Fabulous Ruffle Coats

Fabulous Ruffle Coats

So I kind of went on an Anthropologie rampage the past couple of days. It’s bad, I know! But I have this new philosophy that if I were to buy anything, it better be something I will LOVE forever. Something that will make me smile and make me feel good every single time I put it on, even if it is not on sale (gasp!). This is a big step for a girl who used to swear by clearance racks. So vain, but so true… clothes bring me happiness! Okay, I said it. Moving on.

My treasure hunting at Anthro left me with some ruffly findings that inspired me to write this post about all things pretty and prim. A comprehensive google image search for “ruffle coats” turned up a whole slew of beauties. Ready to see what I found?

Ahh this one is so glam and queen-worthy. Loving the height of the collar and how the ruffles cascade down the front. Absolutely gorgeous. Michelle William models this couture jacket, designer unknown.

Looks like a Gossip Girl closet staple. I love the empire waist and generous fabric in the skirt. This coat is all sold out online in cream and in black. So so sad. Ruffle Cream Coat by Kelly Ewing.

This is truly a work of art. I can only imagine how this would look on – the cinching at the waist paired with the exaggerated, asymmetrical collar could make anyone look like they just walked out of a Vogue photoshoot. Pleated Ruffle Coat by Diana Bobar.

This is one of my all-time favorites. Just look at that bustle of ruffles underneath Beyonce’s trench! This is love at first sight. Too bad the price tag is $1,434. But at least it is available for purchase. Ruffle Hem Trench Coat by Jillian Lewis.

Wowwwww. This is like a dress. I love the skirt. Love it! Coat by Gryphon. Can’t find it for sale online anymore but here is the link to the blog where I found the photos of this Jillian Lewis-esque coat.

And now for some purchasable items! Not as architecturally amazing, but hey, at least there is a link and a price. These things are tangible! Loving the sweet baby doll look. Great over a nice pair of jeans or leggings. Wool Blend Ruffle Coat by Plastic Island, $154.

More of an evening dressy coat. Price tag not so bad actually. Shimmer Ruffle Coat by Samuel Dong, $164.

And now, my turn. Here are my beloved findings at Anthropologie this weekend.

Saw it in the Anthro catalog and decided immediately that I MUST HAVE IT. It is so lady-like yet funky and sexy all at the same time. This is the Terrace House Jacket in a delicious marigold color, $138. Looks great open or closed. Very regal. 3/4 sleeves make it a great transition to Autumn.

My latest find!!! I saw this coat a couple months ago and didn’t buy it because it seemed expensive at $188. There aren’t many left of this beauty, but if you visit a good number of Anthro’s (I fished around at 4 different ones) you may just be lucky enough to find it. The shell seems slick enough to be water resistant but still soft enough for flexibility. You can’t see the lining here, but it is so colorful and adorable – printed with the cutest forest animals I’ve ever seen inside a jacket! Zip front is detailed by a feminine ruffle trim. This is perfection in a trench. I LOVE IT!!!!

That is all! Hope you enjoyed by infatuation with ruffles and coats. How many times did I say ruffles in this post? Way too many apparently…

Back to reality now! Wearing my trench tomorrow. Not so bothered that it’s raining actually. See! Clothes can even change your mood about gloomy weather. Indeed. Clothes really do bring me happiness.
