Not feeling so good. | 84 of 90
Not having a good day. Or week. I’m not feeling my best. It doesn’t have anything to do with my 90 day journey – so don’t worry.
It’s just that I’m so weak when it comes to dealing with other people’s opinions of me. I don’t know why I let it bother me. It shouldn’t. Especially not after 10 years of being a “public figure”. But it still does. The same way it always did like when I was in high school. I am so afraid of making other people unhappy. I allow people’s opinions of me to rock me to my core, make me cry, and in the end, I crumble to pieces.
Every week, I write in my Fit Journal to stop letting the comments negatively affect my well being. And every week, I fail. I’m sad, but I’m just going to fully be with this feeling for now…and learn any lessons I’m supposed to learn while my soul is heavy.
Anyway…I’m gonna change the tone because this blog post is getting too sad. Plus it’s 11:35PM, I’m tired, and I need to wake up early again tomorrow to rent an SUV and drive into the woods for the 1st ever Popflex Powergirls Retreat!
Here’s a pic of Sir George to cheer us all up.
OH and yes we just came out with a matching vegan suede mat to accompany your 2020 Fit Planner!!! This makes me very VERY happy. I love matching things.
We even made a matching cotton carrying strap! I call this design “Happy Girls“!
And this design is “Lush Garden“!
It also has a matching cotton yoga strap!
If you guys are in the market for a new yoga mat, this is the one. The texture is velvety soft, the color never fades, it’s thick and cushiony, and you don’t slip as you get sweatier! In fact, your hands get grippier as you get sweatier. How cool is that? You can check out all the designs here.
Fit Journal entry. Yesterday I filmed 7 workouts. Nuff said.
93% carbs, 3% fat, 4% protein
Early morning banana to fuel my early morning shoot.
33% carbs, 30% fat, 37% protein
5 workouts in. Lunch was jerk chicken, jerk beef, jerk tofu, kale salad, spring mix salad, and beans with a side of watermelon.
19% carbs, 35% fat, 46% protein
Cauli rice, eggs, chicken skewers, broccoli, furikake, sriracha and a side salad.
54% carbs, 18% fat, 28% protein
Turkey and broccoli with furikake.
Shrimp with cocktail sauce.
Post workout banana. 7 workouts done.
Oatly ice cream. Can’t get enough.
Overall, yesterday I came in at 1,604 calories and 170g carbs (42%), 45g fat (25%), and 136g protein (33%).
Okay, I’m falling asleep. Talk to you later! Tomorrow is day 1 of the Popflex Powergirls Retreat! So excited!!!!

Sir George is the cutest!~!! Idk if you’ve watched them on Youtube, but it reminds me of cooking with dog. They aren’t around anymore, but I can see them in yours and it makes me happy.
You probably won’t see this but know that you’ve been a huge inspiration to me since the day I’ve found your channel. You have helped soooo many people, encouraged so many of them, cheered them up, made them feel happy (-ier), strong (-er). You have made better humans out of us. It’s really sad all the criticism, negativity and hate you receive. You are such a beautiful person, Cassey, who is deserving of so, so, soooo much love, peace and laughters. LOVE YA, DANG IT!!! haha.
Yep, the yoga mats are beautiful! Do you think you’ll be doing other mats like the “Foliage” one??? I never got my hands on it and have been wondering if there will be other yoga mats with that theme
I hope you do feel better as you finish your 90 day journey of self. 🙂 It is hard to shake off negative comments/opinions that others feel the need to dump on you. It is a struggle to brush those types of things off and understand that everyone has their own views, and you have your own. You have worked very hard for what you have (not just physically, but mentally, emotionally, and occupationally). If it helps, just know that while 1 out of 100 people say something harmful to you, the 99 people who appreciate you are so happy with who you are. You have helped thousands of people grow and accept themselves. That is a huge achievement, helping others. Not enough people can guarantee they have changed the world in a positive way, and Casey, you have been very positive. We, your pilates fans, wish you the best, always. 🙂 💛
Hi, I just want to let you know amidst all these negative comments that I now am a supporter of yours BECAUSE of the 90 days journey. I don’t live under a rock so I’ve always known who you are, but ever since I came across your 90 days journey I’ve been following along, every step of the way 🙂 So I know you can’t just ignore the nancies, but know that you also got supportive new followers from this amazing journey of yours.
