whisk the heck out of the mixture.

    hey i just tried these this morning and they are AMAZING!! soooooo much better than regular pancakes:) so i got experimenting-

    If its mush it is because you cooked it too long. You need to wait till the center actually bubbles up, the key to this is cooking them on medium to low heat, and for a while, I wait till the centers bubble over, also you are wanting to use a LARGE banana with Large two eggs. I normally use a normal banana and a large egg. A lot of this is how you cook it. I tend to use my blender to make sure everything is well blended. If you are looking for some help to hold it together, if you have rice flour add about a tablespoon to your mixture.

    My 1 yr old granddaughter will not eat eggs. I tried these and she loves them. I add a bit of cinnamon and a splash of vanilla. I had some leftover infant cereals (multi-grain, rice, oatmeal) that she would no longer eat so I added a bit of that to give the pancakes a bit more body. Sometimes I add some pumpkin puree or unsweetened applesauce. When I ran out of her infant cereal I started adding some oats. I no longer worry about what to give her for breakfast. They make a great snack as well!

    I was a little skeptical that it would be too eggy, like just eggs with bananas floating in them :/ but they weren’t at all! The recipe made 5 pancakes for me so I experimented with them. I ate 2 plain, topped one with syrup, added cinnamon to the batter of the last one, and topped one with a little cream cheese and cinnamon/sugar mixture. The cinnamon/sugar/cream cheese was probably my favorite! But they are delicious plain also. Thanks for this easy, two-ingredient recipe!

    To help with the “egginess” and thin texture, I added about 1t of oat flour and a pinch of baking powder. This gave me fluffy pancakes that had a texture more like traditional ones.

    Also, I made a variation with 1 banana, 1/2c of pumpkin, sprinkle of cinnamon and nutmeg, and 3 eggs + 1/4c egg whites. They get a little darker because of the pumpkin, but taste great!

    I tried them this morning with a hint of cinnamon. Yummy. I also use 100% pure maple syrup which, yes, has sugar, but the good sugar that breaks down easily. I cannot use any sugar products without jitters and maple syrup doesn’t have that effect.
    Thanks for the recipe… I will make these a lot. I store my riper bananas in the freezer and just defrost and mash, then mix with the beaten eggs.

    I tried this twice, and had mixed results. The first time, they basically came out like banana omelettes. Very, very eggy. The second time, I pureed a very ripe banana and then mixed in the egg, and used a pancake mold to keep the batter from spreading in the pan and it resulted in thicker pancakes that were much less eggy.     LOVE LOVE this! I’ve made it countless times. One time I ate them with jelly, delicious! I made it for my fiancé yesterday and he loved them as well. He was shocked I wasn’t eating them with syrup; they don’t need any!

    I was excited to try these pancakes but was very disapointed, no way they were even close to a pancake, yuck! might try again with darker bananas but I won’t hold my breath. Too bad, cause this could have been something I can actually eat. I’ll let ya know if I try again and how they turn out.

    Tried it today, yes they were yummy and tasted the banana. I had to cook it longer than the time stated, but was not disappointed. Didn’t add cinnamon or anything, next time I might put a touch after cooking it. Thank you so much for this simple and quick recipe.

    When I read this earlier today I was so excited to try it out…especially since I have a recipe that is similar, but with flour. I tried it but was so disappointed:( it tasted more egg-ie than banana or pancake.

      I had the exact same experience today. I hated the resulting banana-eggs. With a recipe this simple, I cannot imagine what I might have done differently from the commenters who loved it. I wonder if my standards might just be calibrated differently because I don’t usually do flourless/gluten free/paleo?

        If you used bananas that were still yellow, then try waiting until they are more brown than yellow. Same thing when making Banana bread. The riper they are, the sweeter the banana tastes.

          same with me. i was to excited to try this out, I have the very ripe banana which is already brown-ish. Didnt add anything but just the eggs and banana. I didnt like the taste 🙁 even tried with pancake syrup but still not yummy.. </3

    These were really good! Just one word of caution: don’t use an immersion blender to get the mixture really smooth after you’ve added the egg. I tried that after just using a fork to mash everything together. The first one (with just the mashing) turned out really well, but after I used the immersion blender, they tasted really egg-y and were impossible to flip. I think it got too much air in the batter. With one banana and two eggs, I got about four 4-inch pancakes.

      I made these this morning, and there really is no need to put anything on top of them. Syrup pure or not is full of sugar. If you’re going to just put butter on them, I would say to use brummel and brown butter. I just ate them plain though and they were really good.

    I just made these for my lunch. Do these taste just like pancakes, no. Are these good, yes. I got about 20 of out of my 2 eggs and one banana. Roughly 1 1/2 – 2 inches in diameter. I used coconut oil to fry in. Next time I will try a little ground flax seed to give a little thicker consistency. I am dipping them into sugar free syrup.

    This is a great recipe! I think it works best if your banana has some spots. Try adding spices like cinnamon or nutmeg…stir in some walnuts or pecans!!

    Mine did better on medium to low heat – different stove/pan? Added TBSP raw honey and dash vanilla. Turned out like crepes, very tasty with some almond butter on the side. Got about 15-20 little pancakes, maybe diameter of small orange. And mine did bubble, maybe because I used the Magic Bullet. I am always looking for new ways to prepare eggs and use ripe bananas…..thank you

    Yum! I was worried these would turn out looking like egg with some banana but they really do look and taste like a pancake. I made them small, spread some pb in the middle, and rolled them up and they are so tasty!

    omg. these make the most amazing post-workout snack. I mixed 1 medium banana with 2 medium eggs, then added a little cinnamon, flax seed and stevia (I have a REAL sweet tooth haha). the protein pancake recipes I’ve tried have ALL been an absolute disaster, but this was honestly one of the easiest, tastiest things I’ve ever made!! I topped some with raspberries, others with peanut butter. also I didn’t have any coconut oil, so just used ordinary olive oil. still worked a treat! xxx
