WORKOUT DETAILS

Hey guys!

HAPPY MONDAY! Today you are working out with me and my handy dandy timer. If you want to burn fat, define your muscles, and work your whole body in 6 min, here’s a circuit that targets your legs, butt, arms, and abs! The 6 moves are:

QUICK SWEAT CIRCUIT

1. Football runs
2. Leg up crunches
3. Skaters
4. Up up down downs
5. Split squat jumps
6. Squat with side leg lift

(45 seconds on, 15 sec rest in between)

If this is your only workout today, repeat 4x with 30 sec rest in between rounds. If you’re following this month’s workout calendar, just do this workout once through.

I typically do a circuit like this at the gym (sometimes with weights and steps) and I go super duper hard for half an hour. I AM SWEATING like madness at this point. Then I end with 10 min of hard core abs. I usually do something like this a few times a week in addition to Pilates or weight-lifting for strength training and dancing as my cardio.

Oh by the way, I am wearing my new “Dream Believe Achieve” muscle tank in the video! You can check it out here.

I just got back from a girls’ mini vacay trip with my awesome friend Lisa (who’s a power woman at Quest by the way) this past weekend in Vegas. No, I am not the party-er type so we spent most of the time talking, drinking matcha green tea latte’s, shopping, getting our nails done, getting massages (I like them HARD thank you very much), and watching an awesome Michael Jackson tribute show! It was actually really funny watching people head off to the club as we were heading back to sleep, lol. But like, at 2am!

Here are some pics I wanna share with you!

This was our view from our room at the Cosmo! How gorgeous!

IMG_6711

I am IN LOVE with the baby blue color I did for my nails. Supposedly this brand stays on for a week max. So I’ll keep you guys updated on what happens.

013bacchanal

What’s Vegas without eating a buffet? You better bet I ate! Work hard, play hard! But the reason why I am posting this picture of the dessert from Bacchanal at Caesar’s Palace that I took from google is because of this: I FORGOT TO EAT THE DESSERT.

Never in my life have I EVER forgotten to eat dessert at a buffet.

This was a tragedy.

Lisa and I were just chatting, chatting, chatting, then we went for like our 5th round of “real food”, got full, and left! So one of these days, I will come back for you dessert at Bacchanal.

IMG_6741

I also met this cute little girl named Carina who came up to me to ask for my autograph on a red Li Xi envelope. She was the cutest thing ever. Just had to share!

IMG_6734

Next we were off to see Michael Jackson ONE at Mandalay Bay. Many of you may not know but I am a HUGEEEEEE MJ fan. I became obsessed with him when I was 16 after watching this 20/20 special where reporter Martin Bashir was bashing Michael for his child molestation charges. This was wayyyyyy after Michael’s stardom peak by the way. I don’t think very many people become fans after watching a special investigative report like that, but he grabbed my attention nonetheless.

Now, I don’t have a real say on his personal life, since I don’t think anyone really knows except for him, but what I can say is that Michael Jackson is the best performer who ever lived. His lyrics, his music, his passion, and for me especially…his dance…blew me away. I had never seen and felt anything like this.

Because of Michael Jackson, I really got into dance as a teenager. But the way he moved looked so intimidating and impossible. Either way, I kept re-watching his tapes and practicing for hours a day until I finally got somewhere. One day, I looked back at my reflection on the TV screen and omg, I was GLIDING. I had just taught myself how to MOONWALK! It was sooooo cool!

IMG_6731

The same year I discovered Michael, I also entered a pageant. For talent, I told myself that I would do a dance routine dedicated to MJ since I was so obsessed with him at the time. My mom sewed up my MJ costume, I wore the fedora, the white socks, the one glove, and when Beat It came on, I was so freaking nervous I could have died. But when I moonwalked across the stage, the crowd WENT BEZERK and I knew I was doing the right thing! It was so cool because it took me MONTHS to learn that one move. I was so so happy! That night I ended up taking home the crown. So, thanks Michael Jackson for inspiring me to do something I never thought I could do.

IMG_6728
Oh and get this! Lisa here was an even HUGER MJ fan than I was. She’s been to like 10 of his concerts, camped outside of his hotels to meet him, owns almost every type of MJ memorabilia that ever existed and once, SHE ACTUALLY DID MEET HIM.

It was like that time I met Taylor Swift and she sang songs to us at her LA home. That. Was. INSANITY.

IMG_6720

So that was a quick lil recap of my Vegas trip! If you were following my snapchat (blogilates), you got a glimpse of all the food I ate! Haha. It was awesome. But it was even more awesome spending time getting closer to a girl friend who 1 1/2 years ago was simply a work acquaintance.

I think it’s really important to put effort into your friendships and relationships. It’s the people experience that really makes life special and unique.

Alrighty, well time to get back on track and get ready to conquer this week!

Do you have a person or musician that you’re dying to meet? Who is it?

