WORKOUT DETAILS

Hey-lo POPsters!!!

Wow okay. This almost feels foreign to me. Don’t blog for a day and don’t upload a vid for a week and I feel all out of whack! I hope you still remember who I am.

Anyway, major apologies for not uploading a vid on time for Monday. That weakness/sickness dealio I had last week carried through the weekend and I am finally back in the game. A day late. But I feel much better. I guess I just really needed some “days off”. I hope you kept up with my updates on FB and Twitter and did the Call Me Maybe Squats as your “new vid” instead. It made it to 1 million views today! Thanks to your hard work and dedication! How cool is that!!???

This new vid, “Flatter My Abs Workout” is tough. Really. The moves are difficult but I want you to try. Please try hard and do the best you can. This is the only way you will get stronger. Do not be afraid. If you fall, your head is only about half to one foot off the floor. It won’t be that bad 😛

OH!!! And there’s a burpee in there. A “Pilates Burpee”. I finally found a way to make friends with this long-time foe. My spirit is now at peace.

Also, let me know if you can name the 3 songs I used in the video! It’s karaoke version, so I wonder how many of you will sing a long when you do this workout!

Okay now onto something funny that happened at the gym today. The recurring question of the day was “Do you REALLY eat clean? You know, like how you say on your blog?” Oddly, I was actually asked this a few times by a few different people within the few hours I was there.

If you were one of the students that asked me this, do not feel embarrassed! It’s a totally legit question!! 🙂

Just so you know, yes I really do eat clean! (As you can see on my instagram @Blogilates) Not all the time, but a good majority of the time. If I am prepping for a competition or shoot, then oh yeah, for sureeee I eat clean. There’s nothing that shows better results than an honest combo of clean eating + intense workouts. But like any normal human being, I like to eat ice cream and desserts once in a while. I don’t do it very often, but when I do, people go NUTS on me.

I remember in London I was getting back from a soccer game and had the WORST craving for ice cream. I just wanted ice cream soooooo badly. So a couple of my friends and I headed to McDonalds (yes, McDonalds) and I got a soft serve cone. Oh but I didn’t stop there. I wanted an apple pie too. So I could make apple pie a la mode.

DEFINITE YOLO FOOD MOMENT.

So I’m walking back to the apartment with my buddies and we get stopped by another group of YouTubers and they all stare at me in complete shock. Cone in one hand and McDonalds paper baggy in other. They’re probably thinking:

“And all this time…we thought…”

“I feel betrayed.”

“Cassey is a fake.”

“She’s just like us!”

HAHAHAHAHA.

And I am! I am human! Normal! I have a sweet tooth! And you know what? It’s completely okay to indulge once in a while. It’s NATURAL. Humans developed a sweet tooth historically and biologically to help differentiate between fruits in the wild that were poison (bitter) and fruits that were edible (sweet). So it’s totally okay to crave sweets. The problem is, today we have wayyyyyy too many manufactured/processed sweet snacks and candies that it’s gotten out of control – out of nature’s control. So it is important to regulate how much sugar you eat because sugar is truly the culprit in the weight wars.

But like I said, once in a while, it is very healthy for your spirit and your soul to indulge in some YOLO foods. Keeps you sane and prevents you from totally binging at a later time after a tremendous build up of cravings.

So POPsters, yes I really do eat clean and I truly believe in it. It is a lifestyle that I have fully embraced. The food tastes amazing, I appreciate cooking, and I love sharing with you the joys of nourishing my body from the inside out. If I didn’t really eat this way, I don’t know how long I could fake my way through writing a healthy living blog 🙂 Good food gives me energy and allows me to glow! I hope you feel the same way when you eat your fruits and veggies and stay away from the processed, fried, sugary things. Sure doughnuts and cinnabons may taste amazing for the moments that they are savored in your mouth, but you begin to to sink into a quicksand of lethargy for hours after.

Okay that is all for today! Hope you’re having a fab start to your week and powering through #sweatyseptember.

Love you so much,

<3 Cassey

I’m 13 years old and i was wondering if you could upload an eating plan that could work around my schedule because most of your eating plans involve eating every 2-3 hours but i cannot do that due to classes. Also i am interested in trying the Victoria’s secret ab workout and i was wondering if that is safe for my age group and also if it is safe to do every day. Thnx 🙂

I have been following your videos since spring and, I must say, how amazing they make me feel! I love how you make working out and eating right so fun. It’s truly inspirational for getting fit.

AnyBody know if it is possible to contact Cassey directly? Like via email?x

    1. Alice says:

At the top of the page, there’s an “About Me” link. If you scroll over it and click on the “Contact” option, you can send an e-mail to Cassey there directly or you can get an alternate e-mail for sending her business inquiries through.

      I hope that helps! 🙂

    Hey girl 🙂

i just had the yummiest lettuce wrap and wanted to share it with you, for another healty and CLEAN meal .

    lettuce leaves
    cooked quinoa
    avocado
    green olives
    roasted butternut squash

i also added some kidney beans for protein, but they didn´t do anything for the flavour.

the creaminess of the avocado, olives for alittle bit of saltyness, the sweetness of the pumpkin and quinoa for protein and to fill you up, OMG OMG it was soooo good !!!

would have loved to add a picture of the wrap but could´nt figure out how too.

    hope you try it out.

    xoxo josie

    great workout!
but am i the only one who can’t do the burpee-thing w/o using their hands to help shift the bodyweight to the front? 🙁
i’m quite limber and don’t usually have trouble doing the moves in cassey’s videos, so i’m quite confused. and i really wanna be able to do that move! 🙂 so have u guys any tips how to do that move? am i missing sth / doing sth wrong? would love to hear your tips!

till then, i have found a modification that works just as well (for me at least), maybe it helps some of you, too (?) :
instead of placing your feet to the sides of your butt, cross your feet and tuck them under your butt cheeks (your left foot will then be underneath your right butt cheek and vice versa, kinda like you were sitting cross-legged). you then “disentangle” your feet as you jump back into plank and you’re in the right position again. 🙂

A couple of cheats a week won’t kill you if you work out and eat right all the time. One’s physique is 80% diet, 20% exercise, and yours definitely show that, Cassey. No one should blame you for indulging once in awhile.

  7. Kylie says:

LOVED the vid!! SOOO AWESOME! def could feel the ol abs a working 😉 lol

  8. Kendall says:

I feel like it gets way easier to eat clean as I progress. When I first started I was craving sweets bad and now I barely crave them! It could be getting used to it or the results I’m seeing from not eating those things! Thanks again for the motivation!

    1. Kendall says:

Question: I know I have definitely lost fat because I can fit into clothes that I couldn’t a couple months ago! But, it is weird because the number on the scale has only gone down about a pound. I have been doing a lot of strength training and cardio, but I was wondering if this slow weight loss is because of muscle gain? I don’t really care about the number because I am looking so much better but it is confusing when I step on the scale and see the same number and I have been working so hard!

    2. C. says:

that totally makes sense! i once read that your body (or brain more likely) typically craves the food that it is used to, i.e. food that it gets often.
so if you eat lots of burgers and stuff you will crave that kind of food, but if you eat (yummy) clean food, you will crave that 🙂
it’s certainly true for me, i never even crave burgers or fries. instead, my cravings usually include clean food like almonds, fruit, etc 🙂

  9. Michaela says:

I didn´t even read this blog, I went to do the video straight away and I LOVE IT!!!!!!! love that you created new moves, the time really flew by (felt like 5 minutes to me!), and the Pilates burpee?? Must be my new favourite move!!
    Thanks so much ♥

  10. sarah says:

Everyone needs a break sometime, Cassey! 😀 Don’t feel bad about missing a vid. Love the star abs move! Thanks so much!

  11. Lisa says:

Frankly, I think it would be unhealthy to eat super clean ALL the time; I’ve see many people become so obsessed with eating healthy that it’s crossed into an eating disorder. Allowing room for what your body wants and needs is what balance is all about. On that note, I think it is totally legitimate, NORMAL, and probably necessary for you to take a few days off once and a while!

  12. Liz J says:

Question! What’s the best clean food for an energy boost? I’m on the go all the time and I don’t get to sleep much as I need but I can only drink so much coffee before I start to get shaky and I can’t take notes in class with a shaky hand! So Cassey, what delicious clean food do you recommend to give an energy boost?

  13. Missy says:

Songs: Whistle by Flo Rida, Starships by Nikki Minaj, and Payphone by Maroon 5 🙂 Totally random but could you maybe, possibly… do a video to Give Your Heart A Break by Demi Lovato? Or any of her songs, Lovatics want to werk;)

HATE any variation of burpees, but I’ll totally be thanking you when I’m rocking a bikini next summer 😉
Geez I’m out of control with the smileys… LOL
ONE LAST THING I was wondering if you could do a blog post of what exactly you eat on a day to day basis? Like portion sizes and everything… I would love to see a “week with Cassey” video, if you have the time. I’ve been clean eating for about 2 months, and I’m running out of ideas! Whenever I find a food or recipe I want to try, I never know what to pair it with.

    Thanks for postin!!
    xxx -Missy

    1. Rose says:

That is actually an amazing idea! I would love to see that also! 😀

  14. Bare Katrine says:

Oh my gosh, you make this look so easy! 😛

  15. Deepti says:

OMG ! Do not worry! 🙂 I think you work so hard, and for ppl like me, that can’t really go to a GYM, lets just say WO GODDESS doesn’t cut it. Thank you so much, but I think by the time most of us at least get up to your level, you can ACTUALLY take a whole MONTH off 🙂 (Even then, I’d be the first to fall off the wagon) , and not worry about putting up a video.

  16. Britt says:

I suck so bad at eating clean !! I hate to blame it on ANYTHHING but I do pretty good all day and then when my husband gets home from work and the baby is asleep.. We hang out and eat together and I KNOW I over eat then… Then I get discouraged and slack on the working out half. It sucks but it’s totally in my control. I just can’t put out the determination and self motivation 🙁 I have 15 lbs of post baby weight to lose btw… Still… 11 months later… So embarrassing I would never admit that in real life 🙁

    1. jackie says:

i totally understand!!! when my fiancee is off work 2 days of the week i cannot eat the way i know i should/want to or work out because those are the days we spend together. i wish he liked to do active things but everything i suggest he does’t want to do, grrrr!

  17. Carina Cristina says:

Thank you so much for this! Awesome workout!
And oh! I will challenge myself to eat something “forbidden” or “unhhealthy”. I’m at place right now where being “healthy” has gotten out of hand. It’s no longer a healthy choice but a fear of what is going to happen if I stray from it. Thank you for the wake up call 🙂

  18. amber says:

you are such an inspiration!!!! xxx

  19. Anna says:

Soo glad to hear that you are feeling better!!! 😀 BTW, I love how you always make fitness and clean eating sound fun, not torturous. You do admit that both can be hard sometimes, but not always and the results are worth it. Your posts about junk food cravings are great reminders that health and fitness are about finding the balance that keeps you healthy and happy!

  20. amber says:

I LOVE YOUR BLOG AND I ADMIRE YOU SO MUCH!! AZN POWA :’) XOXO

  21. Jen says:

I think you are absolutely amazing. You dont have to apologize for being human. Life can be really stressful at times, among other things, and we just need to break.

  22. Sandra says:
