Hey you guys!

First off, I wanna say THANK YOU to everyone who left kind words on this almost 30 min vlog I uploaded to YouTube!

I was scared that there was going to be major backlash, so I prepared my mind for it. To my surprise however, I didn’t see any of the kind of hate I was receiving on my day 1 announcement. So weird, huh? Where did the haters go???

It was sooooo lovely to read all of your comments saying how much you were proud of me and how much my journey inspired you to start your own! This wasn’t my intention, but I am so happy that my personal journey has fired something up inside of you.

If any of you are about to embark on your own 90 day journey, make sure you grab a copy of my 12 Week Fit Journal! Great news is, the POPFLEX BLACK FRIDAY SALE is happening right now and the ENTIRE STORE is 40% OFF! AHHHHHHHHH!!!! (Minus the 2020 Planner stationery) Just use code “GIMME40” at popflexactive.com and throw in a yoga mat or two while you’re at it :P

Alright, now I wanna do a lil weekend recap because seriously this weekend was one of the most relaxing and therapeutic weekends I’ve had in a LOOOONGGGGG time. I got a deep tissue massage, I bought fresh flowers, went shopping for stockings and dog clothes, made myself some matcha oat milk tea, cleaned, baked, and prepped the house for Thanksgiving. Okay, okay I know that doesn’t sound traditionally relaxing – but any time I get to do things that are NOT work, it’s relaxing :)

Oh and I got this new fuzzy hoodie and shorts set that are my current FAVE. Absolute perfection with my matcha, my avo socks, Sir George in a cable knit sweater, and reading your comments on YouTube. Your words made me smile the whole time.

A cart full of flowers at Trader Joes right after the gym.

DREAM.

Have I ever told you that my ideal morning is working out, then groceries at a farmer’s market or Trader Joes/Whole Foods and then cooking breakfast for me and Sam? I did that. And I LOVED every single second of it. Best part was – Sam went to weight lift with me too! :)

As soon as we got home from Trader Joe’s, I was inspired to make this boba shop level drink for Sam! I’ve been trying to make healthier swaps for him that don’t taste like substitutions. If Sam approves, then I know it will taste good for the masses. Sometimes my weird creations are like “healthy people good” but not “normal people good” if you know what I mean! The bottom is strawberry preserves, the middle is oat milk, and the top is matcha. Sam actually said it tasted like the REAL THING!!!! VICTORY!!!!!

Since Thanksgiving is this Thursday, and we also have a Blogifam Friendsgiving on Wednesday, I needed to test out some pumpkin pie recipes to ensure “fool proofness”.

I tried making a vegan crustless pumpkin pie. Started out all good, but then…

UHHHHHHHHH

WHAT. HAPPENED.

Literally no idea!!!! It was such a disaster. This is why I don’t normally bake! I am more of a sautéer and a boiler!

And the worst part was, it didn’t even taste good. It was so salty! So I took the warm pumpkin pie filling and mixed it in with cream cheese to make a frosting for a cupcake I will try baking later on. That tasted much better. Will keep ya posted on what happens to this.

Finally, I know we’re in the thick of Fall, but I had to slip on a new bikini and appreciate how hard my body has been working! So here’s a shameless cheetah print bikini mirror selfie.

CUZ WHY NOT. (Hi George)

“So weird, huh? Where did the haters go???”

Er…. They unsubscribed, like they said they were going to???? That’s not really weird.

Pumpkin pie frosting sounds awesome. Definitely will have to try that at some point. Hope you had a pleasant Thanksgiving.

Now I want to do some scientific experimentation of my own. Way to go, Cassie!

  • Pink says:

Thank you so much for sharing! I think I will follow this routine, sounds so great. And btw, you looked great on that bikini Selfie. Where I live it’s already freezing! Tysm

  • Aline says:

How do you make your matcha drink? I’ve been dying to try some.

  • Ruth Novales says:

Yes! I can totally relate with what you said about creations that are “healthy people good” but not “normal people good”! My daughters would look like they’re in a torture chamber when I give them my what for them are weird concoctions! Hahahaha!
Like you, I’m more of a sauteer. I leave the baking to my youngest daughter! Shes a whiz at it especially with the gluten free stuff. I did see your successful pumpkin pie in your IG stories. That looked really sumptuous!

  • Charley Diaz says:

What do you add to keep matcha from tasting so strong?

    • blogilates says:

You could always balance it with a sugar like honey, maple syrup etc. I used monk fruit sweetener. It’s 0 cals.

