Photoshoot!!!

Photoshoot!!!

Yesterday I had a SUPER LONG 6 hr photoshoot. I am pooped!!!!! But I had to do it for 2 reasons. #1. It’s not easy to be “this lean” aka competition ready lean all the time so gotta capture it while it’s good. And #2. I am taking pics for FITNESS Mag! They need a few shots of me doing my fitness thang for their July/August issue featuring all sorts of bloggers. I have to rep what “healthy living blogger” means. I think I was able to portray that in the pic below!

(By the way, these are just iPhone pictures – I took pics of my photographer’s screen so it’s not the best quality but you get the idea!) Anyway, I looooove how the concept of this shot played out. It’s pretty much the story of my life.

So obvi I also needed an Oxygen shot!!!! DUH. Hahhahahaha.

And a bikini model shot! DURRRR. I got the earrings and bikini from Forever 21 on Friday. I love love love peacock right now. Can you tell that my earrings are actually peacock too?

I had to get tanned the day before. My palms are orange from using self tanner but you can’t see that thank goodness!!! My mom did my hair. It’s just teasing, no extensions. And I did my own makeup! This will save a TON of $ come Saturday for the bikini comp. I am happy we had a test drive.

There are TONS more pics. I will post when they are sent to me so you can browse thru the gallery. Oh, I should make a gallery page!!!! Good idea.

I am sooooo super duper excited about competing on May 5th!!!! I haven’t been this lean with this much muscle, well, EVER. So I am so pumped!!!!! The whole experience has been extremely rewarding and I feel like I won already!

Later today I will have the Brokenhearted Ab Challenge up for you to try! It’s gonna be fun I promise 🙂

OK tired. Much love and ttyl,

Cassey

  1. Hi Cassey!
I’ve always wanted to meet you, and when I saw you and bubzbeauty on a photo doing Pilates together, I was inspired.

Thanks for helping me a lot!

  2. You recognize therefore considerably on the subject of this matter, made me personally consider it from a lot of various angles. Its like men and women aren’t interested until it’s something to do with Lady gaga! Your individual stuffs nice. At all times take care of it up!

  3. Hi Cassey!
I love, love, love your videos. You are my favorite fitness instructor by far. Since I do you youtube video series together with my vegan diet I feel fabulous. You look great!

You should wear the peacock bathing suit to the competition, it’s such an interesting (and pretty, duh) bathing suit! That first shot of you is so pretty, I like your hair to the side.
Congrats on the Fitness feature, I’ll definitely be picking it up! 🙂

Cassey how long were u training with your personal trainer? Like 8 weeks? Your results are amazing and so quick! I want to get as fit and toned as you with a personal trainer in such a short time!

    Hi Cass,

I really love your blog, its amazing, gives me inspiration every day:) I LOVE your passion however please stay as you are and dont become “pink, photoshopped” fitness instructor! never:)

    promise?

  7. Julie says:

Your arms look great in the Oxygen picture!

  8. lili says:

Casey you will be bikini model of the world!!!

  9. Janine says:

You have a great natural face expression on all pictures but I would recommend to use the first or third picture. The second one needs to get a little photoshopped. Your right arm there looks greasy/dark and a little male-ish because the weights were heavy, right? If you let the picture like this, there is maybe too much focus on this arm?
Anyway, this is just my opinion!

But you can really tell the difference in your body shape compared to older pictures. Nice work!

Please keep us all updated how you go on after the competition, e.g. how you prevent a fast fat gain. Aren’t you afraid you get a wrong body image of yourself after the competition? If somebody earns a price for having a low body fat % –> what happens to this person afterwards? Maybe eating disorders like anorexia?

I hope you can deal really well with the impacts this competition has on your life!

Can you post the worlds best healthy icecream (with just one ingredient) recipe for all POPsters in a post after your competition (I am sure you don’t eat any carbs right now – not even bananas) http://www.chantalrouthierphotography.com/blog/2012/1/26/the-worlds-healthiest-ice-cream.html

    Thx

  12. Victoria says:

Hey Cassey ! You look absolutely stunning in these photos! 🙂 I was wondering if you can help me out? In the second picture of you, in the pink, your thighs look so slim! I was wondering what i could do to achieve that! I feel as if i’m too “wide”. If you know what i mean? my thighs stick out t0o much! I really want a slim lean figure! Any tips? Would fat loss around my thigh slim my butt as well? cause thats also a “wide” trouble area i have! Thanks for everything! 🙂 Good Luck!

  13. Courtney says:

Cassey, how many times a day must I do the “thigh gapper” exercise to keep up with yours??? Gah, I’m jealous! You look great!

  14. Carolyn says:

Wow! I’ve said it before, and I will say it again: Beee-yoo-tiful! =D Great work, Cassey. I know you worked hard for this, and you are a wonderful inspiration. I am so excited to hear about the competition!

Also, to everyone calling this whole thing “eating disordered”:
It’s not! It’s a competition cutting diet, and (I don’t think) Cassey plans to eat this way for the rest of her life. Cassey, I know you can stick up for yourself, but it can’t be easy when multiple people are accusing you of something that clearly isn’t true.

  15. Cinta says:

You look stunning! You are an inspiration to me and many others. THANK YOU for your inspiration and showing me that hard work DOES pay off 🙂

  16. Tracey says:

I commented on facebook about your shoulder transformation but Dang guuurrrlll! Your delt’s are amazing! This whole experience for you..and letting us tag along for the ride.. is AWESOME! 24. Sarah says:

Great pictures Cassey! Can’t wait to see more. You look absolutely stunning. And I love that peacock combo! Reminds me of the Katy Perry song haha ^^

  25. / says:

Casey, you look so FIT. What a transformation, in such a short time. You can really tell that you have seriously worked your butt off for these results and not only that, but have achieved them in such a healthy way.

I really don’t see anything ED related about what she is achieving, as she has stated many, many times in many different posts that nothing that she says/does is at all in anyway related to ED, though some people still tend to take it that way (and I’m really confused as to why). I know that I have very much struggled with ED and still do, and only find coming on here and seeing what Casey is achieving so inspiring, and it makes me WANT to eat and to be healthy. You absolutely could not achieve these results without fuelling your body, even her diet plan doesn’t seem to be ED to me at all. Yes, it seems like a little less food than say the 90 day challenge, but it is still all whole food, good food and CLEAN food… not starving. Should everyone take Casey’s diet plan and use it exactly for themselves? Probably not (and especially not forever). Everyone’s body is different. But this plan is supported by a trainer, is well thought up and is full of nutrients/good calories.

I’m also totally not trying to disagree/be rude with anyone’s comments, I just really hate when people talk about eating disorders and such on her posts because that is not at all what she is condemning. But mabye it’s just a touchy subject for me … 🙂

Anyway! I think you look amazing and your transformation is really inspiring!

    1. blogilates says:

Thanks em! i guess i need to address this topic again! but yeah, you got it – super clean is all it is.

  28. suzy says:

Cassey, you look amazing!!! Love love love the hair (style and colour). Your skin looks soooo radiant too. Good luck for the competition!!! You’re such an inspiration and I love the fact that you’re so positive !

    1. blogilates says:

GOTTA stay positive! no other way to live.

  29. Sarah says:

You are so beautiful. And I aspire to have a body like yours–one that is long and lean, but strong.

  30. Michele says:

WOWWW Cassey, you look so awesome!!!! You should be proud!!

  31. Livia says:

OMG!! I love to see this pictures!!The change is amazing and so gorgeous!! When I read about the bodybuilding thing I thought “oh no she will look like a man “…. but you are showing that muscles and girls can be together!!!…Thanks Cassey…

    1. blogilates says:

haha no worries, i like looking like a girl

  32. SARAH says:

you are gorgeous! You should definitely be on oxygen too!

  33. Patty Blake says:

YOU LOOK ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!!!!!! Oh my goodness, Cassey!! I have been so focused on centering my workouts only around yoga, but because of your AMAZIN’ inspiration, motivation, and dedication… I’m thinking of possibly starting to train for a bikini comp! Maybe.. haha^^

  34. Liza says:

    CASSEY! You look AMAZING!

  35. Chantal says:

Have to say again how amazing you look! We’re all so proud of you for accomplishing everything you wanted!!! I actually have a question for you that I would *love* if you could answer…

How did you go about finding a personal trainer that worked for you? I mean, there are so many PTs out there nowadays and I know that not all of them have the skills/knowledge to get you into the kind of shape you did. So yeah, how do you find a bikini competition geared PT? Thanks!!

  36. Melissa says:

You look amazing. I love the picture with weights because the contrast between how tiny you are and how huge the weights are really emphasizes your strength.

Are you worried about adjusting back to your normal-non-competition-healthy lifestyle? It seems like it will be emotionally challenging: like eating the normal clean way that you used to and exercising the amount that you used to might not seem like enough and might feel like defeat. I lost 50 pounds on weight watchers and the switch from losing to maintaining was really tough. This seems like it will be much harder.

  37. I love your hair color! Looks great, can’t wait to see your shots in Fitness Magazine!

  38. Gosh girl you look hot!!! Keep up that great work..and keep me.motivates w your great looks. 😉

  39. Georgia says:

You look AMAZING.GORGEOUS.FAB a real model, a fit model that is! You nailed the makeup and your hair looks like you’ve stepped out of a hair salon!
Good luck on the competition this Saturday!!!

  40. Cassey,
I have been following your blog for a bit and have found what you do, say, and look like to be pretty inspirational. You are strong, beautiful and healthy.
That being said I’ve found the recent transforamation to a bikini comp to be rather triggering. I suspect I’m not alone in this and I’d love to hear some about your internal process in it all, beyond the difficulty of eating clean and training a lot. While this can be ok in the very short term seeing someone who I respect engage in these behaviors, even in a non-ED way, can make it seem ok for those of us that struggle and I’d like to see some more discussion about that.
I wish you however the best of luck in your comp!

    1. Sunny says:

I agree, but don’t at the same time. I think it’s really important to stay realistic. One of the problems I have when reading Cassey’s blog is that I feel like I’m not doing enough. I would call myself more of a beginner and to be honest, I know that I’m not going to look like Cassey (… ever) because I care about my health but I don’t care that I won’t be a model for a fitness magazine. I think it’s really important to remember that our reality isn’t the reality of the people we see taking on extreme diets (like Cassey’s competition diet) and that we don’t need to go there.

I think it’s great that Cassey is sharing her hard work with us because it shows us what hard work can do, but I think it’s silly for us to assume that we should take on the same diet. For me at least.

      1. SLI says:

I have to say that I agree. As a fitness instructor/personal trainer myself, I have always enjoyed your blog because I can relate to you, along with the fitness tip/videos and recipes you provided. I do fear that you are becoming unrelatable, and that you are promoting, without realizing it, a very unhealthy message to women – especially those that may struggle with an ED. It’s impossible for the general population to train and eat like this in a sustainable way, and as much as you claim this is just for competition training, it still has the ability to convey to readers of this blog that this is how they ‘should’ be eating/training/living. I do hope that you take this into consideration as you continue along your fitness journey. Good luck next weekend.

        1. blogilates says:

Hey there! I understand what you are saying. I will address this deeply in another post. Thanks for your concern.

      2. Ferra says:

Actually, this type of super clean and strict diet coupled with extremely vigorous training which both need a lot of discipline is totally healthy for a short amount of period of time (8 weeks is great!), yet she still eats way above 1200 calories. This type of meal plan and workout routine is geared towards quick results and it’s simply called the “Event Diet/Routine” (Something along these lines.) We should always strive to stay within 5 pounds of our ideal weight (let’s say it’s 120, if you’re 125 and not having a wedding until 6 months later, don’t sweat it! Literally. Lol!) because it is IMPOSSIBLE to keep this up for longer than 8 weeks without wanting to pull your hair and be cranky all the time cus your body is restricting so many calories AND scorching tons of em. Cassey’s plan is perfect to get ready for a comp, a wedding, a school reunion, graduation quickly… But for the other 364/5 days that you don’t REALLY need to look your best, have fun enjoying your life as long as you stay within the 5 pound mark 🙂

  41. Apfelkern says:

Oh my gosh – that peacock bikini looks amazing on you! This colour is incredibly flattering!

What about wearing this bikini instead of the Cheetah or the pink one for competition? Pink is nice but kind of boring and the animal print incorporates at least for me negative stereotypes.

I’m so excited about the result and pictures of the competition! I wish you good luck!

  42. Ester says:

oh my goshness! you look absolutely fabulous! see, i’d really like to be THAT toned, but it’s just soo hard! wahhh…

    Just WOW!

  46. Saima says:
