Fitness, Food, & POP PIlates
My issue is none of the actually symptoms of my period. Mine is extreme fatigue. Cassie, could I stay motivated when feeling so tired?
i always have less pain wen i work out on my period so i like to work out on my period.
Can caffeine help me lose weight?
No. There’s no magic pill, food or drink to help you lose weight. The only thing that works is eating healthy and exercising.
I’ve trained with you since January and I really see the results :D but I have one question: it’s better to workout the hole body everyday like doing workout for abs then for legs, arms itp or it’ s better to do everyday another part of body like on monday abs on tuesday legs itp. and it’s good that I connect workout from pop pilates with HIIT workout like doing pop pilates for legs then HIIT then pop pilates for abs and so one and so one ? I really looking for losing weight ;) Greetings from Poland ♥

Do you have any advice for eating clean and staying motivated to change your eating habits? The problem I keep running into is I LOVE sweets. I recently found a recipe for overnight oatmeal (I was trying to find a way to make something yummy, healthy, and available in the mornings without much effort) and it was AMAZING! Here is the link: http://www.theyummylife.com/Slow_Cooker_Apple_Cinnamon_Oatmeal. Thanks, Cassey!
So basically I hate veggies (except mushrooms, onions, tomatoes, and peppers), rice, and whole wheat bread. So picky, I’m like a five year old lol! So how can I eat “clean”? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!
Great video! Anyway my question… I have achellies tendinitis and I wanted to know if there were any “easy” workouts to do while I’m recovering? Thanks!
I have to avoid various foods when I am on my period. I don’t anything acidic bc i find that it makes the flow more frequent. Also, I won’t eat any mango, pineapple, avocado, egg, rice, sweet potato(or any of the foods from that fam) watermelon. My mother and sister do the same. We find that these foods affect us,such as cause bloat or heavier flow. Does anybody not eat these foods aswell while on their period?
My name is never spelled correctly. Its always spelled with a ‘ph’ or with an” f’ and being called sofhie is fine but sometimes I prefer Sofhia bc it sounds a little more grown up. Ya know? :)
Great video Cassey! I have a question for you. If a person is recovering from laparoscopic surgery, what exercise you recommend they start with once they get their doctor’s okay? In my case, I had an ovary removed and cannot workout for another 4 weeks. I’m a little anxious about how to return to my workout routine. Any help would be appreciated.
When it is that time of the month I personally workout more, exercise releases natural pain killers! So just for those of you that have terrible cramps as I do, it really helps to push yourself in a workout during your menstrual period! ;)
This “Ask Cassey” session was so funny (“Tell me in the comments if you use pads or tampons”) and adorable (on the “Cassey” anecdote). :) Your blog is awesome! Thanks so much for your videos. <3
This is so timely since right now I feel like a marshmallow from all of the bloating and overall muscle aches and tenderness that comes with my period! I still go hard, and I absolutely hate it and would much rather be curled up on the couch watching trashy television. But rewarding myself after a workout with a square of dark chocolate – for that magnesium boost – makes things feel a little better. It’s more a mental game than anything, you just have to remember that feeling terrible only lasts a few days at most, but skipping workouts won’t be rewarding in the long run.
I do work out when on my period, but I definitely give myself more “get out of jail free” passes.
I’ve been taking fish oil capsules since January and have noticed a HUGE difference in terms of PMS, cramps, bloating and period pain. It’s like a miracle. Of course it might not work for everyone, but it totally worked for me and anyway fish oil is good for your skin and mood, too…
Before I started being consistent in working out, cramps would hurt a lot, especially the first day. I’d drink a special tea just to relieve the pain. Now that I’m consistent (3-5 days a week), even if it’s the first day, I don’t feel any pain, and it actually reduces the flow.
I don’t change my workout either, but I do get really bad cramps, which makes me push through my workout harder. I read that a woman can take more pain when she is on her period.
As you can see, my name is spelled different than the usual and I have even family members who get it wrong. But anyways, I was always super offended when teachers got my name wrong. I mean, it’s just a spelling, so as I’ve gotten older it’s like, whatever, but they have it in the book so why be so careless?! Maybe names are a bit more sacred than one might think lol
has anyone tired “party in my pants” cloth pads? those are nice.
they are excellent indeed… but I just made my own at home :)
also in the realm of tmi: has anyone tried hard-core workouts with a diva cup? I’ve been considering the option but I’m a little freaked out about it…
Keti, as per your question regarding workouts and diva cups…
I have done many of Cassey’s pilates workouts and hard-core HIIT workouts with a diva cup. I will say that they are perfectly safe but they do take some getting use to. In your first couple of periods with a diva cup you may find that you’re experiencing a bit of leakage. This is simply a matter of learning how to place it correctly and just takes a bit of time to get use to (analogous to when you first learned how to use a pad or tampon). I have had great success with diva cups and working out. The first time I tried it, I had a bit of leakage but I soon learned and had no more problems after that. No extra hassle or any mess. Plus, it is nice to skip over the aisle at the store where tampons and pads are sold. I don’t even have to think about purchasing them. And diva cups can be left in longer than tampons. Of course, this is a personal choice on your part. I just wanted you to know that it can be done!
I have tried that, Keti, and it works better than any other protection I’ve tried, as it doesn’t leak AT-ALL.
Best investment I’ve made, as it’s perfect when traveling (as you don’t need to pack hundreds of tampons) and exercising!
I think this is an appropriate place to tell you that although your background is super cute (love the colors) it totally reminds me of a vagina!! every time!! Am I the only one? HA :)
Cassey I have the exact problem with people trying to say my name correctly, both first and last. I’ve never found my name on key chains at Disneyland as well haha:)
Question: My neck and shoulders tend to feel tight the next day from a workout. I do ballet and pilates and feel as though I’m using good form. Do you have any suggestions or tips? Thanks girl!
I also have had people butcher my name in countless ways! I’ve also never been able to find my name in keychain stands anywhere even the full version of my name is spelled differently :( Hooray for the uniqueness of our names, though!
Cassey you’re so lucky not to feel cramps! The first day of my periods is awful. It hurts a lot, I have no energy and I’m just feeling in a very lazy mood, so I really can’t work out. And I’m feeling sooo hungry, too! But this is just the first day and sometimes half the second day, after that I’m working out normally :)
I’m fortunate that I don’t get cramps, but can totally relate to the lazy mood, I get really bad lazy syndrome! I just want to sit and eat chocolate during my ‘time of the month’!
Cassey, my question for you is can you recommend any ways to reduce cellulite?
It’s probably not luck as much as living a healthy lifestyle, eating right every day, and sticking to a workout routine. All of that stuff helps ease period issues and if you did it as long and consistently as Cassey probably has then I bet you’d notice a difference in cramps and energy level. I get TERRIBLE cramps but whenever I eat super clean and work out through my period, all that stuff goes away.
this is so weird… im actually ON my period! coincedence :P
