The Fitness Fashion Round-Up + GBFs, GFs, and not really BFs

Hey POPsters!

OMG you must must must check out these ridiculous pants.

ohnotheydidnt.com

I was browsing around on the internet this weekend and came across some ummm “interesting” products so I had to make a vid and share! Tell me in the comments, yay or nay! Also, do you like these vloggy type vids on my BlogilatesTV second channel? Let me know if there’s other types of vids you’d like to watch! Open to all suggestions! You know I’d do anything for you 🙂

Also, did you have a chance to check out my new back workout? All you need is a pay of light dumbbells! Looks simple, but as usual, deceiving. And hard.

Hmm and something I wanna comment on today about the value of friends and the value of you…not really related to fitness but totally related to health of the soul, well-being, and happiness.

HEALING TAKES TIME

The start of this week has been interesting. Usually I am working working working and working out. That’s kind of my life and I love it. I’m like an energizer bunny that just keeps going and going and going and going and going…

However, this weekend and today, I did something a little different. I stopped and took the time to talk to friends and share stories for hours. It was so nice.

I don’t know if you remember but I may have talked about a broken relationship I had with my GBF (we were exactly like Will & Grace) back in college and how things kind of went pretty sour due to me meeting someone new. We stopped talking for a few years, there was bitterness, lots of tears, and it was a very painful experience to lose contact with someone whom you really cared about. I remember having to listen to Leona Lewis songs to get over our “break up”. Yes, I am girly like that. And yes that is how I deal with my feelings. Pop love songs are amazing.

Recently, my old GBF and I both put in some effort in the past year to mend things and finally, yesterday, I felt like we were nearly back. It’s taken a very long time to heal but I just wanted to let you know that in life, you need to be able to learn from your experiences, make the best of it, forgive, and move on. Whether it’s moving on alone or together, you must move on in order to live fully. You also must make the choice to be happy. We were both able to move on, but luckily, it turns out that we both had a similar intention to try to make our friendship work again.

Yesterday he brought a collage book I had made of all of the photos we took while in college and we looked through each page and laughed sooooo hard. SOOOOO HARD!!!! The kind where you can’t breathe and start crying. It was the best. I felt so happy to have this person back in my life again.

Sometimes healing just needs time…so be patient and if things are meant to be then they will. I 100% believe that.

SURROUND YOURSELF WITH PEOPLE WHO LOVE YOU

I’m a big believer in putting yourself in the right environment in order to thrive. And you know what? You are the one who gets to choose who you hang out with and who you spend time with. Do these people make you better or do they suck the energy out of you and make you feel bad? If so. GET OUT!!! Get out right now and say bye bye.

Friends are people who make you feel confident, help you feel good about who you are just make you a better person when you’re around them.

Recently, I’ve been dealing with quite a bit personally and professionally and one of my closest friends has stuck through it all with me. He really knows how to pick me up when I’m down and also loves to go nuts with me when we start brainstorming crazy ideas! It’s good, flowing energy. It’s a friendship I cherish and value a lot.

I also cherish my family a lot…sometimes we may fight and argue but it’s family. You forgive and you always know they have your back! That’s the good thing about blood relation!

Also, my girl friends from high school have also been quite vocal, hilarious, and caring in my recent boy situations. Did you pick up on that in my videos? Haha. Taylor Swift may sing about her woes, but I just double leg lift through mine.

VALUE YOURSELF & YOUR TIME

Today one of my girl friends said something that really resonated with me. She wrote, “If you find yourself devoting your time, thoughts, emotions on a guy that can’t give you what you want in the long term, while he isn’t necessarily hurting you, it is still time, thoughts and emotions that could be better spent on someone who is present and willing to fight for you and make a real relationship work.”

WOW.

I really couldn’t have said it better myself. Because. I didn’t actually realize this at all.

Friends look at you from the outside in. They give you perspective and they give you insight. Judgement can be cloudy when you’re alone and living in your own world. Sometimes…your own perceived world.

This is true. It is so true. I kept trying to tell myself that maybe I should live in the moment and be happy for what it is but honestly, it’s not worth my time. Time is something I don’t even have enough of for myself 🙁 I need to learn how to value myself and learn how to let go even when I want something so bad. It’s not good for me. It’s not.

So I am blogging right now to tell you, person, that you’re being let go.

And you know what?

I don’t even think he is reading this right now. Because the person who actually values me would.

Yup.

Yup.

Yup.

REALIZATION. TAKING. EFFECT.

Sorry for the crazy long emotional post! Didn’t really plan that but maybe it’s good to know your instructor is more than just a ball of cheer with a sriracha cherry on top. (Though 99.9% of the time I am!) She deals with problems just like you do. She also likes to KILL WORKOUTS to release her emotions 😀

So what do you say POPsters!?? Let’s go beast today. For me?

Hope you’re having a wonderful day! Love you guys!

<3 Cassey

Its so refreshing to see someone who is both optimistic and energizing but also isn’t afraid to share her vulnerabilities. I recently went through a similar relationship and its so encouraging. Thank you.

  2. KiKi says:

I’ve just started following you, but it was really nice to see that you are such a relatable person. Although you vented for your own sake, a lot of other people needed this too. Myself included. Thank you.

  3. this muscle fashion is funny and nah with this hamburger shooes too..
but for skeleton, I would say yay, but only if someone is confident in their body XD
but I have things for clothes with ribs and bones, they are kinda cool!

Oh my gosh Cassie!! You are just the most wonderful and inspirational person I have ever had the privilege of watching over the internet (lol). Honestly, that post really spoke to me (as most of yours do but this one especially!!). Some guys really just aren’t worth our time – as much as we want them to be. And in the long run we are better off without them. Especially you!! You are wonderful and deserve the most beautiful of guys! I’m glad you have taken a bit of time for yourself though and then you can get back to your killer workouts. Can’t wait to get the new DVD! I hope you know how much love people in the world have for you!! You are truly an inspiration! My idol. Lots of love and positive energy being sent your way. Ellie xx

WOW… all I can say is I love you Cassey!!! I live in NY, I hope we meet one day! We could be great friends 😀 and this post is EXACTLY what I needed to hear, I’ve been going through a similar situation and didn’t even realize it until I read this, so time to surround myself only with people who deserve it!!!

  6. Emma says:

You should write more posts like this! I really enjoyed reading that. It’s great to know also your “other you”. You seem like super-happy person without problems and I know you just like my fitness instructor, so please, write more emotional posts!! 😀

Thank you for this post! You are my inspiration!
    xx

  7. Lyn says:

Thanks for being so authentic and real and sharing what you are going through. It will only allow more abundance into your life.

It’s so so hard to let go but in time it will get easier. Just being aware of the need to let go is a big step.

So often we obsesses over somone and waste so much energy, time and thoughts on the person and the sad part is they wouldn’t be wasteing any energy thinking of you. When you accept that reality as you have you begin to move on.

Grief is real and it often occurs in these situations but you will learn from it. You have now allowed the space for incredible relationships to enter your life.

    You deserve it!

  8. Shelbey says:

Cassey, I hope you know how much you mean to so many people. Truly, from my standpoint, you changed my view of strength training and so much more. And I’m sure for people who know you personally, they LOVE you, and if they don’t, they don’t deserve your positive energy. I understand what you mean about people who don’t value you. It’s unbelievably hard to let them go and I don’t know why. But thanks for your inspiration, I’ve been chewing this post all day, doing some evaluating I’ve been putting off.

Thanks for all you do, we appreciate it.

  9. Megan Elizabeth says:

OHHH my so I’m going to make my best friend read this she has too! It would definitely help her, I hope. I also put that quote up that your friend said on facebook because it just needs to be shared! 🙂

  10. Alaura says:

    Cassey,

Thank you for your post… it was something that I needed to read. Lately things have been hard, and I have been feeling a great depression. It’s hard to love myself and continue with positive thoughts when I don’t see what other people see. Thank you for your encouraging words to have not just me but all of us to surround ourselves with people that will keep us positive. I have been very blessed with a fiance, who supports me and helps me. I really hope that you can find that one day. You have been such a great inspiration, please never change.

  11. kellyc86 says:

thanks so much for your heartfelt, honest post!!
Ive also been going thru some boyfriend issues and the quote that made u say WOW, also made me say wow!!! it was right on target! seems like Im the one giving myself, my efforts, my emotions, my thoughts, my energy, my time into the relationship while he just cruises along on autopilot without a concern in the world. its frustrating. but you and ur friends are right… if he’s not my ideal guy, he will never change to become my ideal guy!! so we shouldnt waste precious time and energy on someone that doesnt give the same in return. Im trying to realize these things as well. I wrote that quote down so i can read it everyday! thanks so much CASSEY!!! <3

    1. blogilates says:

  12. Monica says:

Something must be in the air. I recently had a similar experience. Self-value is surprisingly undervalued.

Btw those Nike tights are totally nuts. Yet so intriguing…

  13. Nancy says:

I recently went through a similar situation and doing Blogilates actually helped me get through it and now I love exercising thanks to you. So thanks for helping me through such a tough time 🙂

    1. blogilates says:

      that’s so good to hear!

  14. Indira says:

    Cassey!

I agree with all these popsters; I also needed to read this, why waste such good, enthusiastic energy on someone who doesn’t give back? I’m going through that question too. And actually, I’ve found that right now, it is so much better for me to focus on my nutsinnovember workouts, because they give back so much!
SO, thank you! I seriously believe we popsters share some strong powerful energy and that we deserve as much!
Hugs to everyone! Let’s keep getting stronger!

  15. katie says:

Cassey you should totally make a stiletto with all the cushion and comfort just like the Nike ones..only make them high fashion and better looking for Ogorgeous. I would probably buy them. !

    1. blogilates says:

      that’d be nuts hahaha

  16. Janelle says:

Wow Cassey, I needed to read this just like you needed to hear it. I wish I could give you a big hug! Thanks for sharing this with all of us. <3

  17. Samantha says:

Hi Cassey! Thank you for sharing real moments with us. I think we all need to remind ourselves that we’re just human at the end of the day and can’t do it all or have it all 100% of the time.

I just also want to say THANK YOU for the workout calendars. I don’t do blogilates workouts everyday, and I’m not actively following the meal plan — but it has helped me so much just to exercise more. Also, I find myself able to do more and more of your videos. This week I finally was able to do the advanced plank! Getting fit doesn’t happen overnight of course, but the small steps I have made encourages me to work harder.

    Love!

  18. Katie says:

You are such an inspiration. I love watching your videos. You are so HUMAN! Sometimes you shake, or forget where you left off, or even stumble a little and that is why I LOVE working out with you. Keep doing what you’re doing and just be you 🙂

  19. ana says:

Love you Cassey!!!! Thanks for all the cool videos and for keeping us motivated all the time!
    Hugs!!!

  20. Marianela says:

Cassey you are a wonderful person and you deserve the best!

  21. Victoria says:

Love you, Cassey! 🙂 *BIG HUGS FOR YOU!*

  22. katie says:

I totally needed that comment in my life. Bye bye rubbish ex-boyfriend that does not give a dam and hello to a brilliant anger releasing pop pilates workout 😀 I am no longer going to waste my time to try be friends with someone who doesn’t care!

You’re so inspirational Casey, I love reading your blogs and I forget you are human sometimes since you always seem so perfect. Hugs from the UK 😀

    1. blogilates says:

      well said my dear 🙂

    you are so amazing!!!

  25. Iris says:

Hi Cassey, I just recently found out about your website, I always watched your videos on youtube.
The items in the video are fun to watch but ridiculous to wear, I can’t imagine someone would actually wear it. LOL
I just want to say thank you for the time and effort you put into making videos! You make me want to work-out and I have a lot of fun working out with your video’s. It’s just so nice that you’re talking about other things during work-outs and always motivating when it truly is starting to burn! You’re a real girl, a very good person, I’m very happy for you that you have one of your best friends back!!
So, thanks for that, I hope you’re keeping it up till forEVER, because I can imagine me working out on your videos when I’m like 60 (I’m 21 now)!!

