Hey guys!

Happy Monday!! How was your weekend? Can you believe that there’s only like 11 more days til Spring!?? It’s nuts. I bought some flowers from Trader Joes to give the house a nice springy feel!

flowers

Anyway…here is your new Monday video! It’s time to work your abs in only 5 min! I added this cute pink timer onto the video and I REALLY do hope you like it. Normally, I wouldn’t complain about editing or anything…but seriously…it took me more than 2 hours to figure out how to make that darn timer work! I was so determined. I really was about to give up when I pressed random buttons and the clock started ticking. So moral of the story – NEVER GIVE UP! Right when you’re about to, that’s when the miracle happens 🙂

So…here are your moves! Do 1 min each back to back for an extreme, quick burn!

1. Leg Up Crunches

2. Double Leg Lifts

3. Criss-Crosses

4. Reverse Crunches

5. Single Leg Jackknives

hot body year round

You get four of them – one for every season! There’s also a TON of brand new and super yummy recipes in the book that are not on this blog. There are def vegetarian and vegan options as well 🙂

Oh and if you pre-ordered the book already, please do not forget to fill out the form on hotbodybook.com. That is how I will know to send you an exclusive tote bag! Only pre-ordered books get bags, so try the get the book now if you can. Plus, it’s actually discounted on Amazon right now! And if you’re deciding between real physical book or an ebook version, get the real one. It’s full color, glossy, and really fun to look at and more practical to use in real life version.

Gotta get back to making some smoothies. I made 4 new smoothie recipes for you guys and I will release them either tomorrow or Wed! They TASTE AMAZING!!!!!

    Hi Cassey!
I was wondering how often would you recommend to do this workout and when can I expect results?

    Thanks,

    Ayesha

  2. Mary Fiore says:

Congratulations on your book, Cassey!!! 🙂 I’m so excited to have pre-ordered it and can’t wait to see it! I’m really happy and thankful you included lots of recipes for vegetarians! Plus I am super excited for the bag too! 🙂

hi, maybe its the language barrier, but when you say in your book 1 cup cooked oatmeal, does that mean 1 cup of oats cooked in water or 1 cup of already cooked-in-water-oats? 🙂

    1. Tpostema says:

take one cup of oatmeal (thats raw) then cook it

  4. Charly says:

Hi Cassey. I really want to order your book. Are there a lot of gluten free options or easy swaps that could be made?
    Thanks!

    Hey,

I am so stoked to have found your website. It’s the best place on the Internet for exercise and health. I just started pilates 2 weeks ago and I love it. I am excited to get your DVD so I can supplement that into my workout routine. Thanks for being so wonderful and creative. It’s makes my day! ♡

    Hiya!
I’ve loved your workouts for ages, but I just had to let you know clearly I’m not the only fan! In the latest uk edition of InStyle magazine, Daisy Lowe mentions blogilates.com as her choice of mobile tutorial website when she’s out and about! Just thought I’d let you know!
    Keep up the fantastic work!

Hi, i am a 15 years old girl, and i want to lose some weight before summer starts, so i want to ask you if you could do a simple meal plan for teens, because i not sure if i can follow the others meal plan ?

Great workout Cassey!! I love your videos. Obrigada ( is thanks in portuguese).

Hey Cassey, I decided to order a physical book exactly because it seems to be very colorfull and to hold the book in the hand is still better feeling then swiping it on the screen.
One question: couple mothns ago I’ve got some weird knee issue, so I can’t keep my leg completely straight and perform cardio sesh. Do you habe any advice for me? Cardio which doesn’t involve knees…
    Thanks in advance.

Hey Cassey, I tried following your obliques/muffin top workouts. But when I try to do the side plank lift (where I’m propped up on my palm/arm), I feel as though my arms are being worked instead of my obliques. It’s like my entire arm is supporting my body weight. Can’t really feel my sides aching or anything. Am I doing this wrongly?

    Hi Cassey! I did your 5 min abs and the new thigh slimming workout yesterday. When I got to work this morning I did the ab routine again and boy are my abs sore. I am not new to working out. I do some sort of cardio and yoga every day. I will admit I have been a subscriber to your posts for a while but always scared myself off from doing them. Not anymore!! They are tough, but doable with a modification or two for this beginner 🙂 Since life is so hectic, I also love they are short. I love the burn and I know it is a sign of results showing soon! You are awesome!! Keep them coming (;

    Thank you so much!
    Donella

    Hi Cassey!!
I have preordered your book, can’t wait to get it! I am an ebook reader, but I have preferred the paper version because, just you say, it’s more practical, even if it would be nice to get both the copies, one to be carried always with me…I’ll think about it. It would have been nice for those who purchased the paper version to get also an ebook code 😛

    Have a good day!!!

  12. Rebekah K says:

So I just started working out to your videos… I am a beginner… Just had a baby almost 5 months ago.. And I’m ready to loose this baby weight, it’s not coming off as quick as I had hoped.
Where/what videos should I start with first?
The ones that I have been using has been the “Pop Pilates for beginners” how many times should I repeat the videos since there only like 13 min long?

  13. Ivana says:

    Great post! 🙂

I’m new blogger. I’d be happy if you would check out my blog! 🙂

  19. Rosemary says:

    Hi Cassey!
I’m going to a comic book convention next month and when I finally finished my costume a week ago, I found out that *GASP* my pants don’t fit anymore!! A friend that’s going to the convention too told me about your website and YouTube page, and I’m totally impressed.

I’m doing the 30 day thigh slimming challenge and your Clarity thigh workout every day. I’m also eating much healthier than I ever have before: whole wheat bread instead of white, no added sugar (cuts out all the sweet tea we love in the South) and tons of water (ten glasses a day). Plus, I bike around my neighborhood 30 minutes a day and am naturally an everyday active person.

This is only my sixth day of consciously trying to lose weight and I put those pants back on… They FIT now! But that definitely doesn’t mean I’m giving up. I plan to keep up these new healthy habits. Thank you SO MUCH for inspiring me, Cassey! <3

    1. Michela says:

ciao Caterina! Io lo ho preordinato su amazon.it. Non è in offerta come quello su amazon.com purtroppo ( 11 dollari, accidenti!! contro i nostri 16 euro) .ciao!!

      1. Michela says:

Caterina, you can easily get both the ebook and paper versions at amazon.it.

  21. Madeline says:

Love this new work out! Cassey, I have a question about doing your workouts properly. I love doing them, already seeing results, but whenever I do ab work with my legs lifted and then pushing them down with abs, I tilt my lower back from the mat. It’s as if as soon I lower my legs, my hips tilt and my lower back comes off the ground. Supporting my lower back/tailbone with my hands seems to make it worse rather than better. The only way to prevent this is by barely lowering them, but that’s annoying since I’m able to get them right above the ground. Is there anything I can do about this? I tried googling but can’t find any real useful tips 🙁

    1. Crystal says:

You should lower the legs down only to the point where you can keep your back pressed to the mat. The lower back should always be pressed down, never arching off the mat.

      1. Thank you for your response Crystal 🙂 Also if that means I can barely lower them? Not even half way. I feel like that’s so much less effective… Will try tonight though!

        1. Janne says:

Do you lift your head and shoulders? i find that it helps with keeping my back on the mat.

  22. Maria says:

Love the timer, Cassey! =) Happy (almost) Spring!

  23. Cassie says:

Ahhhhh so excited for the book Cassey!

  24. Aja says:

Only 11 days until Spring?! That is awesome! I am so excited for your book! I’ve been following you since that first video so it’s been super exciting to watch all your dreams come true.

    1. blogilates says:

  25. Tete says:

Thanks for the sneak peak Cassey! I am so looking forward to the book; I bought it several weeks ago 😉 Have a great day eveyone

  26. Krystal says:

Just ordered the book! Can’t wait to try the recipes; already hooked on the blueberry bonanza protein shake. Thank you so much Cassey for making me excited about working out again. I was really falling into a rut for a while with my workout routine to the point where I stopped working out! Thankfully I stumbled on to your videos on You Tube and I’m now back on track. You rock, keep up the inspiring work and thank you again!! <3

  27. Sarah says:

    Hi Cassey!

Can you do a post on the importance of rest and proper conditioning? Since we’re approaching spring, it’s tempting to overdo it in our enthusiasm and there are a lot of overuse injuries can be avoided, especially with hips and knees.

    Thanks!
    Sarah

  28. I’m excited for your new book, Cassey! I just did your 5 minute routine yesterday.

Do you ever take an entire period off of fitness to rest, Cassey? Do you still make it an active rest period?

  29. asha says:

Buying the book tomorrow along with your new DVD and some matcha green tea powder!

  30. Great post Cassey! I love this 5 min abs routine, we have a yoga room at work that I use for quick ab routines and I am going to incorporate this one for sure! I have been struggling with video for my blog too, SUCH a learning curve, but it looks great 🙂
