Love those special k bars? (Especially Red Berries kind, OMG.) Here’s a much better twist to the expensive bars that are just as delicious but are much better for you because of the protein content. Try it!

– 1/4 cup egg whites

– 4oz fat free cottage cheese

– 1 scoop vanilla protein powder

– 1 tsp vanilla 1 tsp of baking powder

– cinnamon to taste

– stevia to taste

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350.

2. Mix all ingredents together, will have a thick consistency, either scoop onto cookie sheet to form cookies or spread in a baking dish to make bars.

3. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes. Insert toothpick to determine if done.

Does it make a difference if you use the special K red berries or do you need to use the original ?

is it possible to make it without cottage cheese or cheese at all?

    • Sofia says:

I made mine without it because I forgot to buy it hahah. They turned out fine! They’re definitely spongey, like other people have mentioned so I’m going to play around with it today and see what happens if I don’t put baking powder. Maybe they’ll turn out like rocks haha

Heyy, instead of special k, can I use rice krispy cereal? I do not have time to go buy special k because I have to go to work, and I am making snacks from here, so that I wont starve to death. 11:30 to 5:30 with no food is not healthy, so I decided to make healthy food from here. I just don’t know if rice krispy cereal is healthy or not.

I made these and just spooned them out onto a baking sheet. Came out spongey. Doesn’t taste bad, I might even get my boyfriend to eat these.

Stevia to taste…does it matter whether I use liquid or powder for this recipe?
And for those who don’t have stevia, could white or brown sugar or agave be used as a substitute?

Can you make a food bites video on this please? :)

o: I just made mine. Mine had more of a spongy texture, but I’m going to try to make them again next week!
