Easiest Healthiest Ice Cream in the World!!!

Hey POPsters!!

I have an ice cream video for you! I’ve posted this recipe before, but never had a chance to film it. This creation is so easy, it’s insane!

INGREDIENTS:

– 1 banana

– 1 TBS of peanut butter (optional)

cassey ho food bites

Like my matching banana necklace?

banana

Dicing my bananas into coins!

freeze bananas

Freeze time!

peanut butter

Mix that all natural unsalted peanut butter in there and blend it up!

healthy banana ice cream

This is what it looks like! SO GOOD!!!!

In the video, I coined the bananas first, froze it, then blended it. This made it hard to blend so I had to add almond milk to make it stir. I later got a comment that made me go “AHHH well isn’t that a good idea!!!”

I suggest trying this: Blend a ripe banana with peanut butter. THEN FREEZE!! After a few hours, scoop it out into a bowl. I am going to try this tonight and let you know how it turns out. Should be much thicker!!!

What video should I do next? What recipe do you wanna see healthified!?

Happy Valentine’s day!

<3 Cassey

OMG! THANK YOU CASSIE! Just did this today, but only had half a banana frozen so mixed in like 5 raspberries… it was amazing! Better than store bought ice cream. It’s really rich and creamy. Loved it. 🙂

  19. Kirsten says:

I’ve been making this for months. I usually add almond milk because I always use frozen bananas. Plus I add cocoa powder because I love chocolate!

  20. ivana says:

I was preparing to make this ice-cream since the day you posted it, Cassey, but I was always forgetting to buy peanut butter. Finally here it is, melting in my mouth, adorable! I topped it with blended raspberries! Who could know clean food could be so tasty! I just can’t express how surprised I am 🙂

  21. Sasha says:

Okay, I know this might be weird, but when I made this ice cream I felt like it still needed something. I was trying to think of what would go with it and it hit me. Duh! Celery and peanut butter are amazing together! So I ran to grab some celery, dipped it in, and took a bite. Super YUM!!! I probably won’t ever eat this as ice cream but I’m definitely going to keep making it as a dip!

  22. Cassie says:

I watched this video and got all pumped to go and make some icecream and i had no bananas!!! :O but i made it the next day and it was amazing!!! definitely worth trying! 🙂

  23. Anna says:

  24. Laycee says:

    Hi Cassey!
I just made this and OMG…it is so good!!! It’s even better than regular ice cream in my opinion. Plus, I don’t have to feel guilty after eating it! lol I did have to add a little bit of milk though in order for it to blend smoothly. 🙂
I found your blog about a month ago and so far have made every banana recipe you have. My family thinks I’m crazy when I say I’m going to make something with banana and only one other ingredient AGAIN, but it always turns out delicious in the end! 🙂 I definitely have been buying a lot more bananas this month. 😉 haha
Keep these simple, easy, delicious recipes coming! 😀

  25. Emily says:

    Two questions:
What can I substitute the banana with?

In your videos can you please post where you got your outfits? Pretty please with a yummy cherry on top!

  26. Jessica says:

OMG Cassey this is soooo good! I’ve been making this every week and my whole family and I just love it.

  27. Nina says:

I do this all the time. In our supermarket they sell all kinds of frozen fruits. I love putting frozen strawberries and cherries in the mix with just a little soy milk (soy milk is sweeter than regular milk). Tastes great!

  28. Asha says:

I made this yesterday and it needed some liquid, so I added 1/2 TBSP maple syrup (didn’t have any milk).
It was good, but would have been better if I used more peanut butter (maybe it would have tasted more peanut buttery if I used natural peanut butter?).

I usually make it with 1 TBSP milk and 1 TBSP of cocoa powder, it’s so good that way 🙂

  29. Clarissa says:

OH EM GEEE! This is so delicious, not to mention simple. When I saw the how to video on YouTube last week, my 4 year old was watching it with me and urged me to make some for her right away…I had just bought fresh bananas that day and told her that we would have to wait until the bananas formed brown spots – freckles, as she calls them – before making some. When I finally made some, she then had me making it for 3 days straight. I’d say we definitely have a new favorite dessert in the house!

BTW, Cassey, said 4 year old saw you on one of Mike Chang’s vids and said “there’s the banana peanut butter girl! I like her, she’s gorgeous…and she makes good food!” 🙂

  30. Micheala says:

Just made this today and love….love….love it! So yummy.

  31. Lily says:

I love you Cassey for these easy and healthy recipes. I never have enough time nor enough ingredients around to make fancy stuff, but I love these two ingredient foods. I made the easy cookie before and now I just made this ice cream recipe. So good! Thank you for all these food bites and for motivating me that eating healthy is not so hard!

  32. Sara H says:

This sounds soooo delicious! In fact, it also looks delicious :$
I can’t wait to try it!! I LOVE ALLL YOUR VIDEOS SO MUCH!
And you inspire me, you just do what you love, and what you love helps others too <3 I love you Cassie!

  33. Sabrina says:

Tried over the weekend and i thought it was 10x better than orginal ice cream. Going to try your Burpee challenage. I’m ready to burn.

  34. Faith Kelly says:

Hmmmm… could you use Nutella instead of Peanut Butter for variety? Might not be as healthy but it may do just the same?

    1. Barbs says:

I’ve tried it! But didn’t turn out too good, I didn’t even like it too much while eating it! But I managed to survive.

  35. Rylie Huber says:

    Love ya Cassey!!!

  36. Alex says:

Hi! Just made this – so excited to eat! I did the opposite way round, put a normal banana in a blender to make it creamy and now its freezing – how long do you think I’ll need to freeze it for? Thanks! x

  37. Joyce says:

O.M.G! This sounds so fantastic and yummy! I can’t wait to try out this recipe!

  39. Lara says:

oh i done this ice-cream since last summer, sometimes i add some berries, may be half of orange, it so delicious

  40. Melina says:

We’ve made ice cream with frozen bananas at our house many times in the past, and what we always do is freeze the bananas whole, then break them into about 4 pieces when you’re ready to blend them up with the other ice cream ingredients (peanut butter in this case). I think they freeze a bit softer that way, but the ice cream is still thick and creamy.

  41. Megan says:

No offense Cassey, but ALL your recipes are sooo repetitive.

    Banana +oats (Pancakes or whatever)
    Banana+ PB
    Banana+Oats (Cookies)
    and the list goes on.

Could you kindly add more variety?

I can bet a 100 bucks I’ll get pounded on for this comment, which btw, isn’t a “hate” comment, but constructive criticism.

    Ciao

    1. wilma says:

i agree, i can’t eat bananas and would like to know if there is at least an alternative to banana in these recipes 🙂

  42. Ula says:

I add a teaspoon of cacao powder and it tastes perfect 😉

  43. helena says:

These recipes make me sad because they are so healthy and look so delicious but I’m allergic to bananas 🙁 Are there any things I can substitute instead?

  44. wendi says:

    this. is. ssssooooo. good.

  45. doryxna says:

What kind of blender do you use? I’d like to purchase one but don’t know much about them~ I’d love to try this!! I’m craving ice cream but this would curb it!

    1. Stephanie says:

If your banana is ripe enough, you don’t even need a blender. You can just mash it up really well with a fork and then kind of smoosh the peanut butter in until it’s fully mixed. It takes a bit more effort, but it definitely works. I do that right before I leave for work, then scoop it all into a cup and take it with me. If I stick it in the freezer right when I get to work, by the time I’m ready for a snack, it’s nice and frosty.

  46. Dunja says:

I made this but I added frozen mixed berries and almond milk before blending. Amazing!

  47. shandell says:

Soo yummy! Never thought of this before…thanks for the recipe!

  48. Hailey says:

I just made this but also made a berry one,
A raspberry and strawberry ice cream, I froze the berries but instead of PB, I put low fat Greek yogurt, then I put it in the freezer for another two hours. It’s delicious!!!

  49. Sarah says:

This looks so delicious! Shame my blender broke last time I put frozen banana slices in it..

  50. Fee says:

I made this tonight (without the almond milk version). It was really yummy! I made another batch for another night. I didn’t blend it to smooth. The banana bits and crunch peanut butter made it extra yummy 🙂

  51. Staci says:

This looks so yummy BUUUTTTT im allergic to bananas 🙁 Ever since i had my baby ive been allergic to bananas and kiwis 🙁 So sad, cause i love bananas. Any suggestions for anything else that may work the same 🙂 It seems that bananas are a staple in the fitness dessert world and i cant partake 🙂

    1. Sabrina says:

Can you eat other fruits? I love self made berry ice cream: For 3-4 portions, throw 250g frozen berries (or frozen chopped fruit, mango is my fav!) in a blender and add 100-250ml full fat milk (you need some fat, otherwise it won’t be creamy). Blend until you’re happy with the result and re-freeze it for about 30-40 minutes.
If you put it on a plate – some chopped almonds will keep the ice cream on it (otherwise it’s very slippery).

      1. Staci says:

mmmm Sounds good! I can have everything else but Kiwi, ill swell up like a balloon! Crazy kids making me allergic to everything! 😉 thanks for the suggestion ill have to try it out!

  52. wokinthedog says:

  54. marie says:

  59. Bianca says:

    Hi 🙂
Awesome recipe, but I’m allergic to PB so what can I use instead? 🙂
Oh and you should totally make healthy recipes for like pizza or something like that? 🙂

    1. Hailey says:

If you are not allergic to soybeans you could use soy butter, it tastes just like PB but with out peanuts, also u could use almond butter, but I prefer soy butter!

  60. Samia says:

Maybe a healthified brownie and nuts?

  61. Helena Brearley says:

Hey cassey! I’d really appreciate it if you could do a recipe for a clean eating birthday cake, thanks :’)

  62. Krystal F says:

I wonder what it’d taste like if you substitute regular peanut butter for powdered natural PB2 peanut butter? I’d think it’s the same thing! Input? Also, I thought if you put bananas in the freezer, they’d ruin?

  63. Janet says:

I love ice cream and I’m so going to try this recipe.

  64. Heather says:

I made this last night!!!!! Oh so good!!!!!

  65. Allison says:

What a great idea: I love this! So excited to try it out later 🙂

  66. Sarah says:

Super Good! Luv it! BTW, i have an addiction to peanut butter and I think i’ve been eating to much of it, I read somewhere that you should have only 2-3 tbsp a week…. (my heart broke :p) Is this true?

    1. Caity says:

Good god, I hope not!! I eat like 2-4 tbsp PER DAY (a jar every few weeks)! lol 🙂 I’m sure if you eat right (and in moderation) and exercise most days of the week, you should be fine. 🙂

  67. Your recipes are allways great! My boyfriend (who is a fruit enthusiast) showed me this one last year and we then added some variations. The banana/apple combination was the best, with a little cinammon on top. Try it, you won’t regret it!

  68. steph says:

I can’t wait to try this! Looks amazing! 🙂 Thanks for the recipe Cassy xx

  69. Elena says:

I already have my banana in the freezer 🙂 Can’t wait to try it! Yum! Thanks Cassey

    1. Elena says:

P.S. Oh I forgot to ask if you could possibly do a healthy version of some sort of pie or maybe tiramisu 🙂
