Speaking of holidays I went on a Trader Joes shopping spree yesterday and spent about $43 (usually my bill is $25) and am about to film a food haul! I haven't bought this much in a while! I ended up buying cool new things to try.
Also, there's a mini announcement I've been meaning to make. It's kind of big news and I need to tell you - hope you won't be upset!
I have decided to delay my bikini comp for a bit. I don't think I can hit January hard the way I wanted it to. There are a few things going on in my personal and professional life that need attention and I was starting to get super crazy stressed out with the contest date shouting at me.
The competition should be something fun to train for. I was finding myself literally LOOKING to find time to sleep and my trainer was telling me that sleep was just as important as the dieting and the exercising. It was a hard decision to make because I've wanted to do this Jan comp since last year but it looks like I need to pick a date a couple months after that or something. Yea, I'm pretty sad but what's the point of competing if I can't reach my peak level, do better than last time, and not have fun while training <-- it's about the journey. And I wanna enjoy the journey and if I can't at the least do that, I need to step back and analyze the situation.
It's kinda hard for me to tell you guys because I feel like I am letting you down. But I hope not because I want you to know that in life, decisions have to be made, and priorities have to be set. Originally I said the comp was a bday present to myself. It's ok, I can have my bday present in Feb or March. No biggie.
Either way, still eating as clean as possible but not sticking 100% to my bikini diet plan that I wrote out. Right now I will focus on mass building so that when I begin to lean out you'll see more defined musculature.
So yeah - there it is! I've been sitting on this decision for a few weeks now.
I feel relieved actually...which is a good sign that I delayed the comp.
Well! Fun things ahead for the Blogilates Community, more great vids, and lots of other stuff I can't really tell you about right now! But I'm working hard like a crazy person and I'm loving every second of it. Hope your weekend is off to a beautiful start! I've been out in the sun a lot more and got a pretty nice tan! I also kinda got rid of a weird sports bra tan that's been tattoo'd on my back for over a month! Haha. Also...remember how I was telling you about the epic 12 Week New Body Makeover Meal Plan I was prepping for you guys? Well it's getting closer and closer to the release date as I work with the certified nutritionists over at WeightTraining.com to bring you a well-balanced and optimally planned program to help you reach your best fitness goals in 12 weeks.
Why 12 weeks? That is about how long it takes to completely transform your body. I mean, completely. You will look and feel like a whole different human being. A lot of the work is in the exercise, but even more of it is in the diet. That's why you'll notice that if you are working out a lot and not losing weight...well, you should probably check the food you're eating.

A lot of people will say "Yes yes I eat very clean!" But most of the time that is not the case. That or they don't know how much they are eating. You'd be surprised at how quickly calories can add up which totally sabotages your diet. And...it's not just about calories! NOPE.
A calorie is not a calorie is not a calorie.
If you ate white bread for 12 weeks and stayed under 1000 calories everyday versus eating lean protein and veggies at about 1800-2000 calories a day, your body would look sooooooo different!
Thin with very little energy on the bread diet...muscular, strong, and full of energy on the clean eating diet.
Bread is made of carbs which is not bad if you use that energy right away. (That's why runners "carb up" right before a race.) But most people don't use all of it and it ends up being stored as fat...quickly. That's why people say carbs make you fat.
So why doesn't more calories from protein make you "fat"? Because protein is actually the building block of muscle!! As long as you're working out with weight (body weight counts too as in with Pilates) then you are fueling your body with what it needs to get stronger! It is important to note that you need a good balance of carbs, fats, and protein to function optimally as a human being so don't disregard any of these macronutrients. None is really superior to the other. You need all - just in the right portions.
What you eat and when you eat in relation to when you work out is super crucial. Like a workout plan, it is important to make sure you change up the food once in a while so you can stay happy and healthy mentally and physically. Sure chicken and broccoli will help you lose weight quickly, but don't tell me that anyone is happy doing that 24/7. There are many other ways to get lean without boring your taste palette. There's a whole world of natural goodness out there!!
So that's why I spent a lot of time developing this 12 Week New Body Makeover Meal Plan with certified nutritionists. We designed it to make it easy for you to transition into clean eating in Phase 1. The second and third phases will help your body to continue leaning out while still providing food variety and all the nourishment you will need to get through your workouts.
You will be eating 5x a day to keep your metabolism revved up! Do not worry. You will not be hungry. You will probably be eating more than you have (volume wise), feeling full, and feeling awesome. I'm sorry I haven't been blogging as much. Last week was so intense because I was filming and traveling all over the place last minute! I was filming several Cooking Clean with Quest episodes (can't wait to show you the new recipes) and look who stopped by!