Hi Cassey, just wanted to let you know that by being so honest and sharing the sad AND happy moments in your life you are making my bad week feel a little better 💛 thank you for your courage and honesty
Everyone has unhappy weeks every now and then and that’s ok! We want to hear from the real Casey, not just a fake happy Cassey, so post whatever you feel like, we are here for you. Thank you for being honest. ❤️
Hi Cassey, in today’s society and age, and with the power of anonymity, I think it’s natural to get positive comments together with negative ones. I think it would be concerning if the comments are really hateful or jarring, but otherwise I feel that you shouldn’t be too bothered. I agree with some of the commenters below who mentioned that learning not to care too much about what others say about you is a tough journey, because we are human after all — no matter how much we tell ourselves those comments don’t matter, the more we think about them. I think it would be wise to filter out comments which are plain hate, but you can perhaps view comments that are of constructive criticism in a more positive light. No one is perfect, and you can see it as a journey for you to grow and become even stronger as a person! It’s impossible to make everyone happy, and honestly, you don’t have to! Just be yourself and those who love and appreciate who you are will stick by (-:
Again, you should get a moderator to screen your comments first to let you see the ones you want. It’s not ok to feed into the negativity. Being a public figure, you will always be judged more harshly than others unfortunately. Hopefully this experience will only make you stronger. Learning to not care what others think is a process. Especially if it is in your nature to be a people pleaser. If the comments aren’t adding anything good to your life, let them in one ear and out the other. Focus on what really matters.
I agree with you totally! (-:
I don’t know if you will even see this post, but I really hope you do! I wanted to give you some perspective on the comments that might seem like hate comments. I think for the most part these comments are not designed to hurt you, but actually might be fans and/or friends of yours who are trying to look out for you. What do I mean by that? Well take for example my best friend always tells me to be careful and she worries I’m getting too thin. Like you I have goals, but because she cares about me she sometimes expresses reservations. My boyfriend, on the other hand, encourages me to do more. They both say it differently but in the end they’re trying to look out for me and care for me. The same goes for the women who are worrying about you. I think they really care about you Cassie. They might not mean it as hate, so please just keep this in mind.
Anyways you’re a true inspiration so just keep going girl! Excited to be part of this family and hoping someday I get the motivation to go on a journey of my own. I know you don’t know me, but you kinda feel like a big sister to me. Keep shining forever both inside and out.
It’s your blog Cassie. You are the unique one of a kind successful person that invented pop pilates. Just delete the hater comments! >:D Also you have to release your emotions, like a surgeon that cuts an abcess open to allow drainage. The pain goes away quickly. I think your release is dancing since that makes you happy
Cassey, I am so thankful that you have been sharing your journey with us this whole time. I know how difficult it is to be visibly vulnerable and honest, but the world needs more of that, and of course more of YOU as your true authentic self. Before you started this challenge, I never ever considered that getting hard data on what I ate would be beneficial to my health and mental wellbeing. However, after seeing how helpful logging your nutrients has been for you, I have started to do that for myself. I, like you, wanted to make sure that I am putting the best things in my body for the best output. From a fellow athlete and PopPilates enthusiast, THANK YOU. Your work, your videos, and your voice matter.

of course you care about what others think of you- Of course you let that opinions affect you. How could it be differently, given that you are a person who cares about others, giving your heart and talent to make other peoples life better – I don´t always agree with what you say, but I am deeply grateful for you giving your everything. I think, your vulnerability is part of that, so this is nothing that just goes away. But it is what makes you so damn beautiful and this shiny, empowering, amazing woman.
Did you see this video – I think it was soooo well said! In YOUR defense!
Cassey, you’ve changed so many peoples’ lives. You deserve all your success and greatness and everything you’ve worked hard to achieve. I’ve been looking forward to the new year so I can star using the 2020 fit journal!
I think the hate mostly comes out of a place of jealousy. I think that it’s fantastic that you have challenged yourself and I am very motivated to keep working at my goals. Seeing your blog posts and instagram pictures is very empowering! I even started to try out dance workouts just to have some moves in case I go clubbing :P.
My friend, on the other hand, is the type that wants to see other people fail and is very critical. I think most critics come from a place like my friend where no extreme diet can help them become an fit instagram model and would like to see you fail just for self-validation. It’s not you Cassey, it’s completely them! No explanation would get them to change their minds and it’s unfortunate that many would rather spew out hate than to give constructive feedback.
Get someone to weed out online comments! I know this doesn’t help with people IN PERSON but this would be a start 🙂
Criticism is not hate
One idea that can help us overcome the ‘haters’ is to feel gratitude for their voices. Feel grateful that:
+ People are paying attention to what you have to say
+ Their words are allowing you to grow and be even STRONGER!
+ Their words are allowing your true supporters to connect with you authentically and feel even more support for you!!
Until this 90 day journey blog, I would never have commented this. But your authentic voice is connecting with me, and now I am almost done with my 12 week fit planner, and I want to get the 2020 fit planner!! I got converted from a passive observer to a passionate fan that wants you + your team to take my $$!!
This is so good! Thanks for sharing. Gratitude is my attitude.
Thank you for your words.
I decided to write a comment here after reading this post, I am honestly very sorry you are getting so many negative comments just because you decided to adjust and make some personal changes regarding your food and workouts; just because you are a “public figure” does not mean they are allowed to tell you how to live your life or criticize you so heavily. I really don’t understand why people are like this, I could even bet that if you would have gone through this whole transformation without making it public, people would have just commented on how strong you were starting to look and asking what were you doing differently.
I admire you Cassey, and I understand your motives behind your personal 90-day challenge, I myself went through a lot this past year to the point I felt my life was out of control and there wasn’t anything I could do to make things better since everything that was affecting me was external and I had zero control over it, this made me stop caring for myself: I stopped doing anything that would be considered self-care, that means no haircuts, no skincare routine, not doing my nails or exercising, stopped taking my art lessons, reading, etc. You could say I just stopped doing all the things I enjoyed doing for myself.
I just fell everything was pointless since life itself wasn’t the best… that was until I suddenly realized that I was wrong, that I decided to let things affect me in such a negative way that I forgot the one thing I had control over was, well, myself. I could and can care for myself, and by just doing that, I can make life better (by feeling better). So I decided to go on a journey myself, to bring myself back to where I used to be.
This is getting very long and also very personal, but Cassey what I am trying to say is I understand you and I support you, only you can know what is best for yourself and what the real reasons behind all these changes are. Please take care of yourself and remember that there are a lot of us POPsters cheering on you and wishing you well.
<3 <3 <3
Cassey, I haven’t agreed with a lot of things you’ve done and said lately. There have been problematic things that I’ve wanted to address. But this does not mean that I think you’re a bad person. I think you’re human. And humans makes mistakes. There are constructive criticism in your comment section that can’t be called of as hate. I believe that because criticism makes you sad you choose not to listen. I think it would be better for everyone if you instead of trying so hard to defend yourself tried to create a discussion where you’re open to the criticism. The posts where you defend yourself doesn’t hold up. You take one little thing in all of the points people are making and put all the focus on that. For example, the body positive thing, the eating disorder thing. You have to see the big picture and listen to the actual criticism. I’m not going into that now because I want to stick to the main focus of this comment: Cassey, you are a wonderful person who I believe only wants good. But sometimes you’re wrong and you have to accept that. Listen and learn and improve.
Side note: There are also hateful comments that can be ignored! Only listen to the people who are putting it nicely.
You’re honestly my favorite blogger/trainer and I love what you do. I’m always so excited to read your blog posts in the morning because they help me go through my day with more intention and happiness. Never stop being you; I love that you’re so honest and write what you’re feeling. That’s how blogs were meant to be in the first place-an online diary!
I come from a foreign family and I have also always struggled with wanting to help everyone else and put everyone else forward first. Your 90 day journey has helped me a lot (and frankly so has following you for the past 8 years) in overcoming some of those issues.
As a night shifter, the less I sleep, the more little stuff bothers me. So I hope you actually get to RETREAT on your retreat this weekend and get some dang sleep girl!
❤️❤️❤️ from Missouri
I’m glad you like the posts 🙂
what negative comments? You delete anything that’s not compete praise.
I’m sorry that all this negativity reaches you in a bad way 🙁 Stay strong, I’m with you since 2011 and probably will stick around for your videos for old ladies pilates:) <3 I'm also copy pasting my previous comments because i owuld be really could if you replied!
I’m so surprised that your calories were around 1200! It seems like so much food! Aren’t you hungry during the day? I’m curious because now I’m at1800 kcal diet and I’m thinking about reducing it to 1500, since I have similar body to you and you work out hell more than I do! Does the food give you power to work out? I’m really curious, love you <3
PS What's your opinion on Taylor's "Lover"? You mentioned listening to it couple of times but I think you never shared your final thoughts 🙂
I’m so sorry that the negativity is getting to you. Please know that for every hater there are hundreds more cheering you on. Usually when people are negative it’s more about THEIR issues. Keep your head held high girl. I know it’s easier said than done, but don’t give the haters power by bringing you down. That’s what they want, and they win. Instead, try to let the positive comments give you new strength and light- again, easier said than done. Stay true to yourself, and enjoy that retreat!
Thank you for your kind words. I need to look at the light more.
Ahh Cassey!! I’m so sorry to hear you’re feeling low. Please know how much your POPsters really love and appreciate you – what you do and who you are inspires so many people each day. Have the most amazing time on your retreat, you completely deserve it. Sending you positivity!!! Xxx