  26. kat says:

Wow, so true! That post was exactly what I needed to hear today and I didn’t even know it – I wish we could all just give you a collective hug Cassey! You are so strong and so full of light and love, don’t let anyone, ANYone make you feel anything less than amazing. Thank you so much for sharing this with all of us, it really means a lot and I hope it helps you too! Now time to KILL IT with NutsInNovember (and Taylor Swift).

    1. blogilates says:

aww – i want a big collective hug!

  27. Grace says:

Cassey thank you soo much for this post! Hey it’s ok if you’re not super duper happy 100% of the time. You’re human! You provide such good workouts and wonderful advice not only when it comes to fitness but also when for life in general (your comment for LWWY was pretty good) so you can always count with us POPsters if you ever need advice or just to talk because we are a community and that is what communities do, they provide support. Sending all my love to you and I am so happy you mended your relationship with your friend. 🙂

  28. teilzeitDAU says:

oh and i totally forgot to comment on the vid: i give this a triple yay!! yay!! yay!! the vlog, that is. not the items:) please do more of these vlogs if you feel like it! I love them, they always make my day! (the live-while-were-young discussion vlog, i nearly died laughing!)

btw: i’m glad you gave all those things a big NAY, too. i totally agree. they’re gross.. hilarious (hello bodysuit thingy) but gross 🙂

oh and PLEASE tell me you photoshopped the horse-foot one and didn’t actually see this on an website? it’s gross x485764758!!!!! 🙂 now i know i once mentioned in a comment on this blog that i usually tell myself i’m a “thoroughbred in the disguise of a plough horse” when i’m doing recovery workouts, but this would really overdo it, ahahahahahaha!!:)

however, the very last item is a big YAY indeed!! i already ordered it and can’t wait for the parcel to arrive, yay!

    love ya!

You are such an inspirational person. I am glad that you two were able to mend things. It’s always really sad to lose a good friend.

  32. Ioana Constantin says:

It was so nice reading your post. You are such a inspiring person and beautiful, on the inside and on the outside. You deserve a guy that makes feel good and happy, like i get after doing your workouts.

You are amazing and definitely my role model!!!
    Love you<3

  36. teilzeitDAU says:

wow. this post just felt as if you told MY story. i can so relate 🙁
i decided to let go for about a million times now but still can’t – or don’t want to, more likely. am working on that last bit, though.

sometimes life sucks, but then i just think of myself as a – don’t laugh 🙂 – blade of grass: it might bend and be pushed to the ground but it’ll rise again when the wind is gon, haha 🙂

    1. Marianela says:

wow, that is a great thought!

  37. sam says:

Thanks for sharing what is going on with you cassey! It is good to know that you aren’t bubbly and perfect 100% of the time…only 99% 😉 You can’t waste time on people who aren’t worth it! It’s funny because I always forget that you are only a couple of years older than me…OF COURSE you still have boy problems. duuhh. I think sometimes we forget that you have a life that you aren’t fully sharing, it’s nice to be reminded 🙂 I like hearing what’s going on with the girl torturing me through the screen every day!

  38. Allison says:

Thanks Cassey, I needed that today… been going through some rough relationship (not romantic) stuff lately. Thanks for staying positive 🙂

  39. Alejandra S. says:

Good for you! Sometimes these realizations happen when we’re ready to digest them. In the end you learned something and you grew, and that’s exactly what we’re about in the pop pilates club isn’t it?

  40. Amanda says:

This was a very helpful post

  41. Lori says:

<3 you girl! You are so inspirational and my daughter and I love doing your workouts together! It presents great bonding time for the two of us, and I feel like I know you, I feel like we're such good friends, even though you don't know us. 🙂 You're so awesome! Keep up the good work, can't wait to work out with your sriracha cherry on top this afternoon!
