Hey guys!

It is time for your October Calendar! I am so excited about this one because, well to be honest, there’s a pumpkin with hipster glasses. HOW CAN YOU NOT BE EXCITED ABOUT A HIPSTER PUMPKIN!???

I hope you love the calendar as much as I do! The pumpkins you see in the background were personally painted by a very artistic member of the Blogilates team, Leslie! She used glitter and fabric paint to achieve those looks. I really love how they don’t look at Jack-o-lantern-y. Because the base is white, they look really classy! I then photographed them outside as the sun was setting! As you can see, we pay a lot of attention to how your calendar looks and feels. Since you have to hang this on your wall or use it as your desktop for a whole month, I want you to WANT to look at it!

So, what to do now?

  1. Click on the calendar, save it, and print!
  2. Hang it on your wall or put on your desktop background.
  3. Download the Blogilates App (SUPER cool new feature is coming soon!)
  4. Find all the daily videos either by subscribing to the App’s calendar or by going to youtube.com/blogilates
  5. Check off the videos as you do them each day.

THAT IS IT! This month is going to be epic! Do you know what you will dress up as for Halloween? I have no clue yet. If you have any suggestions, please let me know!

Also, for the rest of Fall and into Winter, watch out for some new videos from me. We are trying to get a little more creative and well, it may get weird. But whatever. I love weird because weird is me and I love me 🙂

    This months calender has been the most challenging so far. I’Ve been doing the calenders since August 2014 but I can barely see any changes. My family don’t like the idea of eating healthily and it’s really hard to stay positive. Please help!

      Rosie,

      I understand the whole “family eats like crap but I don’t want to” thing. I’ve been through that and it was tough. Junk food everywhere, tempting me with its killer goodness!

      I have two suggestions to combat this:
      1. If you have a job or spending money, buy and hoard your own food just for yourself. Talk to your family and say that no one else can touch this food without you saying they can.

      2. If you can afford it and are old enough, try moving out to somewhere else, heck, maybe even another relative’s house. There you can also get and have your own food.

      My suggestions might not be feasible, but I’ve also done both, so that’s what I’ve got haha

    Just started with this regual calendar, I was working out with the beginners; I can barely finish all the videos and haven’t been able to do a full one!! they are super hard.. any thoughts? I’m challenged to do the whole videos someday!

      Just keep doing cardio and try and it by one more move at a time. Maybe try doing 3 standard easy moves, then gradually add in one at a time…hope it helps!

    I need some guidance. How in the world do I stay motived after being so darn sore the first couple of days. I have to say I have only successfully compelted 1 calendar all the way through and it was 4 years ago when I was a Sophomore in HS. Can ya’ll please give me tips on how to workout through the soreness, and how to stay motivated to finish the calendar? I’m desperate.

    I’ve halfway through the beginner’s calendar and I was just wondering, since I run 6 days a week, morning runs just before my workouts, do I still need to do the cardio videos on the calendar? Or is my running enough? I run for about 30 minutes every time.

    Thank you so much for all that you do. Before discovering you on YouTube, I used to sit around and complain about how my body looked. It made me very depressed. Then I decided I need to get up and go do something about it. So I found you when I was looking up Pilates videos that I could try. You have changed my life in so many ways.     Hey all! Looking for a little help – I am new joiner this month and I did not do the beginners calendar? I just started with October? Is that ok? Also, do we just do the calendar and nothing else? Or do we need to do more cardio each day too? Just want to make sure I am doing it right.

      Depends on how fit you already are, I suppose. Doing the Beginners2.0 really helped me build a little extra strength, the October calendar is very intense to start with.

      I personally only do the calendar. I just do other little things…. like take the long way around the office to the washroom, do stairs when I can, squat up the stairs (when no one is around lol) ect.

    I’ve completed the Beginner2.0 and have been following along all October with this calendar, but I’m still struggling HARD with Roll Ups.

    How long did it take you guys to successfully complete a Roll Up? (aka no help with your arms, all the way up with JUST abs)???

      Hi Samantha I could do a rollup the first day of the Beginners calendar even though my ankles did come up at first lol but then I have always had good core strength don’t get discouraged keep trying!Maybe try to do more crunches,sit ups,and reverse crunches really anything to build up your ab strength God Bless and remember to just do your best you will get it up eventually so keep trying:)

        Damn, I’m jealous haha I can lift until my mid-back and then its a no-go. Almost like it won’t roll to my lower abs… I place my hands along my thighs to help me get up. I don’t have to pull much, more just for stability but still!

          Just FYI, torso length has a lot to do with difficulty in doing a roll-up. It might not have anything to do with your ab strength but more to do with having a longer torso or different proportions than others. Some people just have a “sticking point” where they need their arms to help out so don’t get discouraged if it continues to be a challenge. As long as you’re getting a good workout and listening to your body, that’s all that matters 🙂

    Help!! I wanted to do today’s workout, but couldn’t find the playlist!! It’s October 12, and the video’s from 3 days early are still on youtube but today’s is not .. 🙁 I downloaded the app but couldn’t find then there either!! Please help 🙁

      yeah for some reason there isn’t a playlist for today (or there wasn’t this morning, when I did the workout), just search the titles from the calendar on her channel and do them that way. They’re all there.

      I also replaced the last video on the calendar, with the newest Turbo video since the “New Video” option isn’t on the October Calendar….

    I’m young and still fat. I know not to use that word but it’s the truth… I get bullied for it all the time and am so ashamed if I got to a restaurant with my friends or family and I see them. I go to the gym 2-3 times a week but it seems like nothing is happening . I try so hard to eat healthier and to exercise more. It’s stressful with revision and everything but I always just think is it going to work. I feel like I spend so much time researching how to lose weight and try things that it doesn’t work

    Please help me find the best exercises to do…..

      Fuck what other people say Becky! Everyone is beautiful and so are you. You’ve found an amazing platform here since Cassey is the best at motivating people who cannot motivate themselves. Just do the monthy workouts and try out some of the recipes she posts and YOU WILL CHANGE. Only remember to do it for y o u and nobody else! And also the best thing to show them that you are better is to ignore them and show them how you can achieve everything you want.
      Everyone here wants to feel better in their own body if they are thin or thicker so we all stand behind you!

      Hey you should listen to Hannah and not stress out about it! I know it seems hard but those people generally just pick on other people to hide their own insecurities and try and feel better about themselves, or they’re idiots who simply don’t have two braincells to rub together 😉 Believe me, as someone who was bullied so much my teacher advised my parents to move me to a different school, which they did!

      Don’t stress out about it! Seriously don’t! I realise that revision is stressful ( trust me I know, Im in college and Im after putting on quite a bit of weight from stress and comfort eating 😉 ) But Im not worried cause I know I’ll lose it, just like you will!

      I think some really good advice is to not obsess about losing weight. Cause if you do, it will seem to you like you’re going nowhere, it’s like if you keep checking your watch every two minutes it will seem like the class will never end! Instead, treat this like a challenge. I don’t know if you’re a beginner but take either this October plan, or the beginner one and follow it as best you can, right through to the end. Make note of how many times you stopped and how you felt after each day. Don’t read over it and don’t let it affect you. Just write it and put it away in a safe place and do this for each day. At the end of the month, start the same plan again and after each day read how it originally felt to do it the fist time, it’ll be easier!! Maybe even write down how much you’ve improved!

      Another thing (I don’t know if this applies to you) is diet food. Now people, especially from America I find (Not hating on Americans by the way!) don’t realise that diet food isn’t actually good for you and doesn’t help you lose weight, (there are rare exceptions) and that is because of all the artificial foods and chemicals in them. If you eat home cooked made from preferably as much organic food as possible you will feel the difference. Trust me. I was raised on home cooked food from the time I started eating actual food as a baby, nearly all the veg were home grown and to be honest I can barely stomach overly processed food, I always feel gross after it! The same when you make the change to good whole food, you feel amazing!!

      There’s nothing wrong with going to the restaurant as a treat, same with having the odd junk food treat. As long as you have them in moderation, as a treat, its fine. As my mum always says : “everything in moderation!”

      Another reason to to worry how little you seem to be losing is because the scales can’t tell the difference between fat and muscle. Now I haven’t seen you, I don’t know your BMI or anything like that. But keep in mind that as you exercise you lose fat but you also gain muscle, and let me tell you, muscles weighs a lot more than fat!

      So yeah don’t focus on weight. What I do when I try to get fit over the summer is just eat healthily and exercise. I don’t weigh myself even once. Instead I measure how far Ive come be how far I’m now able to run or how many more sit ups I can do now. Trust me, its a better and much more awarding way of measuring how far you’ve come 🙂 Maybe weigh yourself at the beginning of the month and note it and then put that note away and forget about it for the rest of the month. In the meantime measure yourself the way I do, by how far you’ve come! And then at the end of the month see how much you weigh now (keeping what I said about muscle in mind)

      Make sure that you don’t eat a surplus of calories, keep it down to 1500-1800. Also do a lot of core strength moves.

      It will be more practical for you to subscribe to the blogilates. You will start recieving emails when one of them is your monthly workout plan so you won’t need to wait for the playlist.

      Cassey always tells us that it’s OKAY to take breaks 🙂 When I did the monthly calendar for the first time I only did half the workouts for each day because I kept being out of breathe too. Just take it slow, you will increase your endurance as you keep doing cardio. xx

      Personally, I divide the workouts – morning and night.
      I usually do the high intensity ones in the morning, like cardio. It helps to wake your body up, but then I don’t have that much time in the morning so it depends.
      I started doing Cassey’s workouts when I was still a student. It’s actually a great thing to do between study breaks XD you should try.

    First month off the Beginners Calendar and that first day killed my sides. Felt it today, wow!!

    I do wish the calendars were more widescreen friendly. I set it as my desktop background on my 13″ Macbook.. but the writing its so small it’s barely readable. I end up with a small centred image with colour bars along the sides of it (like the pink is, next to the white where you’re reading this on the site). I wish it fit properly to my screen. Stretching it to fit doesn’t help either.. makes everything distorted too.

    Hi Cassey i love<3 your videos and i try to follow your calendars but i have just started my GSCES's and i cant keep up with it please can you make a video or calendar for students which means not a lot of time has to be put in it also i just watched your cheap clean eats video and i love<3 your new kitchen but you use banana a lot in your food videos i am allergic to bananas so what can i substitute for it ,i am also asthmatic are there any foods particularly good for asthma might i ask?

      HEY I’m on GCSE’s too!! Good luck! I do my workouts at night because I have to get ready for school in the morning. Also when I first started with Cassey’s calendars I only do a few videos for each day (like half the workouts) and eventually I did more until I could manage doing all the supposed workouts in one day. It’s ok to take it slow, especially that you have asthma
      Sometimes in between studying I do one of Cassey’s workout to refresh my mind.
      I’m sorry that you’re allergic to bananas ;( I heard peanut butter and pumpkin puree are good substitutes. For asthma, I’ve heard that eating foods with lots of antioxidants (broccoli, apples, most fruits and vegetables) are really recommended.

    I’m super excited for this month’s calendar. I hope I can keep up. I have only completed about 75% of the beginners calendar, but I think I can do more. How do you best keep yourself motivated? I love the videos and have never found anything that I really enjoyed until these. But scheduling can make doing videos difficult. What do you do? If you go out of town? I prefer to do the videos in the evening.

    Hello I am going to be 21 in march and I have 2 kids aleah is 2 Isaiah is 1 I breastfeeding them until they were a year aleah was a year and 3 months any mother can agree with me that breastfeeding make your boobs sag and deflation so I want my boobs back !!!!     I’ve doing the beginner calendar for the last 2 weeks. I’ve noticed that anytime i’m in Pilates stance my neck hurts. I’ve been trying to lift with my abs but my neck will still hurt.

      I had that problem for the first few weeks, but keep trying and it’ll get easier. Its that your upper abs aren’t strong enough, yet. Rest your head for half the reps, then try to lift again. Remember to not look up, only straight ahead. Looking up is where the straining really happens.

    So glad the October calendar is up already! But is this recommended for someone trying to gain weight also? Though I started the beginners workout calendar already and since then I haven’t missed any workout. I can say there are changes like in my abs and I became stronger also, and I’m really happy about it but there’s not much on my weight though. Now with this new calendar means more workout to do, do you think it can affect my weight?

      it is not actually matter if you’re trying to gain or lose weight, as long as you eat healthy and workout, your dream body will come someday. It is about getting stronger after all

      I’m sure that working hard with blogilates is good for your weight, even if you wanna gain weight. I’m in for 3 months now and I can see big changes!! So go on and eat clean 😉

      It’s possible you could start losing weight on it, but you also have to be watching your diet to see results- eating clean and avoiding having tons of sugar etc. Also, Pilates is mostly strength training, which is great because over time you build muscles and those muscles burn more calories for you when you work out than you did before. However, for faster weight loss you also need to incorporate more cardio too. I didn’t start losing weight until I began doing more cardio. A lot more than I wanted to (ugh cardio!). I like Zumba, or Cassey’s dance videos.

      Hello Ayana! You go to youtube and write the name of the workout video. To be sure that it is the one you’re looking for, look that it is posted by blogilates. Or you can download the blogilates app to your cell and purchase the workout calendar (99 cents a month), and there you’ll find the videos with the direct link to them. Hope it helped.       I take a little breather to drink some water or wipe of the sweat lol if I need to, but otherwise I try do do them in one go to keep me motivated as well as to get more out of the workout because it keeps my body moving. Also I usually find the video intros/outros just enough time to catch my breath. ???? But you should do as you feel. Hope this helps ????

      I usually play all the videos in continuation. It only takes less than an hour… But if you can’t do them all at once, I guess it’s better to take breaks than to skip some of them. If you’re a complete beginner, I would recommend the beginners calendar 🙂 we all work our way up in our own tempo

    I don’t have the blogilates app and I can’t see the secret video you post, and on the new calendar I don’t see the part about a monday’s new video. I don’t like that because I think it’s not fair that poposters who don’t have the app don’t have a new video to workout and challenge themselves.

      To be honest, it is fair that those who pay get to watch/use the exclusive video on the app. This comes from a business point of view. Creating and maintain an app costs a lot of money. Even if you don’t get the exclusive video, you could always substitute it with another video. Cassey has already done us a HUGE favour by making 99% of her workouts; the other 1% are from the exclusive videos. She has also provided tons of healthy recipes, meal plans, etc. So, I don’t see why it is such an issue to anyone to pay a small price for such amazing efforts!

      I hope you do count all the considerations that Cassey has made for us POPSTERs. Paying for the calender is just another way for us, international POPSTERS, to show Cassey the support she deserves!

    I’m pumped up for this month’s workout calendar! The glam pumpkin is a cute touch.

    One thing I noticed is that you have Columbus Day listed on the Calendar, which is fine because it’s still a national holiday, but for many people of color (I’m part Native American) he represents a lot of past destruction and hurt. A few states have opted to changing the day to “Indigenous Peoples Day” instead in order to acknowledge past wrongdoings . Nothing against you or anything, but it’s just something I noticed!
