WORKOUT DETAILS

Hey POPsters!!!

Jackelyn came to visit last week and we captured a fun workout routine for you! I must warn you however – even though we are laughing through most of the moves, I was dying. I’ll tell you which one is secretly a killer…

That monkey pushup.

When I got up, my inner thighs were SPAZZING!!!! It was ridiculous! It’s the positioning of the feet. Because they are so wide apart, it really challenges your lower body. I was not expecting to have trouble walking after that exercise but OMG I so felt it. You need to do the monkey pushup STAT!

You know what else you need to do stat? Today’s homework. If you printed the calendar, you will see that for today’s body rest, I want you to do a mood boost. Have a read:

happier mood

I remember once in 8th grade, Ms. Purcell had us do a really cool project. There were 30 students in the class and each student had their name on a blank sheet of paper. She passed out the sheets so that everyone had a paper, but not their own. She said, “You have 1 minute to write down as many nice things as you can about this person. Go.” We then passed the sheets around until everyone’s blank page, become a full one. Ms. Purcell then took the sheets home, typed it up, and hung them on the wall the next day for everyone to see. All of my classmates rushed to the wall to see what people had said about them and I remember seeing lots of smiles and hearing laughs. It was such a feel-good exercise…it was a great reminder that we are all amazing individuals…and that yes, we do matter.

The paper is probably in my 8th grade year book which is at my parent’s house, so I can’t show you. But maybe I will call my mom later and ask her to find it! That would be cool to see huh? See if I am the same person or if I have evolved. I have a feeling though that it probably said something along the lines of “Cassey is a hardworker. She is a perfectionist. She is a good artist.” Hahaha…I spent wayyyyyy too much time on school projects back then. I made simple homework into pieces of art that really used up a lot of my time and didn’t make that much of a difference in my grades. I think this is when my sleeping sched started getting messed up. Yeah…this problem has been around for a while!!!

Because we all don’t know each other (yet), I want you to basically do this task for yourself. Be honest, but don’t be so humble that you won’t write things that may sound egotistical! If you’re a talented writer, say it! If you think you have really nice legs, say it! Think you should be on American Idol? Say it!! This month, when you look at this sheet of paper, I want you to smile and remind yourself of how AMAZING you really are. And keep working to be the best version of you every day.

Don’t forget to tweet, insta, or facebook me your completed homework! I wanna see so bad!

Have a wonderful rest of your weekend! I love hearing from you so keep talking to me!

<3 Cassey

I haven’t done this yet but I do plan on doing it. I doubt I will fill a page but it’s a good idea! To anyone feeling like they can’t do this, I feel like you (we) are the ones who really need this. Regardless of who you are, there is something that makes you special. You have some good qualities. It doesn’t just have to be things you’re good at but maybe you’re really caring or an amazing friend. Or maybe you have beautiful hair. Even if you can’t fill a page, try it!!

I’m a day late doing this homework, but I’m catching up lol. I must say, this activity is making me a bit emotional :’) but it’s definitely a self-esteem and confidence booster. Later today I’m going to try to run a mile >.< I guess we'll see what happens 😛 Thanks Cassey <333

Love the mood idea! Actually we kindda did the same thing the past month with my teammates. All of us had to write 3 words about everyone. Then a special comitee took all the words and made us a special “Howard” with medals and gave a us a special name. We all felt so good (well also because it was during a crazy team party) and in a team mood after that. Our team needed it and now we are stronger than ever 🙂

I’m going to do the homework but I don’t have an instagram. I’m going to post it on facebook and my tumblr! 🙂

  11. Aja says:

I love the homework idea. I might scribble down a few ideas and then turn it into a cool typography poster to hang on my wall. It’d be a really good self esteem booster.
Monkey pushups sound scary! I have to do them!

omg you guys crack me up. wish i had a sister like that! haha can’t wait to do the video! actually planning my meals for the next 2 weeks BEFORE i go shopping today. i think this will help A LOT!! thanks cassey!

  16. Rosalie says:

I totally LOVE that workout! But the homework.. I think I can’t make it, I just really don’t know where I am good at you know. It is like saying your good in drawing while you know your sister is better of saying you’re good in learning while you know your not the best of the class…. I just can’t say that kind of things, can’t even think about it. So I think I just don’t do the homework but workout instead of that. No rest day for me!

    1. Heather says:

I know it seems hard and it can be really hard. But I really think you should try. Even if its things as simple as “my hair looks good today” or “I’m really good at getting deals when I’m shopping.” Or “I like my choice of shoes today.” It’s somewhere to start. And if you try to do it a few times a week you’ll start to see your self confidence rise and you’ll recognize the good things about yourself. And I can start you out with one: when you felt you couldn’t do the homework instead of quitting you came up with something else you would do, working out. You aren’t a quitter, you’re dedicated and willing to work hard!

    2. Asha says:

It doesn’t mean you’re not good at something just because someone else is better. Do you like your eyes? Are you a hard worker? Can you draw decently, or sing, or write?
The homework is meant to be a way for us to find things we like about ourselves and improve our self confidence. Even if you can’t think of anything at all to write, just get the paper and a pen and write down whatever comes to your mind (even if other people are better at it than you, or you’re not sure if you’re good at something write it down anyway).
In my opinion, the fact that you can’t think of anything to write down makes it even more important to do today’s homework!
I’m sure you have many great qualities (humility sounds like one you have), you just need to find them 🙂

    3. Anja says:

Rosalie. I think that is just why Cassey set it as a task. Please try it for your own sake, even if it is not easy. Pretend you’re the only person in the world. Or, like, you’re an avatar in Pandora or something. Don’t compare yourself to your younger or your future self or to other people.
You’re a likeable person and you are able to critically consider what you do or do not do. That’s one thing for your list! Asha and Heather mentioned other points and we don’t even know you!!!
      Go ahead, like yourself.

  17. I might do the workout later today, at least it looks like a fun one ’cause you managed to smile your way through it. In regards to the project, I think that’s a good one. Especially nowadays, with all these stories of kids being bullied at school, feeling unhappy etc., it’s good to point out the positive things you see in others. For kids who are insecure, it might help them to become more confident. And even now we’re older, it’s still nice to get a compliment every now and then. 🙂

  18. Kimberly says:

I’ll be honest, I have been following my own program instead of doing your calendars for the month of february and will be continuing with it for a couple more weeks because I set a personal goal for myself in preparation for an event coming up. It’s a pretty hardcore regimen and I probably wouldn’t be able to reap all the benefit of hiitlates if I tried to do both but as soon as it’s over I swear I’m all yours!
That said, I can definitely do this for you! You will not be disappointed 🙂

  19. Therese says:

can’t wait to try this workout!
I’m doing the ‘homework’, but I don’t if I’ll tweet or anything, I’ll be too shy lol

Each one of us is made of various elements of life representing as a circle of life. Where is the beginning on the circle ? The answer is none. To make the circle either complete or larger, we must try to either add more dots of life or make any of the dots on the circle larger. There is no beginning or end to the circle. Each one of us has our own circle ranging from wrinkle circle to completely-rounded circle.
You will better after you try something new. Just like the exercise. It is not easy to start, but after even 5 minutes, you start feeling better. Even the pain for the next day, you will also treasure from it.
The different exercises, the foods, the new communications, the new firends,………etc are those dots that you add to your life. You have nothing to lose, but lots to gain.
Let’s try it together and do Cassey’s homework. It will definitely boots your confidence !!!!!!
For example, it took me a while to figure out that in life you just can not work smart only but YOU MUST WORK SMART AND HARD at the same time at your own pace as who you are without comparing or measuring to anything at all ! That is your circle ro life.
