Week 8 Weigh-In | 59 of 90

Hey guys!

Wow, the end of week 8 is here! CRAZINESS!!!

Let’s just get right into it.

First off, I was active every day of week 8! I danced 4 times this past week!

I love love LOVEEEE that my 12 week game plan page in my Fit Journal is getting even more filled up!!! My 90th day will be Wed November 13th!

Week 8 recap. Things I need to start? Start to sleep more. Need to seriously be better at this. I’m so bad. I’ve been saying this for weeks now and I am not doing it. But it’s super related to what I need to stop doing…STOP TAKING ON MORE PROJECTS. I need to chill out. ‘Cept I don’t know how. I feel like Sam needs to force me to go on a vacation and take my phone and computer away from me.

Oh but speaking of sleep – I just uploaded a new video with my fave bed time stretches!

Overall though, I felt great mood wise last week.

What am I excited for? I’m excited to share with you my first heels choreo hopefully in next Sunday’s YouTube video!

WEEK 8 WEIGH-IN:

I did not expect very much change this week since last week was so intense. My weight actually went up by 0.4 lbs HOWEVER body fat % decreased by 0.2% and muscle mass increased by 0.1%! Overall, things are moving along accordingly.

In order to hit my goals in the next 30 days, I need to lose about 1.45 lbs a week and about 0.58% body fat each week. I quite certain that I will not be able to hit my “athlete” body fat percentage of 20% in the next 30 days, given my trends over the past 8 weeks. I will need to give more time for that. The weight? Hmm, I don’t know if I can do 1.45 lbs each week…but we shall see! Again, these were goals I set for myself back in mid August to give me direction. If I hit them in this time frame, great. If I don’t, then I can keep going and give myself more time – which is probably what will happen!

Yesterday’s Recap:

BREAKFAST:

19% carbs, 64% fat, 17% protein

401 calories

4 quail eggs, 2 cauliflower flatbreads, and 1 mashed avocado!

LUNCH:

21% carbs, 61% fat, 18% protein

520 calories

“Beyond Beef” vegan meat (SO GOOD), over romaine lettuce with corn and pico de gallo. Chipotle honey vinaigrette dressing.

POST LUNCH SNACK:

50% carbs, 42% fat, 8% protein

461 calories

Strawberry Freeze from Pressed Juicery with almond butter, blueberries and strawberries. YUM.

Kombucha.

DINNER:

13% carbs, 60% fat, 27% protein

451 calories

Egg thin tacos with beyond beef, pico de gallo, corn and jalapeno sauce! You only see 4 here…BUT I ATE 8!!!! YUMMMMZERS. I couldn’t stop – it was so good!

Yesterday came in at 1,833 calories, 26% carbs (121g), 57% fat (117g), and 17% protein (78g). It was a totally vegetarian day which was cool. Interesting that my fat intake is still higher than my protein. All those avocados, egg yolks, dressings, and almond butters really add up!

Also, I STILL have not had a chance to truly sit down and read my blood test results in depth. I really need to do this soon. I feel like it’s the perfectionist in me that is keeping me from doing it. It’s like I am afraid I won’t have time to finish all the reading in one sitting so I am not doing it at all until I can find the perfect slot of time. I need to be ok with doing it in segments! I want to get through at least one report tomorrow!

Yes for giving yourself time, you’re not in a rush! Hitting your goals is (obviously) part of your journey but you’re not limited. And if you do hit your goals within your time frame, then it’s all good.
I would have eaten 8 too 😛 hehe

  2. As a fitness freak, i liked your diet chart. you had mentioned it in a systematic manner.

  3. I AM SO EXCITED FOR THE DANCE VIDEO THIS SUNDAY! I love dance and I love it when it’s sassy. W I think what’s admirable about you is that you are constantly inspired to do something. You have passion and purpose in your life and I want that in my life too instead of being driven by fear or should’s. Instead I want to be driven by motivation.

I like how I feel like you and I are friends when I read your stuff. It keeps me coming back for more. Best of luck. I hope you reach your goal but you are great what ever you do.

I’m on a journey as well. Not really counting calories but I am on whole 30 right now and am working out 3 days a week, aiming for 4-5. It’s hard!! I have to remember not to get discouraged. My body is feeling great with not having as much processed food and eating more vegetables. I love seeing your progress and discipline, very motivating and encouraging!

You’re doing great! Yeah, it’s really hard to continue to keep losing weight toward the end of the time. But your progress thus far has been AMAZING!!! Keep it up! That muscle mass is looking great!!

  7. Amy says:

I love your stretching videos! Thank you for uploading a new one. I feel like it’s easier for me to stick with my goals when my husband is on board too. Do you feel the same? If not, how do you stay on track when you’re in your own?

Hi Cassey, I totally recognize myself in postponing things ’till I have enough time to do them properly … I never considered myself a perfectionist but I might be … 🤔 You gave me food for thought. Thanks !

If you get the chance, you should check out The Game Changers documentary, produced by James Cameron, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Jackie Chan 🙂 it offer some interesting insights into plant-based diets for elite athletes.

Seeing your weigh-in results are so encouraging! It’s awesome to see what you can do when you set your mind to it! I too often use the excuse ‘my metabolism is slow/damaged/ruined’ when I don’t see results. To a certain extent, with a history of eating problems and fad diets, I do think it’s true. But I shouldn’t stop when I hit a plateau, I should step back, adjust my journey, and keep going. Just like you! I need to take back control of my body and my wellness! You inspire me to start my own fitness journey! Thank you Cassey!

I’ve been following your journey closely since I’ve set similar goals. (We also are about the same size and have similar workout routines, so it’s been interesting!) I am running into the same thing with the diet part – I don’t eat a ton of meat, but even making an effort to add that in, I constantly come in at about the same percentages as you! I NEVER am close to my protein goals (I use MyFitnessPal as well) but am way over in fat. I’ve been playing with it for weeks and following you closely, so if you figure out the secret, PLEASE share!

  12. OMG. You’re amazing. I was literally just thinking it would be phenomenal if Cassie could upload a heels choreo bc yesterday I was literally finding random choreo on Youtube and knew you could do it better 😉 (I think no one can top your energy and perfect mix of instructive yet challenging). SO HYPE!

    1. Aaaaand I know your name is Cassey. Sorry about that <3

I think one of the things I’m wondering is that I see you talk all the time about needing to slow down and take on less, but you don’t seem to be doing anything concrete about it? I don’t mean that harshly, but I don’t know how else to word it. I wonder if you need to do something other than wait for life to slow down. Maybe you need to choose something to stop doing now? Like…the halloween costumes (it’s not too late to just buy them)? Obviously, it’s your life, and I’m not trying to say that I know better than you what you should do. It’s just something I’m thinking about in my own life right now.

    1. blogilates says:

No, you’re not harsh. You’re right. It’s something I struggle with and I do need to do something concrete about it! The costume materials are already bought so I need to follow through with it!

  14. Dru says:

Does anyone know of there is a body fat % calculator out there? Also, sooo excited to see the heels choreo!

I am also currently battling (at this point WARRING) against doing too much/overachieving tendencies. It’s still very difficult to shift my self-worth from what I “do” to what I “am” but I think it will be worth it! I think women are so conditioned to try to do it all, but it seems like there’s a deeper level of freedom and fulfillment when we let obligation go and are motivated by the few and specific things we truly want – even if it seems selfish/lazy etc. I don’t have answers as to how to let go of the need to overdo it, but I just wanted to speak my piece and throw some love and support out there to others who might also feel bad about scaling back.

  16. Kori says:

I am SO EXCITED for a choreography video! I’ve always loved to watch other people dance, and never really felt okay enough about my body to try it myself. I think dancing at home would be a nice launchpad! Also, I’d never had Pressed Juicery, so when I stumbled upon one the other day I had to try a freeze. I had vanilla with blueberries, almonds, and raspberry puree….obsessed! This might be my new favorite. Thanks, Cassey! 😀

    1. blogilates says:

      RIGHT!!! Isn’t it SO GOOD!??

  17. Amilen says:

Keep going Cassie, you got this! Your videos and routines have helped me so much, I just had to comment and say thank you. 🙂

  18. Barb says:

What scale do you use to track everything? I’ve been looking for ages and can’t seem to find a reasonable one. That tracks BF and SMM.

  19. Gayatri says:

I love your commitment and passion. Please do a video /exercise routine for PCOS issues and exercise to help that. I would truly appreciate it.

  20. Towanda Wright Jones says:

I think the food journal is a great idea, I am with you 100. Going back to the ab challenge. You are so transparent with journey, I love it!!!!!

  21. robinli88 says:

I look forward to your posts every day. You might have lost some lukewarm followers, but you have gained a passionate supporter in me!!

  22. MO says:

Hey Cassey! I’m really happy for all that you’ve achieved in these 8 weeks. I never really incorporated physical activity into my routine before I started your beginner’s calendar back in August. Unfortunately didnt get to finish it since my finals started (yes, it’s a weird time for finals but I’m med student in Pakistan and that’s how it is) and I got super busy and stressed out. However, I do plan on starting it again once I’m done with my exams. Doing your stretches for now to help me de stress. 💆‍♀️

  23. Sabrina says:

Way to go, Cassey! You’re truly such an inspiration to all of us. I’ve been following you since I was fifteen (I’m twenty two now) and it’s amazing to watch you become stronger in so many ways! Do you think you could make a blog post at the end of your journey with your favorite meals and snacks from the past 90 days? I’ve been following along with some of the snacks, and you’ve definitely turned me on to the pistachios from Costco! So good! Love you so much! 🙂

    1. blogilates says:

      Those are DELISH!!