First off you are amazing, I can already feel myself becoming healthy your videos.
    Secondly, MJ!!!
Thirdly, I don”t mean to be one of those annoying pushy people, but when does the March calendar come out? Does it fit into USA time? I live in Australia and am practically a day ahead of the US.
If it comes out on March 1 (March 2 for me) that’s fine I can just do the first day of the FABruary Calender instead.
    Thank you so much <3

  3. Great post. I love your floral outfit.

  4. Bettyyy says:

Wow, you’re a MJ fan? I couldn’t believe my eyes when I read this. He’s still such an inspiration to me, and his music will always be amazing, just timeless. I have a shirt with a print of him (London O2, 2009) and a full concert DVD, and I just adore him. I think he was such a humble human being who had to suffer way too much. If he was still alive I’d die to meet him. However, I’d love to meet Jessie J and Ed Sheeran one day. 🙂 <3

  5. Laura says:

CL of 2ne1, and Taeyang from Bigbang (k pop singers) then the third is you! You’re so awesome!
Oh! And I was thinking that maybe one of your next videos could be about how to get rid of cellulite and a nutrition plan? Thanks!
    Love you all!

I would love to meet Harry Potter… But rlly, if he was an actual person and the series was all a ‘documentary’, then duh! In reality, I think I’d be rlly happy to meet anyone that I know of- especially you Cassey:)

    1. Azalea says:

OMGGG I LOVE HARRY POTTER AHHHHH!! lol

  8. Kristen says:

    Hi Cassey!

I just found your website today and I am so excited! My girls (ages 11 and 13) and I have been looking for a great website with quick/effective workouts for us to do together. They are going to absolutely love this! Imagine yourself projected onto our big flat screen over the fireplace while 3 very uncoordinated ladies try to keep up with you! Should be full of alot of laughter while we are trying!

  9. Crystal Lau says:

oh man, I’m just dying to meet John Mayer and hear him play live. It’s on the number one spot of my bucket list. I JUST HAVE TO HEAR HIM PLAY AND SEE HIM AND TELL HIM HOW HE HAS CHANGED MY LIFE, INSPIRED ME IN SO MANY WAYS.

God I’m getting too excited just dreaming about it. hahahaha But really, I love John Mayer.

And My Chemical Romance. (I’m glad I’ve seen them play live once. It was a once in a lifetime experience. I wish I got to meet them in person too. I would love to personally thank them for helping me get through middle school and some of the toughest and darkest times in my life.)

  10. Tayla says:

I can’t believe you got to go to Taylor Swift’s LA home and have her sing for you!!!! She is absolutely my number one famous person I would LOVE to meet!!!!!!! I’ve been obsessed with her since I first heard love story! She seems like such an incredibly, down to earth and lovable person! Really desperately hope to meet her someday soon!!!!

  11. Amy says:

But I was also wondering if you could do a video on cellulite and how to get rid of it :/

  13. Becky says:

I don’t think today was the best day to begin the blogilates workout plan. Seriously?? 4 min to a Hot Body AND Waist Whittler?? That’s over 8 minutes in plank. I need severe encouragement 🙁

  14. Looks so fun! Vegas is amazing! 🙂 🙂

  15. Olivia B. says:

Goodness, looking forward to doing a circuit (but today is stretches due to being sick)!
As for meeting anybody there’s a lot on my list. I met the Guess Who this summer, so that’s not it.
YouTube list: Tomska or littlekuriboh because both are reminders that even when you’re depressed, life carries on, and they have done beautiful things through depression.
Music: Colm Wilkinson tops my list for single broadway star I’d love to meet. He and whoever played Javert in the 10th anniversary inspired my passion for singing.
I’d love to meet Ed Sheeran, since his music got me through a really low point in life. I’d also love to meet the guys from Metallica.
Finally, I’d like to meet Brad Keselowski from NASCAR. He managed to save my life on the highway, and I’d love to be able to thank him in person.

  16. Sarah says:

My husband and I were in Vegas the weekend before that for his bday! We just missed you! We aren’t much for partying too. We saw La Rev, The Dream – it was so good! We also ate at “The Buffet” in The Wynn- DELICIOUS.

  17. rain says:

My person to meet is Rihanna, I mean she’s controversial as well, but I’m a Caribbean gal, and I love the fact that she is who she is and she doesn’t hide the not so great parts. That takes courage in a critical world, but no matter who you are, even the most saintly of persons, people still have issues with. Be Who You Are! that’s what I think she taught me

  18. Ymani says:

I loved to read your story 🙂 I love Michael Jackson too <3 I even have a tattoo 😉

  19. Amy M. says:

I was guessing you just liked him for his music, but he is a pretty controversial person to like.

  20. I loved hearing about your Vegas trip! I just went there and had a blast!

  21. Pam says:

Omg yes!! I’m dying to meet one direction they’re like my heroes whenever they sing or I hear one of their songs they instantly make me smile I would love to meet them and thank them for all they’ve done and for exciting really haha. x

  22. I would love to meet (and sing with!) Colm Wilkinson who played Jean Valjean in the 10th Anniversary of Les Miserable. He has the best voice and I just adore his persona. One day….

