Hey guys!

It is a new month and we are going to #reJUNEivate! I hope you already printed the workout calendar (click here) and have it hung up on your wall! This week’s new standing Pilates video is called “Killer Legs”. Even though it is only 4 min long, IT BURNS!

1. Narrow Squat Slider (A). Begin in a narrow squat with feet and knees touching, bent down low in a squat.

Narrow Squat Slider (B). Keeping one leg stationary and bent low in the squat, straighten one leg out before sliding it back in to starting. Remain low the whole time. Do not rise up!

2. Narrow Squat Lifter (a). Begin with one leg bent, one leg stretched out.

Narrow Squat Lifter (b). Lift outer leg straight up and down.


I saw some comments on YouTube saying that this video was “too easy” or that they “couldn’t feel it.” Okay peeps. Listen up. I said, keep your stationary leg bent low. REALLY LOW because you’re in a single legged squat THE WHOLE TIME. Your butt, thighs, and quads should be tingling!! If not, you are not going low enough. Trust me. Check your form.

I also noticed that someone else said they felt themselves hurting their back while doing this. Please remember to keep your chest up, shoulders down, back as flat as possible. Do not hunch over. That’s when the back begins to hurt. Lift your chest!

If you’re ever feeling like taking the Killer Legs challenge for a go but don’t have me around, just pick a song you like, and start with Narrow Squat Sliders on the right for 8, then on the left for 8, then go to Narrow Squat Lifters for 8 on the right and 8 on the left…all the way til the end of the song! Give it a shot!

    if i do this workout whole month everyday, will i lose fat on my legs?

    That’s a good plan you have there. I am not over weight but i carry my weight in my butt, thigh, and legs. Hope this exercise that will help me loose the weight fast.

    Well I sure did feel it the morning after….

    I do have a suggestion though, if you could, please, have the background music a little louder? Especially in the ”songs-challenge” videos? Unless of course, it’s an issue with your microphone then, nevermind me at all!

    I loved it and well… mostly all your videos! I like when they are shorter so I can do them all!

  6. I just took my first ever Pilates class yesterday and I fell in love. For so long I have tried and tried to make myself love yoga… but what I really needed was Pilates. I was told to check out your videos so I can start practicing at home. So excited! Downloading the calendar now.

    Hi Cassey,

    I think the exercises were good, but one thing I’ve noticed with your videos lately is that they lack soul. My favorite videos are your early ones like Call Me Maybe Squats or The Corset Workout. They were fun, and exciting and made me want to jump up and do the workout with you. Your later videos seem to lack that soul and spark that brought me to your blog in the first place. I don’t mean to criticize, but I really miss the kind of workout tapes you used to make.

    Would you consider doing a 30 minute full body stretch routine? I LOVE your stretching videos, however, when I do them together it doesn’t feel quite balanced.

    I’ve been doing your videos for years now and still love them! Thanks so much for everything you do here!

    Hi Cassie,
    I loved this workout… in fact, I love pretty much all of your workouts and you are the only person who can get me off the couch and working out! I was wondering if you had any advice or exercise tips for people with varicose veins. I’m young and definitely not overweight but I have inherited them (thanks mom!) and they ache and look super ugly. Can you help??

      I think you can have them removed with injections in plastic surgery clinics or some dermatologists clinics… You should check it out!

    I’m LOVING the June calendar! There are just enough workouts a day and I really feel on track like I’m actually completing something. Thanks so much Cassey! You are so optimistic in the videos and I just love this program! I’ve done the beginners calendar for 2 months and this is my first official monthly calendar!     Great challenge! My legs are on f-i-r-e! I’ve just complete it at work now in my 10 minutes break. At first I felt it was way to easy, but then I lowered myself a little bit more and suddenly I was my stationary leg was really starting to work and feel the burn. 🙂 I’ll add this to my at-work workouts! How often do you recommend this challenge to be done per week?
