Mother’s Day at Pamper Me Fabulous!

Mother’s Day at Pamper Me Fabulous!

Hey POPsters!!!

Sunday was spent at Pamper Me Fabulous in San Francisco at The Galleria. I was invited to teach 2 standing POP Pilates classes and I was super excited to be taking my mom with me because she rarely gets to see my do my thang. Well actually, I kinda take that back. I recently noticed that she started watching my YouTube videos and asking me why I don’t upload more often.

LOL.

And then the other day she said something along the lines of “Did you read that comment from so and so from the UK? You should really answer her soon or else she will be sad.”

Super LOL.

This is funny to me because I love how my mom is starting to undertand that I’m never going to have a “real job”. It’s extra funny because I remember back in the day HOW MUCH PRESSURE my parents put on me to become a doctor. My parents mean well though. Looking back, I can see that they just wanted me to be financially stable and happy, so they slammed that pressure on me to have a respectable job.

Now the tables have completely turned and my parents are watching YouTube and helping me film sometimes! My dad the other day asked if he could submit a guest post on here…

MAJOR LOL.

My dad is funny like that.

Anyway!!!! Back to Pamper Me Fabulous. So my mom and I pulled up to the Galleria and it wasn’t until I stepped inside that a rushing flush of memories ran through me. I was taken back to 2007. I was a Junior in college, struggling with my love for fashion and my parents’ demands for me to pursue med school. So what’s Cassey to do? Get a fashion internship of course and then eventually have one of her designs end up on the runway at San Francisco Fashion Week…which also happened to be held at the Galleria!

That’s right POPsters. I had ALWAYS wanted to be an dress designer since I was a wee little child. Above was my take on Coco Chanel’s classic Little Black Dress. Designers in the show were asked to recreate a modern version of what we thought should be the new LBD. Madarin collar, illusion mesh sleeves, a deep V neck, and you can’t tell but she’s actually wearing matching lacey sequined booty shorts underneath. I guess my booty short obsession goes way back.

You can read more about that whole experience here on my college’s website if you’re interested.

Anyway, I then quickly transported my mind back to present reality because class was about to start! BA-BAM!!! We started with Call Me Maybe squats and then did a ton of POP Pilates moves that didn’t require a mat!

BOOTAYYYY!!!

Here we are doing plank with straight leg butt pulse.

And you might recognize this one from the Saddlebag Shaver routine for obliques and outer thighs!

Class was super high energy and I had a blast!!!!!  I try to tell you guys how much I love teaching but I don’t think you will ever understand. It really gives me a natural high and I am just soooooo happy after every session. It seriously makes life worth living x 80 billion to the power of 400 trillion. Hmm…I need to find a better way to explain my love for teaching. That makes no sense!

I got to meet some of our Bay Area POPsters and take tons of pics! Here’s Nescett from the Banana Oats Blog! I wasn’t surprised that she was a fitness blogger though because when I looked over to check her form, it was spot on, and she was decked out in Lululemon. Hehehehehe. So easy to spot “my kind.”

Took some time afterwards to answer questions and talk. This part of teaching is so valuable to me too because this is when you really get to get up close and personal and get to know your students. Usually I hear tons of diet and weight loss questions which I am always so happy and ready to answer!

Hmmm….unfortunately I didn’t get a decent picture of me and the 2 masterminds behind Pamper Me Fabulous! But you know what? I find this candid shot to be quite beautiful. After working with some photographers and my new video guy, I am starting to appreciate being less posed and more in the moment.

We ended the day with some silly photobooth pics (see above) and shopping. It was really nice to spend time with my mom because life has been so outrageously hectic these past couple months that I haven’t really had time to sit down and just BE with her.

My mom has always been so supportive of everything that I do and I just wanna take this moment on the blog to tell everyone how much I appreciate and love her!!! Thank you mommy for giving me life and for being my #1 biggest Blogilates fan. How do I know this? Ahem…I can hear you when you talk to grandma and try to explain to her what exactly it is that I do…

Much love everyone and hope you had a FABULOUS Mother’s Day!

<3 Cassey

  5. Howdy! This is kind of off topic but I need some advice from an established blog.
Is it very difficult to set up your own blog? I’m not very techincal but I can figure things out
pretty quick. I’m thinking about making my own but
I’m not sure where to start. Do you have any ideas or suggestions?

I love how you say, “my mom is starting to undertand that I’m never going to have a “real job”.” — this cracks me up! I feel the same way. I was always on the path toward a stable, “respectable” career, but was it because I wanted to (no) or because my FAMILY wanted me to (yes!)??!

Now that I’m pursuing my fitness biz dreams, times can be rocky and the future can be scary, but at least I’m doing what I was born to do.

Rock on, Cassie. I emailed you a while back and I haven’t heard from you… I know you’re busy but perhaps you could find a few minutes to answer my questions (or I’ll write to you again)…

  14. Susan says:

Hi Cassey,i know you have lots and lots of comments but please could you get back to me??I’ve been doing your pilates vidoes for over a year, and before i have been going to the gym and stuff still got lots of weigh to lose but this is not what i wanted to ask you. I am changing colleges now(I’m from UK) and i am thinking of doing Physical Education because i dont know what i wanna do in the future and now i got this brilliant idea of becoming a fitness instructer in the gym! Because i love love working outbut did you go to Uni before u became fitness instructer??what education do i have to get?please helo me,maybe i’m not going to be goot at it?How did u start??BTW I love love love You! you are my inspiration seriously! <3 <3

    1. blogilates says:

It’s hard being a full time fitness instructor. You should do it as a side job first. It can also be very physically demanding!!! So keep going to school. I would get educated in nutrition too so you become well rounded as a health coach. You can get certified at any point in your life! I don’t know what the cert programs are like in the UK but ACE and AFAA are big over here.

  17. Tracey says:

Sounds like you had a fabulous Mother’s Day! I totally understand what you mean about describing the feeling of teaching class. I am a gymnastics coach and although working with children can be tiring, the greatest feeling is seeing a child master the skill or are smiling and happy just learning how to do gymnastics!

  18. Awww look that’s me up there!! It was so great to meet you! I can totally tell how much you love teaching. You were in your element up there and I was super impressed. You have so much going on and it must be so exciting for you!

    xoxoxox

  19. Aww look that’s me up there!!! I can totally tell you love teaching. You were completely in your element and I was super impressed girl! So great to meet you!

Awww, I love this post. I love the part about mom trying to explain your job to grandma. LOL! That cracks me up.

Let’s hear from your Dad. That’d be very cool.

  21. Tina says:

Cassey you look just like your mother!!!

  22. Howard Hsu says:

you resemble your Mommy so much ! BTW,your parents’ words made me laugh for a while. It is so sweet and LOL
The dress looks so glamorous ! It does have the Chanel’s style. I do love it ! I can’t believe my pilates instructor is so talented in many fields ! You make me want to push myself much higher now !
    <3 u 😀

      1. Howard Hsu says:

Yes,these days I have started read every your news even sometimes I don’t understand fully because I am from Mandarin-speaking country–Taiwan.I am also a bit surprised that you remember who I am. 😛

  23. Fitness Jess says:

    Hi Cassey,
I just wanted to say that I am so freaking amazed at far you’ve come
from being a bio major. I read the Whittier article about your designs and it blew me away how that one internship experience led you to learn so much about the fashion industry. I also remember reading your post about the start up process for Ogorgeous and thinking wow- this girl learned how to code html, designed her own logo and was basically her own mini Lululemon(but a lot better designs LOL).
In anycase you should be sooooo proud of yourself for everything that you’ve accomplished- and even more so, for following your fitness/fashion pursuits instead of following the med school path.

The only thing is that I think you’re receiving a lot less recognition than you deserve- I wanna see you get to the Lorna Jane level(amazing store) and pass beyond Lululemon, your clothes are worth it and your personality will take your brand to the next level. I wanna see more press giving you credit- that Beverly bowtie bag is a genius EVERY celebrity yogi should be sporting! So go get your name out there even more- people need to know more about BLOGILATES!!

    Best of luck!

    1. blogilates says:

Aww thanks Jess!!!! Well u kno I think it all comes with time and hard work. I’m just gonna keep doing what I love and putting my heart and best foot out there. And I guess we will see what happens 🙂

      1. Fitness Jess says:

        Thanks for the reply!
You are right- keep doing what you love and you’ll get to where you wanna be, but I’m still going to tell all my friends and gym-mates about how awesome your clothes and vids are! My word of mouth advertising hehe!

  24. Bianca says:

Cassie you were seriously born to teach! Your energy is unbelievable and super contagious!

  25. Saerah Suyasa says:

and oh my gosh yes to your dad guest posting!

  26. Patti says:

  27. Bindi says:

I would so read a guest post from your dad! So cute! 😀

I like the pictures of you and your mom, so nice you got to spend some time together. Aww, i will have to take care of my mom more when she comes over here next time….

  28. What a fun day! And I agree… love that LBD.

  29. Lea says:

Cassey’s mom (I know you’re reading this) – now I can see whom after Cassey took her beauty! 🙂

  30. Liz says:

So glad that the tables have turned and your parents are more supportive – that’s awesome!

I used to be a fashion major in college – reading what you wrote about your experience with a fashion internship, I can definitely relate. Incredible dress there!

The class looks like a major success, as usual. Hope to take one of your classes in the near future 🙂

  31. Kat says:
