Playing with equipment | 75 of 90

I’ve been toying around with the idea of creating something special for you guys in terms of working out with equipment at home. Nothing bulky and expensive, but things to help enhance the Pilates you already do with me! Strength training with body weight is amazing. I do it all the time. But sometimes, you want to change up the speed and challenge your muscles in a different way, and equipment is a an easy way to shock the body.

Currently testing out a lot of things, so don’t expect anything too quick. I’m taking time to make sure what I create for you is the BEST.

On another note, next weekend the POPFLEX Powergirls are all getting together for a girl’s trip in the woods! The Blogifam has been planning this trip for a LOOOOONGGG time so we are excited to finally make it happen! We’re renting a cute cabin for all of us to stay in!!! EEEeeeeEEeEeeEEEe!!! It’s gonna me like one big slumber party for all the girls! I cannot wait to see everyone. It’s gonna be so fun. Should I record a vlog from it?! Would you watch?

Yesterday’s Recap:

I totally left my Fit Journal at the office! So sad I can’t fill it out today 🙁 It was apparently a very forgetful day as I ALSO forgot to take a pic of my salad!!! Sad times!!

LUNCH:

29% carbs, 60% fat, 11% protein

714 calories

I had the Impossible Taco Salad (vegan) from Mendocino Farms. This is also their professional salad picture, not mine 😛 As a snack, I had some toasted coconut chips that I ALSO did not take a pic of. FAIL after FAIL.

DINNER:

28% carbs, 29% fat, 43% protein

612 calories

3 egg thin quesadillas with Daiya vegan cheese and pico de gallo.

2 medium zucchini with 3 chicken skewers plus NuPasta Spaghetti with marinara sauce!

SNACKS:

23% carbs, 58% fat, 18% protein

132 calories

Seaweed.

Raspberries.

Yesterday, I came out at 1,458 calories and 100g carbs (28%), 74g fat (47%), and 88g protein (25%).

I’m honestly always so surprised how much my calories add up! I can tell you that logging everything has been such a great exercise for me in terms of food honesty. I’m full by the end of the day with the amount of calories I’ve been eating. BUT I can tell you that when I was eating 2-3-4x more, there were times when I never felt full. Weird huh? I’m more mindful now, and I believe that makes a huge difference in my relationship with food.

I don’t use weights or equipment when working out, only water bottles or books which is pretty rare but I’m actually excited as well as curious, mostly, to see some changes 🙂

I’ve been tracking my food, too and find that it helps me differentiate between real hunger and just eating out of boredom when I have to be honest and track it.

It would be awesome to have like a month long workout program/challenge using weights, resistance bands or even sliders!!!

It’s funny how our relationship with food changes. I do intermittent fasting, and I always find that on the days when I skip it and eat something in the evening, that I wake up hungry the next day. Normally that’s not an issue for me, I don’t usually get hungry until 10am at least. I think it has to do with the way food spikes your insulin, and makes your body want more. Also, being tired makes you hungry! (< My current struggle of the day.)

Also, I would LOVE to see some workout videos with hand weights (that’s all I have.) 🙂

Omg so excited for equipment workouts! A program like PIIT 28 but for weightlifting would be an amazing idea. Whatever you come up with…. can’t wait!

  8. Yes yes yes to the vlog! I can’t wait to see it. Also, you came out with some bands and also the Pilates circle before, did you not? I would love to see some resistance band workouts 🙂 and stability balls.

How’s the bloat with the nupasta going?

    1. blogilates says:

It stays for a day but then it goes away!

I experienced a lot of bloating and gas today. I felt terrible. So uncomfortable. And what made it worse was that I had to be around a bunch of people. Horrible combination. Thankfully this doesn’t happen often to me but when it does, its the worst.
