Be Kind, Show Love, Fight Evil

Hey POPsters,

By now you’ve probably heard about the horrendous slaughter of young students yesterday in Newtown, CT. I can’t even begin to express my confused, upset, and sad thoughts about why someone could be so evil. That is always the question after something like this happens…but all that can be done now is to prevent any future similar occurrences from happening.

I’m sending my warmest and most positive energy out to the families who were affected by the shooting 🙁

What can we do now besides sit here and mourn? Give from your oveflowing cup. Listen to those who need you. Be a genuinely good friend. Be kind. Love all.

I truly believe that is how you fight evil and prevent tragedy. I can’t speak for anyone else but I really believe that the more we show honest appreciation for one another, the better we can make our lives together.

How do you feel and how do you think we can prevent violence like this from happening? Feel free to share your thoughts here and support each other.

Also, in case you didn’t see, here is  a new video for you to warm up to when you need to get in the groove of working out but starting out with 50 burpees just aint happenin’:

Have a wonderful day and go tell someone you love them and give them a hug.

Love,

Cassey

I think we can prevent violence by being open minded, not judgmental and putting ourselves in the other person’s shoes.
We are all only human ; we all want love, respect and to feel special.

It’s so sad and I agree with you Cassey.

About your cardio workouts, do I have to wear shoes when I do them? I usually just do them bare-foot on tiled floor =P but I don’t want to hurt my feet. Any advice? What type of shoes would you recommend getting for your cardio workouts and for running as well?

    Thank you!! <3

It is very sad to hear that someone could kill those kids.=( I’ll be praying for those poor parents who lost their kids and other family members who also lost such dear people. And hopefully those kids and adults are in God’s loving arms in heaven right now.=)

Hey Cassey,I love your workouts! They are fun but hard.LOL Could you make some more warmup workouts and stretching videos?=) Thanks

    I agree Cassey!
It’s very important to listen and be kind to one another. My mother has always taught me that growing up.
There is also a Buddha saying that says, ” Treat others the way you would want to be treated.” <=== couldn't agree more.

    1. keely says:

      @Sayaka,
“And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.” Luke 6:31 KJB(&Matthew 7:12)
Buddha isn’t the only one who said this. I think the earliest saying like that came from Judaism.

I actually feel so sad for the kids…but for the guy who killed them too… i heard he was autistic. But still, his mother told him how to use a gun. What was she thinking? And autistic people don’t have a sens of reality, they are cur out of the world, so what happened to him that was so bad that he taught he had to do something like that? He had to feel so bad 🙁 but still, what he did is unforgivable :'(

    * ps: I visited you site for that reason but had to say something about you article : do you have any recipes for christmas that are good desserts but without a lot of sugar, butter and so on? Thanks ❤”

chocolatecoveredkatie.com She has tons of good, healthy, vegan dessert recipes!

    2. Abelle says:

Not all people with Autism deal with it to the same degree, and most people who have it don’t lack a “sense of reality”, as you put it. In general, people with mental illnesses or personality disorders are FAR more likely to be the victims of violent crimes instead of the perpetrators. That being said, it seems a bit unfair for people to be placing any blame on the shooter’s mother for whatever she may or may not have done, especially since she’s not able to defend herself and no one has yet confirmed the severity of the shooter’s personality disorder/mental illness, if he legitimately had one at all.

I do agree, though, that it’s absolutely a shame that he wasn’t able to get whatever help he needed, for whatever reason. I can’t imagine what could drive a person to do such a thing, and we may not ever even know. It’s just heartbreaking all around.

Cassey, even though I wasn’t personally affected with this disaster in CT, I’m really glad that you posted this. It made me happy and touched my heart knowing there are also good people out there too. Thank you <3

I’m very glad you addressed the tragedy on your website. I agree that the only way to fight evil is with goodness and love. Evil is here in this world, sadly. The only way to move on is to really push kindness starting now! I hope everyone will perform one random act of kindness today,it’s the least we can do.

  9. Marcy says:

I feel the exact same way about what happened but everyone else is telling not to get angry at the people who do evil things. Well how else am i supposed to feel? But I was also touched when you said “Listen to those who need you. Be a genuinely good friend. Be kind. Love all.” Because when i lost my home during hurricane Katrina no one listened to me and I needed a friend, but all i got were negative comments, but that and this tragedy will make me listen to those who need a listening ear.
