WORKOUT DETAILS

Hey POPsters!!!!

I made a special back to school workout for those of you looking to get a quick calorie burn in while stuck in a tiny room with mean downstairs neighbors. Actually this works for anyone who lives in an apt!!! Try this out! You seriously will be sweating! I promise! Just grab some of your heavy textbooks. The song is “Like Money” by Wonder Girls feat. Akon.

Also, I wanna make the flash mob happen. Still not sure if it will be in LA or SF yet, but can you join the facebook group if you are interested in being part of it?

https://www.facebook.com/groups/307413356032757/

You can also invite your friends to join the group too! I will be posting exclusive private videos and instructions regarding costumes and meeting times etc. We need to kinda keep it on the down low though!!

I’m kinda thinking LA on Sat. Sept. 29th but that is totally tentative. Join the group and we can talk locations!

Anyway, it’s all up in the air!

Kay love you!

Cassey

But I can’t find it under POP Cardio?!

  4. Rachel says:

Cassie I love your videos!!!! As a college dorm resident I really appreciate apartment friendly videos. Please make more!!! Could the next one maybe have more variety like the other pop cardio vids? I tend to get bored when there is only one exercise.
    Thanks!

You’re a genius. I always feel bad when I do jumping jacks and mountain climbers. Do you have any more apartment friendly workouts?

    1. blogilates says:

i will be making more soon!

Thank you so much for the apartment friendly workout. I just moved into a new place right above my (retired, at home all day)landlord…and he’s already complained that I walk to loudly. No more at home workouts with jumping jacks, burpees or split lunges for me 🙁

Hey Cassey!! I just recently found your website and I LOVE it!! 😀 You have inspired me to begin my own weight loss journey! I have noticed that when doing workouts like this one ( with lots and lots of lunges) my kneecaps make a crackling like noise and they begin to hurt. Do you or any blogilates devotees 😀 have any advice on what to do? Thanks!!!

    1. Bronwyn says:

Sounds like you need to do some knee strengthening exercises!

I had knee problems for quite a while (thanks dancing/running). There are a bunch of exercises and stretches you can do with a resistance band (you can buy them at Sports Authority or places like that. Get a medium strength one). Start in a wall sit with your knees at a 90 degree angle. Wrap the band around your thighs right above the knees and tie it so you’re getting resistance. Begin to move your knees away from each other and then back to starting position.

Keep doing this as long as you can! Doing this each day will help strengthen your patella tendons which help keep your kneecaps in place and your knees strong!

What warm-up or stretches should I do before doing this workout? I’m going to use my physics book when I do this.

  9. Emily says:

Hey Cassey! Love this workout! I used my anatomy textbook haha. Is this workout on weighttraining.com so we know how many calories we burn?

Loved this one Cassey! I did this at my boyfriend’s house, since I don’t have Internet in my apartment..broke college student!

But the great thing about this is that you don’t even need the video to do this, just put on some music and get books and lunge it out!! Thanks Cass 🙂

  13. sherry says:

CASSEY U ROCK! and you make my day so much cheerier everytime I watch one of your vids!

    1. blogilates says:

  14. Victoria says:

Hey Cassey, I love your videos! But with the school year starting up I’m back to dorm life. I want to continue doing your videos, but I am scared of making too much noise for the people who live under me. Could you make more “apartment-friendly” videos?!?

    1. C. says:

      hey victoria
what about adapting the regular hiit/cardio videos to make them more apartment friendly? 🙂
here’s what i do when i’m working out really early in the morning – like at 5am..:

      – i do the workout w/o shoes, i.e. barefooted (this is NOT a good idea though if you have problems w/ your feet or knees as you won’t have any cushioning!)
      – do tuck jumps on a (folded) blanked (be careful though when you’re landing, it might be slippery!)
      – do star squats instead of tuck jumps. they’re just as hard if you do them quickly enough, but they’re a lot more quiet (and easier on the knees too)

      etc etc.
just play with the moves a bit. the workouts aren’t written in stone 🙂 and as long as you sub a move that is just as hard as the original one, you’ll still get the same great workout out of it 🙂

      hope this works! 🙂

OMG, thanks like a milion time . It’s actually the first time ever that I’m moving in an apartment and I didn’t want to stop watching you because there is a 80 years couple downstairs ! 🙂 I love you so much Cassey . You are my fitness inspiration . So thank you again from Québec city ! 😀

  16. Ludmila says:

    Hey Cassey!
I love love love your videos! you are such an inspiration and you always make me WANT to work out! I have (minor) knee problems and it always burns like crazy (just above the knee) when I do lunges/squats. Do you have any tips on easy/beginner exercises to strengthen these muscles first? I do live in an apartment so it’s really important to be able to use this video (my downstairs neighbors have small kids so I don’t want to make too much noise) Thanks! <3

    1. blogilates says:

eek that’s tough…i’d ice, heat, and wrap them. but if it hurts you gotta avoid it sometimes. you can still get a cardio workout through throwing punches and doing kettlebells.

    2. Jodie says:

Make sure you’re stretching your quads really well. Sounds like a tight quad pulling on the tendon above your knee…
