TRANSFORMATION TUESDAY! ALLISON!

TRANSFORMATION TUESDAY! ALLISON!

Hey POPsters!

Today is another edition of Transformation Tuesday where I will feature an inspirational POPster from our community who has shown drive, strength and pure determination to keep going everyday! These are the qualities that will help you succeed no matter whether you are looking to lose weight or just do something you could never do before like a pushup. Today I have the pleasure of introducing to you Allie from Connecticut!! I met her at the NYC Blogilates meetup and I clearly remember her walking up to me eyes filled with tears. I asked her what was going on and she said, “I can’t believe I’m doing this” and started crying. She spilled to me her real emotion and allowed me to look in her eyes to see the journey that she traveled for the past several months. I started to cry too.

Please give a warm welcome to an extremely hard working and inspirational POPster from the East Coast, my new friend, Allie!!

Before I begin my story. I need to send out a huge thank you. My life has changed & I could not have done it without your help.

———————————————–

My name is Allie. I’m 23 years old, born & raised in Norwalk, CT. I grew up playing sports and dancing. I was always muscular but, still overweight. I tried for years, through vigorous field hockey workouts, to lose weight because my Dad had been a diabetic and I knew it was in my future. After so many failing diets and underwhelming exercises I was introduced to Blogilates.

Late August 2012 I began my transformation. I googled Blogilates & found myself laying alone in my living room doing these crazy, random, YouTube videos on my phone! 🙂 September came & I had already signed up to Blogilates.com! Within a week I received an email about some calendar called #SweatySeptember … I ended up printing my calendar and I completed the entire thing. By the end of September I had lost 20lbs!

I started to notice all of the shirts & sayings that inspired me. After losing the first 20lbs I found myself “eating clean”. My regime was Low Salt; High Protein, all natural.

I continued to follow each calendar, every month. With the encouragement and positivity throughout each video I gained self-confidence & my self-esteem was sky high! Since then, I have become a new person. I can proudly say I have lost 75 pounds in the last 7 months because Cassey got my butt off the couch! 🙂 I finallly did Pilates with Cassey, in a studio, in NYC! Seven months ago, I would have collapsed after Call Me Maybe Squats.

I do not plan on ending this journey just yet. 75lbs down and I can easily imagine myself losing another 50! Thank you so very much for being the inspiration that gave me my start. Thank you for being my motivation throughout the last 7months. Thank you for being the encouragement I need to finish strong. #TrainInsaneOrRemainTheSame <3

Wow! Isn’t that amazing? I know for alot of the other transformations I posted, you saw someone go from overweight to super fit. I felt it was really important to show someone who is in progress and in the midst of her journey. I’m so excited to see what Allie will do in the next several months and I will make sure to have her check in with us so we can see. Allie, you are amazing, girl! Keep going strong!!! You truly embody what it means to be a POPster.

Love,

Cassey

These stories are so inspirational, I have just carried out the 3rd day of the #ThisismyJuly calender, even though I didnt do all five workouts all together (3am and 2pm) it was worth it and reading these transformations has given me the motivation to carry on for the rest of the month and the future 😀
    Thank you Cassey

I have been following Cassey’s calenders for 4 months now, I lost 8 pounds so far and definitely have built up my muscle and lost a lot of inches. BUT, I don’t do the entire day of workouts or exercise everyday. I usually workout about 4-5 times a week. Sometimes my life is so busy, I just don’t have time to do them that much – even still I have noticed a change and everyone else too!!! Now I am taking on the challenge to do the 90 day meal plan! Wish me luck!

Awesome job Allie, keep it up!

    I love these inspirational stories!

    1. ariella says:

good luck! tell me how it goes: http://www.glitterartfit.blogspot.com because i wanted to try it but thought it was too specific and might make me feel bad after the 90 days to not do it anymore. but best wishes to you!

These transformation stories really inspire me to move my butt. I am never a fit person. Although not overweight, I always am kind of flabby. But I will try to do this one video at a time, starting from the beginner workout this very day. And also cut the potato chips. Good God, what did I get myself into? :))

    1. ariella says:

you’ll be fine. actually, you’ll be better than fine. you’ll be great. Good luck and keep moving!

  8. Haley says:

I started the blogilates calendar on May 21th, 2013 all through June 11th, 2013. When i realized the calendar was to challenging for me, i found the calendar for beginners. This is my first day on the new one so hopefully by doing this i will ease into the more advanced calendar. Btw i have lost about 3 lbs so far!

  40. Julia H says:

Wow, that is amazing Allie! You’re truly an inspiration and I got so happy reading your text and seeing that you’ve made those results, keep up the good work! 🙂 I think your diet is really good, because it doesn’t say “no carbs” or anything like that, so many people get caught up by LCHF (low carb, high fat) but that’s wrong, since we need good carbs if we’re going to work out, right? 🙂 You’re such an inspiration! Hugs from Sweden, I’ll make sure to follow your journey on Instagram!

  41. Mary says:

    Allie,
    CONGRATS! You go girl!!!

  42. Elizabeth says:

  43. Fran says:

Allie, you go girl! What an awesome accomplishment! That sure motivates a lot of us to keep working hard and pushing to achieve our goals. I’m especially impressed that you learned from watching the videos on your iphone!

  44. Dee says:

This was truly motivational!! I must confess I do more watching of Cassey’s vids than actual doing. I recently lost 15lbs from being sick and losing my appetite. While the number on the scale is so close to my ideal, I can’t even walk for 2 miles without wanting to take an extended nap. So now I understand the importance of being fit and losing weight the healthy way. This was needed encouragement to dust off my yoga mat and DO IT!

    GOOD JOB ALLIE!!

  45. Noely says:

  49. Alyson says:

WOW! That is so impressive. 20 pounds after just one month of doing the calendar?! I haven’t been following the calendars because I didn’t think I could handle it, but this is seriously inspirational…

  50. Karissa says:

Totally made me tear up! I have been working out with Cassey since October but keep having to take breaks for several days or sometimes weeks because life happens (especially with 4 kids!). With at least 50 lbs to go, you will be inspiration to not give up!! Thank you for sharing your story, Allison…I can’t wait to see your progress!!!

  51. Nicola says:

  60. Terra says:

    Allie,

Thanks for sharing! My husband and I both need to loose 100 lbs. We were trying it on our own. Tossing in an extra long walk with the dog, a video, or a bike ride here and there. We had already cut prepackaged foods and anything with high fructose corn syrup. Substituting it all with fresh fruits and veggies. That helped us gain more energy but the lbs. were not coming off! The last day of March I happened upon blogilates and got the April calender! It is nice to hear a success story that was in the same boat as I am now.

As far as the videos go, I think we are more often flat on the floor barely able to do one rep of some moves or barely able to get into the starting position let alone do whatever move comes next! We are finding it terribly difficult to do all the videos everyday, but I figure that’s the goal and we’ll work up to it! Each day we try it gets a bit easier. I also thought my hubby would scoff at the videos, but he’s game! Does not matter that it’s called bikini bod, prom dress workout, or backless dress workout. He’s there trying it all with me! (Though Cassey, you should grab a guy friend to do a video with you for all those guy followers you have!)

Thanks for sharing you story, reassuring me that our goals can be met through blogilates! Maybe Cassey will head on over to Phoenix sometime and I can get to go to one of her meetups!

Congrats on all your hard work!

    1. Katherine says:

Wow…My hat’s off to both you AND your husband. Very impressive that he does those videos alongside you. I wish you both great success in your endeavors. You’ve got this!! <3

  61. Gretchen says:

THank You For Sharing With Us Allie! YOU Just Inspired Me To Get Off The Couch And Change My LIfe. You Are BEautiful!

  62. Len says:

Congrats, Allison! It must have taken so much dedication and willpower to work at this for 7 months straight-I really admire your determination. You look great! Best of luck as you work toward your fitness and health goals 🙂

  63. Crystal says:

Totally inspiring! I have been scared to try Cassey’s calendar(been doing her beginner videos) but I might do her May calendar. Since I am overweight I thought calendar was beyond my level. Looking to forward to may(kinda scared though)! Love these transformations , it is so inspiring!

    1. Amanda says:

I feel the exact same way about the calendars!!! They are intense and I’ve just been too scared intimidated and lazy:( about doing them. But I’m gonna do next months! And I can’t wait to see results! And to become stronger. I am overweight too. We can do it!!!

      1. Allie says:

I started with her beginner videos until i got the calendar! I thought the same thing when i started but i find myself excited with new videos… when a part in the video came that I couldnt do (burpees are a great example) id substitute it for jumping jacks or squats. 🙂 You CAN do it… train insane or remain the same!! :):)

        1. Crystal says:

Great tip Allie, will keep that in mind for may 🙂

      2. Crystal says:

I wish you good luck and I believe we both can do it! Glad I am not the only one, if you want some support you can follow me at crystal @CrystalDrWhoFan on twitter. Only if want some extra encouragement! I wish you good luck and you are right we both can do it!

  64. Rena says:

Allie, you are such an inspiration! Congratulations on achieving such amazing results! I know you can reach your goal in no time 🙂