Anyway, after a long day of filming, I finished around 7pm, then went home to pack like a mad woman, then I ran to LAX and hopped on my red eye flight to NYC! Why!? Because...if you heard the news...I was asked to be on Dr. Oz to show him how to do POP Pilates!!! OMG!!! Can you say life dream accomplished!?? After several hours of tossing and turning on the plane, I finally arrived in the city in the morning only to head straight to ABC studios! It was so insane. All I wanted was to not have dark circles and to not randomly pass out in my dressing room. Thank goodness my excitement fueled me through rehearsals and the actual recording!
I want to thank my POPsters who came out to be on the show with me! You guys added so much life to the workout. I will let you know when the episode airs so we can all scream and die together. It was so amazing!! I am so glad you guys are always here to experience these once-in-a-lifetime things with me.
So anyway...after the recording, it was like 6pm and I was hungry, tired, and in need of some comfort. I knew exactly where I had to go. It was about 1 year ago during the NYC Meetup that I discovered this placed called Cocoron in NYC that had THE BEST hot soba soup I've ever tasted...and I've been waiting 1 year to come back and have it again :) So here's a peek at what I ordered this time...simply to die for. It was the perfect way to end my day.
Flew back the following day and couldn't even sleep on the plane ride back. I was still too excited. I watched so many movies that my brain turned into fluff. If you watch the 5 Best Ab Exercises video I just uploaded, you may be surprised (or appalled) at what I thought of a probably well-loved movie! (Sorry in advance.)
I arrived late at night then woke up the next day for another full day shoot with Quest for my cooking show. And I don't need to go into too much detail because I will be sharing the recipes soon...but I do need to show you my hair:

Yup so that was Friday! And then the weekend couldn't come soon enough. I was so ready to take a huge weekend slumber sesh but then my best friend from college surprised me with a visit! HAHA! The fun never stops. But very fortunate to have friends nonetheless :)
So anyway, it's Monday now and I don't think you'd be surprised to find that I randomly crashed on the couch for 40 min because I couldn't handle being awake any longer! Remember to sleep guys! The 3 components for a healthy, happy, and fit life are:
1. Clean Eating
I still need to work on #3! It's important to be aware of your strengths and weaknesses so that you can work on being better every day...better than you were yesterday. That is the key to growth. And trust me, you want to always be growing. It's the process of progression and of life.

On the website, I have uploaded the BONUS footage from my Target DVD on there - it's the 20 min POP Pilates for Beginners footage. If you're just starting out in Pilates, it is a fantastic video to watch as I really go through breathing, form, and technique. Click here to see the video.
All the videos on there are for rent or subscription kinda like a netflix for fitness. There are many options out there for getting your information and your instruction, so do your research, see what you like, what you can afford, find what suits you and keeps you coming back, and keep doing it! That will be the workout that will tone and sculpt you the fastest and most effectively.

Did you know that when you type in "thinspo" on Tumblr, this shows up?
Did you know that when you type in "thigh gap" on Pinterest, that this shows up?
I love the fact that these hugely influential social media sites noticed that there really is a rampant spread of unhealthy ED messages on their platforms and that they are actually stepping in to do something. I like that. When you have power, use it to do something good. Don't look blindly to one side and let it happen. Do something about it. Help people.
Now there's 2 sides to this:
1. Great! This will help young girls understand that having an ED is a problem and that they need to seek help.
2. These messages further alienate people with EDs, making them feel unwanted and ashamed of themselves.
I can see the argument on both sides, but I think the greater evil is not doing anything about it. So I applaud these companies.
I see a lot of girls and young women fall into the fitness-for-vanity trap or dieting-for-vanity trap. Their motivation is driven by a need to get thin to look like the models they see on covers and in the media. It's not their fault. It's just a misguided portrayal of beauty. A lot of these models are photoshopped so in some cases, these "coveted" body types are not even possible. It's the powerful influence of the fashion and beauty industry and our young women's impressionable views of body image.
Some people are born naturally thin. Some people have to work hard to achieve a certain body type. Some people will never be able to look thin because their bone structure and metabolism won't allow it. Thinness should not be the goal. The goal should be health, strength, love, and confidence.
1. Health - This is your wealth. Your life. Without this, you cannot do anything.
2. Strength - To be able to continuously grow every day and become a better person than you were yesterday. Become better and stronger to help move and lift others.
3. Love - Because what is a life without love and care for people or creatures who can love you back? Love yourself first and your body will listen (and love you back too!). Hate your body and it won't want to gain muscle or lose fat. It'll get stuck. It'll be stubborn. It'll rebel.
4. Confidence - Because believing in yourself will help you succeed. It starts from within and glows on your skin of PURE and REAL beauty.
Focus on bettering yourself every day and you will sculpt your body and your life to it's best potential. That's the key word...your own BEST POTENTIAL. Not someone else's. Yours.
Stop obsessing about thigh gaps and bigger boobs. Start loving yourself so that you can succeed at what you're meant to be #1 at.
We are all put on this earth to contribute something different and great to our society. You must look inside yourself, find your passion, and live it out!! You've got this one life...so do what you love!!

PS - You will notice that when you type "thigh gap" on Pinterest that my "How to Get an Inner Thigh Gap" printable will show up. That's something I made about 3 years ago when I first started blogging and when someone asked me how to tone their thighs and get a gap. I thought it was the new "How to get 6 pack abs" or "How to get rid of your muffin top" craze. Thigh Gaps weren't even "a thing" back then. So I made the printable for the people asking for it and well, now it's floating around the interwebs. Probably not the best titled printable, but the exercises are still a great way to tone your inner and outer thighs. So just wanted to put this message out there in case someone sees it and gets confused as to what my intentions are!

- 3 TBS nonfat Greek yogurt
- 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk

Today I got all glammed up for a magazine cover shoot and they put me in some super fashion-y gear! I was so afraid and so not sure if my face could handle the gold glitter makeup and if my body could pull off the crazy clothing combos. (I usually stick to browns and neutrals for my face.) Luckily though, the stylists and makeup artist were very very good at what they did. And you know what? I was pushed out of my boundaries and survived. But not only survived...I think I thrived!! I ended up getting comfortable with being uncomfortable and truly owned my look. Speaking of owning looks...I had to practice a lot of "serious face" poses. It was QUITE A CHALLENGE. Or should I say...I am quite CHALLENGED in serious face. Ha. But I think I did it! We will see I guess! I had so much fun at the shoot and cannot wait for you guys to see the final cover. Ab moves for the month:
Did you know 6 crunches equals one of these? Yup. Do them.
Bring your shoulder towards your knee, not your elbow. And be sure to lift your shoulder blades high off the mat!
The Double Leg Lift.
Press your heels together, press your lower back into the mat and lower your legs down and back up. Inhale as you go down and exhale when you go up.
Keeping your legs straight and your toes pointed, reach your fingers toward your ankles! Use your abs, not your neck!
The Reverse Crunch.
Cross your ankles and lift your bottom off the floor. Total core control here!

I am so excited to share this DVD with you because unlike my last one, this has 3 separate POP Pilates workouts. You can do them all together for a super intense 30 min session or you can break it up into three 10 minute routines when you don't have time.
I really appreciate you guys always showing your support by being a part of the Blogilates Community and by doing the workouts with me! As a thank you, I wanted to create a DVD for you that you could take anywhere - whether or not you have wifi and whether or not you're traveling or at home. These POP Pilates workouts will give you a quick and super intense burn. No weights, just you and your mat, and you will sculpt your best body while targeting all of your muscles. I'm addicted to this format, that's why I've been teaching it for almost 9 years now! I pulled all of my best ab exercises together and put it all in here for you. Here are the workouts in my new DVD:
1. Hard Core: If you want to tone and define your abdominals for a cute crop top, complete this routine to target your entire mid-section. You'll whittle your waist while flattening your abs.
3. Muffintop Melter: Love handles begone! Get that hourglass shape by doing these exercises to tighten your body's natural corset.
Oh and we filmed this on a pretty beach in Malibu, CA - so I hope you enjoy the scenery as we work out together. As always, I promise you a good time, much laughter, and much burn :)
I rarely ever take vacations but when I do, it has to be a tropical location! So this year we decided to go to Punta Cana and stayed at CHIC, an all-inclusive resort. It was my first time at an all inclusive...and let's just say that Cassey and never-ending food and drinks is an interesting combination of testing limits. Hahaha.
This was our view from breakfast every morning. How amazing is that!? Fountain, then pool, then beach! And no jackets! So cool. I don't have any pics of my food because I snapchatted all that already, so hopefully you were following along. (Find me "blogilates).
From the first day we got in til' the last day, I felt like it was one big spontaneous photoshoot! Everything was just too beautiful to let slip by!
Walking on the beach we found this hut. I mean, photo opp anyone!? Yes please! Plus I bought a TON of new bikinis to wear on this trip, so pics were a must. This red lace one is from Billabong.
As we continued walking we saw this fallen palm tree. So I planked on it. I mean, what else!!!??
Then there was this thing called the "Mermaid Pool" and it was photoshoot heaven. But it wasn't easy trying to be an underwater model. I struggled.
This was me trying "sexy face". Nope.
So after much trouble, I took some time to do research on underwater modeling. I found this amazing photo from America's Next Top Model:
I mean, wow right?!!!! So I was like, let me try...
Couldn't exactly get flipped over. Face still not sexy.
Got the body flipped over but hair was not being so friendly. So... after about 50+ shots, I could barely breathe anymore.
I decided that happily swimming mermaid was my look and I stuck with it :)
As far as all-inclusive drinks went, I had my fair share of sugary virgin pina colada's and strawberry daquiri's. I don't drink alcohol because as you know, it tastes extremely medicinal to me, I turn bright red and splotchy, and I lose eyesight and go blind. Yeah! It's pretty bad! It's because I am Asian and I don't have the proper enzyme to break down alcohol. Do any of you guys have this reaction too? Ha, well at least I don't have to deal with the extra calories and can still have fun sober! :D Oh and this white lace bikini is also from Billabong! (Nope this is not any type of a sponsored post...I buy a lot of bikinis from Billabong because the bottoms are small and cheeky, making my little butt look cute and perky!)

Love strapless bikinis for when you want a perfect tan on your upper body! On one of the last days, I found a pole and decided to pose on it. The last time I took a pole dance class (fitness of course!!) was like 4 years ago! Oh man, the inner thighs REALLY HURT. I wanted to take my hands off the pole and just hold with you legs, but it was too much for me. I didn't want a bruise!
Overall, the Punta Cana trip was super fun! It was nice not having to yelp everything to make sure we were getting the best meals for every eating opportunity. It was nice being warm all the time. It did rain quite a bit, and super hard too, but the skies cleared and I got a really nice tan! I would say that it was not as relaxing as Maui last year because we had wifi the whole time, no matter where we were, so I was always on my phone! It made it easy for snapchat and instagram, but I didn't feel like I ever really stopped working. Either way, it was nice to get away and do something different!
On the way back, it was a DISASTER! It took 27 hours to get from Punta Cana back to Los Angeles thanks to random delays and flight cancellations. I had to sleep in the airport on a bench. Got super itchy. Super cold! There were so many stranded passengers and our airline, US Airways, did not help accommodate the situation. I think I will need to write customer service and see what they can do. I always believe in going out of my way to make my customers happy (or at least comfortable in this situation) - that's what I practice with Blogilates and oGorgeous. Whether it's the company's fault or not, as a human, you need to have enough compassion to genuinely want to try to help people. Passing blame does nothing.
Anyway...when I got home I was so happy! Now I am ready to go!!! We are busy at work planning the Blogilates National Tour. I have already been in contact with some colleges from all over the US so I cannot wait to announce the tour dates and locations!

1. The Hundred warms up the core and gets your blood circulation going.
2. Make sure that you fully straighten your legs at the fullest extent of the Criss Cross. Also, shoulder to knee, not elbow to knee!
3. Place your hands in a triangle underneath your tailbone and make sure your low back is pressed into the mat. No hollow backs! Relax your head and shoulders.
4. This one is all about the obliques. Same elbow to same knee.
5. Press the heels together and point your toes. Elbows at ear height and left your chest as you crunch!
6. Keep your arms STRAIGHT in cha cha abs! Imagine that you are shimmying with your shoulders.
7. Press your palms into the mat. Lift your butt off the ground!
8. Make sure that both your shoulders and your butt is lifting simultaneously.
9. Twist! Make sure your shoulder comes off the mat and touch elbow to knee! Get ready for the hard version below...
10. Finally, the last move! Keep your leg straight as you twist! Almost there!

For some reason, people think that because of how differently we eat, we can't be friends. In fact, I saw someone write that vegans and non-vegans are supposed to be "enemies." Wow. That is a harsh word. Enemies? Really? Are we really Montagues and Capulets here? Cuz even Romeo & Juliet were able to find love. Others said that if Kristina didn't "convert me" then what's the point of us being friends. Once again, is your nutrition a religion or is it a way to nourish your body? I mean, I don't think I need to repost any more comments, but I hope you are able to see what I see here: close mindedness. It is difficult to inspire change when someone tries to impose their ideaologies on you and talk smack about you when you aren't doing things their way. When your child does something you don't like, do you call them stupid and ugly and berate them? No, you teach them. You teach them why. And you do it in an encouraging way so that they can find the fire to change within them. It's called compassion. Vegan or non-vegan, I will love you for YOU. Atkins, Paleo, Keto - whatever and however you eat - I will still love you for who you are and how you treat me and other people. I don't judge people who eat fries and burgers and can't walk up the stairs without taking a break. I see an opportunity to inspire. With that said, I really appreciate plant based food as I find it so creative how you can cook without animal product! (I've been integrating vegan and vegetarian food since I was young, so I'm very happy to be learning even more new recipes from friends as I get older!) Though you and I may not be 100% vegan, I do encourage everyone to add more fruits and veggies into their lifestyle. They are full of vitamins, minerals, and are extremely nutritious. Everyone's body is different - experiment with your food and see where you feel at your best and most energetic! Anyway, here's me and the lovely Kristina working out together!
