Day 60 Results | 90 Day Journey to Muscle

Wow. I have made it past the two thirds mark, and honestly, I am feeling exhausted. Not physically, but emotionally.

I edited a video to explain. Have a watch if you haven’t yet.

Anyway, still working on hardening up my heart so I can make it through the next 30 days in a healthy mental state. I will keep you posted on whether or not I decide to continue to share my workouts and meal plans. I don’t want to give power to those who want to see me fail by letting them silence me. But at the same time, is the mental battering worth it?

I miss the old days where my blog was just my diary…

I was actually feeling a little nervous walking into my Day 60 Dexa Scan because of what people were saying about how “impossible” my numbers were from last time. Like, I KNOW I’ve been putting in the work, I KNOW I’ve been lifting heavier, I KNOW I see muscle developing, and yet I still allow what other people say to strip me of my confidence and discount my achievements. I am struggling so hard with this, but I am working on it. You would think that after over a decade of being online, I would have grown a thicker skin. But, I’m just wired like this. I always have been. If anyone has tips on how to not care, PLEASE share.

Anyway, time to go over the numbers. I decided to make a chart to consolidate all the info that matters to me. The original charts are embedded below this one for your further reference.

DEXA SCAN DATA:

MEASUREMENTS:

ANALYSIS:

In the past 60 days:

  1. I gained 6.5 lbs
  2. I lost 3.2% body fat
  3. I lost 2.5 lbs of fat tissue
  4. I gained 9 lbs of lean tissue!!! (Up from 6.3 lbs last time)

Day 30 to Day 60 regional deep dive:

Arms: I noticed that I was not able to increase my weights significantly week to week, and this is confirmed with my arm lean tissue showing ZERO change. Additionally, my Dexa Scan fat tissue report (not uploaded) shows that I gained fat mass in my arms which correlates with the increase in bicep circumference.

Legs: My leg muscle mass continued to grow (0.9 lbs) but not as much as last month. I think “newbie” gains from Month 1 had their run and now my body is now settling into slower and more “typical” muscle growth.

Trunk: I gained 1.4 lbs of lean tissue in my trunk (neck to hips) which is interesting, especially given that my chest circumference decreased by 0.5 inches. However! My fat tissue report indicates that I lost 1.4 lbs of fat mass in my trunk vs last time. This could mean a few things:

1) That all those chest and back workouts I wrote into my plan are REALLY WORKING and/or
2) My boobs got smaller due to fat loss and hormonal changes and/or
3) I am retaining some extra water (I was feeling a bit bloated on scan day – more on this in the next section) and/or
4) Same margin of error from last time and/or this time’s scan

IS THE DEXA SCAN ACCURATE?

Over and I over, I keep seeing naysayers shouting that my results aren’t real and that the Dexa Scan is not accurate.

Well, here’s the truth. Whatever measuring tool you decide to use to track your progress, there will be a margin of error. Dexa Scan may not be perfect but from what I know, Dexa Scan and Bod Pod (which I have not tried yet) are the gold standard. They are way more accurate than those bathroom scales that use bioelectrical impedance analysis to estimate your body fat % and muscle mass %. I have one, and my body fat is underestimated by 6-7% compared to my Dexa Scan.

So…what to do?

If you use the SAME measuring device, measure at the SAME time both times, under SIMILAR conditions (Did you go to the bathroom? Did you drink or eat before?) it doesn’t really matter what device you use. What matters is the change you track. I personally like to measure in the morning on an empty stomach, and with no water intake.

Ah, water intake. Let’s talk about that.

I want to thank the naysayers for bringing this whole Dexa Scan manipulation tactic to my attention. I did not even know that one could manipulate their Dexa Scan to alter their numbers until the comments section led me to some Reddit forums that explained the phenomenon. Apparently, you CAN increase your lean tissue mass if you just drink a ton of water right before.

I looked into it further, and you know what? They’re not wrong. According to this study from The Journal of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition, “Hydration status may affect DXA accuracy…Large changes in hydration (higher than 5%) can change the attenuation of fat-free soft tissue, causing an overestimation of the LST (lean soft tissue) compartment. Nevertheless, small changes in hydration levels do not greatly alter DXA estimates.”

Good to know.

BUT.

1) WHY in the world would anyone want to manipulate their Dexa Scan (which costs ~$55 per scan btw) when the whole point is to get REAL data to help you reach your goals?

2) All the lean tissue mass would show up in your midsection area anyway.

I wanted to bring up the hydration discussion because maybeeeee my trunk lean mass increased due to water retention (I was feeling bloated) but could it have been 1.4 lbs of water bloat? I don’t think so but I’m not sure. Both times I measured, I did so in the morning before eating or drinking anything, so I did everything in my power to keep the conditions the same.

THE TRUTH?

Numbers are just ONE part of the journey. It’s just data points. It’s what you do with it that matters. You need to also look at other factors that matter to you in order to paint the entire picture and help you reach your goals. Measurements. Run speed. Heart rate. Weights lifted. Mood. Fatigue. Clothing size.

At the end of the day, only you know your truth.

I know my truth.

30 days left. Let’s go.

Hi there Cassey, my recommendation is EMDR therapy! Thank you for sharing your beautiful authentic self and motivating so many people to be their best. I recently started my own 120 day journey, which has a goal of mental and spiritual transformation alongside physical results. I had been suffering from depression and anxiety, started a new role at work, was going through a rough patch in my marriage, and I have three kids – one of whom is often in the hospital. During a particularly low week, my work asked me to participate on a panel at the largest real estate conference in the world. Cue the anxiety! I decided to meet these challenges head on, and I’m feeling great and even enjoyed the public speaking event – what!?!? The key thing I did was go to the therapist weekly and do extensive EMDR therapy. This helped train my brain to finally deal differently with old patterns of doubt and insecurity. I think it could be worth a try for you, because it seems these old patterns are really getting in your own way. I learned we CAN get control of old fears – who gives a damn what the naysayers say about you! You kick ass, are full of love, and you can overcome these doubts. XOXO

Hi Cassey, thanks for posting your progress. It’s very motivating, for once, to have so many Numbers . In addition, we can see that your food and sports program suits you. Because in spite of the critics, you have made progress. I’m at the end of week three of thé 90 days diary, and I’m finally starting to integrate more fruits and vegetables in my diet. Thank you for your stories and for showing what you eat, it gives good ideas, and especially a good idea of how to spread your calories over the day. I don’t give up and don’t listen to criticism. <3

  11. Emily C says:

Ever think to measure your arm muscle length (bicep)? This would help determine if you are truly maxed out for arm strength since genetics will play how much we can train our muscles.

  12. CW says:

Hi Cassie, I just wanted to say thank you for your openness and vulnerability. I know it’s hard to do when there is a massive public audience waiting to pounce on you and attack every little detail. I am proud of you for choosing not to share more of your PERSONAL journey. Your journey is for you alone and the gains you make are for you alone. I started out on my own personal fitness and health journey last October. I was (and still am but it’s better now) dealing with depression. And your fitness program and your positivity really gave me a chance to re-learn how to love myself and my body. I used to hate my body and every time I’d look in the mirror I would criticize it and be so mean to myself. You really have helped pull me out of a rut and I know we haven’t even met. But you’re constantly there on the Body App encouraging me to push harder and be the best strong version of myself. So thank you so much for all that you do – you have been life saving for me. Please protect your own heart and your mental health and surround yourself with positivity!

Hello! I have been following along and I understand the hormone and fertility struggles. Have you had your progesterone tested yet? I found when I gained weight- muscle OR fat, didn’t seem to matter- my hormones leveled out and I was able to get pregnant.

  14. Erica says:

I love watching your progress. Don’t listen too much to the comments of “you can’t gain that much so quickly.” Dexa scans are relatively newer measurements available to more individuals. A lot of scans I’ve seen in the past span from 6 month periods to a year. There have been few with as little as 30 day spans. Newbie gains are usually more fluids and fuel than muscle fibers. When there is an increase in activity the body increases it’s glycogen storage throughout the muscles and in the liver. Your second scan shows slower growth.