    Happy early Thanksgiving Cassey!
It’s incredible how much more confident and happy you’ve become since shedding off the weight. I can tell through your outfit choices and facial expressions! I think although there are several internal factors that contributed to the change in your happiness/confidence level, I don’t think they’d be as rewarding for you if you didn’t lose the weight. I think you look much better! And plus now people wouldn’t say that you don’t look fit enough to be a fitness instructor because you do! I don’t think there is anything wrong with letting your weight contribute to your happiness/confidence. Surely, there are much more important things in life that make us happy, but I think weight is definitely a big factor for some people. I mean you set a goal to lose weight, and you were happy to exceed your weight loss goal. As for your previous diet when you were on a strict diet and working out heavily, I think it only made you miserable because you were so restricted with your food options. Although you only weigh 5 lbs more than your record low, you are eating healthy foods that you enjoy, experimenting with ingredients, and having fun cooking! People set goals because they want a change. That’s not to say that you “hated” your body”, you liked your body, just not enough to keep it at that stage. It’s like when people want to make a lifestyle change, it’s not that they hate their current lifestyle, but they “dislike” it to a point where they’d like to improve it. And that is why you feel more confident now, because you like the way your body looks now! And because you look good, you feel good. So even if you didn’t like the way your body looked that much before, and if your weight contributes to your happiness, it’s totally fine!

  • I love how you turn disaster into gold! Also, the new bikini looks amazing on you.

Why does Sir George wear the german flag?? Anyway, it’s so good to hear from you after the end of the 90 day journey because I was afraid the blogging was coming to an end. And I totally relate to you on this one – shopping, cleaning, baking, working out, all of this is a treat for my soul as well. Good to see it’s not just me. I guess it’s being active and productive while taking care of your loved ones and your surroundings and without having to think about anything work or study related! So good!
However, I would really like to know what exactly you’ve been doing with your midsection in the last few weeks because it looks damn good and I want to do it as well! Can you maybe make a video or blog post about it?

    • blogilates says:

OMG WHAT! It’s the German flag!? No idea – I just bought it because it was cute lol. Yes I can talk more about belly stuff later on. I’m still trying to understand it.

  • Jasmin says:

Cassey, you are such an inspiration! Your journey inspired me to do my own 90-day challenge :-) I will live vegan for 90 days and do yoga and meditate every day.

Need more deets on that matcha drink recipe. Is it just dropping the ingredients in the jar 1 by 1? It’s good to hear you enjoying your life as you see fit to!

Ah, you look amazing! I did not understand the backlash at all in regards to your 90 day journey.
I love that you tasted the baking explosions even after they melted everywhere

  • Melanie says:

Oh my. What happened to the baking experience in the end? Did you manage to nail it?

  • Ela says:

Hi Cassey, you look amazing. I love your fitness videos have been doing them for over three years now. 😊

  • Luna says:

You look phenomenal!!! I’m so happy for you, tears of joyyyy 😭😭😭 You’ve been my favorite pilates instructor since I was 15, I’m 25 now and seeing your 90 day journey has inspired me so much, but the most important thing I’ve taken from it is that it is absolutely okay to want your body to look and feel however you want it to look and feel. I’ve always been naturally underweight but within the past year I’ve been able to gain weight and be at a somewhat “healthy” range, but what I’ve discovered is that now I’m really scared to continue doing the things I love: anything exercise related, because I’m paranoid about losing all the weight I worked so hard to gain and going back to looking like a “toothpick”. I’ve been conditioned my whole life to believe that my body and frame is ugly because of how “stick thin” I am. I’ve gotten accused of intentionally not eating in order to stay thin, I’ve been asked numerous times if I eat anything and whether I am sick, and I’ve always received rude and hurtful comments over my figure. The thing is, I’ve never once felt sick or unhealthily thin and I’ve never had an unhealthy relationship with food and exercise. I’ve always felt good, physically speaking, but I allowed other people’s criticism about my body to negatively impact my self esteem and body image. So now I’d also like to go on my own 90 day journey, to get my body where I WANT IT TO BE. Yes, I absolutely want to maintain my weight but I want to it to be healthy weight gain instead of just fat. I no longer want to let myself feel so much shame for having a genetically smaller figure and if I want to be toned, fit, and put on muscle then there’s nothing wrong with that no matter if I end up losing the weight I’ve gained or maintain it. There is so much stigma around thin people wanting to work out and take care of their body, that they “shouldn’t” or that they “don’t need to”. My body is not meant to look and feel desirable for anyone else other than myself.

    • Brittany says:

I had a similar experience when I first began working out about 10 years ago. Before that it was just gym class in school. I felt really good about myself and I had people telling me my face was too think, and a family member even called me Skeletor. It was really disheartening. I feel like now I’ve made eating so emotional and it’s been really hard to pull back from overeating/snacking. But Jaclyns journey has made me feel a spark of hope again to just do something for me, that I’m comfortable with, other people’s opinions be damned.

  • Heather S Baisley says:

That hoodie/shorts combo looks sooo cozy! I’m glad you got to relax a bit.

  • Camille13 says:

Loving the bikini and that fact that you’re rocking it! 💪 Btw, could we have an official house tour at some point? I feel like this has been promised in past videos and I’d LOVE to see the decorating 😁 Thank you for being an inspiration ❤️
