Hitting new levels with my fitness | 45 of 90

Starting off today’s blog post with a post workout pic! Me after pretty much any dance class or Pilates session = PURE JOY

Honestly you guys, if you don’t feel joyous, happy, light, and lifted after your workout – don’t give up! Keep searching for “the one”. I promise it is out there. And much like human relationships, you need to explore! Date around. Figure out what you like and what you don’t like. And when you find that person or that workout that you finally fall in love with, just know that even then, there will be good days and bad days. But stick with it, and your love and your commitment will grow stronger!

Oh by the way that pic was shot on my new iPhone 11 Pro! Pretty good huh!!??? It’s basically DSLR quality!

Here’s bad timing between me and Sam, BUT look at that hair. It keeps growing!!! YASSS collagen YASSSS.

Oh and I wanted to show you that in my cardio dance class I burned more calories than in Barry’s Bootcamp or one of my Training Mate circuit training classes! Plus, my heart rate got up to 179 BPM! That is the highest I have EVER seen it go. Which means…that I am willing to push myself more in dance because I am having more fun. And you guys know how much I hate cardio. Proud of this. I wonder if I can get it to 180BPM? I might die. LOL.

Yesterday’s Recap:

Here’s my Fit Journal entry. Weight went down for the 2nd day in a row after food tracking. Let’s see if this still holds true tomorrow. But pretty exciting to see that the tracking is working as of right now!

BREAKFAST:

23% carbs, 77% fat, 0% protein

50 calories

I had MCT oil powder and BHBs in water.

LUNCH:

20% carbs, 46% fat, 34% protein

594 calories

I had one of the most amazing lunches I have ever made! I tried making lime flavored cauliflower rice for the first time and OMG it elevated – I mean ELEVATED my meal. I’ll give you my exact recipe tomorrow once I add in the cilantro.

I had the lime cauli rice with 2 chicken skewers, whole eggs with butter, pico de gallo, and guac.

I also tried making keto egg rolls! These are steamed cabbage leaves filled with ground beef.

EARLY DINNER:

21% carbs, 55% fat, 24% protein

714 calories

I wanted to get in an early dinner before I headed out to my deep tissue massage, so I quickly warmed up some leftovers: 2 of those keto egg rolls (dipped in creamy jalapeño sauce), some lime cauli rice, and ground turkey with bits of paleo sausage and chanterelle mushrooms.

I had some fresh organic strawberries as dessert! YUM. So happy to have fruit back in my life.

LATE DINNER:

20% carbs, 55% fat, 25% protein

498 calories

Since I still had calories “left over”, I decided to make more food for a late dinner. As of right now, I don’t know if it’s better to be in a deficit (will my body go into starvation mode and hold onto everything?) or to eat up to my allotted amount. However, eating my allotted amount probably isn’t helping at all when I am doing it at 10PM! Oh well!

First of all. You guys. These Nuco Coconut Wraps I bought at Whole Foods IS LIFFFEEEEEE. OMG, so good. I had ZERO expectations for this, but still, IT BLEW MY MIND. It tastes better than a regular tortilla!

I wanted to make a mini breakfast burrito, so inside I put some of my lime cauli rice, grilled chicken, avocado, and eggs with chives. I had this with pico de gallo.

Rolled it up (didn’t even have to warm the wrap) and then filled the rest of my plate with more of the inside ingredients.

When I took my first bite of that burrito, I died, went to heaven, and came back just to tell you HOW GOOD IT WAS. Like OHHHH EMMM GEEEE good. You need to go get these wraps.

Also – who else gets a high when they make a new food creation and it tastes so good that you be like “TIME TO OPEN A RESTAURANT!!!!”??? Seriously, if I made this for you, you wouldn’t need to eat anything else ever again. I cannot wait to have this again.

The day’s meals came in at 1,857 calories, 20% carbs, 53% fat and 27% protein.

I’m curious to see how my muscle definition will be affected given that fat is my highest macro, not protein. We shall see! But so far, feeling full and happy!

Wow, thank you for sharing this workout routine as well as your food diet. I am an inactive person. I am seldom workout. I’m too lazy to do so. But reading your blogs, I feel so motivated. Great!

    Hey Cassey,
I love your posts and have been doing your workouts for 5 years now but please stop spreading fitness myths like “starvation mode”. There is no scientific data to support the idea that something like this exists. If you are in a calorie deficit then you will lose weight. Of course it will most definitely fluctuate depending on the other factors as it is never linear. But in general these are the rules. If you think that you are in a caloric deficit and you’re not losing weight for a long time then you’re probably consuming more calories than you estimate. Sorry for this example but if “starvation mode” existed people with anorexia wouldn’t have cachexia and unfortunatelly they often are cachexic when illness lasts for a long time.
So loving your journey but please try to be actually more scientific about this because people listen to you and follow your footsteps.
I am not trying to be mean and please don’t be offended by this comment but I am medicine student and when I see that someone is propagating this kind of untrue information, it just really bugs me.

    Love,
    Zuzia

There’s quite a lot of science to support metabolic slow-down as the result of malnourishment across a variety of fields. I’d recommend American Journal of Medicine articles to learn more more about how this impacts humans in the modern era.

Damn, you look so good on that first pic! I don’t look that pretty after a cardio (dance) workout. If you hadn’t tell us about the collagen you take, I actually would’ve thought you had extensions. Well, do you have extensions?!? You hair is so freakin’ long wow!!!
I know that that diet works for you which is a good thing but I’m genuinely curious as to how you find energy without getting much carbs? Since they’re pretty essential. Again, I am in no way judging, just asking. I really want to try the meals above, though! These coconut wraps seem like a great alternative. I find it hard to find GF tortillas that also don’t have sh*t in them like oils or other unnecessary ingredients in them! Haha you’re not alone on that restaurant thing; when it happens I’m like “hell yeah, I’m a chef, hello!!!”

    1. blogilates says:

No extensions!!! Bt my goal is to grow my hair even longer! Down to my waist. And glad I’m not the only one on the restaurant thing!!! Oh and I have energy. Tons. Works for me. But everyone is diff!

  4. Lisa says:

Haha funny, I also think “i should open a restaurant” when i get creative and do a perfect receipe.

Any YouTube dance cardio videos you would suggest?

      Fitness Marshall has great ones!

Cassey!!! Thank you so much for this post. You are so inspiring and I love how you continue to strive toward new fitness goals and continue to reach them! I’m a fairly new follower of yours, starting my own health and fitness journey and I already know you are going to be a big part of my support system and inspo. Also, I definitely need to try those wraps…….like, now. 😉 Love you, and good luck to both of us as we rock this week!!!

  7. I need a new phone! Mine is slow and dying. Also, did that dance workout feel harder than Barry’s boot camp?

You go, girl!! This is such an amazing journey and I have been with you since the beginning. I even have started Keto. I love you so much and thank you for all you do. But seeing you count calories made me think of this article and video, that you could maybe check out. https://www.dietdoctor.com/low-carb/calories
The website this is from is a website run by doctors on the Keto diet, and they give really good advice, so you can look up questions and watch videos about it. They also have visual guides for what is and isn’t for the keto.
    Love and prayers!

    1. Bee05 says:

Also, I support you in all of this and it’s amazing you are so happy!!!

Reading your blog posts every day is actually very motivating. I wish you could blog every day but I know that isn’t realistic.

    1. blogilates says:

LOL I AM blogging every day. There has been only 1 day where I combined 2 days, but otherwise, I haven’t missed a beat!

      1. rasheedawilson says:

I meant outside of the 90 day journey 😂

  10. stels.kal says:

Your 90 days journey inspired me to start my own 90 days journey. For the past two weeks I’ve been eating healthy, balanced and fulfilling meals, dancing 6h/week and doing PIIT28 and I’ve never felt better and more accomplished! I can’t wait to see the results at the end and also continue with this healthy lifestyle. Thank you so much for inspiring me to make that change in my life!

P.s. In Greece we call these keto rolls “lahanontolmas” (λαχανοντολμάς)! We put rice in them along with the ground beef and dip them in greek yoghurt! It’s delicious!

Oh, Cassey. I love you, but there is no such thing as “starvation mode.” Please do some research on why this isn’t true so your followers don’t start believing it as well. You’re eating too many calories. You don’t need to use “leftover calories,” especially not at 10pm. Eating so late isn’t good for your digestion OR your waistline. You have to be in a calorie deficit to lose weight. You’re not going to get that deficit if you’re eating back the calories you burn.
“Starvation mode” is bullsh!t. Your body won’t “hold on” to everything if you’re in a 500 calorie a day deficit. You will simply lose weight slowly, like you wanted to in the first place. You know CICO works. You leaned down for your bikini competition, so you know it can be done. You don’t have to go as low as you did then, and you don’t have to starve yourself, but 1500 solid, satisfying calories a day with an hour workout is fine. You don’t need to “use leftover calories.” That’s kind of ridiculous, especially for someone in the fitness industry. You’re very lovely, but I think you need to do some research so you can hit your goals.

    1. blogilates says:

Thanks for your comment. Actually in MyFitnessPal, I set the calculator to put me at a deficit for -1.5 lbs a week and 1310 was my goal calorie intake if I did zero movement. In order to maintain my current weight my caloric intake needs to be 2070 if I did zero movement. So as you can see, there is already a caloric deficit baked into my numbers. So when I work out, I will go below my recommended 1310 caloric intake.

      1. Laura says:

Yes, please don’t go to 1500 calories! Your calorie numbers look good, Cassie 🙂
When you’ve finished your 90 days/think it’s time to come off keto I really recommend trying whole food plant based, it’s very healthy and you get to eat huge portions (this is a plus for me!) 🙂

    2. Nnewiam says:

Thank you for that 🙂 Starvation mode does not exist, and your comment is perfect, it says everything.

  12. ok I’M OFFICIALLY INSPIRED! THANK YOU FOR POSTING, AS USUAL 🙂

    1. blogilates says:

      You are so welcome!