And honestly I haven’t seen many documented body comp changes as detailed as yours. From body weight to heavy weightlifting is a huge change.

  15. Cindy says:

Hi Cassey! I just wanted to say that I find you to be inspiring and motivating. I admire your passion for what you do and setting new goals. You tackle those goals head on and share which again is helping many people gain a new perspective or just learn something new of how to learn more about their body. Thank you for all you do!

  16. Sharon says:

    Hi Cassey!
I love the way you deep dive into your results and really go over what they could mean for your body. And I for one appreciate you sharing your journey sooo so much!! You’ve inspired in so many ways whether it’s to pursue my own fitness journey or just gain confidence in my body and actually learn what it needs to feel and be a good state!

It makes me absolutely LIVID to see the way strangers and booers treat you online. It’s not enough to just say that you can’t satisfy everyone so just ignore them. Their comments are hurtful and they attack the very core of who you are, which is despicable! But I truly believe there are more people here supporting you and cheering you on than there are those being negative nellies.
Wishing you the very best on the last leg of your journey, and I hope you take the time to thoroughly celebrate all the progress you’ve made!! <3

    1. Cassey says:

      Thank u ❤️

  17. Oddie says:

Dear Cassey, <3 My mom would always say: "those who mind do not matter and those who matter do not mind." If you have something important to put on your blog and a person disagrees with it you could try saying "their loss." I know you as a very positive human being with a diamond heart, please feel better. And thank you for being such a major role model for me! 🙂

    1. Cassey says:

Aw amazing advice from ur mom!

  18. Li says:

Hey Cassie, stay strong! This is your experiment and you’re learning about yourself, just like the rest of us who try out different trainings and plans. The internet can exaggerate the cruel voices, but just know that although there will always be haters out there, there are also people who value what you do. Personally, I’m glad you’re trying out different plans, and over the years, being able to learn through your experiences on your YouTube channel and blog has really helped me. Keep it up!

  19. Glo says:

I think you should not be ashamed to delete the comments that hurt you. It’s like cleaning a house or stopping hanging out with toxic people. They will talk about freedom of speech and you will realize they will still be able to speack, but not in your house, not in your space. Then you will realize you don’t wanna hang out in their spaces, in their places and you’ll know why : you’ll not become like them by talking about them in your space the way they talk about you in their spaces because you’ll be too busy focusing on living in your place. You just need to face the reason why you still “hanging out” with them. It may be because they took something from you that you want back and unconsciously, you may hope they will give it to you instead of reclaiming it and taking it back no matter their opinion. Maybe, unconsciously, you want their approval and that may be why you give them so much power. If it’s the case, choose from who you want your approval. When you do, you’ll fight easily people who want to impose their own approval to you because you’ll respect so much the approval you choose to follow that you’ll protect it/them. I think getting stronger is about being able to protect yourself and it’s bloody hard because we all protect ourselves differently and that’s part of our personality which that’s why it’s awesome : I think, at the end of the day that being stronger, being able to protect yourself is just a way of expression like talking or dressing up etc… That it’s just part of your style.

  20. Clara says:

    Dear Cassey,
    Congratulations! 😀
first of all, you can and should be so proud of yourself! These are amazing results!! 😀 And also you are mentally a lot stronger than you think – after all these comments you are still posting, that shows courage!
Second of all, please try just not to read the negative comments (maybe Sam can sort through?) and/or try to tell yourself that they are just jealous because they could never stick to their why, their goal and their plan as dedicatedly as you can! And most definitely would not dare to be as vulnerable as you are making yourself online!

So, please keep posting, there are a lot of us cheering for you!
And you have been and are such an inspiration to so many!
But obviously your mental health comes first, so as curious as I am, please step away from the public if you need to (or your loved ones say you should, I find, they sometimes have the better long-term perspective on this).

Keep in mind: so many love you, are inspired by you and cheering for you <3 You can't make them all happy and you should not feel the need to do so!

    1. Cassey says:

      ❤️

  21. Nelly says:

Focus on your why. You want to do this for you, you want to inspire others and show them that change is possible. Keyboard warriors will always exist, some people just thrive on being negative and tearing other people down, but do you know why? Because they have failed, they have let other’s make them believe that it’s not possible and that they can’t do it, so they want others to stop their progress. Misery loves company. As long as you have 1 positive reply, hell, as long as YOU are happy and feeling better, then keep your head up and keep moving forward, leave the naysayers in your dust. You got this, and have a whole community rallying behind you!

  22. Alexia G says:

Hello cassey, I just want to say that you’ve been a real inspiration to me and I’m thinking on embarking on a 60 days fitness journey. So please show your nutrition, ignore the negative people and keep inspiring people who sees you in your highest light

  23. Jaime says:

    Hey Cassey,
Fuck ’em, fuck ’em, fuck ’em, fuck ’em all. All the haters that is.
Care all you want, but it their opinions don’t change who you are. Neither do your feeling about them.

  24. Sam says:

I absolutely LOVE these reports, because that’s exactly what all this is–an experiment! Ultimately that’s what a fitness journey IS; you have a goal, you develop a method to achieve it, but you carefully document and measure everything along the way, with stipulations to maybe prove in later experiments. People who spend that much time online harassing you are very, very, VERY likely not putting in any work remotely close to you. The fact that they take time to tear you down means they just want to prove that your effort will fail, so they can self-enable to never try. “WELL, if this extremely well-known trainer put all this work in and failed, then why should I bother??” In the end, you have to just stay in your lane, and close out anyone else. Bullies speak and project from a place of deep self-hatred, and there is N O T H I N G you can say or do to change their minds. You only have control over yourself! And you’re doing a fucking brilliant job, every day, AS USUAL! Never stop being you. I know that living in the public eye this way is extremely mentally taxing, but if you just keep reminding yourself that you’re doing this for you, not them, you still win. Keep it up!! So close now! Excited to see the end result with all that juicy, juicy data in one place!

    1. Cassey says:

Yessss so happy to know I’m not the only one who loves the juicy data!

  25. Melody says:

You will never not care; you’re a loving human being and you don’t want to change that. However, you will come to a point where you realize that all the external BS is just a negative version of external validation. When you are confident enough in your own love and respect of self that you don’t need anyone to tell you that you’re worthy (which you already ARE!), you *also* won’t give a rusty one about the haters. The “mental battering” will subside into unaffected observation of vapid people flapping their lips to feel important/better about themselves. #detach

  26. Ines says:

You do you, girl! Don’t let bitter tongues affect your worth. I know it is easier said than done. You have come a long way, and you are stronger than you think. You have inspired so many of us through your hard work and creativity for years. But you should know that as long as you are a “public figure” or “influencer” out there in social media, especially if you have become successful, you will always have detractors. Please don’t let them get under your skin; it is not worth it. Besides, it is impossible to please everybody. The world will always have ugly people, it is part of the yin-yang balance. I’m no expert, but perhaps some mindfulness exercises or a Buddhism approach will help you deal with it in a more constructive way. These will only help you learn how to let go of useless or harmful comments or feelings. Just think that of a few haters, you have a thousand (or more) loyal followers. Keep moving forward!

  27. PY says:

Cassey, I applaud you for sharing your DEXA scan report details publicly! Coincidentally I’ve just taken my first DEXA scan recently. Shockingly our lean muscle and bone mass weight are almost the same, but my fat issue is way higher higher…. So this motivates me to keep burning my stubborn fat and work hard to keep my muscle. Personally I really love how you look now and you have my respect for showing all of this in public! I’m learning from this and it’s a huge help! I’ve never left comment here before but want to show you my support. Thank you for doing this!

  28. Aliyah says:

Love you, Cassey! Your dedication to your goals is inspired! I hope you reach them and find new challenges to explore along the way! We can only do the best we can with what we know and adjust as more information comes along. Never stop learning! 🙂

  29. jen says:

You know the truth. Treat comments, in real life or on the net, like water. If you try to be a rock eventually the comments will start to wear into you. Be like a duck and just let the water roll off your back.

  30. Mia says:

Some of the best advice I’ve received to not care about the comments people make is found in a book recommended to me by my therapist. The book is called “The Four Agreements”, it’s a short read but really changed my perspective on what people say to me on a daily basis. One of the agreements they mention is “nothing others do is because of you. What others say or do is simply a projection of their reality”. Here’s a link to a snippet of what the book talks about and I hope it helps you 🙂 stay strong!

“I miss the old days where my blog was just my diary…”
Cassey, I don’t know if you’ll ever read this but going on private or posting less content is not weak, it’s simply protecting your boundaries. Think of it this way. When you need to cut off a toxic friend, you don’t mentally tough out their abuse. The brave and courageous thing is to walk away because staying in the friendship only tells them how they are treating you is okay. Same with the internet! What you’re dealing with reminds me all too well of my own co-dependency with toxic situations/relationships. Be careful not to develop a co-dependent relationship with the internet. I found this article that lists 9 warning signs of co-dependency:
    https://www.fortbehavioral.com/addiction-recovery-blog/9-warning-signs-of-a-codependent-relationship/

Please take the time to read it. It might help.

  32. Ju says:

Oh,man, I’m sorry you have to hear people criticise you and your journey :(. I know this isn’t gonna change anything, but I hope it helps even a little bit: You have made it so far (both mentally and physically). It’s YOUR journey and YOUR life, and those people have NOTHING to say about your life. I know you know this, but sometimes it helps to hear it a lot of times, and it must be su tiering to hear people say bad things about what you do all the time. Love u,Cassey. Enjoy your journey 🙂

  33. Sofia says:

(Sorry if my english isn’t the best, I am not a native speaker :])
    Hey Cassey,
I’ve never written any youtuber/blogger in my life but today i feel the need to say this to you.
Because of you, for the first time in my life I really started to enjoy fitness and working out. I started with your monthly workout plans and did them for a few weeks and then I started to go to the gym and doing a few of your exercises from your 90 days challenge. And again for the first time in my life I did like a gym plan where I have chosen exercises that I want to get better in.
Im not a fitness newby, I did other workout challenges and I had times where I went to the gym regularly, but I never stayed consistent. I thought I am just not one of these girls or I am just not a consistent person and especially I thought I don’t look like someone who is into fitness, you know?
But with your workouts and your journey right now I realized that it doesn’t matter if you never went to the gym before or if you are a fitness trainer, we all started from a point where we wanted to get better and stronger, from a point where we wanted to proof that we actually can do better.
I always saw fitness as something that hurts or is hard and it’s true if you exercise it burns and it’s exhausting but when I think to myself ‘ahh it’s too hard i’d rather just chill at home’, I think of you. Your goals are way bigger then mine but you keep it going, so can I.
It’s really not fair to see people disrespecting your work and I know that some words cut deeper than we like to admit but I just hope that you never forget that you are inspiring so many people and giving them the strength they need to get to their goals. I just wanted to give you back a small piece of the motivation and energy you give to me.
I wish you the best for the last 30 days of your challenge and hope that you have a great day and a great workout ^^.

    1. Cassey says:

Thank u so much for this comment! This is why this community is so special to me – we support motivate each other! And remember, any goal that is important to u is BIG! ❤️

  34. Anne says:

Sorry to hear about the negativity from people – people’s comments on your life is one of the biggest reasons I don’t think I could cut it as a blogger, it seems exhausting. Completely understandable if you keep the final 30 days to yourself! I’ve enjoyed reading your journey (as I have ever since you started these challenges), but I’m rooting for you no matter what you do <3

    1. Cassey says:

      ❤️

  35. Lisa says:

Hi Cassey. I want to congratulate you for taking this journey to build muscle. You motivated me during France’s first confinement to move my body and since November last year I decide to move more towards bodybuilding. I understand that you have been getting a lot of hate during your journey but I also see that you have received a lot of constructive criticism (which in my opinion sometimes you perceive as hate -which is normal). I just want to say as someone who has been learning how to build muscle (I am very lean and have spent my life hearing that I should “eat a sandwich »), congratulations for taking this journey. I wanna encourage you to check out some other YouTubers channels (like misfitandnerdy or Abby Pollock or Jeff Nippard’s), it’s a difficult journey to build muscle and it’s one where knowledge is key to success and we are all here to learn from each other. I also want to point out from my knowledge and experience that indeed you have gained muscle (for sure you have since you have been lifting heavier) but the fact that your weight hasn’t increased significantly week to week AND that you feel emotionally drained (are you sleeping well by any chance ?) definitely means that you are overtraining (your body can’t keep up with your program). You should definetly check out missfitandnerdy, she’s got some nice explanations for what is overtraining and what you should do. And Jeff Nippard has some nice recommendations about it too. Anyway, just sending you some love and gently reminding you that you have nothing to prove in my opinion and you don’t HAVE to have the most amazing results on your journey (slow and steady wins the race). Best of luck.

    1. Lisa says:

P.S. I think it’s absolutely ridiculous that people are saying you drank water to change the Dexa scan results. Water retention after strenuous physical activity is normal, the same happens for everybody. It is a NORMAL physiological reaction (you use up all your glycogen, your body tries to replenish your stocks, you retain water, there’s also inflammation…)

  36. Jen says:

For toughening up here’s a brilliant piece of advice my mum gave me… ‘Those I love, love me’
If those we love & admire & really want to have in our lives love us back then we’re doing something right. Other people why would we have them admire/validate us if we don’t necessarily align with their values. Being respected by those WE respect is all we really need to be on the path we currently want to be on.

  37. Kara says:

So so so proud of you and how hard you’re working! I know it can be so painful to read comments, etc. But I just wanted you to know there’s at least one more person out there supporting your journey!

    1. Cassey says:

      Thank u! ❤️

  38. sneha says:

hi cassey!! please do not stop posting your workouts and meal plans. i am a 17 year old who loves to follow your workouts esp. i have gotten so much more bolder and cofident in my body bc of ur workouts!! keep up the good work! and focus on the ones who really care and benefit from ur work!

  39. Robin says:

Cassey- like I’m sure so many others have already said, your progress is amazing and you are an inspiration for so many women. I’m part of the Facebook poster group and it’s such an encouraging, positive groups that freaking loves you. I actually just saw a YouTube video by some random bro who evidently makes his living by criticizing other people on YouTube (ok analyzing the pros and cons of fitness influencers he said). I watched it and was like whatever man I will continue to follow Cassey despite anything you say. I honestly can’t believe how visible you are online and I can’t imagine what that’s like. It seems to me though that with anything online there are gonna be haters, and you’ve been doing this for so long. Have the haters stopped your community from growing? Have they slowed down the growth of popflex and the target lines? Have they stopped you from making quality workout videos that have helped tons of people? The answer is of course no. Deleting a thick enough skin to weather all the comments is super hard, but I wish you could brush them off like the queen you are! You have everything and you are literally living your truth! That’s worth all the gratitude and is the dream right? Anyway, that’s my long winded way of saying that your community is totally behind you, so take heart in the support ❤️

Sorry for all the typos 😳 *developing a thick skin

    2. Cassey says:

Yes! Thank u for the reminder not to let a little negativity overshadow all of the amazing growth and exciting things happening!

  40. Chi V. says:

Way to go, Cassey! I’m sorry to hear of your emotional exhaustion from reading all the feedback from haters and naysayers. It’s completely understandable, and I think many people who are online content creators of some sort will empathize with you, newbies and seasoned veterans alike. I wish there were a way to filter comments for just the positive or negative ones, so you don’t have to worry about ignoring what the haters say (and can look at the negative feedback if and when you’re ready to sift for useful constructive criticism, in case that exists). I think you’re a great and inspiring influence, Cassey. I hope at the end of this 90 day journey, you’ll come out of it just as happy and confident as you did with the first time around. Rooting for you every step of the way!

  41. Lea says:

Those Reddit forums you mention are full of toxic, negative, jealous, unhappy people, do not pay attention to them. All that negative criticism is what they attract to their life, that’s why they are so unhappy. You are doing things right and for you. Also I do not like when people do thin-shamming. Like when they say you look more healthy now than before. You are healthy now and so you were before. You have a small frame, so you naturally will be thinner than others. Anyway just keep doing what you are good at, inspiring. Btw I want to see the before and after pictures.

  42. Evelyn says:

Cassey, your journey and blogs are so open and honest – I thoroughly enjoy reading them and following your transformation. It is as you say, your body, your journey and how you set your mind and body to your goals is admirable. There are few people who would be so open and honest on the internet and that is why the haters attack you. They cant stand to see you doing so well when they themselves don’t know how to.
My recommendation if you’re interested (and I’m not sure if you do this already), is to incorporate into your day a 10min meditation. Deepak Chopra is a wonderful teacher and as someone who can’t sit still for long, I found that not only did his lessons work for me, but they taught me many ways to release the toxicity from my body and manage the negativity from others. It is not hardening yourself, its a way to let the hate from others bounce off of you while you remain positive, energetic, focused and ready to tackle the next opportunity that comes your way.

    Keep being you x

  43. The people who are leaving the hateful comments are jealous and insecure about themselves. Don’t listen to them. You are an amazing person. You have helped so many people out. I love your content!

  44. Emi says:

For learning to have a thicker skin
    ..
Maybe learn about and study the ennneagram. It’s an ancient spiritual schema that teaches us about ourselves. It does have some roots in ancient Christian mysticism, but not exclusively, and you certainly don’t need to be a part of the Christian tradition to use or benefit from it.
Will it grow you thicker skin? Probably not. But it will help you understand what your motivations are, and why you react how you react. It gives you knowledge and tools to build up your internal muscles – all the nonphysical/spiritual/mental/emotional things that are important for true strength.

  45. Rosalie says:

Cassey, you look amazing! I can definitely see all the hard work you out in! I’m sorry that people are garbage and that they are getting you down. It’s hard to not let hurtful comments get to you, I think it’s okay to feel hurt though, it’s helpful for me if I try to look at them with compassion and love(it’s hard sometimes though!!), To see that they are the ones hurting and hating themselves. It doesn’t excuse their poor attitude though. Keep sticking to your Truth. Keep right for yourself. Keep loving yourself and working hard. There are so many people here that are inspired by you! Know that you are loved and supported!!

  46. Stephanie says:

Hi, I’ve been following you for a long time and I have always belived that you can accomplish anything you set your mind to. Wonder why I know this? Becaus that’s what you’ve made me be able to do. Sure, I struggle, but so does everyone. Concerning all those opinionated people out there, what gives them the right to treat you that way? Nothing. They have no fucking right, they are most likely jealous for not measuring up to anything you do. Because you are an amazing woman and deserve all your accomplishments. You really are an inspiration to us all, and I’ll tell you something my mom always said to me when I encountered bullies: “Just ignore those who are mean.” I know, easier said than done, right? However, if you just stop focusing, for a day, then another, then another, you will eventually break the cycle of letting the small trolls out there affect you and then maybe one day see yourself as myself and other women see you – for the wonderful person that you are. Please be the best you, and don’t let the trolls out there get to you. You are so much better than them.

  47. Patricia says:

Well done Cassie! You are strong and you can do this!!! Ignore the haters, you are doing this for you and that is what matters the most! You inspire me to be the strongest I have ever been and I am sure I am not the only one who thinks this!! Lots of love xxx

  48. Courtney Marsteller says:

You do know your truth! And really the negative nancy’s are so disappointed in their own life, that unfortunately they are taking it out on you, because they can. Because they are hiding behind their screens and are confortosaying things they would never say to someone’s face. You sharing your story has inspired me multiple times, I’m seeing muscle gain because I’m eating more protein, I have more confidence because I love my body. You’re an inspiration Cassey, and I hope that’s what you can focus on!

  49. Kayleigh says:

    Casey,
I’ve been obsessed with blogilates for years and reading this post I had to let you know how you changed my life. I haven’t been working out in a while but this is the type of 90 day challenge I need to try. I don’t have a lot of friends because people can be mean but it’s okay not to have negativity in your life. I couldn’t imagine the hurtful comments that you have received but I hope you have comfort from knowing what you have accomplished is inspiring and I’m grateful you let us take part in it!!

    1. Cassey says:

Thank you! This community is seriously everything.

  50. Jenny says:

I think it’s good that you haven’t developed a “thick skin”, and I would hate for you to harden your heart because people are using your journey for attention or personal gain. You have such a wonderful and full personality, and I love who you are and watching your journey! Also, you have the most creative and entertaining YouTube shorts that I have ever seen! Congratulations on your muscle gain!!! That must be SUCH an encouragement after all of the work you’ve been putting in! Please don’t stop sharing and creating! And don’t feel pressured to only put out content that will be perfect in everyone’s eyes. You’re allowed to make mistakes! When we do make mistakes, we shouldn’t let other people make those mistakes a definition of who we are. We should be allowed to learn and grow daily, and given the space to have our own voice and creative expression.

Peace and Hope on your journey!

  51. Ellie says:

Congrats on your progress, Cassey! It’s so cool to see the dexa results. Way to go on the lean tissue gains!

I wish you didn’t have to deal with the hateful comments. I don’t get why people want to be so negative and mean. I feel like it’s hard to not let comments get to us because we all naturally care about what other people think and want the approval and sense of belonging that comes with that. For me I think the hardest part is, if I develop a thick enough skin to allow me to not care about the negative comments, will that somehow also make me less sensitive to the positive? I don’t know. I wish I did have a solution. The best I can offer is a reminder that the hate is not really about you. It’s about those people giving the hate. They’re doing it because of something lacking inside of them, not because of something lacking in you.

I’m so excited for your next thirty days, whether you decide to share that with us or not. I know you will be killing it like you always do!

  52. Milla says:

You are so Brave to Have embarked on this journey, and i wish i would Have a way to tell you that would help you ingore The mean bullies that web is full of. But i don’t Have such advice so i can only wish you strenght to keep on going and not giving to them.
Myself, i used to write fanfictions nyt i Have pretty much quit that because people were being Horrible about My use, or lack, of commas. Not native english speaking person, dunno The rules well enough.
But Back to you. I believe in your workouts. They Have gotten me to really enjoy working out with their toughness and Even If i don’t see results, i feel them. And They Have also given me confidence in other areas of Life, because If i can get through your workouts, i can survive meetings with people and going out of My comfort zone and try new things.
You are amazing, i am so glad i Have found you and i am so proud of you.

    1. Maria K. says:

Unrelated to Cassey’s post, but I just wanted to say, Milla, that I’m sorry people were so hateful to you for your lack of commas! Making fun of your English is absolutely not constructive criticism. I haven’t written fanfiction in years now, but 20 years ago, it was incredibly common for a reviewer or fellow author to kindly ask you if you need any help, Iike, I’ve had a good friend be my beta-reader and editor for me twice on an old story, and I have done it for another 2 authors on separate occasions as well aftering offering up the idea in a review. Do people NOT do this anymore!? D: It used to feel like such a community effort over at Fanfiction. Net back then. Keep writing your stories and don’t give up if it brings you happiness! Maybe just post your stories elsewhere if your current place has turned into a gathering of buttholes. Stay strong! There is nothing wrong with your English, by the way, I can understand you perfectly!

    2. Cassey says:

Thank u!!! This comment means so much. And please don’t quit writing if it’s what you love!

  53. Ryan Snyder says:

Very interesting! Keep on your journey for you! Thanks for sharing .