    1. Olivia B. says:

Yes yes yes! It would be a dream come true to meet him!

  23. Hailey says:

Sounds like a fun trip! I’m excited to do the new video; it’s perfect, because I got online looking for a cardio workout video to do while I’m snowed in today!

  24. Krista says:

Love the pics from your trip and the workout! That blue polish is gorgeous, definitely keep us updated on how it lasts. Also love the MJ pics. Definitely the greatest performer of all time!

  25. Rebekah says:

    2 words: MY BOOTY

It is so round and firm it is RIDICULOUS. I did not really expect this kind of results from this like WHAT?? Anyways could you like an arm challenge for March?? They are really sad looking right now 🙁
    Always in my heart,
    Rebekah

    1. Linda says:

Me too, Rebekah! I have a lot of belly fat, so I didn’t see the results of the ab challenge as much as I felt them. But I cannot believe how much my butt has changed in the last 24 days!

  26. Paige says:

I’d love to meet Lady Gaga one day 🙂 btw I LOVE the timed cardio workouts you do. Seeing the time left pushes me to keep going, so I hope you make more videos like that circuit one!

  27. Kathy says:

Thank you for all your videos and passion you share with us 🙂
I’m dieting with my parents this month. My main goal was to shake off the extra pounds I’ve gained last autumn and winter. I ate far too much junk because of stress back than and I was shocked when I wouldn’t fit in my summer trousers anymore! Somehow my body stored all the extra on my buttocks. Now it feels much much better.
So far I’ve lost about 6 pound and 6 inches round my booty thanks to your butt challenge too 😀 I’m thinking of re-doing this challenge next month. Maybe you could do a 30-day-challenge for legs or arms in March?^^ would be awesome!

  28. Emily says:

Alex Kapranos from group Franz Ferdinand, my high-school love 😀

    1. Olivia B. says:

Franz Ferdinand is rapidly becoming one of my favourite groups to listen to while working out or relaxing.

  29. Eliza says:

If I could meet any person I would meet you and Emma Watson! You are so inspirational and one day I truly do hope to meet you. I would also like to meet Emma Watson because she is such an amazing person and she embodies everything I wish to be; intelligent, kind, graceful, mature and many more things! <3

  30. Tiffany says:

Could you also do like a warmup or stretches you do before a workout? To loosen my muscles so they aren’t as sore.. i don’t do any warmups or stretches before i workout thats why it would be helpful if you had a video on some stretches or warmups to do thank you cassey i love you so much! <3

  31. Tete says:

I also wish I could meet you, obviously 😉 You are such an inspiration in my life and I wouldn’t be the person I am today without you. Hopefully you can do a meet-up in Hawaiʻi and I can you meet you then. I would really look forward to that. Thanks Cassey and have a great rest of the day 🙂

    1. Tiffany says:

I’m not sure because i have a lot of musical inspirations such as Taylor Swift or Fifth Harmony and etc. And that workout was great. it burned.. i wanted to give up and die.. it was killing game.. but you know what I FREAKIN LOVED IT <3 My bum and my legs hurt but.. sore today, stronger tomorrow!

  32. Tete says:

I really want to meet Sam Smith and Ed Sheeran. Anyways thanks for sharing about the trip and happy monday Popsters 😉

  33. Cassie says:

Sounds like fun!!! So glad to hear that you’re a MJ fan too!

  34. Taylor J says:

I hope to meet Taylor Swift, she is such an inspiration in my life and has been since 2007! I get to see her in concert in July so fingers crossed!!!
I also hope to meet you, Cassey! You have changed my life for the better and helped me achieve a better life style. Your positivity has always been such a help when I’m struggling with a routine or just need a reminder of why I’m doing this. I would love to experience the good vibes in person and meet you 🙂

  35. Jennifer says:

If I could meet any musician in the world it would be Sara Barielles. She has got to be one of the most talented song writers/musicians/performers ever. I’ve learned to play a couple of her songs on the piano. She’s kind of a mix of pop/bluesy style. Vegas, Gravity, and Manhattan are my favourite songs. The way her voice carries is amazing. So talented.

Do you ever do circuits of gym equipment machines? Ex. Chest Press, Leg Press, Bicep Curl Machine? I’m very curious as to what you think of this type of equipment. If you do utilize these machines, would you be able to do a video, or put together a routine I can take to the gym?

  36. I love this Vegas recap! I have yet to go and I am hoping to this summer =P Also PLEASE let us know how the nail polish lasts!! I quit UV gel because it’s been proven to be unhealthy. I just tested a few chemical free regular brands but most don’t last – always happy to learn about new ones!

  37. About how much do you let your heart rate settle while doing HIIT? Do you stay in an elevated heart rate zone more or less the entire time or do you let it settle down and fully recover before you raise it again?

  38. Alyssa says:

I totally hope to meet you someday, Cassey! 🙂

  39. Briana says:

I hope to meet Colin O’Donoghue one day <3

  40. Rachel says:
