POP Pilates Meet Up?
I’m sitting in bed trying to type a blog post as my body aches. Remember today’s workout command on facebook and twitter? I asked you to do squats to a whole song and pulse at the chorus. Well, I kind of did that yesterday ‘cept I had a 40lb barbell on my back. My butt hurts. It hurts in a way it has never hurt before. My badonkadonk is sore! (And I like it!) Joan, you should try it.
This Sunday I have the Nike Women’s Half Marathon to run in San Fran. I haven’t been talking about it much since, well, I haven’t been training for it much. I know, bad me. I’m not a “natural” long distance runner. I do it because it’s a good way to burn calories and my sister loves it so it makes the activity more enjoyable. In all honestly, I am a strength training girl and my sister is a cardio bunny. I would MUCH rather lift weights all day than run races. But life is about trying new things and constantly challenging yourself for improvement. I never in my life thought I could run a distance beyond 2-3 miles. Last month I did my first half marathon and in a few days I do it again! You can do it too. Just try to find the beauty and purpose behind your journey…it makes the whole process a lot more enjoyable.
Will any of you guys be running this race?
I have so much to tell you! I don’t know where to start. I feel like a lot has been happening and I want you to know what’s going on because friends need to update each other right?
BAGS, BAGS, BAGS
OK, so my oGorgeous & Flomme yoga bags and gym bags. OMG guys. They are set to ship here on Nov 5 and will arrive around Thanksgiving time. I know, super late, but barely in the nick of time for the holidays! I think you will love them. I’ve been working sooo hard traveling, drawing, staring at fabric swatches, editing spec sheets etc etc and basically being on the computer all day long! And night. I think a lot of you notice that you get tweets at all hours of the day. Well those aren’t robot-generated, friends. It’s actually me trying to keep myself awake by updating my status messages 🙂
The new bags have ventilation holes, sweat proof fabric lining, pockets everywhere, and are so perfect in every way! I handpicked every detail that’s on those bags and it’s so cool to see everything come together as a physical product. Just a few years ago in college I was crying every night wondering what my purpose in life really was. The science papers I had to research didn’t ignite my flame. I was miserable. That story alone deserves its own blog post. Later. All I ever wanted was to be a designer but my strict Asian parents said that I’d NEVER make it.
Today they are actually supportive of me. It surprises me but I guess what it took was a strong stance and a determination to follow your passions. In the end, all parents really want are for their kids to be happy.
In a little over a month, they will be there with me to watch as the huge truckload of bags arrives at theOaklandport. I can’t believe this is happening guys! I can’t wait to show you my babies 🙂
Oh YouTube. Thank goodness for YouTube. If I never uploaded that first horribly edited video after I graduated in 2009, I don’t know where I’d be today.
Eew just watched that. I’m so lame. “Let’s get started and let’s get sore.” Hahaha
Thanks so much for doing my workouts and telling me that you like them! You were the ones who urged me to upload more. Remember the days when it’d be like 3-4 months between each upload? (Those were the horrendous days when I had a 9-5 job inBoston. Eeeeeek. Nightmares!) Now YouTube and blogging are my life! (Well, a big part of it.)
I was recently contacted by a production studio in LA that reps some of the biggest names on YouTube. I was in utter shock and thought the email was fake. But it wasn’t. I don’t wanna say too much because I might jinx this.
Oh uhh, I guess I just said it.
But umm…I’m crossing my fingers, toes, legs, and heart hoping for something good. If it all works out, we can really grow our Blogilates community and I can make even higher quality workouts for you all. Will you pray for me too?
POTENTIAL POP PILATES MEET UP!
OK so now I finally get to the point!
Recently, I’ve been getting a REALLY awesome sense of community on here and on facebook. You guys truly wow me with your enthusiasm and your support of each other. I want to meet you.
I want to plan some sort of a POP Pilates meet-up inSan Francisco. Would you be able to come? I know a lot of you guys are international fans, so I am sorry, but we’ll record it and you can workout with us on YouTube!
Please tell me in the comments below if you are in the Bay Area and if you can meet with me and your fellow POPsters on the weekend one day. We could do an awesome Pilates sesh and then chat afterwards. Bring your own mats kinda thing. Informal. Cool. Easy breezy.
