Hey POPsters!!!

It’s nearing the end of November and I cannot believe the year is almost going to be over! I’m sitting here in my bed with my laptop on top of my covers looking out the window. It is so gloomy and rainy today in the Bay Area. Eew it makes me so sad. The only thing that can make this okay is a big chunky sweater, a cup of warm cinnamon-apple tea, and a vibrant fireplace setting!

Unfortunately that is NOT happening right now.

I need to edit your 1000 Workout for Thursday’s video and get packed for LA. I leave like in a few hours and my luggage is still sitting on the floor the same place where I left it last time when I got back home! Traveling is not as glamorous as it sounds. I really hate traveling. Well, I don’t like the act of traveling but being in new places is nice. It’s just that getting off my routine is really tough on me. It’s something I’m still trying to work on. But my diet and exercise routine goes crazy. I just always feel like I am on a vacay when I go somewhere. EVEN IF IT’S FOR WORK STUFF!!!! Yeah, so I always try to legitimize that it’s totally ok to have this ice cream dessert after dinner. Which is fine once in a while but not 3x a week 2-3 weeks out of the month – haha! So basically, travel has messed up my mind and I travel too much.

Anyway!

Last night, I was speaking with a friend of mine last night and we were talking about working hard and how to live life the way you dream it…it was one of those inspirational life talks. You know what I mean right? I was saying something about how I felt like there was so much going on, how overwhelmed I was, and how I felt so spread thin that nothing was going anywhere. But he reminded me a few things:

#1. Everything’s just fine. Stop worrying, it’s a waste of your energy. Keep chugging along and choose happiness.

#2. Hard work pays off. That’s just how the universe works.

#3. You don’t fail until you stop trying.

The last one resonated with me like you wouldn’t believe. I shared it on twitter and FB right away. I had never really thought about failure and success in that way…

You are not a failure until you become a quitter.

People who are successful are persistent and resilient. I mean, seriously, if you keep trying, you will eventually get where you want to go! You will. You just can’t stop until you get there.

So guys, today the thought I wanna leave with you is this:

You may fall a million times but it’s how you get back up that makes you stronger!

Hope you can apply this to the way you choose to live life passionately. I believe in you and so should you. You’re beautiful, full of character, and unique. You can do ANYTHING.

Love you,

<3 Cassey

I’m in for the pull-ups – only difference that I’m not even able to do one! I’m working with a resistance band and my BF’s pull-up bar. 🙂
Let’s see – Feb 28th is the day!

Try not to sweat the small stuff, your friend is right. And you know what, if there’s one thing i’ve learn’t from having anxiety, no one knows if you don’t show it…so hun you are stressing for nothing and EVERYTHING will come together as it should.

My son has a tattoo it says “Never a failure, always a lesson” A reminder to him that even thou he may stuff up stuff, its a lesson:) xx

Thanks so much Cassey for some wonderful words of wisdom, straight from the heart 🙂 I would add, however, that sometimes quitting is the strongest and best thing you can do in a situation. I came to that point recently, where I had to admit that carrying on was such a waste of my energy, time and finances, and decided to throw in the towel. I don’t consider myself a failure; instead I think it was the smartest (and scariest) thing that I ever did. I thought I had wanted this thing so much but several years, thousands of dollars, and countless hours later, I feel sooooo happy working towards something new. And with a little perspective, it’s exactly what I needed 🙂

Love you lots Cassey, thanks again for some great thoughts!

Cassey, I love you. ALOT. I feel like you are working too hard sometimes. I know you love it but you really have to leave time for you. Do you think you can start having guests post at times when you really need a break so you can have more Cassey time. This way when we do see you you’re the super Cassey that we all love!
    I love you girl!-Diane

As someone who is in the process of finishing college and applying to grad school, this is exactly what i needed to hear. Or read.

  14. Elizabeth says:

Cassey, yesterday I got uber stressed out over all the papers, projects, and presentations that I have due next week. This last year of college is taking a toll on me. Then last night I came to the conclusion that I was not going to stress any more, but just do it. For stressing about it just takes up time when I can be getting things done. I’m procrastinating right now, but I’m glad I stopped by your site, because it reminded me of what I promised myself last night. Thank you for helping keep on track 🙂 Have the best time you can in your travels.

  15. Jenny says:

    Thanks for this Cassey,

So encouraging and inspiring! It’s really good to be resilent and persistent with things that we love doing such as living a healthy and fullfilling life. However, somethings are not worth spending our energy on… there is no need to be resilent and persistent to the point of hurting ourselves such as by staying in abusive relationships or keeping a boring job when we could be following a dream. I think we need to “pick our fights” well to use our persistence and resilience as a power for self-improvement and to create our own happiness.

This same idea is one of my favorite lines from “The Last Kiss”! You can’t fail if you don’t give up!

Michael: I’m in love with your daughter Stephen, Maybe that doesn’t mean anything you but I’m standing here. You are her father, I am looking you in the eyes and I’m telling you I will do anything in the world to get your daughter back.
    Stephen: Really?
    Michael: Really.
    Stephen: Anything?
    Michael: I’ll do anything.
Stephen: People say that, they don’t mean it.
    Michael: But I mean it!
Stephen: Well it’s very simple… do whatever it takes.
    Michael: It’s that simple?
Stephen: Yes… you can’t fail if you don’t give up.
