On to other news…

It’s raining right now. I hate it! Makes me sad. Some days I find it comforting but not right now. I’m just not ready. Yet I am grateful that it’s been so hot for so long over here on the West Coast. November and sunny. Until today that is. Boo. I shouldn’t complain though. Last year this time I was experiencing living in the city in the snow for the first time in my life. Oh boy. Oh Boston.

It’s about to be the 1 year anniversary of me quitting my job. The past few days I’ve been thinking about Boston a lot, just because I’ve been thinking about what this past year has really meant to me. A year ago, I was sitting at a cubicle, staring at a computer screen, and hating my life. In fact, I dreaded going to work everyday. Sundays nights stressed me out the most. I felt like a lowly low life when I was there…I just wasn’t meant for the corporate world I guess.

After college, I had landed myself a “dream job” and remember crying tears of joy, telling all my family and friends that I was set for life. I was in the highly competitive fashion buying world – every girl’s heaven right? Well…things never turn out the way you think they will. Especially in my world. Less than a year later (I didn’t even last a year) I grabbed my handbag and walked out in my heels and pencil skirt. Yes, I used to wear clothes that wear not made out of lycra and spandex. Would you be surprised to hear that I have over 100 pairs of heels? I kid you not. I had to donate a ton of them when I moved from Boston but there once was a Cassey who did not live in gym clothes all day.

I wanna write soooo much more right now, but I have to contain myself for the actual anniversary post. Something cool will be happening in about 1 and 1/2 weeks. I am trying soooo hard to find my actual quit date but I honestly don’t remember. I bet you the day I told my boss that I was leaving is the day that this “thing” is going to happen. All I just know is that it was like a week ¬†before Thanksgiving.

Without saying too much more, (sorry I’m teasing you!) today I wanna empower you guys to find true happiness and to live passionately. Take a serious moment to think about these questions:

If you’re in love, are you loving with your whole heart?

If you have a dream, have you woken up to turn it into reality?

If you want to succeed, are you driving yourself at full speed?

I find that a lot of people settle. They won’t admit it but I don’t blame them. Sometimes you have to mask the pain to live with it. But it doesn’t work that way for long. You begin to poison yourself with negativity and emptiness the more you try to live a life that’s not full of love, passion, and drive.

It takes time and maturity for someone to realize their path and their potential. From experience, I know that it’s hard to pinpoint what your true calling is – it’s MUCH EASIER to brush off one by one the things you hate. (Unfortunately if one of those things is your job…you’ll have to think about finances and other adult worries.) Give yourself time to listen to your gut and try to be sensitive to your feelings. These instincts are nature’s way of ultimately guiding you to your calling.

Whether you wanna quit your job or get the body of your dreams, the key to success is DRIVE. I’ve been seeing a lot of posts lately from you guys saying things like:

“This is hard, how do I stay on track?”

“I ate a cookie. I’m gonna beat myself up now.”

“I messed up. Will have to start over when I have strength.”

I wanna hold you by the shoulders, look you in the eye and say, “LOOK! Stop fretting the small stuff! Look at the big picture. If you want something SOOOOOOO BAD, you’ll do anything to get it right?? KEEP GOING!!!”

YOU will figure out how to get there. I promise you. IF you want it that badly, you will. Well, do you want it that badly?

Sure I can give you a step by step how-to guide on healthy living, but who wants to be governed by charts and numbers all day? You need to have it in you. You need to light your own fire. Put your head in the right place. See the end goal. And live for it. BE DRIVEN.

Motivated people are successful people. They say they want something and they DO IT. They don’t just talk about it. They execute.

So POPsters, today you need to get moving. Start being in tune with your mind & body and live life FULLY.

Now tell me…what are your goals and are you actively working towards them?

<3 Cassey

    Hi Cassey!
I discovered you and blogilates about a month ago, and I am so grateful I did!!!!! You’re so motivating, so energetic, and your videos are awesome! I actually want to do them – I love the pace and especially the short duration. Doing a bunch of videos is way more fun than one long one (imo). After reading, and thinking, and a lot of looking in the mirror, I decided to quietly participate in your 90 day challenge. Life did get in the way, so I started yesterday, and I’m so proud of myself, and so loving the supportive environment on your website and your facebook page! I’ve never really stuck with a workout program, but I’m determined to do this!
With about 25 pound to lose, you’ve finally given me the kick I need, and your positive words give me the inspiration and the knowledge that I can do this, and it’s ok to believe in myself! So on day 89 (today) I worked out again, and now I’m only 88 days away from a new me!
Thanks again- and please know you have a very grateful fan – you’ve inspired me to be a better me!!
    :)

I don’t have a lot of things I dream about other than the occasional beach vacation and a closet full of clothes that I love but I do dream about feeling comfortable in my skin and liking my legs again. I’m not “fat”, just out of shape. I’m so glad my sister stumbled upon your blog and sent me a post of yours. I read your posts daily, sometimes over and over again. I love how real yet inspiring you are Cassey! I have been working out regularly for the past 3 weeks and have been eating much better. My new dream/goal to achieve I AM GOING TO LIKE MY BODY AGAIN!! Can’t wait to see results! Thanks again!! By the way, all you other popsters make me tear up with your amazing stories! xoxo

Growing up my parents loved to travel, and they took me all over the world with them. When I was 14, after I spent 3 months backpacking in Europe with them, I decided my life goal was to travel as much as I can and experience the world not as a child tagging along with her parents, but as an adult making my own decisions.

Well, its finally happening. My first big traveling adventure that I planned and executed by myself is commencing in….23 days! I’m so proud that I’ve accomplished this. It took a lot of work, planning, budgeting and sacrifice, but I did it. I DID IT. Just a few years ago I had a fanciful idea to travel the Caribbean with my husband, and now its happening! I’m so stoked about my sense of accomplishment that I’ve already started thinking about our next big adventure; Asia!

But I have to thank you Cassey, this past year was really rough in terms of budgeting and planning. I’d get so down on myself and pessimistic, but I’d always work out. I’d see your infectious enthusiasm, read your blog, and be motivated by the fact that you’re accomplishing your dream, so why can’t I? So, Thank you again, for all that you do!

I agree with you 100%! It is hard, though, to remember that mistakes aren’t necessarily permanent when you’re in the thick of despair and negativity. That being said, if you want something enough, you brush off the mistakes! You can only get stronger.

BINGO. I mean the last part! :)

    Cassey,

I love that you can inspire me in the middle of a hard workout when my body is shaking and I really want to hate my trainer but I can’t because it’s you and you’re so great. And I love that you inspire me with posts like this!

    Thank you.

So true everything you say Cassey! It’s all about ourselves actually and how much we want it. And are we willing to sacrifice or do whatever it takes to get there, then go for it! If i hadn’t just gone for the DO IT, i would not have been where i am today. I literally built my business (a 3storey-building) up by hand with the help of 2 amazing men who has really proven what friendship is. I’ve never done construction in my life, and coming from a cold northern country doing it in tropical heat without air-conds or fans was just my will-power of getting to my goal. And even if the building is done doesn’t mean everything is done, everyday i make sure the place is running, looking after my guests and staff to make sure the place is top notch! It’s getting to 2 years soon (march 2012) and i have everyday put a piece of my soul into this. The 1st year i didn’t have any single day off, i didn’t leave this place, literally, i didn’t have any staff, but i made it to being the number 1. And when you get there it’s not over, you have to keep it up, it becomes a part of you and life, in every corner there will be someone standing trying to take your place…. And Cassey you have helped me to make work-outs being a part of my daily life and the goal i’m reaching for with my body and health.

This post was amazing by the way, i have these kind of thoughts every week, we have talks within the corporation with this topic atleast once a month. It’s healthy and a bit of a wake-up call to why we have submitted ourselves to something.

that construction made me lose about 7kg by the way. haha

I always wanted to be a mother and raise a family that was pretty much my dreams, and today I am doing exactly that at age 30 I have 2 beautiful girls who I would do anything for, who are my entire world! A man in my life who loves his family and would do anything for us. So I consider myself truly blessed! I am working hard to get the body of my dreams now, I one day just want to be comfortable in my own skin and be able to be completely satisfied with myself. I also would like to travel a whole lot but that has to wait until my kids are older. We want a farm and be able to raise our own livestock and crops and have a whole lot of land and a beautiful log cabin. So I know in time things could and will happen, like you said you just have to want it bad enough. My whole body image I wanted so bad but I never did anything about it, I always use to sit on the couch and cry and say why cant I look like those girls or have that body but how could I if I would just sit there?? Well I don’t know what happened but something in my head just went off and one day I just did it, I got up started eating clean and working out and I am so happy to say that I am almost there, I am almost looking like how I wished I would look! I also owe a great deal to you Cassey, you are very motivating and inspiring and real! You are a great trainer and I love what you do so keep doing what you do, you will shine xoxoxo . Anyways that’s enough rambling. Never give up on your dreams!
