If you’re dying to eat cookies, eat this!

Last night, I experimented with some of my Blogilates-approved ingredients and came up with this cookie recipe inspired by JenFit’s Oatmeal & Peanut Butter Ricotta cookies. I omitted the peanut butter, subbed cottage cheese for the ricotta cheese, and since I didn’t have any Stevia on hand, I used pitted dates! Super all natural!

Cassey’s Oatmeal Date Cookie Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

– 1/4 cup dried oats

– 1/4 cup cottage cheese (I used my 2%)

– 4 pitted medjool dates OR 2 packets of Stevia (this is recommended for anyone watching your sugar intake, carbs, and calories. Will break down nutrition facts below.)

– 1/4 tsp baking powder

 – 1 egg white

– dash of cinnamon

DIRECTIONS:

1. Mix all ingredients together in a food processor. Make sure dates get all mashed up. Chunks are okay.

2. Scoop the batter onto a tray after spraying with some PAM. Make mini cookies!

3. Then bake at 350F for about 15-20 min or until firm and the tops are slightly browned.

NUTRITION INFO (entire recipe):

*With dates: 235 cals, 2.4g fat, 52g carbs, 16g protein.

*With Stevia: 143 cals, 0g fat, 28.1g carbs, 15.3g protein.

THE VERDICT?

I was so so so impressed that I could make a cookie taste sweet without using an artificial sweetener! Dates are an all natural alternative. The cookies were really good! If you’re on the 90 Day Challenge, make these with Stevia. I need to go get some.

So how does this fit into the plan? You could def sub it for breakfast if you’re on the go. Make em the night before and grab as you’re leaving the house. OR! If you’re just dying to “cheat”, you have a massive cookie craving,  or if you still feel hungry, you can make a batch of these as a pick-me-up. Don’t have them ALL THE TIME as add-ons though…it will add up.

Enjoy! Try it! Happy Saturday!

<3 Cassey

They were delicious! Even though I used Stevia instead of dates, because I didn’t have any at home. :))

  2. Erin says:

These were delicious! However, I don’t think I cooked them long enough, because they were still a little doughy. They definitely didn’t look like the above photos. Oh well, I’ll just have to make them again ASAP 😉

Cassey!! Could you puh-leeze post a recipe for healthy chocolate chip cookies. I like have an addiction to these and it would be helpful if there were less unhealthy ingredients. (By the way I loved this recipe… but it didn’t fill the void)

  5. Rosie Watts says:

I know it said “entire recipe” BUT I just wanted to make sure that meant the nutrition info was for the whole batch of cookies at the end not just for one!

For the entire batch almost seems to good to be true haha

    Thnx xo

LOVE LOVE LOVE this idea. Whenever I try to eat healthy I always get cravings for sweets and don’t know where to turn considering most options are so unhealthy! I’m going to try this recipe and the others on this site, and I’m going to try the workout videos along with going to the gym and see what the results are. I am SO glad I came across this website and I will definitely be spreading the word! 🙂

I am really excited to try this recipe :). But I’m wonderin how much Stevia “2 packs” are? I only have a real big pack of stevia (like u buy sugar) but I cannot imagine that I should use two of these big bags ^^.

    1. Noelle D. says:

I would recommend about two teaspoons of it if you have the big bag! 🙂

  9. Monica says:

I just made them… Yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm do it

  10. Doodle says:

Mmmhhhh. I forgot to spray my baking sheet so I had to eat them off it, but the amazing taster made up for that. Found these as good just as a mixture as they were after they were baked. Thanks for sharing Cassey!

  11. Elizabeth says:

The version with dates is pretty high calorie. I would just go the full monty and eat a regulary toll house chocolate chip cookie. If I’m going to eat something that high in calories, it better be WORTH it.

OMG! Amazing. PMS making me crave for sweets so strayed off the lean out mini meal plan and had these! Perfect. Not too sweet and fills u up enough so doesn’t make u crave for more . So satisfied! Now i can happily have fish and veggies for my fifth meal!

Hey Cassie, After the Christmas I’ve had I’m hitting clean eating with a vengeance. o after scouring your recipes i cam across this one and noticed there’s Baking Powder in it. I’m a food blogger myself (Yup doesn’t exactly help with the clean eating and fitness but I’m getting there) but just thought I’d let you know you wouldn’t really need the baking powder in there, there’s no flour so the baking powder doesn’t really do anything It wouldn’t really effect the taste plus it’s one less ingredient you actually need in your cupboard. 😀 x

  14. Just made these with some slight variation and add-ins… 1 ripe peach! In the oven now… smells great. Love the “slimming” ingredients in these.

    Thanks!

  15. Emily says:

Made them and they were so tasty! Next time I’ll have to make more because my mom and sister liked them too.

  16. Brenda says:

Is it 235 calories per cookie or for the whole recipe? got a bit confused there. Also, these cookies look delicious!!

    1. Jessica says:

Cassey said it’s 235 cal for the entire recipe.

  17. Ashley says:

    Hi Cassey,

Heard of chia seeds? They are a good substitute for butter, flour and eggs. Also can be used as toppings on salad, yogurt, smoothies etc. It has heaps of nutrients, high omega-3, anitioxidants, high fibre, gluten-free, supports weight loss! Hope to find your recipes using this superfood soon 🙂

    Have a great weekend! 🙂

  22. saim says:

I just made these but subbed some of the ingredients. I uses, 1/2 cup oats, 1 1/2 cup egg whites, 1 scoup vanilla protein powder, 1tsp vanilla extract, 2 tbs stevia and dash of nutmeg. They turned out scrumtious and my family loved them. Will be making another batch tomorrow.

    1. saim says:

oh and 1 tsp baking powder

      1. saim says:

I meant 1 and half egg white NOT cups!

  23. nooneytoons says:

OMG tytyty!!! cookies are my BIGGEST craving. but everytime i try to make a healthy recipe it still has more fat than i want… im so excited to try these. i might experiment with it a little… i cant have cottage cheese so i might use unsweetened home made apple butter (its just pure apple with spices) or a mashed up banana to see if it still works. i also might add some grated fresh coconut. omg yum im so excited! thank you!

  24. Carolyn says:

Wait, wouldn’t the ones made with dates have 2.4 grams of fat? In any case, thanks for the recipe! Making this vegan shouldn’t be difficult, and I am sure they will still be brilliant! =)

    1. blogilates says:

YES! You’re right. I just fixed this 🙂

  25. sony says:

Hola Cassey! Are there any other fruits I can use besides the dates? If possible Thanks 🙂

    1. nooneytoons says:

      1. nooneytoons says:

        1. sony says:
